my old car officially gets taken away to the scrap yard tomorrow. it's still at the mechanic's so i swung by after work and sat inside it and had a little cry ngl.
#it's like objectively kinda stupid to cry over your car breaking just for sentimental reasons#but also i just loved that car im gonna miss it#i remembered earlier that i literally held a funeral for my first car lmao#invited all my high school friends over and we had a little bonfire as if it were a funeral pyre#loved that car too it was 2001 mercury grand marquis with a black vinyl top that everyone called either 'the hearse' or 'freddy'#it was soooo shitty when i bought it it had like 120k miles and the seats had cigarette burns all over them#had to replace multiple filters and and unstick everything because it was so covered in tar 😭#but it somehow lasted me like 6 years with barely any issues and god i loved it so much#it had a 6-disc changer cd player! and even tho the seats were in terrible shape they were still big comfy bench seats#plus i looked super goth driving around in that big ol' creaky black car#my altima was just a special little car to me tho idk#it was also a super cheap one that should have been shitty but lasted me like 6 years#i learned how to parallel park in that car. i spent many lunch breaks during college in that car#looking at it earlier i started tearing up when i saw one of my dog's pawprints on the backseat#(yes i should have cleaned my back seats more often not the point tho lmfao)#idk i just felt very at home in that car. it was there for me during an insane era of life#i should have another funeral. the drama of having not one but two car funerals seems very me#bri babbles
