I have the unfortunate tendency to make negative associations with things I may otherwise enjoy if they attach themselves to bad memories/events from the past

but one of my favorite bands of all time breaks this because it was a super awful event in my life that caused me to discover their music and it's just really funny to me because every time I listen to one of their songs my brain is like "okay so we're gonna replay these terrible memories for you since this music definitely reminds you of that Awful Thing-" And my thoughts immediately snap back with "SHUT UP I CAN'T HEAR YOU OVER THE SOUND OF ME JAMMING TF OUT RN!!!" "but-" "I SAID SHUT UP MY FAVORITE SONG IS ON!!!!"

And then it does, in fact, shut up.

HA! Some idiot made a rude comment about my co-workers to which I eloquently said you don't know shit about them, stfu. They said nah, I said you that they sound uniformed, to which I was called something politically related and "TRIGGERED" in their own words. I promptly responded that they clearly didn’t understand the meaning of the word because I was in complete control of my emotions and being "triggered" is not synonymous with being angry. I also might have mentioned that despite the fact that my political alignment has no factor in the conversation, it does in fact indicate that they do not value the other person's input if they do not think the same way as the commenter, which is frankly just sad.

My man shut the fuck up after that comment, to which another commenter replied "Intelligent responses which [the commenter] was not resdy for."

(Resdy was clearly a mistype for Ready, however I document responses as they were typed for clarity in order to properly relay the information as accurately as possible.)

Needless to say I had the time of my life knowing I could shut a bigoted idiot up in a single paragraph, where they felt they should in fact research before they talk about a specific topic.
