There is great courage in letting go of what is no longer good for you. Calling yourself out on your own “shit” in order to grow. How in the hell did I not know I had so much “shit?” (Underline much) I was with my dad prior to the picture of me on the left and due to stress and frustration, I had two beers before pictures because teenagers ARE FOR REAL on prom day.........and after pictures with my dad I had more beers followed by shit food. Although it could have been any reason or excuse to eat or drink and escape any stress related issue. The sun is shining. It’s Friday. The wifi is down. It’s Wilamena’s birthday. Uncle Biff died. You get the point. FF to the picture of me on the right (a year later) I set healthy boundaries and have created permanent healthy habits. I’m present in every way, every day. I get uncomfortable, set small goals and stretch goals to reach my purpose at the moment. It’s much more manageable for ME to choose something small and achieve it than to try and set a huge goal and end up not getting there and especially right away. Getting uncomfortable and being on bottom “for me” was exactly what I needed to be on top! Congratulating yourself on your wins is called compassion and is better than beating yourself up over your losses. Never will anyone get to see the me on the left again!
