22, 25, 40?? 😚
ooh these are good ones. \(★ω★)/
22. Are there certain types of writing you won’t do? (style, pov, genre, tropes, etc)
Not really! I’m not the biggest fan of first person but I totally get why people like it. I think just typical stuff that squick most folk? Like BATHROOM KINKS or something lmfao.
25. What fic do you wish you got more of a response on?
X readers tend to get more attention than anything else. So I’m very happy with the level of engagement of anything that I write for this blog!
That being said, this dragon age inquisition fic i just UGH i love it. I think that blackwall is a lesser popular character in general as are female qunari characters. People dont like big giant girl and lil guy i guess? Like smh does the DA fandom not see the appeal of big ass horned buff baddie x a sad little man??? Hahaha. I also think that Bioware fandoms are VERY oc heavy and if youre not actively engaged in the fandom, making friends with people and actively engaged in oc talk then your work tends to be ignored.
Oh. And this self indulgent ass fic of some milf getting railed by raiders set in the fallout universe. This fic is just… my favorite ever hahaha. I just wanna force everyone to read it. I totally get why original works and original characters not related to the main story are lesser popular though. Like cmon its a CONSENSUAL RAIDER GANGBANG with older gal younger guys!!! BARK lol.
40. If someone were to make fanart of your work, what fic or scene would you hope to see?
@pretty-possum made some hilarious and adorable doodles for my rougarou fic and I love love love them but im unsure if im allowed to share hahaha.
In one of my chapters of my Brahms fic, he gets all mad at his family photos and smashes them to bits, and the reader finally touches him for the first time to get the glass out of his skin. That moment is very stuck in my brain hahah. So like idk fkn whiny crybaby brahms with bandaids on his hands haha.
OR the scene where he’s all starry eyed over baby bunnies they found in the yard lol.

Among Trees
Jungkook x Reader ft the rest of the boys having some good ol fun
Youre part of the Run BTS staff, following around JK as his camera girl
Wordcount: 1.7k, two or three swear words, maybe goosebumps at the end
It was a sunny afternoon in the middle of the woods when you began filming a new episode of Run BTS. You were a part of the camera crew, documenting the members of the world’s biggest boy group and chasing them around for their shenanigans. As usual, you were assigned to the group’s maknae and your long term friend, Jeon Jungkook.
The objective of today’s episode is to race against the opposing team in collecting as many clues as they can which were scattered around the forest park. The clues will help them unlock a treasure box placed on the cabin that the company had rented out. The group was divided into two after a tense rock, paper, scissors match. Team Kim Seokjin consisted of Jin, Yoongi, and Jungkook. Soon enough, everyone got ready as the producer started counting down.
“Hana, Dul, Set!”
The members immediately bolted out of the main camera frame, prompting yourself to follow your assigned team. Jin and Yoongi catches up with Jungkook after a good distance to discuss their team’s strategy. “Aish, how many clues should we find?” Yoongi complains, already hating outdoor episodes. “We need to have more than what the other team has…” Jungkook supplies, having already found two clues. “But we don’t really need to find a lot of clues, we just need to get there first.” Jin suggests while looking around the woods. “If Namjoon gets there first, he can just figure out the treasure box which is why we have to get there first.” He continues, leading the team uphill and deeper into the woods. “Namjoon hyung may be smart but Jin hyung is dangerously clever…” Jungkook comments into the camera and rolling up the long sleeves of his shirt before running up to follow his hyungs.
You were struggling to keep up with the most energetic member, having to jog in a rocky uphill path while keeping your lens forward and making sure your GoPro isn’t blocked by your handheld camera. Your intercom radio buzzes unintelligibly from your pocket. One of the production staff’s voice is mangled among the radio static. You stop to catch your breath while extending the antenna of your radio. "What? I can't hear you!" You yell into the receiver. “Y/n…Out of range…” was what you make out of the crackle of noises. “Oh shit…” You mutter under your breath. “Guys!!” You continue to follow the uphill path Jin had cleverly chose to try to one up the opposing team. “Guys we need to go back!!” You exclaim. Your voice echoes through the wide forest. They were nowhere to be found. “Oh shit oh shit…” You reach for your cellphone. No service. “Y/n! We’re here!” Junkook calls out to you. He and the rest of his teammates were crouched down beside a tree. “Hey guys we need to go back.” “y/n, come here, do you think this is a wolf’s print?” Jin interrupts as he continues to analyze the large set of scratches on the tree trunk. “It’s not a wolf, Jin. There are no wolves here.” Yoongi exasperatedly answers. “I don’t know what that is but PD-nim said we need to go back. We’re out of range.” You explain to the members who were fussing over the marks. “Out of range? Weren’t you supposed to tell us that?” Yoongi squints his feline eyes at you. “I’m sorry, I must’ve missed the markers and didn’t notice them. Let’s just head back, okay?” You take the blame just to pacify Yoongi. It was starting to get dark and the staff must be looking for them. “Isn’t it your job to notice things? Or were you too busy noticing Jungkook?” Jin snaps suddenly, causing Jungkook to intervene. “Yah, hyung that’s enough!” Jungkook yells, stunning everyone. His voice echoes through the forest. The sun had set and the fog begins to seep around the tree trunks. You tremble behind Jungkook, hands rattling around the handheld camera. “You think I don’t know what’s going on between you two?” Jin continues anyway. Yoongi moves past Jungkook to grab your camera. “Stop recording. Give that to me.” Yoongi throws the camera, smashing it against a tree. A loud noise suddenly interrupts everyone who arguing in the middle of the forest. The loud snapping noise didn’t come from where Yoongi tossed the camera. Everyone faces where the noise supposedly came from.
The fog was growing thick while the sun’s last rays kiss the earth goodbye. The blinking lights of each member’s GoPro weren’t enough to see what's ahead. The loud cracking noise continues, incrementally moving closer and closer. “What’s that?” You ask, voice shaky.
No one could make out exactly what it was but it was a large figure, neither human nor animal. It was grotesquely shaped, crawling while dragging its lower half against the leaves of the forest floor. It didn’t talk, it didn't growl. It only made rattling noises that were sure to haunt you in your sleep.
“Run!” Jin was the first to head downhill followed by Yoongi. Jungkook pushes you before him, breaking your trance and causing adrenaline to rush through your veins. He follows close behind. The coldness of the night pinches against your face as you continue to run. The creature's heavy footsteps are close behind. Jin's panicked screams resound while Yoongi screams at him to shut up. Jungkook, from behind you, tells you to keep going.
Your feet continue to scramble against the mud and leaves causing you to trip and roll downhill. After a few rolls, you collide against Jin who had also rolled his way down with Yoongi. You see a couple of street lamps illuminating the main path. “Are you okay?” Yoongi pulls you up and dusts the leaves off your hair, a stark contrast to the Yoongi that had yelled at you earlier.
A beam of lights from ahead temporarily blinds team Kim Seokjin. “YAH WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?!” The producer’s voice blares through his megaphone. The rest of the staff and members were aboard the bus that had beamed the lights. “I’m sorry, sir. It was my fault. I didn’t notice we went beyond-“You begin to apologize profusely to your boss before Seokjin cuts you off. “It was my fault. I led them up the hill. I’m sorry I should've been more responsible.” Jin takes the blame and bows deeply to the staff. The rest of the members stood at the threshold of the bus. Namjoon pats Jin's head. "We heard you screaming. What happened?" Namjoon tries to lighten up the situation. "Something was chasing us." Yoongi deadpans, alarming Hoseok who lodged his head through the bus window. "Wait, where's Jungkookie?!" Jimin yells from inside the bus. This alarms the staff who had only noticed the maknae's absence. Taehyung shoves himself between Namjoon and the bus door to head towards the woods. "JUNGKOOKIE!!" he yells. Yoongi tries to pull Taehyung back to the bus, trying to silence the younger man, in fear of the creature coming out of the woods. "We can't leave him out here!" Taehyung pulls away but is stopped by the rest of the members. "Taehyung-ssi, get back to the bus. Everyone get back to the bus. We'll stay here and call the police. Leave the search to them before another one of you gets lost." The producer's imposing voice startles everyone. Taehyung's teary eyes plead to Namjoon who leads him back to the bus.
The ride back to the cabin was begrudgingly quiet. Taehyung was breathing rapidly while Jimin tried to keep him calm. Namjoon sat beside you. "Do you remember what happened out there, y/n?" His calm careful voice interrogates. "Yeah.." You nod. "We didn't notice we crossed the zone, we kept going up and Jin found some wolf scratches on a tree.." You turn around to face Jin who held a somber expression. "That's the last thing I remember.." He says. "Yoongi too..." "What?" You ask, feeling more confused. "The next thing I remember was that it was already dark and something was chasing us. Jin kept on screaming, and then we were rolling down the hill..." Yoongi continues. "y/n, what was chasing you?" Namjoon asks. The rest of the members waited for your answer.
"I don't know.." You started to cry. "Jin and Yoongi were in front of me and Jungkook told me to keep running.." "Okay, lets get some dinner and then we'll check the camera footage from your GoPros, alright? Jungkook will be fine. I'm sure of it." Namjoon reassures everyone as the bus finally pulls over at the cabin.
You were supposed to head to the staff trailer van as the boys unload their bags from the bus. You were surprised to find that the cabin's lights were on and there was smoke coming out of the chimney. There was also someone in the house. No one was supposed to be in the cabin yet. The original plan was to document the boys entering the place and play a game to decide which room they'll be sleeping in. You run to the front door, overtaking a startled Hoseok. All the lights were on inside the house. The place was warmed by the fire in the fireplace. The place smelled like a good warm meal and.. something else. "Whoaaa Jin hyung doesn't have to cook now!" Jimin cheers, dropping his luggage in a corner. The rest of the members walk into the kitchen and were all surprised to find him here. "Jungkook!" Taehyung yells, bolting himself toward the younger man. Jungkook looks around dumbfoundedly as the rest of the members crowd around to hug him. His expression remains stoic.
"Are you hurt?" "How did you get here?" "Hey where did you get all this food?" "You're fine, right?" His friends flood him with questions.
You continue to observe the man who looks like Jungkook as Namjoon excuses himself to call their manager, reporting that Jungkook is here in the cabin. "I don't know how but he's here, hes okay, and he cooked us some dinner." The group's leader chuckles into the phone. Dinner. You look around to find the dining table full of food. All sorts of meat, neatly laid out. Why is there so much food? You return your gaze to the group, and to the thing that assumed Jungkook's visage. You witness Taehyung continuing to inspect who he believes is Jungkook. He takes the pretender's arms, rolling his sleeves to find it clean. No cuts. No bruises. No tattoos.

“This just in.” The voice of the news anchor shifts into a more anxiety filled tone as her eyes flicker over what seems to be her script, you go press on the remote volume button to increase the news lady's voice on the tv.
Frowning you lean forward from the couch trying to take in everything she is saying.
“We urge everyone to stay inside, lock your doors for this weekend please only leave if it’s dire. Local police state there have been multiple homicides in the surrounding areas. We will come back with more information when we are informed further on what’s happening. Until then please keep a watchful eye out and stay safe.” The screen interrupts to the news channel logo halting all other new topics from being displayed.
The sound of the front door slamming and your boyfriend shuffling in difficulty trying to remove his shoes without using his occupied hands holding a bag of multiple items.
You can’t help the smile that finds its way to your face, the feeling of being completely at ease comes to you easily when you see Yunho’s giddy self make his way into the two of your guy's shared apartment kitchen.
Making your way to him you give him a quick peck and begin helping him unload the yogurt. That’s it though, it’s all yogurt.
“Why did you only buy so much yogurt? You didn’t get anything else? Just yogurt, so much yogurt.”
“Baby they had these yogurts on sale, so I decided like the great boyfriend I am to buy not just two packs but ten packs of the yogurts in different flavors of course we need variety.” He says as if it’s the most obvious thing ever.
Grabbing the yogurt you examine all the different flavors, strawberry, peaches, honey, vanilla. “I wouldn’t doubt all the yogurt being gone by next week with your hunger span.” You playfully tease him, confused but amused at his thinking of only getting a ton of yogurt.
His arms find their way around you, soft lips meeting your neck when he nuzzles his face into you, “Mm I guess I just can’t control my hunger sometimes.” Softly nipping at your neck. All the strength you can muster you pull yourself off of him to face him, intertwining your fingers with his pulling him closer to you.
“Speaking of your hunger, we actually need to stock up on real food and essentials. Police are saying something about a lot of murders taking place around the area. They don’t know much but they say we should stay inside for the weekend.” You mumble looking up at him rather sad at the news of what’s happening.
Yunho is shocked at the news, fingers gripping yours tightly to comfort you at your time. The mood that was once playful became serious, “I should go get it before places get too packed or closed down. Multiple murders aren’t something common around this area, so I’m sure they’ll close things down to take precaution. I’ll be quick.” With a quick kiss on your lips he removes himself from you to make his way back outside again.
“Call me! And be quick!” You shout out worried that he would have to leave the house again after being aware of what was happening but you knew it would be best for the long run in case anything worse happened.
“Okay babe, will do.” Then the door slams shut leaving you to pack the yogurts away.
It's later that night when you walk into the kitchen. You didn’t even know he came back, you didn’t hear the door.
“My goodness, Yunho.” You shout storming into the living room after noticing the dirtiest hallway and kitchen floors you ever witnessed in the apartment since, ever. “You left so much mud on the floor and even the living room rug. What the hell, why wouldn’t you take your shoes off at the door?”
Your anger rises immensely at the disaster you once called a rug. Mud was everywhere.
All over the hallway floors and kitchen, nasty slush covering most of the floor from huge footprints to muck on the kitchen counter following into the living room to continue its destruction,—your rug completely ruined by the wet dirt residue Yunho’s boots left.
He removes his gaze from the television he stood in front of and looks at you bringing his attention to you. He looks cold, pale, and emotionaless. Like the mess around wasn’t anything to him.
“Oh.”
“Oh? What do you mean Oh! Are you okay?” You look at him as if he lost his mind.
The extent of the mud is what sparks your annoyance and disgust, the smell from the dirt was enough to push you over the edge of annoyance but you were trying to keep it at bay.
With being annoyed you also felt worried. You were confused and he wasn’t putting an end to your confusion; he only made it worse with his blank stare.
Where had he been? Why was he standing in front of the tv? Most of all though—What caused him to bring in so much dirt?
“I’m sorry, I was in a rush.” Yunho stood in front of you reaching behind him to grab his phone. “Did you see the new’s. The murdering has been getting worse and people are claiming it’s their own doppelgänger killing them or their loved ones.”
Looking down and seeing the news article with a link leading to a video of a new anchor talking about the whole ordeal.
“How? How is that even possible? Why haven’t the police done anything?”
Gripping his phone in your hand you read over the article trying to make sense of what you’re reading but you can’t process it.
How can you? It was one thing to have multiple homicides happening but now to be killed or have your close one’s killed by someone who is identical to you is a whole other ball game. It takes deceiving to higher levels.
“I was worried so I came as quickly as I cou—”Yunho begins but you interrupt him before he can continue.
“Where were you? And why are you so muddy?” You question.
A deep blush over takes his features and his eyes dart around the room. “Uh about that, the car battery died completely in the middle of the road when I went out to get more laundry detergent. We have to stock up on necessities and we don’t need stinking clothes for who knows how long.”
His point calms you down and you give him his phone back, when he grabs it he makes sure to pull you in and hugs you tightly. Inhaling deeply he smiles at your scent. “I won’t be leaving anymore.” It’s muffled but you can still make it out, resulting in you smiling like a fool in love.
“You better not because you have to clean this mess”
Gesturing at the mess around you, you can’t help grimacing at the smell again. But you're happy he's home with you and safe most of all, “After you clean and wash up when you’re done we can watch that new movie that came out a few days ago! I’ll get the snacks ready!”
The murder count increased tenfolds and staying home didn’t seem to be one of the worst thing’s in the book. You actually were sort of happy with how you and your boyfriend got to spend so much time together. You did feel bad for the families and people dying out there at the cold hands of something so evil. Yet the result of it was something you tended to enjoy a little too much. You should’ve been keeping updated with the current events, researching more into the topic.
Definitely not on your knees sucking off your boyfriend in the shower—but here you were.
“You look so beautiful.” He cooed running his finger down your cheeks moving his digits in your hair behind your ear gripping the back of your head to push you lower on his aching cock.
Eyes fluttering shut at the praise you can’t help but let out a small moan around him all while taking more of him. Gentle hands coming up to play with his balls in the process trying to get him to come in your mouth, in all honesty. You push yourself to take more of his length down, continuing even when tears cloud your vision or when your lungs begin to burn from lack of oxygen. Sucking Yunho’s dick in a steaming hot bathroom probably wasn’t the healthiest thing to do but you’d do it plenty more time if it meant you got to suck him off. It shocked you, actually enjoying sucking him off.
Looking up at you the teardrops fall from your eyes down your cheeks enticing a moan to leave Yunho’s lips. Something about seeing you on your knees, mouth stuffed full of his cock, looking up at him has his knees buckling and he’s coming in the next second. Practically face fucking you to milk every drop of come he could release in one orgasm. You swallow it, no questions asked—wanting more.
Head thrown back he tries to contain his breathing and shakiness, he hasn’t felt this in a while.
When you continue to swirl your tongue around his sensitive tip you lift your hand to squeeze the base of cock literally milking him for all he got.
“Fuck, Fuck. Ah” Yunho swears his stomach is caving in from the immense pleasure coursing through his body, his bottom half feels numb from the bliss he’s experiencing. He could definitely get used to this.
It takes Yunho pushing you off him gently. You can’t help pout. “I want more.”
Going up to kiss him, you wrap your arms around him pulling him down a little to comfortably kiss him. You two kiss messily, the saliva and a bit of his cum mixed together along with your tongues. Rough and desperate the kiss felt tilting your head to kiss him deeper.
His fingers find his way in your wet hair, his grip tightening to control your movements, the small dominant act had you moaning into his mouth.
Kissing him more you begin feeling the effects of the burning in your lungs signaling your need to breathe. Pulling back to breath his hand forced your head still as his kiss became more desperate. You punched his chest trying to show him you needed air, you couldn’t help begin to panic. The hot steaming air felt more thicker than it had been making you feel more lightheaded.
The grip became painful on the sides of your head. As if he wanted to bust your skull open. When you feel yourself about to slip into darkness his grip loosens and he’s pushing your head away from him.
“What the fuck Yunho?! I couldn’t breathe.” Your words come out in a short gasp. One hand on your chest, the other holding the wall of the shower while you try to regain your breathing back.
“Guess we’re both greedy. ” He chuckles, his eyes playful with you like it was a game to him. You don’t laugh with him though, only sending him a glare.
Grabbing the towel on the outside of the shower you quickly step out wrapping it around you, wanting to get out of the overly heated room feeling shaken.
“You’re an asshole.” Is all you reply with along with a slam on the bathroom door when you exit it to get dressed in your room.
“Babe, You’re overreacting!” He shouts from the bathroom and continues his laughing fit.
“Fuck off!”
“Never.” His laugh becomes louder.
It took Yunho apologizing a total of twenty times in the span of five minutes until you decided you didn’t want to hear ‘I’m sorry Y/N’ one more time out his mouth for the night for you to forgive him, you make sure to specify how you want cuddles from him as a result of his punishment.
“That’s not much of a punishment, baby.” He reminds you with a wink and quick kiss to your lips. It’s like he never even tried to suffocate you by his kiss a few hours ago.
Being in Yunho’s arms was one thing you loved. You always felt small in them no matter what. This time in his arms you notice something different, particularly how big and firmer his muscles have gotten and you wonder if he has been working out on the low without you knowing.
Brushing your hands over them you lift your head from his chest looking him in the eyes, “Have you been working out?”
A small blush makes its way to his face and you find it adorable he could be whilst being so hot.
“Uh, Here and there…yeah.” His voice sounds nervous and you can’t help but giggle at how flustered he got when you pointed out his change in body.
“Mm, That’s hot.” You hum your hands moving over his chest and the effects of him working out can be seen.
Testing your luck you begin leaving small kisses among his chest until you reach his neck, when you hear his breathing pick up you take that as a sign to continue. Yet before you can continue to pleasure him he moves his neck bringing his hands up to hold your shoulders in a more comforting manner.
“Maybe for tonight we should just rest, yeah?”
Part of you feels embarrassed from being turned down by your own boyfriend, another part feels maybe he was uncomfortable after the shower incident.
Trying not to show your dampen mood by his rejection so you decide to just lay your head on his chest and hope sleep could consome you soon. With the rub of his fingers on your side and a small kiss to your forehead you feel your heart swelling at the small gesture. You should try to see it from his point of view, maybe he was worried about you? You were quite mad earlier. Soon enough the soft feeling of his fingers lull you to sleep quicker than you had anticipated.
You wake up by the noise of the bedroom door closing and you see the outline of your boyfriend in the dark room. Mind still foggy. You see him standing at the corner of the room, you remember cuddling with him before you went to sleep, you don’t remember him ever getting up and leaving.
“Baby?” You call out leaning on your elbow to hold yourself up enough to get a better look at him.
“Y/N, I was just using the bathroom.” Turning around he walks to the edge of the bed, climbing onto it he reassures you, kissing you on your forehead and pulling you close to him. “Go back to sleep baby.”
With the fog of sleep clouding your mind you could only hum laying your head down on the pillow, you fall into a slumber not before hearing a soft.
“Good girl.” But you don’t know if it’s a dream or reality.
The next morning you sit at the couch watching the family reality game show that piques your interest here and there. While your boyfriend does the dishes and this is a regular day in your life. You’re happy nonetheless as long as Yunho was here you felt content.
Last weekend you were supposed to visit your parents but with everything happening it was clear those plans had to be rescheduled. Yunho and you were gonna have dinner with your parents, something you guys rarely did but with your mothers birthday coming up, she wanted to have a nice family dinner.
“Yunho, We have to see if we can see my parents soon, since my mother’s birthday passed and we never got to do the dinner.” Leaving the living room and walking into the kitchen you sit at the dining table looking at your boyfriend finishing up the dishes. He doesn’t answer you, he just continues the dishes.
“Yunho.”
“I heard you.”
“Okay, but you can at least answer.” Scoffing, you cant help rolling your eyes.
What was his problem?
Yunho finished the last of the spoons and forks ignoring your attitude. It’s getting a little harder to tolerate certain things for the sake of an act. Drying his hands on one of the kitchen rags he leans on the kitchen counter, right leg crossed over the left. He watches you watch him still waiting for an answer. He almost rolls his eyes.
“No. It’s not safe, you can call them but going over there isn’t necessary.” He finishes the conversation once and for all.
“What do you mean no? It’s my mom’s birthday, you know how she gets about her birthday Yunho.”
“This year can be missed. No and that’s it, Y/N. I’m not talking about this anymore. If we go out there and something was to happen to you I would never be able to live with myself. I can't lose you. All it takes is one time, trust me I know.”
You were a bit taken back, “What do you mean you know?”
Yunho stares at you, you have never seen him this way. You and Yunho had your fair share of arguments and heated moments but the look in his eye is so intense and terrifying, if looks could kill you would be dead on this table. When you argued with Yunho before he always felt upset but you could see love and determination behind them still.
“What do you mean, how do I know? Did you not see the videos, hear the news, have you not seen how the world is literally ripping to shreds and you’re gonna put us at risk, you’re mother at risk for a birthday that isn’t even yours.” Throwing the rag on the counter he ran a hand over his hair in frustration, you were being so goddamn difficult, “Our damn car doesn’t even have a battery are we gonna walk to your mother’s house? Want to do that? Hm? Since you think you’re so smart.”
Never once did Yunho talk to you this way before, he spoke to you like you were a child who was stupid for wanting to something as small as going to see your parents and celebrate her birthday. The ache in your heart becomes noticeable to you and you swallow the lump forming in your throat. You didn’t think reminding him of something like this would cause what it had caused. He never acted this way, you thought maybe he was right. He was doing this because he was scared of losing you out there. Who knows what could happen out there. There wasn’t any way you could get there anyway—he made sure you knew that.
Yunho walks to the table not giving you the chance to even speak, “It’s selfish and you don’t see that. I get you’re trying to be nice. I know who you are, but this world won’t care about ruining our lives. I don't want to hear about this again. Got it?”’
“Got it.” Giving up on the discussion you don’t want to deal with this Yunho anymore. You don’t know how to handle him when he gets these random outbursts.
You don’t want to think about why he’s acting this way. You hope it’s just the pressure of staying inside trying to survive.
“I love you.” Gaze now soft and loving you look up just in time to feel his lips meet yours kissing you gently. “Come on, let's watch a movie.”
Nodding you make your way to the kitchen exit desperately, ready to leave to the living room wanting nothing more than to just cool down and watch a movie to clear some of the tension. Your movements stop when you hear his voice again just before you make it fully into the living room.
“Y/N…I love you.” His voice was firmer this time.
“I love you too, Yunho.”
Things fell into place nicely during the next weeks, Yunho was his normal cheerful self, always making you laugh at hours of the night and holding you tightly with so much love you couldn’t help but bask in the feeling of being in love. Even with everything going so well, You and Yunho haven’t had sex in a while and it was starting to take a toll. You never thought you were a person to want sex so badly, you could usually contain yourself and needs but having your boyfriend around so much had you needy for him and his attention it became something you grew accustomed to.
Nonetheless outside only got worse. A part of you felt the police weren’t doing much to help the victims of this crime that keeps happening. Everyday more people die at the hands of their own self or family members that aren’t them at all. Isolating was becoming a more easier thing to deal with and you felt safe. You didn’t know who was actually who out there. At least here you were safe with Yunho protecting you.
Yunho thought it would be a good idea to have date night, inside of course. Having a date night was always nice when it was with Yunho, so of course you agreed, you would never think to decline it despite living in the same house as well you couldn’t really say no, if you had wanted to. You were praying tonight he fucked you and made up for the past weeks of deprivation.
The food he had cooked while you prepared the table and got yourself dolled up for your man was always a nice feeling. It always excites you to be around his presence and feel the experience of love with him. A feeling you never wanted to leave you even when you grow older with him.
You wore a nice tight dress, nothing too much in the end it was only your house. You opted to wear your house slippers along with the dress, it was an unusual outfit for date night but your main focus was to get him to pay attention to your body in the dress not your flip flops. You wore the bra that made your breast stand out better and the dress hugged your body nicely for you to feel confident to walk out and hope for your man to fuck you. The makeup look you did fit perfectly with your dress.
When you two sit for dinner, you can’t help but blush when you notice he made time to get ready and he looked so good—so good. It took all of you to not jump on him right then and there, but you mustn’t rush the night.
“You look beautiful, princess. Just like my dream girl.” You hear Yunho say while he drunk some of the wine you poured both of you earlier.
Looking down, your cheeks felt hot and you were sure apples of your cheeks were red. “Stop. You’re so cheesy.” You can't contain the giggles that escape your mouth while chewing the meal, in fact you wanted to eat quickly so you can finally touch your boyfriend.
Yunho feels his heart bursting at you. He was falling in love with you more and more as the day went on, he felt he couldn’t fall for you more and then you would do something that would pull him down harder. He was drowning in your love and he loved it. He always wanted to stay like this. He wanted this, month after month, week after week, day after day.
“All in the name of love.” Yunho expresses sending you a quick wink that has your thighs clenching together to relieve the ache between your legs. He notices—he notices everything about you. He feels the sexual tension around the room and it swells his heart with more love for you, that you want him as much as he wants you.
“Are you full, my love?”
“Yes.” Embarrassed by how quick you responded you spoke again clearer and slower “Yes, I am full. Are you full?”
A small smirk twitches at his lips and he nods, “Yes, I’m quite hungry for something else.”
Something about the way he was acting so nonchalant had you soaking in your panties. The way his muscles tightened against the fabric of his suit jacket. His eyes on your body have you feeling lightheaded and needy. This was a new side you were seeing if Yunho and you felt yourself enjoying it maybe just a bit too much, but there wasn’t anything wrong with enjoying what's yours.
Screeches of his plate filled with his barely touched food takes your attention from his jacket and your eyes meet his dark ones while he pushes the dish aside.
He stares at you so intensely, still watching you when he sips his wine and when he puts it back on the table.
“Come here, baby.”
Pushing back your chair, you’re quick to take your weak legs to your man. Desperately needing him.
“Take your panties off for me.” A smile finds his lips when you nod removing the small piece of fabric going to discard it until Yunho’s hand indicates to you to stop and takes your soaked ruined panties from your hand bringing them up to his nose inhaling the scent of you deeply.
“You smell so delicious, princess.”
You could have sworn you could fall from how weak your legs felt, this was all such a new experience for you. You never knew your boyfriend could be so dominating to you in bed, you couldn’t help but worship what you felt in the moment.
It’s his turn to push his chair back when you’re completely bare with your panties in his suit pocket. When you have enough space to seat yourself on his lap you waste no time straddling him, your eagerness has him chuckling, Moaning softly when his lips meet your neck kissing and brush over your jaw. His left hand gripped your ass while his right found your heat, cupping it, his hold on you forces you to grind your sensitive nub against the palm of his hand.
A small gasp leaves your lips as you continue to mindlessly rub your soaked cunt against his hand, the pleasure you’ve been aching for finally igniting through you from some stimulation, but it wasn’t enough. You needed more.
“Let me make you feel good, yeah baby?” As if he needed to ask, the whine that left you while your hips moved more frantically, the addicting feeling making it hard for you to stop. But when he has enough of you using his hand for pleasure he forces you still with his grip on you.
“I want to hear you say it.”
“Yes! Yunho, please make me feel good. I need it so bad.” You groan out part desperation, part frustration when forced to halt your movements.
“You’re gonna come on my fingers and mouth and then I’m finally gonna make you come on my cock.” Wrapping his arms around you, carefully lifting you up and onto the table with a small push for you to lay down. He crouches between them, finally face to face Spreading your legs wide for him gets a clear view of your soaking pussy. You were so shameless around him but your mind was too far gone to care anymore. You were finally getting what you wanted
“So wet and sensitive for me.” His eyes take you in, two digits coming to collecting enough of your arousal to suck his fingers, you taste heavenly. Leaving small kisses on the top of your pussy before doing the same with your folds. He decides he’s tired of torturing himself and finally gives in, diving into your pussy. His tongue poking out and licking past your pussy lips . Your fingers find their way to his hair and you grip them tugging him closer to you. He hums when you comb your fingers through his hair.
Messily licking at your clit, he sucks your swollen nub whilst bringing his middle and ring finger to your entrance easing them into you stretching them out to prep you properly for his cock. His free arm makes sure to keep you still wrapping around your right thigh, forcing you to feel the pleasure he was giving you. He leaves his fingers knuckles deep inside you still, moving his tongue rapidly on your clit.
Arching your back when his fingers begin to thrust mercilessly into you more quickly than you expected, not giving you time to get used to the sudden rush of pleasure. You can already feel the knot in your stomach about to burst from the relentless pace of his fingers “W-wait, not too fast..ah I’m…I’m gonna come.” You cry out legs trying to close around his head. The tingling sensation was overwhelming to you, the heat pooling around your most sensitive parts.
“Fuckin’ come then.” He gives your clit a moment to breathe just to grant you what you felt you needed most in the moment, but the feeling of his tongue working your clit again comes just as quick as the words.
A loud cry leaves your lips and you can’t help when your eyes roll back when you finally come undone around his fingers, fingers pulling at his soft locks on top of his head. Mind going numb when he helps you ride out your orgasm, drinking everything your body has to offer to him.
When he removes his fingers from your dripping core, you take the breath of air, heart beating through your ears, heat spreading throughout your body and you can’t help but feel like the room became some degrees higher. It feels like you're floating in a warm space.
He thrives in the fact that he has you coming undone in mere minutes, He changes his tactic he used before now choosing to rub his slick wet fingers sloppily on your swollen clit while his tongue collected the juice seeping from your opening, beginning his journey on fucking you with tongue.
Wallowing in the pleasure in the mind buzzing from the aftermath of your orgasm he gave you. Legs shaking in overstimulation, you squirm the pleasurable feeling becoming too much to handle. He doesn’t let you up, only continuing his sweet assault on your delicate core.
“I can’t.” You cry out.
Fingers tugging more roughly on his hair you try to push his head away from your heat, it was no use, he was just too strong. He didn’t budge once just continuing his goal of making you come again from his mouth. Yunho wanted this for so long, to be buried in your cunt and he was gonna take full advantage of taking all of you, and bringing you new heights of pleasure.
Removing his hand holding you down, noticing you too weak to fight against him, he decides to release his cock from its restraint in his way too tight slacks now. Lazily pumped himself, smearing the precum that leaked out over his sensitive tip the feeling has him moaning around your pussy sending pleasure throughout your whole body forcing you involuntary clenching around his tongue. Legs weakling falling onto his shoulder, you didn’t even have strength to hold them up anymore.
It is not long before you’re coming again, a broken sob leaving your mouth, tears escaping your eyes rolling down the sides of your face.
“P-please, a second.” you beg legs feeling equivalent to jello, each jolt that ran through your body had your hips twitching at every touch.
Those two orgasm’s were literally earth shattering to you. You didn’t know what was left, right, up, or down. You were just drifting into the hot bliss that was Yunho.
Yunho finally decided to give you a break to get yourself together, he couldn’t have you passing out on him just yet. “You’re such a good girl for me baby, did so well just for me.”
Whimpering at the praise you blink away the blurriness in your sight seeing Yunho standing up looking down at you like he was about to destroy you tonight. He was finally gonna show you his love. His cock stood proudly and being so blinded with pleasure you never noticed him freeing himself.
Removing his suit jacket and unbuttoning his shirt removing the article of clothing. His lips meet you in an urgent kiss, clumsy fingers pulling at the straps of your dress and bra until your breasts are exposed. He pinched your right nipple until it hardened then doing the same to the other, alternating between them and kneading your tits. Your back arched into his touch wanting more of his touch.
“Ready?” He asks in the gentlest tone standing up again while his hands move down your body to rub your inner thighs until his thumbs start spreading your pussy lips, left thumb dipping into your entrance earning a moan from you just at the feeling of being filled. Even his thumbs were enough to get you leaking and going again. Removing his hands from you he sucks his thumb letting out a small groan.
“Definitely ready.”
Grabbing the base of cock he looks down watching as he nudges your clit with his tip, pulling back to repeat it until you're leaking your juices all over him.
“F-fuck baby, gonna fuck you so good.” The pleasure is out of this world for him, he was so high off the feeling of you, it felt so right. Deciding to put an end to the torturous pleasurable pain for both of you he finally slips his cock in with one solid thrust that has both of you moaning loudly.
Feeling him, the stretch of his cock felt so fulfilling. His tip kissing your cervix so perfectly. His thrust was urgent and quickly, hips stuttering and you know the events of tonight we’re getting to him and he was gonna cum any moment.
The way his cock hit your spot perfectly nudging you closer to your release with him, the pace was rough and frantic. One hand finding it way back to your breast tweaking your nipples while the other found it was to your abused clit playing with your sensitive nub desperately trying to bring you to the edge with him.
“Come with me baby.” It’s a breathless command but you take it with a loud moan finding the will to wrap your legs around him, wanting him closer—wanting more of his warmth.
Sounds of skin slapping, the table creaking, your screams was all that was heard through the whole apartment. Tears of ecstasy fill your eyes, your throat is dry from all the moans and screams, body edging closer to the sweet relief with every sloppy brutal thrust he gives you. The pleasure on your clit and pussy is blinding, it’s all you can think about. How good he was fucking you, how good his cock was making you feel. He knew your body well enough to get the best reactions out of you—like when he pinches and flicks your clit causing your legs to tense.
“You’re gonna come. I feel you squeezing me so tight.” Yunho shudders when you squeeze tighter, hips stuttering, fingers moving erratically on your clit. He wasn’t gonna last much longer. The pleasure was taking over him.
A harsh thrust and swipe at your clit has a loud cry leaving your lips as it throws you over the edge, dissolving into the overwhelming orgasm. Eyes rolling back, screams turned silent, you barely feel Yunho coming undone inside you with a string of curses and praises—way too fucked out to comprehend anything other than the pleasurable bliss.
Yunho brushes the damp hair on your forehead, breathing heavily. He takes in how you look up at the ceiling, a small fucked out expression on your face. He feels proud, never feeling better in his entire life.
“I love you.” He said, giving small pecks to the side of your jaw while he pulled out of you, pulling back to see his seed dripping from your swollen pussy a pleased smile on his face. “Such a good girl for me.”
“I love you too.”
The discomfort of.the table finally sets in and your skin feels clammy, you feel sweaty and exhausted but this is exactly what you wanted, such a nice dinner spent well.
“Let’s clean up, then we can sleep.” Your boyfriend kisses your sweaty forehead before picking you up and taking you to the shared bedroom but not without a small laugh when he hears you mumbles something about cleaning the table.
Laying in bed you looked at your boyfriend sleeping peacefully, so lovingly. After tonight’s events he seemed pretty worn out, you ditched the thought of sleep when you laid there and sleep didn’t come to you, it was coming slowly but taking its time. You didn’t mind one bit though, using the time instead to admire your boyfriend.
No matter the suspicions you had. You tried your best to keep yourself at ease. There was so valid evidence of what you thought could be possible. The news told you that the doppelgänger would kill without feeling any remorse, they were evil and only wanted to see others suffer. Surely you would have been dead if your boyfriend was to have been killed—he hadn’t been though. He was alive and laying right next to you sleeping. You were grateful for him, starting to feel bad that you had even begun to become suspicious of him when things had been stressful with everything going on. How could he not act weird and have outbursts in stressful situations like this?
Brushing his hair back, his hair had grown out a good amount due to the time in the house without leaving. Taking in his features, your eyes land on a scar you have never seen. You were sure you would have noticed the scar on the side of his forehead, or how his earlobe had holes in them, a lot of them. They were pierced.
You don’t even know how you went without noticing this until. All your time with Yunho you were sure your boyfriend never once had piercings, he spoke about them and how he would get them but he hasn’t been able to with everything happening in the world lately.
You remove your hand from his hair. Slowly making sure he wasn’t awake you searched for your phone in the darkness of your room around your bedside table. A memory hits you of when Yunho sent you pics of piercings he wanted on his ear just a few weeks ago.
The bed shifts causing you to snap your hand back before you can grab your phone. You freeze gulping, you really didn’t want your suspicions to be true. With your mind screaming at you every second to grab your phone quickly, you peek over to see Yunho still sleeping but this time he’s facing you instead of on his back.
Lips parted with soft breaths escaping at an even rhythm you make sure he’s asleep before grabbing your phone with more aggression than intended but you’re mad it even took you this long to find it.
This had to be the sign of something. All your suspicions began to skyrocket again. Just when you were gonna let them all go, all your suspicions were gonna be erased.
Frantically searching through your phone you click on Yunho’s messages re-reading through the texts. Your eyes flicker over messages where you see Yunho saying how he only wanted his lobe pierced since it would be his first time, he added how he was nervous to get them. He was such a softie, there couldn’t be any way he got all those piercing in such a short amount of time without any pain or even showing you them.
Searching for any pictures of you and your boyfriend in the past. A simple picture comes up. It's Yunho, one close up of him smiling looking at the sky. You remember taking this picture at a rooftop party your friends threw a few months prior. You took the picture from the side of him. The one you just caressed but in the picture you zoom in and notice something particular.
There’s no scar.
Blurriness ruins your eyesight as the tears build up in your eyes, the answer was clear now, and you were living in a delusion that he made up while taking advantage of you, for who knows how long.
“So I guess the cat’s out of the bag?”
Dropping your phone a loud gasp leaves your mouth in horror. Turning your head, you're face to face with him. Instead of the peacefully sleeping man you saw just a few seconds ago was not the one you see now. This time he wears an alarming grin with joyous eyes, nose barely touching one another. He tilts his head like he’s waiting for a response on his question.
How did you not hear him move? A voice screams at you in your head. You feel so dumb, scared, and hurt. You don’t think before you do anything you just fling the covers over yourself and run.
You try to make a dash to the door, heart pumping through your ears. Your adrenaline courses through your veins all while your brain and body trying to work together to get you to your goal of getting as far away from that—that evil thing.
The pain doesn’t hit you yet until your head is yanked back by your hair stopping all your movements as you feel your back collide with a firm chest.
“Ah, Ah, Ah. Where are you going?”
Dragging you back further into the room, he threw you, a little too easily on the floor.
Yunho never saw himself as a man who loves a silly little game of cat and mouse but if it was you it certainly perked his interest. Maybe he’ll let you try to get away just for the fun of chasing you back down but tonight wasn’t the night for that. You needed to understand you had hurt him with how you tried to leave, how could you disrespect him in such a way? After he went through all this extent of getting to you, to keep you.
“Don’t be fucking disrespectful answer my question.” His grip is back rougher this time in your hair lifting you up as if you were a rag doll.
“Away from you?” You don’t know what to say? You literally ran from him, there was no use in lying now. You didn’t want to play the games he wanted you to indulge in.
Nodding his head he doesn’t speak a word to you and you hope he would because the silence feels more scarier than anything. The dark room was a hard puzzle for you to solve, everything seemed so disoriented. His grip on your hair felt as though he was damaging your brain and any sense to see clearly.
His bare chest presses into your back when he feels he wants to lift you up from your knees by his hair.
Making you his own rag doll, literally.
Yunho drags you to the living room ignoring your cries when you trip over your feet trying to keep up, even continuing when he feels you stumble and fall, continuing to move along to the living room with you dragging behind him.
“I didn’t want to do thing’s this way baby, You know I love you with everything in me but you need to learn.”
The beat of your heart picks up more than you thought it could have ever beat in your life. Learn? What was he gonna do to you?
You can’t question yourself much longer when you find you and him in the kitchen rummaging through the cabinet with one hand. His other hand never once leaves your hair, never once easing his strength for you, if anything it felt he only tightened it when you moved uncomfortably.
Clawing, scratching his hand, squirming in his grip, did nothing but tired you out. He wasn’t paying attention to anything you were doing and you couldn’t see anything he did.
“Goodnight baby.”
The cloth covers your nose when he yanks your head back forcing your body between his and the cabinet no way you can escape his frame blocking you. He presses into you so strongly the cabinet digs into your skin inflicting pain on your back, but the chloroform does its job greatly. The last thing you see is the face of the love of your life before it all goes black.
“How long?”
In your current predicament, asking questions wasn’t the most ideal thing to do but when you’re tied to a chair in your own living room for who knows how long but your legs are tingling in numb sensation, something has to give. You feel you deserve to at least know how long he was playing house with you.
He raises his eyebrow at you, amusement written all over his face. After a grand total of three hours you finally decided to speak. He knew tying you up would cause you to be upset but he needed you to understand it was safer with him than out there. Yunho thought about his answer for a minute, “Hmm, Maybe I like keeping you in this guessing loop. Never knowing when I made myself present. Not knowing if it was me or him kissing, touching, fucking you. Who knows, maybe I've been here since the very beginning. Maybe I came earlier today and finally decided to show you what a real man can do. If you think of it, I’m giving you a little guessing game to play. Figuring out just exactly when I came in.”
“Stop! You sick bastard.” Screaming and shaking against the restraint of the chair you were forced in. The reality of actually knowing when you had been taken advantage of without even realizing it began to sit. The fact that you had so many suspicions made it so hard to pinpoint when your boyfriend was murdered and when the murderer became your boyfriend. Yunho began noticing as well from the look on your face.
“Don’t worry too much. At least you can agree that those times were very well spent.” He gives you a little wink along with the hint.
“Those?” Oh wow.
“Mhm” You can’t see him standing behind you but you feel him brushing the hair away from your face he hums, a small smile playing at his lips as if he was reminiscing in the memories of you cluelessly giving yourself to him.
Looking down you don’t want him to see the tears that want to fall for another second. The person you loved was gone and now literally replaced with his identical evil twin. You didn’t want to cry. It felt weak but the tears clouded your vision before you could even try to stop them—not that it was an option to do so with your hands tied behind the chair. You were filled with so much rage, immense sadness, and overwhelming grief.
“All those times I hope you know I never enjoyed it for you but for the man I loved. You knew that, that’s why you took advantage of me. You know I will never genuinely touch you, love yo—” Speaking every word was so hard to say with the lump that most definitely contained a long overdue sob ready to escape the depths of your throat.
A growl is heard and the tears finally stream down your cheek, much to your dismay when the sobs of pain leaves your throat. He forcefully yanks your head back so far you see him glaring at you with a deep scowl taking over his features.
He looks nothing like your loving boyfriend, but he looks exactly like him. It hurts.
He didn’t say anything for a moment, a long moment. You regain some strength to pick your head up when he lets go of your hair, through tears and aches all of it—you gloat in the fact that you hurt him. Anyone can easily see the pain in his actions, no matter how great he was at concealing it.
“I’d rather die than be here in this world with something like you.”
Maybe you’re tempting him? Maybe you’re acting like anyone in your situation would act? Maybe you’re using the only form of defense you have. Your words, you can merely try getting free and fight him but you know he would definitely bask in your struggles against him and these restraint, he would completely over power you. Your words were the only way to get to him. It wasn’t an effective defense mechanism but if you could just distract yourself from the pain of your true reality by continuing to talk and taunt the man behind all your pain was enough for you in this particular situation.
“Tsk.”
Disappearing from your sight, he leaves the living room and you see him make his way towards the kitchen. Your mind screamed at you to make an escape, unfortunately the pain in your wrist not only notifies you how tight they were put on but how secure it was.
A sound of metal utensils clashing alerts you. The hairs on your body begin to stand in fear. Would he actually?
It was one thing to die, a thing you had become content with. But you didn’t think how you would die, maybe somewhere inside you did want to die, yet you didn’t particularly want a painful torturous death. You just wanted the end result.
Coming back into view, knife in one hand, beer in the other. Yunho sits himself right in front of you on the couch, grey sweats, bare feet, shirtless, legs spread wide enough for you to fit perfectly between in your chair, and to your disgust, he looks hot. It messed with your head, how you still felt any ounce of attraction towards him. You don’t let the guilt get to you yet, simply reminding yourself that you are looking at an exact copy of your boyfriend who’s not your boyfriend but instead a murderer who killed your boyfriend.
Yunho takes your current state in, tied up with no power but yet you still decide to run your mouth and talk so much nonsense he actually considered cutting your tongue off just to get you to shut the fuck up but until remembering how good you were with using that particular muscle.
“You know. I did think of killing you in the beginning but that would be giving you what you want. I think I'll keep you in your own little personal hell.” Using the knife he opened the glass beer taking a swing. “Maybe I’ll lock you up, show you how much you need me. It takes the average human a week to die from dehydration and hunger but for some it can take up to weeks, months. If you want to die so badly I can leave you to rot…or maybe you’ll actually see, feel, understand how much you need me.”
Swaying the knife around as he talks has you tensing in the seat, rough rope digging into your bare legs. You wished you had more layers of clothes other than his oversized shirt. You can feel the cool tip of the knife brushing against your bare thighs here and there when he moves his hands when he speaks. He’s very expressive, insanely expressive with his body since his face holds no expression at all. Maybe annoyances?
“The cops will come.” It’s a small weak attempt of control, you know they won’t.
“You think the police are actually risking their lives for citizens. Use your brain Y/N, you’re a smart girl. You know they won’t, and if they did…I wouldn’t let them.” Yunho laughs at you, joyful that you think you could have any possible help. You should understand that nothing or anyone would keep him from you.
Tears interfere with your sight, no strength to hold them anymore—letting them freely flow.
“I hate you. I always will.” You spit at him. Your saliva hitting his chin, he doesn’t seem the slightest bit phased though.
“You’ll learn to love me like you loved him. I am him and better, can’t you see I'm the one who deserves to be loved by you. Yeah I killed him but it was truly about who wanted your heart more, I was and still am willing to do anything for it.” He moves his hand out the tip of the kitchen knife pressing into the tip of your nose.
“Please.” You can feel the pressure of the knife on your nose increasing, your heart beating too fast for your liking but you can’t hide how scared you are at this moment. You wanted to accept death and no matter how much you tried to tell yourself it would be better that way your human instincts were still intact, so the feeling of wanting to survive and not die still was present as much as you didn’t want to live.
“Please? I thought you’d rather die? What was that all about, baby?” He questions pushing the knife enough to nudge your head back, not enough to draw blood, yet. “You really hurt me back there, running off trying to leave me after I fought so hard to be the one here.”
Removing the knife from your face he places it on his lap, drinking more of his alcoholic beverage. Yunho watches you cry and sniff trying to clear your breathing ways, your whole demeanor opposite from earlier. He loves that he’s getting some progress in the direction he wanted, of course he knew it would always fall in his favor nevertheless he was worried how long it would take for you to cooperate with him. He already took all of you, what else could you do?
He had won, and he was drinking in celebration. Finally the act was done, no longer having to play the good guy act anymore, it was bliss for him.
“I don’t really like sharing my things.” Knife back in his hand he lifts the end of his shirt on you exposing your panties to him with the tip, you can’t do anything but let the tears fall onto the metal of the knife and your thighs as you let your fate set in.
“All mine.”
Yunho gives you that brightest smile, Clearly the happiest person in the room.

They say to live the life you dream of, you have to work hard. Some people can start from the bottom and work their way up to the top. While others are fortunate enough to start directly from the top due to the resources that are available to them.
Unluckily for you, you are not one of the latters. You worked hard to get where you are now, being the CEO of Bloom. You didn’t earn the status of CEO through being the heir to the company, no. You built Bloom on your own, and now you’re one of the youngest, as well as the richest, in the business of the gaming industry.
However, as it was said before, you’re one of the youngest and richest. There’s another that you’re currently ahead of in the business, some claim to be your rival in the industry. The two of you are always clashing on the charts, always competing at the same time. Since you just recently launched a new update for your game, you’re higher on the ladder than him. For now.
Kim Mingyu, the CEO of Ainsoft. At the age of 19 he inherited the money to start up his own gaming company, which ended up being incredibly successful. As he is now 23, and one of the youngest and richest in South Korea. Right beside you on the charts, but you started from the ground up, while he had a bit of help.
What you don’t know is that Mingyu is truly out of this world. Tall, handsome, and rich, yes. However, he is actually not a part of this world. For he is one of the seven deadly sins,
The Sin of Envy.
And you, yln yn, are at the top of his list.
“Nah, he’s a villain. If you wanna make him look the part, he should look less soft. Taller, broader, dark hair, nice tan skin. Yes! Perfect.” You clap your hands once your game designer makes the changes you requested. Minghao turns to glance at you with a look that basically says, ugh! this bitch.
“... What?”
“You literally just had me draw Kim Mingyu.” You purse your lips once you see the resemblance, and turn your head away, letting out a whistle tune. Minghao chuckles, deleting the edits he made so that the drawing is back to its original rough draft.
“You know, it’s not my fault that he looks like the perfect villain.” You say to Minghao, and he waves his hand away at you, flashing you a grin. “I’ll work on this and show you the draft when I’m done, deal?”
You smile, giving the black haired beauty a thumbs up. “Deal.”
And with that, you turn and stroll back to your office. You check in with your other employees on the way there, seeing how the design and coding is going for the upcoming game you plan to discuss with investors in a month or so.
With a smile and wave of your hand, you step into your office, shutting the door behind you and walking over to your desk. You sit down, letting out a breath and closing your eyes as you rest your head on the back of your seat.
You quickly get interrupted by a knock on your door, and you call out that they can come in. Sitting up straighter in your seat, you watch as your COO, Chan, steps into your office with a straight face. You raise an eyebrow, knowing that he brought news you must not like.
“What is it?” You ask as Chan sits down in the seat in front of your desk, and he lets out a sigh. He places the small envelope before you, and you purse your lips, reaching out and taking it. You carefully open up the red paper, and pull out what seems to be an invitation.
You immediately frown at what you read, and you glance up at Chan to see him also looking at the piece of paper as if it were cursed. You place it back down onto the table, letting out a sigh and slumping in your seat.
“Why is Kim Mingyu inviting me to his gala?” You ask, pointing to the invitation in disgust, and Chan shrugs in response. He looks rather tired as well, and you feel a bit bad for your friend.
His black hair isn’t as put together as it was in the morning, showing that he must’ve been running his hands through it a lot during the day. His tie is a bit loosened as well, and he’s more hunched over. You know for a fact that once he leaves your office, he won’t be showing any sign of fatigue to your employees. You don’t blame him for being tired though, it’s a stressful process trying to create a new game.
“I think he might be planning something.” Chan mutters, squinting at the invitation from his seat. You tilt your head, wondering what Mingyu could possibly be scheming. You’ve never met him before, as you’re not one to go out to galas or many public events, and he’s never invited you to one of his galas before. Chan is usually the one who attends those things because he knows you’d much rather work on new game developments or on updates for any existing games than waste time at a party.
“Of course he is. He never invites me to these things, and I’ve also never met him, yet we’re each other's biggest competitor. You’re the only one who has spoken to Mingyu before.” You say, pointing to Chan, who is now rubbing his eyes with the back of his hands. Once he’s done he glances at you, giving you a shrug of his shoulders.
“All I can remember is that he’s really tall, and pretty cocky.”
“Only a little bit?”
“Nah, like. The type that knows everyone loves him and can get anyone he wants without trying.” You purse your lips, turning your head away with a scowl. From what you’re hearing, Kim Mingyu is the worst type of man.
“I’m not going.” You state with finality, turning back towards your computer. You begin typing away for a minute, only to pause when you realize that Chan is still sitting in your seat, staring at you. Your eyes immediately widen and you shake your head, while Chan stands up and raises his hands towards you. “Absolutely not!”
“You didn’t even hear what I was going to say!”
“Because I already know what you were going to say!” You exclaim with a baffled expression on your face, and Chan gives you a defeated look in return. He purses his lips and you squint back at him. After a moment Chan finally says, “I think you should go.”
“Give me one good reason why.” You tell him and Chan grins, having already expected you to say that.
“It’s an opportunity to get information on the enemy.” Chan states, and you raise an eyebrow. Leaning back into your seat, you signal for him to go on.
“Listen. Mingyu is known to hold these big galas when they’re planning on launching a new game, right?” Chan glances at you for your reaction, and you nod your head. “So, you can go to try and get information. You’ve never met Mingyu, and he’s never met you. What if you managed to even swoon him?”
You roll your eyes, grabbing your stapler to throw it at your partner’s head, and he raises his arms in surrender, letting out giggles at your reaction. You place the almost weapon back down on your table, and bite your finger, a habit you do when you start to think heavily about something.
Chan has a point. It’s a dirty way of playing the game, but hey, you’re in the gaming industry. What you and Chan are planning on doing isn’t that bad anyways. You’re just going to see what his next game may be, report it back to your employees, and make sure your new game release will be a thousand times better than his.
Which is why you turn back to Chan, a newly formed smirk on your lips, and he grins evilly back. You rest your chin on the palm of your hand, “Guess I have plans this Saturday.”
“Ms. yln, the CEO of Bloom, has just arrived at Kim Mingyu’s gala. This is her first time attending Mr. Kim’s gala since they are the two biggest competitors in the gaming industry. She’s wearing an emerald green…”
You ignore the voices of the reporters as you step out of your bugatti chiron with a knowing smile on your face. You hand your keys to the valet, giving them a nod as you walk down the red carpet. You flip your hair over your shoulder, before walking up the steps and into the grand venue.
You feel the eyes on you when you step in, and you bow to those around you. You walk further into the ballroom of the hotel, running a hand through your hair as you walk up to one of the tables. You take out your phone from the strap on your leg, sending Chan a quick text that you’re going to curse him for not coming with you. To which he replies,
chan: love you too sexci :D
“Champagne, Ms. yln?” You turn to glance at the voice, to find a young waiter standing before you, holding fancy glasses filled with the expensive alcohol. You give him a small smile, and watch as a blush rises to his cheeks when you take one. “Thank you so much.”
He bows, before turning and walking away. You take a tiny sip and let out a pleased noise once you taste the unexpected sweetness to it. You ponder your luck on your favorite alcohol getting served at the gala you dreaded going to, only to receive an answer from the voice beside you.
“Montaudon Brut, your favorite.” You turn your head to find none other than the Kim Mingyu standing close beside you, a knowing smirk on his face as he stares at you. You raise an eyebrow, turning your body to face him as you look back into his eyes.
“How’d you know?” You ask with a small smile, and he shrugs, running a hand through his perfectly styled hair, damn you kim mingyu, before giving you a mischievous look. “Did a little bit of research.”
You let out an, ah, before turning your head away to sweep the room. You lock eyes with a few onlookers, but they quickly glance the other way, making the corner of your lips tilt upwards a bit. You take in the decorations on the ceiling, from the bright pink and white flowers, to the green leafy plants hanging next to the fairy lights. What used to just be a golden ballroom inside a hotel now resembles what you’d consider a great option for what heaven may look like.
It’s rather ironic actually, considering that the Sin of Envy is standing right beside you. Mingyu watches you with fire in his eyes, having not expected you to be more gorgeous in person than in pictures, let alone when the fairy lights cast an iridescent glow over you.
“The decorations are lovely, did you pick them out yourself as well?” You ask, turning to glance back at Mingyu, just to feel your breath get caught in your throat when you catch the intense look in his eyes. He tilts his head at you, opening his mouth to say something when the sound of the mic turning on catches both of your attention.
Mingyu flashes you a mischievous smile, “That’s my signal to go and greet everyone. I’ll see you later?”
You find yourself smirking, nodding your head and waving off the handsome man with your hand. “You know where to find me.”
And with that, Mingyu turns and walks off the stage. All while you head off in the opposite direction to go and get some info on his upcoming game. You notice a group consisting of a few women and men who are eyeing you, and you walk over to them. They seemed to not have expected you to go up to them due to their eyes widening slightly, and you let out a grin when you reach their table.
“Ms. yln, what an honor it is to meet you.” The tallest male says, and you extend your hand out to shake his. Only to bite the inside of your cheek when he raises your hand up and presses a kiss to the back of it instead. He leans back and you glance at the rest of the people around him, just for them to immediately bow to you. You bow back, before giving the man a smile. “What’s your name?”
“My name is Cha Eunwoo, I’m Mingyu’s game designer.” You nod your head, mentally patting yourself on the back for finding one of the main people in charge of making Mingyu’s newest release. You run a hand through your hair before turning to ask, “What got you into game design?”
The two of you spend the next hour talking about Eunwoo’s experience working with Mingyu. You find yourself enjoying the pretty man’s company. He’s nice, witty, charming, and rather funny. You wish he could be a part of your team, but alas. At least you found out small bits and pieces of what could potentially be Ainsoft’s next release.
What you’ve gathered so far is that there’s mentions of a dystopian universe, and a team. You’re worried that may be all you’re able to get, but you think that it could be enough. You wave bye to Eunwoo, and he tells you he was happy that he got to speak to you, before you turn and walk back over to your table.
You raise an eyebrow when you see that your table is now full, so you decide to walk around. Other than doing the occasional bow, you don’t feel like talking to anyone else for now, so you continue to roam around. You tilt your head when you find a hallway close to the stage, so you walk down it. Taking in the hanging green plants on the ceiling, finding the interior decoration of the gala to be impeccable. You see doors leading to a balcony once you’re closer to the end of the hallway, and you step out.
You take a sip of your champagne when you find Mingyu looking over the ledge, staring out at the city. You raise an eyebrow and walk over, but he doesn’t seem startled by your presence. He just continues to look at the skyline, taking in deep breaths of the cold, night air.
“Thought you said you’d find me?” You joke after a moment, and Mingyu turns to glance at you. He lets out an amused grin, shaking his head at you. “Wanted to give you a little adventure.” Is all he replies, and you find yourself smiling.
The two of you stare out at the skyline together in silence, and you feel that you’re the calmest you’ve been in months as you stand beside Mingyu. Glancing up at the night sky you notice a shooting star, and you nudge the man. He turns to look at you, and you point up at the sky with a glimmer to your eye, “Look! A shooting star.”
Mingyu looks up at the sky, and he catches the very last second of the shooting star. He chuckles, knowing that means one of the stars is on their way to fulfill a quest, but of course, you don’t know that. So he turns to glance at you, just to find that your eyes are closed, and your hands are clasped together as you make a wish up to the shooting star.
Mingyu feels something in his chest at the sight, and he wonders whether he may be having a heart attack, but then he remembers that he’s immortal. You open your eyes and turn to glance at Mingyu, and that’s when he feels his heart stop.
He realizes that your eyes outshine all the stars in the sky with the way they brightly bore into his, and he finds the visual so enchanting, that he forgets to speak. You tilt your head to the side at his silence, and you take the last sip of your champagne, before placing the empty glass onto the ledge.
“So quiet now. Have you just realized how pretty I am?” You tease, and Mingyu snaps out of his trance. He leans in closer to your face, and your eyes widen when his nose almost touches yours. The handsome man lets out a smile, “I’ve always known you were stunning, yn. However, I didn’t expect you to be even prettier in person.” And with that, he leans back at his full height, chuckling at your surprised expression.
You squint at him, “Shut up.”
“Awe, is my biggest rival shy now?” Mingyu asks, and you roll your eyes. You nudge him with your shoulder, and he hides his smile behind the glass of champagne, taking a large sip of it. You feel your phone vibrate in the strap on your thigh, so you stick your leg out of the slit of your dress. Mingyu glances down and his eyes widen slightly at the sight of you taking your phone out of the strap.
“You kept… your phone there?” You nod your head without looking at Mingyu, seeing that Chan needs you to come home so he can discuss one of the character designs for the game you’re creating. You place your phone back in the strap, before hiding your leg from view. Turning towards Mingyu, you give him a grin.
“I have to take my leave now. Thank you for inviting me to your gala, I had a wonderful time.” You tell Mingyu, and he purses his lips at the fact that he feels the slightest bit of disappointment in his chest from you leaving already.
“So soon?” Mingyu asks and you nod your head, muttering that duty calls. You’re about to turn around to leave when you feel a hand grasp your wrist, and you glance behind you to see Mingyu staring at you with a small smile.
“Will I see you again?”
Your eyes widen at the question, having not expected for there to be a next time. While Mingyu continues to look at you with a glint in his eye, and you wonder why he wants to initiate a relationship between the two of you. However, you also enjoy Mingyu’s company, so it really has you thinking.
“Maybe. Depends on what the Gods have in store for us.” You answer, and Mingyu finds it so painfully ironic that he lets out a laugh, to which you find yourself smiling back. He nods his head, letting go of your wrist so that you can leave the gala.
“I’ll see you, yln yn.” You flip your hair over your shoulder, waving bye to Mingyu. “See you, Kim Mingyu.”
And with that, you walk off the balcony. Leaving Mingyu alone underneath the night sky. He lets out a breath, turning back towards the ledge as he decides to head back into the gala after a few minutes.
Mingyu glances up at the stars, and he comes to realize that you’re all he can think about as he does so.
“Minghao!” The black haired beauty turns in the direction he heard you call, just to find you quickly walking over with an excited smile on your face. He raises an eyebrow, about to open his mouth to ask how much espresso you got in your coffee, just for you to slam your journal onto his desk. “Someone’s excited.”
“I had a dream.”
“So did Rapunzel and Flynn Rider.” You squint at Minghao, and he gives you a smile that convinces you not to reach out and smack the back of his head. So you instead open up your journal, showing the drawing you made at four in the morning the night before, and Minghao’s eyes widen slightly in awe.
“These are…”
“Perfect.”
“An incredibly different vibe from the characters we had drawn out before.” Minghao points out, and you nod your head. Running a hand through your hair, you give him a grin. “Don’t you think they suit the game so much better though? I was unsure of the direction we were going in, but after what I learned at the gala, I think these characters will be better.”
Minghao nods his head in agreement, turning back towards the drawing. You stare at the drawing as well, “I had a dream last night and as soon as I woke up I just had to draw the characters I dreamt of. This is what I got. I want you to show this to the team and make these characters come to life by the end of next week.” You tell Minghao, and he purses his lips. He grasps the journal and raises it up towards his face, taking in the detail of their outfits, the brightness of the hair, and their varying facial expressions.
“What kind of dream did you have?” Minghao asks after a moment, and you tilt your head at the thought of it. Perhaps you had that bizarre dream because you watched that one alien episode of buzzfeed unsolved to try and stop thinking of Mingyu, but you’re not sure.
“These weird aliens kept trying to peg me with their tentacles.” You mutter with a look of unease displayed over your features, and Minghao just stares at you in concern. You snap out of the memory, turning back towards Minghao and giving him a small smile.
“You can create these by the end of next week, right?”
“You dreamt… of tentacle porn?” You let out a laugh, reaching out and resting a hand on Minghao’s shoulder. “Remind me to not watch anything involving aliens before I go to sleep.”
Minghao nods his head, “Noted.”
And after he confirms that he’ll be able to have the characters drawn out and will show them to you as soon as they’re done, you walk back to your office after checking with your other employees. You’re about to turn the corner to your office when Chan stops you, a bright smile on his face that has you suspicious.
“...What?”
“You want coffee?”
“I don’t like coffee.”
“Well, let’s make you like it! Let’s go!” Chan says quickly, hooking his arm with yours and pulling you in the opposite direction of your office. With a frown you pull your arm away, squinting at Chan. “Why are you stopping me from going into my office?”
“Why… not?” You stare at Chan with a bored expression, before turning around and opening the door to your office, promptly ignoring Chan’s sounds of protest. You find yourself staring at the back of Mingyu’s head, who is sitting in the seat placed in front of your desk.
“Kim Mingyu.” You state, and the man turns around, flashing you a smile. His black hair is up in the style he had at the gala, revealing his forehead and strong eyebrows. He’s wearing a black dress shirt, the top buttons being unbuttoned, revealing a bit of his chest, and you raise an eyebrow. You take notice of his sharp canines for the first time as he smiles at you, and for some reason, you’re intrigued.
“To what do I owe the pleasure of having you in my office right now?” You ask as you walk up to your chair, feeling Mingyu’s eyes on you the whole way there. You sit down in your seat, and look up into his eyes, finding the same intense look that he had at the night of the gala two weeks prior. Mingyu smiles, leaning his head back into the chair, and your eyes trail down to his Adam's apple, watching it move as he swallows.
“You weren’t making any moves to come and see me again, so I decided to pay my rival a visit and ask her out for coffee.” You choke on your saliva at the end of his sentence, and Mingyu smiles at that. You stare at him with wide eyes, and he rests his chin on his hand, looking at you with amusement dancing in his deep brown eyes.
The two of you weren’t supposed to meet again. By you going to the gala it was simply for your own gain, to learn more about his upcoming game. However, you ended up learning more about the enemy himself. You know that you shouldn’t entertain him like this, but here you are, wanting to get to know your rival more.
And so you regain your composure, and tilt your head to the side, now grinning back at Mingyu. “After your research on me, I thought you’d learn that I’m more of a tea person.”
Mingyu bites his finger, letting out a smile at that. “Guess the internet isn’t always that reliable.”
You nod your head, before standing up from the chair and heading over to the door. Mingyu raises an eyebrow at you moving to leave without another word, and you turn your head to look at him. You smirk, “Are you coming or what? I know a good tea place down the street from here.”
Mingyu laughs, standing up from the seat and grabbing the maroon jacket that was laid over the back of it. He puts it on, and you find that he looks like the epitome of a God as he walks up to you. Once he’s standing in front of you, the two of you stare into each other’s eyes for a moment.
Mingyu thinks that emerald green complements your eye color as he stares at you, curious as to how he didn’t notice it when you wore that emerald green dress at the gala. While you wonder how cursed you have to be for your rival to be one of the prettiest people you’ve ever laid eyes on. So you grin, opening the door for him and pointing out with your arm. “After you.”
Mingyu chuckles out, “How sweet of you.” as he steps out of your office.
The two of you walk over towards the elevators, and you glance over to see Minghao staring at you with a small smirk on his face, while Chan looks like he’s shitting himself. You raise an eyebrow at them, and Minghao makes his hands look like they’re kissing, and Chan just makes the motion that looks like he’s praying to the Gods. You roll your eyes, before turning back towards Mingyu to see him bowing his head towards your other employees that are looking at the both of you.
at least he’s respectful.
“Are you gonna pay for my tea?” Mingyu asks once the two of you enter the elevator, and you smile, turning to look at your rival. You reach over and press the star button, and the elevator makes its way down. After a second of silence you respond,
“Sure, I’ll pay for your tea as a celebration for the fact that I’m in the #1 spot right now.” You answer, giving Mingyu a cheeky smile, and he rolls his eyes.
For now, Mingyu thinks to himself bitterly once the elevator doors open.
“You fucking suck at fall guys.” You mutter to Mingyu once you hear him yell out beside you. He chooses to ignore that comment so that he can try and make it into the qualifying round, and you let out a squeal once you take the last spot. Mingyu glares at the screen, seeing the word eliminated flash across it while you celebrate.
Mingyu removes his headset, and turns to glare at you on the other side of your gaming room, clapping your hands happily. He lets out a groan and rests his head on the back of the chair, causing you to let out a laugh at his reaction.
“Who would’ve thought that the CEO of Ainsoft is so terrible at fall guys?” You tease, and Mingyu rolls his eyes. He stands up from the seat without another word and walks over to you. You open your mouth to ask what he’s doing, only for your whole world to be flipped upside down when he throws you over your shoulder. You let out a laugh, “Put me down!”
“No.” Mingyu states, smiling as he spins around, hearing you let out a squeal as he does so. You threaten that you’re going to throw up onto the back of his shirt if he doesn’t set you down, and he laughs. “Then apologize and tell me I’m the best player ever.”
“Lying is a sin, Mingyu.”
“Bruh…” And so, Mingyu spins you around a few more times before setting you down onto the couch with a laugh. The two of you freeze once you realize the position you’re in, with him hovering over you and you laying flat on your back.
It’s been a couple months since the gala, and you and Mingyu have gotten close. What started out as you trying to beat him, led to you wanting to get to know him, and now you can’t help but think how nice it must be to kiss him as you stare down at his soft, pink lips.
It wasn’t supposed to be like this, Mingyu thinks as he stares into your eyes. He didn’t even think he was capable of feeling this way towards anyone. But it’s when he lifts up his hand and rests it on your cheek, and he watches as your eyes glance down towards his lips that he realizes,
“I want you.” Mingyu murmurs, and your breath hitches at his words.
And so the two of you stare at each other for a moment in silence, before you let out a small smile.
“Only if you can beat me at fall guys.” Mingyu squints at you, and you giggle at his reaction. He rolls his eyes before leaning down and capturing your lips in a kiss for the first time.
“Fuck!” You hear Mingyu yell as you step into his office. It’s already late at night, almost one am, and yet Mingyu is still here working at his desk. He glances up at you when he hears the sound of the door close, and he turns off his computer when you walk towards him.
His hair isn’t perfectly put together anymore based on the way it’s falling over his forehead now. His tie is loosened and is just hanging around his neck, the first few buttons now unbuttoned on his shirt as well. You take notice of the bags under his eyes, and you realize he’s been lacking sleep.
“Yn, how did you get in?” Mingyu asks tiredly, standing up from his desk and walking over to you. You chuckle, holding up the spare keys that he left at your house a week prior and dangling it in front of his face. He opens up his hand, and you drop the keys onto the palm of his hand. Mingyu lets out a small, “Ah.” and you chuckle.
You wrap your arms around his waist, rubbing his back and he finds himself smiling softly at the feeling. He lets out a breath of relief and cradles your head, pressing a kiss to the top of it. After a moment you pull back and give him a smile, “Let’s take you home, mm? You’re overworking yourself.”
Mingyu opens his mouth to protest and you shush him, shaking your head. He stares at you for a moment, not used to anyone taking care of him when he stays late at the office, and he feels his heart warm slightly. He lets out a sigh, before giving you a smile and nodding his head. He leans forward and presses a kiss to your forehead, “Just let me pack up, okay? I’ll be out in a sec.”
You walk out of his office and wait by the door for a few minutes, just scrolling through your phone when Mingyu finally walks out. He reaches out for your hand and you intertwine your fingers with his, and the two of you talk about your day as you head to his car.
“Eunwoo choked on tteokbokki?” You ask, and Mingyu laughs at the memory of Eunwoo choking in his office. He starts the car and backs out of his parking spot, and begins driving out of the parking garage. “He absolutely did. I wish I got it on video.”
You giggle at the thought of the pretty man turning red in the face and choking on the small rice cake. Mingyu smiles at the sound, finding it to be one of your best qualities. The two of you drive in relative silence the rest of the way to his place, as Mingyu’s sleepy, and you’re also tired.
When you both finally arrive, you step out of his car and walk into his house. Mingyu makes a beeline for his room, taking off his dress shirt and belly flopping onto his bed. You laugh at his antics, sitting on the edge of his bed and slapping his back. “Go and change into your pajamas at least.”
“Can you do it for me?” Mingyu asks teasingly, lifting up his head to glance at your reaction. He wiggles his eyebrows at you, and you glare, reaching out and slapping his back. He lets out a whine, before getting up from his bed and walking over to his closet.
He comes back after a moment, changed into fluffy pajama pants and an old t-shirt. He throws one of his t-shirts at you for you to change into and you chuckle. He climbs back into bed and looks at you with a confused expression, wondering why you haven’t changed.
“I’m not staying the night Gyu.” You mutter, pushing back the strands of hair that are falling into his eyes. He frowns, “Yes you are.”
“No I’m not.”
“Yes you are.”
“Mingyu, I have a meeting at work in the morning.”
“And I’ll drive you there.” Mingyu offers and you giggle, shaking your head at him. He whines, making a grabby hand towards you, and you bite the inside of your cheek.
Mingyu has come to realize that he sleeps a lot better when he’s holding you after the first time you let him spend the night a couple weeks ago. He realizes he shouldn’t have let himself get so attached to you, but he just wants one more night. One more night with you.
“Please?” Mingyu asks in a softer voice, and you sigh. You nod your head, grabbing the shirt and walking into his bathroom to change, before waddling back over to the bed and climbing in. It’s like second nature to you and Mingyu when you both go into your cuddling position. With you draping your arm and leg over him, and Mingyu wrapping his arm and leg around you. He rubs your back, and you slowly find yourself falling asleep.
“Don’t forget that you promised to drive me to my meeting tomorrow.” You mumble before you fall asleep, and Mingyu nods his head.
Mingyu watches as your breathing evens out, and he knows that you’re asleep. He stares at you for a moment, finding that you look so pure when you sleep. There’s no frown to your forehead, no tiredness to your eyes, you’re just at peace. He presses a kiss to your forehead, before letting out a sad smile.
“I’m sorry, yn.”
“You hear that your boyfriend is releasing a game tomorrow night?” Chan asks as the two of you walk back to your office from the meeting on how far along your guys’ game development is going. You giggle at the term, and nod your head, feeling a sense of pride at the sleepless nights Mingyu has spent on working on the release of his game.
“Yeah, he’s been working hard on the last minute touches. I had to drag him out of his office at like, one am last night. I plan to surprise him after his launch party.” You tell Chan as you enter your office. You sit down in your seat, placing your notes down by your keyboard, and Chan takes off his blazer and hangs it on the back of the chair before sitting down.
“Has he told you anything about the game?” Chan asks, and you shake your head with a smile. “I told him I wanted him to surprise me, so I don’t know anything about it other than the little pieces of info I got from Eunwoo at the gala a few months ago.”
Chan nods his head, letting out a grin at the happiness radiating from you as you login to your computer. Chan chuckles, “Who would’ve thought that by you going to the gala to get intel on the enemy, you ended up falling for the man?”
You smile, shrugging your shoulders in response. You mutter how life works in mysterious ways, and Chan agrees wholeheartedly based on how life has turned out for you.
Everything is going great so far. The development of your new game is on its last stages, and you’re so happy seeing your characters come to life on the screen from what your employees have shown you. It’s one of your best works yet.
And you’re finally dating after years of just dedicating all your time into work. Chan hasn’t seen you so happy before, and he’s so glad to see you glowing. So Chan reaches over and rests his hand over yours, giving it a small pat, and you let out a smile.
“I’m proud of you, yn.” Your eyes fill with fondness as you stare at your best friend who has been with you since the very beginning, and you feel your heart swell with love. “Thank you Chan, I love you.”
Eunwoo and Mingyu eat silently as they look over the game character designs and the gameplay. Mingyu can’t help but feel a sense of guilt as he stares at them, and he mentally slaps himself for feeling that way. Eunwoo glances at him, taking in the furrow between Mingyu’s eyebrows, and he lets out a sigh. Mingyu turns to look at him, “What?”
“If you feel guilty, then why did you suggest to even do this?” Eunwoo asks, and Mingyu scoffs. “I don’t feel guilty.”
Eunwoo rolls his eyes, reaching out and poking the prominent furrow that’s been hanging out between Mingyu’s eyebrows the whole day they’ve been working. The game release is tomorrow night, and they’re still here at the office working. Mingyu whines, rubbing the area that Eunwoo poked, and Eunwoo lets out a grin. “Lying is for sinners.”
Mingyu lets out a cocky grin, eyes turning red for emphasis, “Good thing I’m not a virtue.”
Eunwoo lets out a tired sigh, pushing Mingyu’s face away, causing the sin to let out a laugh at his friend’s antics. Eunwoo is the only one who knows of Mingyu’s true form, it was an accident honestly.
“I’m so sick of this fake love! Fake love! Fake love!” Eunwoo raises an eyebrow at the sound of Mingyu’s singing, and he steps into his friend’s room to see the tall man dancing in front of his mirror. His eyes are glowing a bright red rather than the deep brown he’s known him for. Mingyu pauses, slowly turning the sound down on his phone when he locks eyes with Eunwoo, and he turns his eyes back to brown.
“Eunwoo, let me explain-”
Eunwoo passes out onto the floor.
Mingyu’s just lucky that Eunwoo’s his best friend and didn’t have any plans on outing him for being one of the seven deadly sins. However, he’s both blessed and cursed on the fact that Eunwoo can read him better than an open book.
“You love her, don’t you?” Eunwoo watches as Mingyu turns rigid, and he tilts his head at him. Mingyu turns back towards the screen, choosing to ignore the way his heart throbs at the thought of you and him slow dancing in the kitchen the other night. Eunwoo decides to press him a bit more, “Gyu?”
“I’m the Sin of Envy, there’s no such thing as love for me.” Mingyu mutters, making himself look like he’s staring intently at the gameplay on the screen. Eunwoo runs a hand through his hair, taking a sip of his water. “But you love her.”
Mingyu bites his lip, choosing to stay quiet as his response. The silence is everything Eunwoo needed to know, and so he leans back into his seat and stares at Mingyu a bit longer. Mingyu turns to glance at him after a moment of silence, and he sees the judgmental expression on his best friend’s face. “What?”
Eunwoo just shakes his head, glancing over at the journal full of notes about the game before saying, “You could live a hundred lifetimes, and never deserve that girl.”
Mingyu turns back towards the game, seeing the characters come to life on the screen, and he bites the inside of his cheek. He nods his head slowly, knowing what he’s going to lose as he quietly mutters, “I know.”
Mingyu takes a sip of water as he looks at himself in the mirror, deciding that he looks good. He glances down at his phone when he hears a ding, letting out a smile when he sees your text on the screen.
yn: good luck !! i’m so proud of you, can’t wait to beat you at the game stinky >:D
Mingyu looks back up when he hears that it’s almost time for the game to launch, and he stands up from the seat. He turns around to see Eunwoo standing there, and he tries to ignore the disappointed expression on his best friend’s face.
“You know you can still stop this, right?” Eunwoo insists, and Mingyu shakes his head at his friend. He bites the inside of his cheek, ignoring the feeling of guilt that’s building up in his conscience. He finds that emotion annoying, guilt. He’s the Sin of Envy, how is he able to feel that?
“Because you fell in love.” Eunwoo states. Mingyu’s eyes widen, turning to Eunwoo and wondering how he could hear his thoughts, who briefly explains that Mingyu said it out loud.
“You can stop this, Mingyu. You’re going to ruin something you’ve been blessed with. Just listen to me-” Mingyu raises his hand up at Eunwoo, stopping him from speaking. Eunwoo lets out a tired sigh, and Mingyu gives him a smile.
“Let’s go celebrate our game launch.” Mingyu says, and walks out of the room. Eunwoo bites the inside of his cheek, before following after his friend.
While you hangout with Chan at his house, staring at the TV that displays OGN. They’re about to announce Ainsoft’s game launch and show the commercial for it as well. You let out an excited smile, seeing that Chan is staring at the TV expectantly.
“Oh! It’s 8:00!” You exclaim, and right as you say that, you see Mingyu’s pre-recorded announcement of the launch of the game. “He looks so handsome…”
“Okay we get it, you have a boyfriend.” Chan jokes, and you let out a laugh. You watch as Mingyu gestures to the large screen beside him on the TV, and it zooms into it as the commercial begins to play.
Your smile slowly drops from your face when the main character shows up on the screen, and Chan squints at the TV. “Wait a minute.”
You raise a hand to your mouth when the other characters start coming in, hearing the voice in the back of the video explaining the gameplay and the adventure the characters have to go on. You stand up from the couch with shaking knees, and Chan looks over at you.
This is your game. This is your creation. This is the game you’ve spent months working on.
It’s gone.
All of it is gone.
“Wait, yn-” Chan begins as you grab your car keys from the table. You walk towards the door, ignoring Chan’s calls as you hurry to get to your car. “Yn, you’re not in the right frame of mind to drive.”
You feel Chan grasp your arm and you shake it off, pointing at him with a shaking hand. The anger that Chan feels is not even close to the betrayal you must be feeling as he notices there’s no trace of happiness to you anymore. “Let me go.”
So Chan lets go, and you step out of his house. You quickly walk to your car, pushing back the tears so that you can be able to see as you drive. Millions of thoughts flow through your head as you back out of Chan’s driveway and speed down the street towards Mingyu’s house.
Was that his agenda all along? When did he get the info on your whole game? Is that why he spent so much time with you?
You bite your lip when you think,
Did he ever even love you?
“Great job on the game guys, it’ll be a big hit.” Mingyu tells his employees over by the glasses of champagne. They all smile and tell them their thanks, and he waves his hand at them, saying that this wouldn’t have happened without their help.
Eunwoo stares from across the room, drinking the sweet champagne that he knows you enjoy so much. However, it just tastes bitter once it goes down, reminding him of the sin he’s committed as he watches Mingyu act like everything’s fine.
He stands up straight when he hears the front door open behind him over the chatter, turning around to see you walking in. Eunwoo’s eyes widen, and he reaches out to stop you but you push his hand away. “Don’t fucking touch me.”
You walk over to the glasses of champagne, and grab one. Mingyu’s employees stare with wide eyes when they take notice of you, wondering what you’re even doing at their launch party. Mingyu raises an eyebrow at their sudden silence, and he turns in the direction that they’re staring in, only to get a face full of champagne.
“What the fuck?” Mingyu growls, wiping his eyes so that he can see who did it. Only for his heart to drop when he locks eyes with you. You’re standing there, eyes full of rage as you stare at the man that you love, the one who betrayed you.
“Yn.” Mingyu breathes out, and you bite the inside of your cheek.
“You fucking BITCH!” You scream, slapping Mingyu across the face, and the whole room turns silent at your outburst. You reach out to start shoving him, but he grasps your wrists to stop you. Mingyu glances around at his employees, and he gestures for them to leave, to which they slowly do. Once the living room is empty except for Eunwoo, he finally lets go of your arms, and you shove him away.
“You stole my game. You stole my fucking work!” You yell, and Mingyu just stands before you, face void of any emotion as he lets you scream at him. You tightly squeeze the glass between your hand, and Mingyu’s eyes widen when the glass shatters within your grasp. He tries to reach out to remove it from your hand but you step back, the blood from the wound dripping down your wrist as you stare at him.
“Was this your plan from the beginning? Since the gala?” You ask, and Mingyu stares. You bite the inside of your cheek, reaching out to grab another glass, but Mingyu steps forward and blocks your view of the table so that you can’t grab it. You throw the remainder of the broken champagne glass in your hand towards the floor, hearing it shatter into thousands of tiny pieces.
“Answer me!” You shout, and Mingyu slowly nods his head. You stare down at the floor, and you feel nothing but betrayal running through your veins. You look back up into his eyes, and you wonder how you allowed yourself to be so naive.
“So you just used me.” You mutter, and Mingyu just stares as he watches you break right before him. His hand twitches at his side as he holds back from falling onto his knees to beg for forgiveness, because this was all his fault.
“How did you even do that? How did you even find out about my characters? The plot-” You pause when you remember the nights he spent at your house, the days he’d surprise you at your office to go get lunch. They were all just a ploy to get more information. You let out a pained laugh when you realize he must’ve gone through your stuff when you were asleep, while you were thinking he was holding you at night.
how pathetic.
You open the palm of your hand, staring at the tiny pieces of broken glass that have edged themselves into your skin. The blood continues to trickle down, and you know that you’ll have to get stitches, but for some reason, you can’t feel any pain.
Mingyu takes a step forward when he sees the severity of your wound, “Yn, let’s go to the hospital so you can get stitches-”
You push him away, pointing directly at him with your other hand. You press the area where his heart is with your finger, and you bite your bottom lip harshly when you feel it beat beneath your finger. The familiar pattern is something you’ve gotten used to from the times the two of you have cuddled.
“You made me trust you, fall in love with you, just so you could steal my game? My work? Just to get on top? Just to be above me? Were you that envious of me?” You ask, and Eunwoo glances down at his feet when he hears how fragile your voice has become. Mingyu just stares at you, and he feels his heart break within his chest when he notices the glassiness to your eyes. He no longer sees anger or rage, he can only see the pain and betrayal in your gaze.
There’s no trace of all the stars that he once saw.
“Did you even,” Your voice cracks, and you don’t realize the tears have formed in your eyes until you can only see Mingyu as a blurry blob. You blink, and Mingyu watches as the first tear escapes from your left eye, and falls onto the floor. “Did you even love me?”
Mingyu stares at you in silence, the answer on the tip of his tongue as you look up at him with tears silently falling from your eyes. He looks down at the floor instead, breaking eye contact with you, and you have your answer. You let out a pained laugh, taking a step back as you stare at the man you love.
The one who betrayed you.
The one who broke you.
The one who lied.
“Fuck you, Kim Mingyu.” You state, before turning away and walking out of his house. The sound of the door slamming echoes through the home, and that’s when the tears finally fall from Mingyu’s eyes. He watches as they fall to the floor, mixing with your blood.
Eunwoo leans against the wall, and he runs a hand through his hair as he watches Mingyu just stare at the floor in silence. He stands up at his full height, and he claps his hands. Mingyu glances up at the sound, finding Eunwoo just standing there, applauding him.
“Well. Was it worth it, Sin of Envy?” Eunwoo asks, pulling out his phone and turning the screen around to show that Ainsoft is now above Bloom in the market. Mingyu watches as the numbers keep rising, and he just stares at it.
A few months ago, Mingyu would’ve been ecstatic to see that he was above you. The craving to beat you and earn your spot would’ve been fulfilled.
But now, all Mingyu feels is pain.
And so he smiles at Eunwoo, and his friend takes notice of the tears falling from Mingyu’s eyes as he responds,
“No. No it wasn’t.”

loki series discourse thoughts dump: (I’ve been hanging onto them)
- honestly, I’m not touching the selfcest=problematic discourse because I think you can guess my feelings (who cares, it’s hot tho right? hahaha also not the worst thing I’ve ever shipped so) and also I vehemently agree with the twitter thread that’s like ‘....y’all know this is not a scenario you will ever have to face in real life, right?’ like, this is the ultimate fantastical ship, it’s been around for years before this, I do not care that people are upset about it
- I think one of the problems, for me, with the ‘is it objectively good or bad’ discourse is that the negative takes are so negative sometimes that it genuinely makes me question my perception of reality and my ability to critically view television. like, I’m talking about the ‘the effects are the worst and amateurish and it sucks’ sort of hyperbole. (I thought for the most part the effects were quite good, which is why the couple times they were bad really stuck out to me). or ‘they had no chemistry!’ (I actually thought the chemistry was great, particularly in their first episode together, I was really surprised by how quickly I was like ‘oh but I like this dynamic). things like that where they’re either of a subjective nature or they are problems, points if I were inclined to write a larger critique I may have mentioned as well...but they’re perhaps not as big a problem as some people are making them out to be, which is what’s throwing me off.
- this also I think, comes from ‘contextual reviewing’ or in this case the lack thereof. like when I talk about it being good, I’m not saying it’s prestige television. but I’m placing it against its direct competitors - the disney+ series: The Mandalorian, Wandavision, Falcon & Winter Soldier most directly, but also its similar genre shows. for me, the series was right up there with The Mandalorian and a bit better overall than Wandavision, but was it Dark? Was it Altered Carbon? No, but if I want those things....I’m not going to the MCU for that. I was entertained, which is about as deep as I expect out of it. And yeah, the ground is soft and I’m ready to dig for those buried themes, but I’m also not super bothered because I think Loki fit really well into the MCU
(*and if you think this is just me bootlicking disney or whatever, accepting mediocrity from the mouse, I think this problem of contextual reviewing is something that exists even not talking about the mouse. like, I have different standards for a show if I know it originally premiered on SyFy or the CW, versus HBO or AMC, versus Netflix or Amazon, and I have a whole longer post to be made about why some shows are struggling in the age of prestige tv, because we’re flattening the context and holding shows that would have been perfectly well-received on SyFy to HBO standards and I do think it’s sometimes unfortunate and perfectly fun shows get raked over the coals because they’re not performing to prestige TV’s standards)
- I’m starting to see a potential evolution of my predicted conspiracy. still not as intense as tjlc just the rumblings but I gotta say. Cut it out. it is inappropriate to speculate on the personal relationships of actors. It is doubly inappropriate to with no evidence make vague accusations of an intensely personal nature. leaving this one vague. but just...speculating on accusations of a personal nature because you are disappointed in a tv show is inappropriate. stop it.
- that being said I’m also operating on the assumption that the ‘let’s get a protest mob to tom hiddleston’s house’ anon is trolling but still. stop it. seriously. it’s inappropriate. the show was perfectly fine. it may have disappointed you and you have absolutely every right to be disappointed but you do not have the right to attack people who were doing a job, even if you didn’t like the end result. they pitched a show. their pitch was accepted. they made the show. that’s it.
- speaking of, an interesting observation I’ve had throughout the show’s run is how the fandom seems to feel we’re at war with the creators. a lot of putting them down like ‘[theory] but they wouldn’t be smart enough for that’ or bitching about ‘Michael Waldron’s OCs’. Michael Waldron’s job is to write OCs. he has to make characters for Loki to play off of and to further the plot. There is no reason to assume that fanfiction writers are better or smarter or care more than original content creators. in general, canon content creators are held to different parameters than fic writers. honestly, even calling them OCs feels weird to me because creating new characters and worlds is the literal job of the canon creators? but I guess it also makes sense in a way because they are creating new characters in a world already establish but...I don’t know. it’s different somehow. further articulation on this point required.
I think that’s it for me - I probably have some more episode-specific points to contend, but I think that’s it for my general discourse opinions, just to know where I’m standing at this point. I was really entertained, I hadn’t looked forward to a weekly airing of a show this much since the second season of The Mandalorian finished up. As I said last night, looking forward to the multiverse fallout and season 2 and the other films in the lineup!

HELLO.
I just wanted to say that I love, love, love your tags on that character/tool post a lot! Some of my favorite shows/books involve characters that can't keep it together and just barely make it to the end of the story or make it there in an "inconvenient way" and tbh I find that usually the narratives that follow these characters don't really work away from them either--the narrative is just usually more questioning instead of fully formed.
Like, 'what if/how would', y'know? There's less of a clear meaning and more just 'what if they hadn't done that. what if they had done that. what if all that meant nothing. what if that struggle was all there was'.
But oh boy, when they DO work away from the narrative. *chefs kiss*
I mean, most of my favorite Bleach characters are narrative nightmares who either hinder or cut off lines of theme in the story entirely. And, in general, I think there are A LOT of characters in shonen--a genre known for very long narratives that can't possibly complete every thought but also can't just abandon all those characters introduced ESPECIALLY the fan favorites or personal favorites--work in the way you described.
Tbh i think your tags really highlight why so many ppl get drawn to these characters/why they're so fun to play with in fanfiction.
If you have more to add or more thoughts about this you want to lay down I am here, eagerly awaiting and ready to pick them up.
Also, who do you think in Bleach is the most fun characters who sort of drop kicked the story, in your opinion? Who's the one you like the most? And who's the one you dislike the most?
[For posterity the referenced post is this one.]
Aww, thank you! That’s really lovely to hear. I was anxious about even putting it in tags because I don’t think I presently have the capacity to explain it well—and even if I did might still sound bananas to many. Or at least the bit about negotiating with characters and how *they* feel about being subjects in stories. Because as much as that really is my practice saying it out loud takes me back to like… FFN in 2003 where every store was prefaced by extensive chat-form back-and-forths between the fic author and their character "musies" and that is not something I think fandom would benefit from bringing back in force, hahaha. But anyway.
Here’s the part where I disappoint because I don’t think I actually know Bleach well enough to speak to it in this context. WHICH SOUNDS DUMB EVEN AS I TYPE IT BECAUSE LOL WTF IS THE NAME OF THIS BLOG WE ARE CHARLATANS AND POSERS FOR CLAIMING AS OUR NAMESAKE NOT ONE BLEACH BUT THREE BLEACHES but truly, my experience of Bleach has a shallow depth of field. I feel like I have weirdly intimate knowledge of some severe rabbit holes but a non-existent to uneasy sense of the gestalt.
Like idek man, in my "slow re-read where I am actually paying attention" Ichigo hasn’t even met Byakuya and Renji yet. ToT
I'm gonna put this behind a cut because it spidered all over the place, but in summary:
characters and their capacity to produce narrative failure
the charm of longform serialized series and their invitations to imagine stuff
me attempting to talk about Hitsugaya and feeling a fool, as usual
I guess in general terms, I’m really interested in characters and their capacity to produce narrative failure. Not failure as in 'bad' but failure as in things that break form or are circuitous or are actively detrimental to a narrative arc. All my strongest examples of what I’m thinking of are from a different fandom and therefore not relevant to this blog, alas. By comparison I think anyone in Bleach can keep it together better than the characters that are immediately coming to mind, lol. But I think this idea dovetails often with trauma narratives, or depression narratives, because these things are often… non-narrative? Like, there’s no fourth or fifth for minor fall or major lift. Sometimes it’s the same thing over and over again, or maybe nothing. Maybe it’s the exact same self-sabotage narrative dictates could have been avoided. Maybe it’s some act that emanates forth but cannot be explained because it cannot be explained and will never be explained. That’s a version of what I’m talking about, in any case, though not the only version.
Your note about longform shounen definitely resonates with me, too. In my mind I don’t like long things and I prefer series that are more self-contained but whenever I have ever landed in a long-term fandom, with a piece of media I felt obliged to carve out chunks of my life for, and to interact with at that level of creative fannishness, it’s always been something stupid long and serialized by the seat of its pants. I know plot holes or dropped threads bother a lot of people (makes total sense, don’t get me wrong) but I find these things incredibly attractive. I see them as invitations to join in the fun. Especially when it’s so much a part of the form and genre to have this, as you said, lack of real expectation that every thread will be followed to its conclusion (or that it would be worthwhile to do so) and every thought completed.
There’s this piece by David Grann that was published in The New Yorker in 2004 that I really love that speaks to part of this idea, albeit in terms of fictional universes versus fictional characters. But Grann is talking about Sherlock Holmes (Doyle original) and the ways that Sherlockians would like, approach apparent lapses in narrative and then solve them according to the established rules of the universe. I just love that. There’s also the line, "Never had so much been written by so many for so few," which LOL if that ain’t fandom I don’t know what is!!
I feel like I’m actually talking about three distinct but related facets of these thoughts in this post, except all at once and without clear transition, uhhhhh.
Gah, I am broken and now can ONLY think of examples from my not-Bleach fandom, but to try a different tack and add yet another facet to this already funhouse-mirror post, my various attempts to write Hitsugaya often feel like they come up against a version of this. I think Hitsugaya has aggressive side character energy, and I find it difficult to make him the center of a story and have it feel right to me. He feels different to me than writing other minor characters, where they can be the center of their own stories even if their story is not the main story. Like, two of my fave characters in my other fandom have literally like… three lines in 350+ episodes and it feels easier to imagine THEM at the center of their story and I think what it comes down to is that Hitsugaya probably prefers what he not be written. And when he does become more narrative I think he’d prefer that none of it was happening in the fist place. But at the same time he always seems to be…around??? whether there is really a good reason for him to be present or not. XD So while, say, he and Bartleby "would prefer not to" (because THAT'S what this post needs, a Melville reference), Bartleby actually opts out and Hitsugaya out here volunteering.
He also often feels non-narrative to me because he feels very declarative, if that makes sense? Like, the coming-to-decisions or coming-to-realizations parts of existence happen pretty quick, or are approached perfunctorily. I feel like I find narrative in the "coming" part of that equation and instead Hitsugaya will be like, well, I’ve already done that part without you, and/or plan to do that part in the future and it will still be without you, the audience. Anyway, here’s the determination I’ve made, here’s what I’m going to do, and here begins the long and probably tedious process of my doing that thing (off 2 go train in a cave for a bit). I don’t think he actually believes the world is that simple, Tab A into Slot B, but I do think he’s already made that assessment and can see coming to terms with that as a horizon, if that makes sense. So even if he doesn’t know the answer to something, or is completely at a loss of what to do (what to say to Hinamori? how to productively address the number Aizen’s done on him) there’s still not necessarily a story there. Maybe the answer is you grind, and it is repetitive and boring. Maybe you just hold things. There’s not even the act of learning how to hold things, necessarily, just the practice of doing so.
Wow, that probably doesn’t sound good! I feel like I need to suffix this with the assurance that Hitsugaya is my absolute runaway character in the whole series and this was true 15 years ago and it is still true now (truer, even) and everything I just said are reasons why I love him.
#i feel like this is one of those 'well.... that sure was a Post' situations#and i will have to try to articulate this better in the future#probably multiple times#ideally with concrete explicated examples for the sake of clarity lol#but please take this as an invitation to talk about YOUR read of Bleach/Bleach characters and/or elaborate on your also excellent tags

some disorganized thoughts on bly manor now that i’ve had some time to digest it
i’ll start with things i liked:
-obviously i appreciated a lesbian love story front and center. that was a great pleasant surprise -i liked the idea of hopping between memories and the memories warping and changing and replaying -the dollhouse was creepy af and frankly underutilized -the kid who played miles cracked me tf up -i watched a single season of izombie years ago and have liked rahul kohli ever since so it was nice to see him in something! -i like these anthology ideas with different actors reappearing. i spent most of the season like “i’m sure theo is in this but where is she??” hahaha
i think this felt like a solid B draft to me... like not a first draft, but not quite as good as it might’ve been had it gone through another round of reworking. i like a lot of the fundamentals -- most of the characters are likable except the ones you aren’t meant to like, i like the cast, i like different bits of the concepts, i like the twist of “it’s a love story”.... but many of those separate threads never fully came together for me
we saw almost every major twist coming, literally from ep 1 we were like “hannah’s a ghost”. i dunno if i count this as a point off or not, because you want stories to be logically written and have foreshadowing you can follow, but it would’ve been nice to have any big surprises a la Nellie/Bent Neck Lady. plus, in the case of edmund i correctly guessed it was headlights/taillights reflecting off glasses, but i was disappointed because i thought Dani’s dark secret would be murder~ (or manslaughter i guess, accidental) and perhaps she’d backed up into some guy, and she’d seen it too late in her rearview mirror, which is why he always appeared in mirrors... but nope. the mirror connection was arbitrary and she was not at fault at all. i mean, i get why she was upset, but considering we spent several episodes thinking dani had murdered/accidentally killed someone, the reveal of “he got hit by a car in front of me and i had nothing to do with it” was an anticlimax lol.
every character got a really long soliloquy that was Too Long. hill house was prone to pretentious dialogue as well, but when it’s pretentious dialogue for a solid 5 minutes of one character talking, it got to be a bit much. and I like these people! so it’s not like the basic level of my interest wasn’t there, it just ...stretched on. a lot of this website probably disagrees, but jamie’s moonflower speech is the key example of this for me. i feel like we got the gist of what her life had been like and why she was the way she was in the first third of it, and then it just went on... and on...
then other things that just felt like they came up but weren’t tied together satisfactorily: peter and rebecca. i loved the turn at the end of... what, episode 7 I think?, where peter-miles leaves and you find out rebecca is undermining his plan and wants to save the kids and dani. that was a relief, since i spent the previous episode like ‘why the FUCK is rebecca on board with this’, and i thought we were building to some sort of peter/miles-rebecca-flora-dani confrontation... but then the lady of the lake interrupted and dominated the entire end of the series
which in some ways of course she did -- you don’t hear about “the lady in the lake” at the start of a haunted show and not have her center stage at some point -- but could we not have tied those two things together better?
i’m also not opposed to sad endings in this genre -- i am one of the people who thinks hill house should’ve gone with its original bleak ending lol -- but the tragedy felt a little strangely doled out. owen & hannah needed more screentime towards the end with actual-owen, I think? owen needed more to do writ large. rebecca’s story felt unfinished and rebecca in general never felt like a fully realized character -- which is part of why i was so excited when she was revealed to be working against peter, but then it barely went anywhere! (sensing an uncomfortable pattern...)
i found viola’s story strange... ok, so she’s lost her memory of everything except her walk, and she’s stuck there by sheer will, but when she’s in dani she doesn’t... change at all, or... she still just wants to be in the lake? no one ever dragged that damn lake when there’s so many bodies in it lmao? maybe finding a way to make viola at peace would’ve been too trite but i felt like the show had kind of set up for that and then didn’t go all the way with it.
ALSO... i get that bride flora “didn’t know” or whatever... but god her bawling @ this widowed lesbian the night before her marriage because what if he diiiiies one daaaaaaay we’re so perfect and happy waaaaaaaah was like.... obnoxious to me. lmfao
also it just wasn’t very scary imo. i apparently missed every background ghost because i saw, like, two, whereas in hill house i was ALWAYS on edge looking for them in that damn house lmao. in this one, there were a couple early scares but not many. dani’s fiance became routine, lol. peter quint was obviously just ghost peter quint. hill house did something similar, where the ghosts were slowly revealed and in essence became less scary -- ESPECIALLY bent neck lady who was terrifying af to start with lol but ultimately becomes tragic -- but i feel like hill house maintained the post-reveal scariness more effectively.
anyway I dunno, despite the above I didn’t hate it! I had fun watching it with friends and I will absolutely watch s3 The Haunting of Whatever to see this cast do other ghost stories. but it’s like a 6/10 for me. mostly it made me want to rewatch hill house. and maybe oculus.

Fireside Dreams, a Rose of Versailles ‘fic
Words: 5,176 Summary: Oscar was in love. Pairing/Character: Oscar/André Extra Info: This was originally posted on Fanfiction.net back in 2008. It is a full rewrite. Rating: I’d say T bordering on M, but it’s rated M on AO3 just to be safe. :) Genre: Romance and Friendship with a dash of Angst. Kind of character-study-ish, too.
Notes, if anyone’s interested in them.
All right, so...if you read the original version of this story, you’ll notice the rewrite is...very different.
A few little things:
I use the French manga as my usual reference, so you’ll see a lot of lines quoted that might not match up perfectly with the Japanese-to-English translations that many people are used to. There is one line I did pull from the Japanese though, I believe it was: “One eye isn’t too much to sacrifice for you, Oscar.”
The French version says, instead, “I’ll always be ready to sacrifice an eye for you, Oscar.” I like this too, but I don’t think it really conveys that deep emotional impact that the scene was supposed to have on the reader. Rather, it almost sounds goofy (since he only has one other eye to sacrifice)!
I guess I could have gone with a loose translation of the French (maybe, “If it’s for you, Oscar, I’ll sacrifice my other eye without complaint.”) but I wanted something the audience would be familiar with.
I do believe the intent of the original line is supposed to convey: 1) I’d do it again, 2) No regrets, and 3) harken back to André’s promise to put his life on the line for Oscar some day...even though the eye thing was a complete accident in the manga.
The lines for the lips I know are my creative translation of the French manga.
I feel like I shouldn’t HAVE to put translations for the French in here, but...I dunno. Why did I put them in the story like some kind of ouiaboo? Because there are some words that just don’t have the same meaning in English, my dudes.
Mon Dieu = My God!
d’accord = okay, yes, [agreement]
Whenever Oscar tells André to do anything, in the French manga, this is how he responds. I could have just written “okay,” but I can’t help but feel that it’s too informal/not respectful enough, and “yes ma’am” (which is closer to how I read it) just feels too formal.
Je t’aime = I love you. André shouts it over and over in The Incident Scene, which is what I’m referring to by using it.
I actually hate the title (“Fireside Dreams”) but I’ve known it as this for so long I couldn’t change it.
I changed the ending A LOT for reasons I’ll talk about below, but...I kept the cheesy last line. Well, I rewrote it, but I kept the general feeling of corniness that existed in the original!
------------------------------
Goals when writing this were as follows:
Try for a tone that felt as if it could have been part of the manga.
Eliminate André’s POV (more on this later).
Deep-dive into Oscar’s POV.
Treat the story like a fanficcified Character Study piece.
The manga tone thing was frustrating, because the manga lends itself to this really flowery, romantic language that I don’t actually think Oscar would use very often (mostly because the entire series tells us that she is Not That Kind of Person and I don’t appreciate her suddenly Becoming That Person Because Love). A lot of the fandom will disagree with me on this point, and that’s okay. I tried to strike more of a balance where Oscar thinks some of these types of things, but says Logical Oscar Things.
André’s POV originally came in when he did: at Oscar’s door. It also transitioned suddenly into third person omniscient from third person limited, aaaaand when I reread it...I didn’t like it. I felt like it made it harder to follow! The original was supposed to be more of Oscar’s story anyway, so I just committed to it in the rewrite. Overall I do feel this was better for the story, but I lost some lines I really liked from the original that were in André’s POV! Who knows, though, maybe they’ll make an appearance in another story, someday!
Regarding this story as a character study, though... Okay, I’ll try not to let this get long, because I haven’t eaten all day and it’s already getting late here, but I want to address this.
Something that always stuck with me about the manga was how Oscar confessed her love to André quite early on compared to the anime, and how it felt to have their relationship evolve before the end of the series (when she asks André to marry her).
1. I am always ALWAYS ALWAYS a sucker for the woman to ask the man to marry them, ESPECIALLY in period dramas, and
2. See the image below.
Oscar as a character has always interested me greatly, and been highly #relatable, but on my last rewatch I feel like I understand her better than I ever did as an early 20-something.
Despite being in a relationship with André when she asks him to make her his wife, she’s still afraid of actually following through with the act! That’s not something we get to see in the media very often, so I enjoyed getting a peek at it in Rose of Versailles.
Additionally, I felt that Oscar’s whole romance arc was kind of its own character study for her in the canon. She spends most of her life being efficient and logical. Love confuses her. Feelings are difficult to navigate and express. She would not have defended André so passionately I think if she did not love him, but when faced with those feelings she doesn’t even tell him she cares. If the author wanted to make Oscar astute/in tune with her own feelings, she could have written that scene a hundred different ways, but instead we get “I didn’t do it for you, I did it for Nanny! Hahaha!” Part of Oscar’s issue is most assuredly due to the way she was raised, but I feel it didn’t create that character trait so much as it expanded upon it.
Anyway, something difficult to put into words is Oscar’s wondering in the story about being “broken.” I’m writing this from a very specific perspective, but I feel like Oscar’s feeling is relatable to many different types of people. I mean, raise your hand if you’ve ever felt like you were broken, if there was something deeply wrong with you. Now raise it higher if you feel that way and yet...you’re also pretty satisfied with yourself and like who you are, and you don’t really wish to change.
Oscar’s in an interesting position. She’s a woman who identifies as a woman, but she lives as a man. She wears men’s clothes, she does men’s work, she has men’s hobbies, and she’s expected to publicly Act Like a Man. She’s good at these things. She enjoys these things. She delights in her own skill, and has a lot of fun springing the fact that she’s a woman on poor unsuspecting people (like Rosalie, lol) while also shooting down things typically associated with being a woman (like when she glared at André for suggesting she had an understanding of something because of women’s intuition). It’s easy to understand Oscar’s POV: she wants to be free to be herself, and that means picking and choosing from gender stereotypes as she sees fit, identifying herself as what she is and what she is not.
At the end of the day, Oscar is...Oscar...which is how I imagine André feels about it.
I’m sure if you read the story, and you went out of your way to read this far, you probably have a personally complex view of Oscar yourself, so please don’t feel as if my view of her has to match yours. Everyone will read her a little differently!
I wanted to explore the confusion that Oscar feels. The confusion that makes her put on a dress even though she isn’t comfortable in one, the confusion of falling for someone you already knew from the beginning was unattainable (though I didn’t go into detail on this particular point), the difficulty in expressing feelings when you’ve been raised to not do that, and the understanding that different does not mean broken.
Oscar is not broken. You are not broken. I am not broken.
------------------------------
One last note about this story, and it’s related to The Incident Scene. I’m choosing to interpret it in my own way, so if it’s different than yours, I hope my interpretation wasn’t too jarring!
I look at the scene, particularly in the manga, to be kind of a Domino Effect of less-than-stellar choices. Oscar tries to communicate her feelings but does a very poor job of it, and in the process hurts the person she’s trying to communicate with. As a result, he makes a bad choice and hurts her in turn. I don’t feel that any of the hurt was intentional (these two people love each other, after all), but circumstances have put them into positions where some kind of hurt was inevitable.
André undoubtedly would have been rejected by Oscar no matter when he confessed (just because she wouldn’t be mentally capable of processing it quickly enough to spare him), but he chose to confess to an Oscar 1) as part of an emotional outburst/explosion, and 2) physically.
Oscar is not used to Intimate physical contact, and understandably freaks out. She’s also not used to André as a Passionate Person. He’s always been so mellow! It’s frightening to her on multiple levels.
NOTHING EXCUSES ANDRE, BY THE WAY! Taking his frustration and sorrow and fear and emotion out on Oscar was terrible.
But context is important, I think, to understand how manga!Oscar forgives him before he even leaves her rooms. André’s outburst was never about him being horny, or him wanting to be intimate with Oscar. If you look closely I think it’s clear that it’s a chain of André trying to communicate to her in turn, and failing repeatedly until he rips her shirt (that he’s already holding onto)—something I don’t believe he meant to do, or he wouldn’t feel such immediate shame for it.
It was an outburst of fear that she was abandoning him. It was an explosion of all the love he legally wasn’t allowed to feel for years of his life. It was frustration and sorrow over seeing the person he loves best denying Who She Is in the face of an unrequited crush.
I never felt that André was insisting she was a woman instead of the man she wanted to be so much as he was insisting that Oscar Is Oscar, and she cannot change that, and shouldn’t change it out of fear or embarrassment AS WELL AS SAYING, “You are who you are and I LOVE YOU FOR THAT! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!! PLEASE HEAR ME AND DON’T HURT YOURSELF BY TRYING TO BE SOMEONE YOU’RE NOT!”
Unfortunately André fails to speak plainly enough and the whole thing Backfires. (Now you can consider how he was raised to speak to his betters.)
I know all of the above wasn’t necessary to read the story (or even afterward), but I thought it would assist if anyone read my ‘fic and came away from it wondering if they’d read/watched a completely different version of The Incident.
If you made it this far, thanks for reading! I sure hope you leave a comment over on AO3, since you can do so anonymously, and Feedback Is Life!! ♥

Do you usually take blame or blame others? Depends on the context, I guess? When things go wrong on a very deep and personal level between me and people I deeply care for, I usually try to find reasons to blame myself. But if it’s something superficial, like if someone messes up at work through no fault of my own, then I’m able to point my finger to whoever fucked up.
Have you ever been to a McDonald’s in another state? I’ve been to McDonald’s in different provinces and also in different countries. The McDonald’s we went to in Baguio was so surreal because we discovered that they were still using styrofoam containers that they had already phased out years ago everywhere else, and they also never changed the original spaghetti and chicken recipes I grew up with. It was such a blast from the past. As for other countries, I’ve tried out the McDonald’s in Malaysia, Indonesia, and China and made sure to order items that we didn’t have back home.
Have you ever seen 50 First Dates? Yeah, it’s one of my semi-guilty pleasures. It’s such a cheesy movie, but idk the concept is unique and the supporting characters made the whole movie enjoyable for me.
Do you like or hate the smell of fish? The fishy smell at the market can be pretty strong and bleck, but generally I don’t mind the smell of fish. I live in an archipelago, man. We live and breathe seafood. Idk anyone in real life who doesn’t like fish.
Have you ever been to Sea World? No.
Do you know someone who suffers from short term memory loss? I don’t think so, no.
Have you ever read any of John Green’s books? Yeah, but the only one I’ve gotten to read in full was The Fault In Our Stars. I also got to start on The Abundance of Katherines and Paper Towns, but because I only borrowed those copies from friends I never got to read either until the end. All were okay, but I don’t find John Green’s writing to be as great as it was once hyped up to be.
If so, which one is your favorite? I guess TFIOS, since that’s the only one I got to read through to the end.
Are you a protective person? With my loved ones and pets, yes.
Have you ever experienced an earthquake? Yeah I’ve felt a lot but fortunately it’s never been a severe one. Just super brief earthquakes where the most that happened to me was a little swaying.
Would you rather go to a beach or city for a vacation? I love beaches, but a change in scenery would also be nice because I already go to beaches for vacations fairly often. City.
Does your license plate number contain the number 8? I never actually memorized my plate number LOOOOOOL I think so? It’s either a 6 or 8.
Were you ever a ghost on Halloween? Nope.
Has someone ever held the door open for you? Yeah, security guards tend to do that for customers/guests. Sometimes, nice strangers that I enter a place with will do it for me too.
Are you a fan of penguins? I think fan is pushing it far lol. I like penguins, but I’m not obsessed.
Have you ever stayed up all night on a school night? Just a handful of times, and it was always as part of a groupwork. I’d never willingly go through an all-nighter for myself.
What’s your favorite brand of chips? Doritos or Pringles. We also have a local brand that makes these deeeeeelicious salted egg chips, but I’ve never actually taken note of what the brand is.
Has anyone ever sang to you? Not to me. But a lot of people have sung around me.
Are you a good painter? No. That’s why I opt for paint-by-number kits, because those come with a guide haha. I can’t actually craft images by myself – that skill belongs to my sister who has an insane talent for painting.
Before buying a car, do you usually test drive it? I’ve never bought a car by myself; my dad takes care of the car purchases. I know he test-drove the Vitara, but idk about the other cars we have.
Have you ever written a poem and then read it aloud? Hmm, I don’t write poems. I don’t find the vast majority of them appealing, and only once in a while will there be a poem that is able to speak to me.
Do you like pineapple? Nope.
Have you ever met your favorite author? I don’t have a favorite.
Do you look more like your mom or dad? Most comments point to my mom, but I’ll get the occasional remark that half of my face is my dad’s as well. I’m a good mix of both.
Have you and your best friend ever liked the same person? This hasn’t happened before.
When was the last time someone called you babe or baby? Maybe August? I’m not too sure. It’s been a few months.
Do you have an older brother? No. But I’m super close with my eldest cousin on my mom’s side and we grew up together and all that, and I pretty much consider him my older brother. He’s definitely more a brother than a cousin to me, and it has always felt and been that way.
Are you a fan of art? Yes, especially paintings and dioramas.
Did you get your mom or dad’s eyes? My mom’s, I think? I really don’t know, I’m bad at recognizing this kind of stuff. You’d have to ask people who actually see me on a daily basis.
Have you ever seen the movie My Girl? Is this the one with the really sad scene of a boy’s funeral and the girl’s like, “He can’t see without his glasses”? I haven’t seen the movie, but I’ve heard about that scene a million times.
Do you watch Teen Wolf on MTV? Ugh, MTV’s teen shows are such a cringefest to me. I never followed it, but I’ve had to watch a few eps back in high school when my friends would watch it while we were at someone’s place. Not my cup of tea.
When it was on, did you watch Cory In The House on Disney? I watched a few episodes, especially when it was still new. But we were also in the process of moving then and we didn’t have cable for a few years in our new house, so I had to miss out most of it.
Do you have any blackheads? I don’t.
Do you have any freckles? Nope.
Do you have a movie that you have to watch during the summer every year? No, but I have something similar. I like watching Love Actually at least once every year, during the Christmas season. I like watching Two for The Road once a year as well, regardless of the time of year.
Do you think that life isn’t fair sometimes? I mean yeah. It doesn’t revolve around me, so I know it won’t always be fair.
When was the last time someone bought you flowers? Valentine’s Day last year.
What was the last book you read? Midnight Sun. Haven’t touched it since September, though.
How many books do you plan to read this summer? It’s past summer, and I haven’t been doing a lot of reading in general.
Does your house have a dishwasher? No, not a common appliance here.
Do you know anyone who has a flower tattoo? I probably do. But I haven’t seen people outside of family for so long that I can barely remember who has which tattoos. I’m pretty sure I know someone who has flowers.
Do you like the name Carter? It just reminds me of the underwear brand honestly, so not a fan.
Have you ever had a secret admirer? No. Should there be one, they shouldn’t be having high hopes; I wouldn’t be interested in the least.
How many different languages can you say goodbye in? There’s English, Filipino, Korean, Spanish, German, French, Japanese – 7.
Agree or disagree: You like Adam Sandler movies. Disagree for the most part, but 50 First Dates is cute.
--
Did the last type of shoes you wore have laces? Yups. I wore sneakers when I went out to get Starbucks last Friday evening.
How much money did you spend yesterday? The charging cable that I ordered arrived yesterday, so I had to shell out ₱140 for that.
What genre is your favorite movie? It’s a romcom/drama. My other favorite is a drama.
Are you texting anybody right now? Nope. I’m all alone today, which is the way I want to be for this weekend.
Who was the last person you were in a car with? My parents.
Do you like the picture on your license/I.D. card? I really do, hahaha. I don’t know why the people at the LTO gave me a pass, but I had been allowed to smile with my teeth. That helped make my license photo turn out super well and I no longer feel embarrassed whenever I have to take it out and present it somewhere.
What’s your favorite thing to snack on while watching a movie? Potato Corner fries. Can’t be any other type of fries.
When was the last time somebody hit on you? July or August when this random guy slid into my PMs. I had never had so much fun blocking somebody so fast.
Was the last person you met a male or female? The last new person I met was male.
Which one of your friends do you feel most comfortable around? Angela or Andi.
Do you own a map of the world? I mean, I guess. I have a collection of the World Almanac for Kids books, and it had always included a world map in its Countries chapter every year.
What’s your favorite Thanksgiving food? We don’t celebrate Thanksgiving.
Is the light on in the room you’re in? No, doesn’t have to be as it’s bright out and I can see the sun from my window.
Who did you last spoon with? Gabie.
Are you currently watching TV? No.
Have you ever had surgery or stitches? Never. Hope I’ll never be needing one.
Do you own any clothing that has animal print? I have a tank top with cheetah print that I sometimes wear at home.
Does your family eat dinner together? Yes, every evening. We don’t eat together when my dad is working abroad, but since he has stayed home for all of 2020 because of Covid, we’ve gotten to eat together as a family all year.
Where do you work? Somewhere in Metro Manila; I’m not giving the city away.
Are you in high school? I got out of there nearly five years ago.
Do you have a TV in your room? I used to, but not anymore.
Are any of your electronics charging right now? My phone and laptop both are.
What was the last video game you played? Mario Kart 8.
--
Are you hungry?: I can def go for a snack, or maybe even a full meal. It’s taking everything in me not to order Popeye’s or Army Navy from Grab rn.
What color is the chair you’re sitting on?: I’m sitting up in bed; my sheets are blue with gold/yellow prints.
What did you buy last time you went to the store?: I got bottled coffee when I went to 7-Eleven a week ago.
Do you like salsa that has fruit in it?: ...Don’t all types of salsa have fruit in them though? It would be brand-new knowledge to me if I was told not all salsas have fruit.
Have you ever opened up your computer to clean the fan on the inside?: No. I’d rather have professionals do that.
Can you count in binary?: No, and I never even understood how it works.
Do you think stained glass windows are pretty?: No. Mostly because it reminds me of cathedrals.
Are you a chocoholic?: Nah. I like chocolate, but I can live without it.
Are you scared of snakes?: I mean if they were venomous or obviously wanted to eat me whole, of course. But I’ve also already held a couple of snakes before.
Have you had your wisdom teeth removed?: No.
Do you like hard or soft pretzels better?: Soft all the way. I find the hard ones too salty.
What was the last magazine or catalog you looked through?: I don’t even remember. Maybe Tatler? My grandma has loads of those at her house.
When was the last time you wore a raincoat?: I don’t think I have ever worn a raincoat.
Have you ever been carded when buying something?: Idk what that is but nothing out of the ordinary has ever happened to me whenever I’ve made a purchase, so I’m gonna go ahead and say no.
Do you eat meat?: Yep.
Corn and mashed potatoes, or beans and rice?: Both pairings aren’t really a part of our cuisine, so neither sound appealing to be honest. As someone who thrives on rice, I hate the idea of eating beans with it; so I would go with corn and mashed potatoes even though I’m having a hard time imagining how it would work.
Can you sleep with the light on?: I probably can, but it would take me a lot longer to fall asleep.
What’s your operating system of choice?: Mac/iOS.
Have you ever broken a bone?: Never.
Do you have a favorite highlighter color?: I don’t have a favorite color to use, but I prefer pastel shades in general over neon.
Do you have a flashlight?: My phone has a built-in flashlight, but we also keep a couple of emergency flashlights at home in case of blackouts.
Do you like watermelon?: I like some watermelon-flavored stuff like candies, but I’m not fond of the fruit.
…Honeydew?: Hahahahahaha. BoJack Horseman, anyone? Anyway, I’ve never had honeydew and probably wouldn’t like it considering my established opinion on fruits.
Can you shoot a gun?: I’ve never tried, so I’ll say no. I’ve always been meaning to go to a shooting range though; I feel like it’ll be such a cool experience.
Do you like salad?: Not for the most part. The only kind I enjoy is spicy tuna salad, which only has lettuce in it alongside tuna sashimi and spicy mayonnaise.
When was the last time you smashed your finger?: I don’t know if I ever have? This doesn’t ring a bell to me.
What color is your computer?: Silver/gray.

What color hair do you have?: Black.
Do you use the microwave often?: I wouldn’t say so; just a couple of times a month.
Are you good at spelling?: Sure, I’d claim that. Thank the movie Akeelah and the Bee; that movie made me super passionate about spelling and dictionaries for a time. I can still feel its effects today because I’m still very much particular about spelling more so than any other kind of writing/language mechanic.
Have you ever petted a donkey?: I’ve never even seen one before :o but I’d love to have the chance to pet one, heh. It would make me so happy.
When was the last time you went to the doctor’s for a physical?: 2016.
Do you like a lot of ice in your drinks?: Sure.
Have you ever painted a room? Never have, but would like to give it a try.

[slides in to torment you with Way Too Many questions] 1 through 6 for honey, 8 through 12 for clover, 13 through 17 for bluebell, 18 through 23 for vale, 24 through 27 for baaby, and 28 through 30 for that morosexual mordrem
LONG POST AHEAD I GUESS
Honeysuckle:
1. Did you have a theme in mind when you designed them? What was it? honey was originally made ngl, to have nsfw dealings with another friends oc. that sounds so bad now but i promise the other oc was also a horny bastard. but she grew into her own character!
2. How would someone find them in a crowd? just look for her plants! on her head grows a huge japanese honeysuckle!
3. Do they dance at a party? What about when they’re alone? honey used to be an assassin so she can pretty much do any dancing with someone, but alone she likes to do spins and get dizzy
4. What’s their ideal pizza? “are my husband, and datemates a pizza” honestly she probably wouldnt enjoy pizza v much
5. Post a song that reminds you of them. I HAVE A WHOLE PLAYLIST FOR HER....ITS SO LONG...but this is the song that rly jump started her into turning into her own character: Patchwork Stacatto
6. How would you describe their fashion? honestly sexy! she likes to show off her body, but likes to wear huge ballgown type dresses. she likes the Attention.
Clover:
8. Would they have noticed there’s no “7″ in this list? you motherfucker. no probably not at first, if it was something medical related tho he probably would!
9. What would they do with a large sum of anonymously gifted money? he’d be confused and wouldnt know what to do with it. he doesnt really need money because the priory pretty much pays for his expeditions as long as they get to publish his works, so he’d probably donate it to people he knew
10. Do they have a “type”? This can include preferences in friends. its apparently big sunshine men. absolutely beaming boys. full of love and positivity
11. If they were in a book, what genre would it be? What might their TVTropes page look like? medical drama! i sadly dont rly know much tvtropes to put him in any, besides like, anxiety, tired doctor.
12. Are they a good cook? good enough for himself and his husband! theyre normal dishes, nothing fancy when youre traveling most of the time.
Bluebell:
13. Do they have any comfort objects? her armor and weapons! outside of that, the heirloom forgal gave her before he died
14. How do they see themself? a strong woman who’s had to go through a lot of shit to get where she is. she thinks shes had to got through more than a lot of people should have, but doesnt know how to think about it, in and of itself.
15. How would someone best comfort them? sitting with her and putting your arm around her. she doesnt like talking unless its with very specific people. but silent, and gentle touches are welcomed.
16. What’s their ideal vacation? “going back home to my family, but i dont know who that is anymore”
17. What’s their ideal meal? a vanilla ice coffee with some sautéed veggies and like some spicy dolyak meat.
Vale:
18. How do they respond to pressure and responsibility? hahaha he didnt! it was very much a kind “dont feel” for the longest time; his pressure was put on by his dad, and to be able to have a few kids. (which he has one and he regrets it a ton) it was always impossible missions and responsibility when your dad is bagnar :’) and he would expect vale to do everything to perfection.
19. Do they have a favorite animal, or an ideal pet? not really! thought vale likes minotaurs a lot as like a power symbol
20. What’s their favorite weather? before becoming champion, it was the weather around grothmar. that was his home for a long time. so contemporary, and not much humidity. now its obviously Blizzard Babey
21. When their friends are in danger, how do they respond? with seriousness, and tactically. its to try and get them out of the danger ASAP, but not risking their own life if it was like, a 0% chance either of them would live
22. How do they feel about sailing or swimming in deep water, far from the shore? the swimming would honestly be a pressure off of him, despite deep water having pressure. he wouldnt have to worry about anything, nobody expects anything out of him, it would be blissful.
23. How good are they are first aid? he could do military first aid, but nothing amazing. he wasnt a medic, and even as champion the most he can do is refreeze a team mate so they dont fall apart.
Baaby:
24. How big is their friend group? How close? its pretty much only marigold and bubbles, and theyre family to each other. baaby didnt hate her family until she came out as trans and then it was hell for her, so she left. marigold and bubbles support her and she doesnt have to worry about them trying to sabotage anything she makes for competitions.
25. What’s their relationship with their family? it was okay before she came out, they were pretty much turning the other way when she expressed an interest in music since she was still inventing other things. but being trans was just One thing too much, and she decided to leave rata sum, and found marigold. later on bubbles, and theyve all been best friends, and family to each other ever since.
26. If they find a lost dog, do they try to find its owner? Adopt it? Leave it? she’d try to find their owner first! if she couldnt she would just hold onto them and then give them to someone who would want a dog. she and the band dont really have time for one right now despite bubbles cooing at them.
27. Do they have any scars? not really! shes taken pretty good care of herself during experiments, and is proud of her body after she’s able to make hormones for herself (idk if HRT would be a huge thing yet)
im just gonna call them Imposter for now bc thats their namesake:
28. Do they have any tattoos, piercings, or other body modifications? nothing identifiable! maybe later after mordremoth’s defeat, but theyre a infiltrator, and therefore their original form has no discernable features so its easier to illusion it
29. How well do they sleep at night? they dont! :)
30. Would they heat up canned food, or eat it straight from the can? they’d eat the can. like unopen, just, eat the can and the food inside. at once.

Author Interview
I got tagged by @alloveroliver ! Not sure how this will go but let’s do it~
Name: Well you can call me Becky! Trust me, my surname is a tongue twister and you don’t need to know that.
Fandoms: Er dear lord, that’s a lot if I count the ones outside of otome. If we’re talking just that, then it’s mainly Cybird titles (MidCin, IkeSen, IkeRev and IkeVamp). I have anime and video games fandoms too and you can ask me about that here or on my personal blog! Want to do in the future: Write more, I guess. And get a new phone for more otome games!
Where You Post: Tumblr and AO3 for my fics. Twitter is mostly for my ranting about routes or something about the otome and my main place for finding fanart (and retweeting them, BECAUSE WE DON’T STEAL OTHER PEOPLE’S FANARTS).
Most Popular One-Shot: It’s apparently my Day 2 Kinktober. A lot of y’all are thirsty for some Leonardo smut eh?
Most Popular Multi-Chapter Story: The MitsuhidexOC smut trilogy (which I am now calling the Phone Call trilogy lol). It’s hilarious because whenever I think of this story, I remember that it wasn’t suppose to be a trilogy in the first place (it was a one-shot but then someone aggressively persuaded me into writing more of it). I honestly didn’t expect it to blow up like that (and I underestimated the Mitsuhide stans hahaha). Here is part 1, 2 and 3.
Favorite Story You Wrote: Probably my Day 21 of a 31 Day Writing Challenge I did in 2018. I also had an original work, but it’s been put on the back burner for awhile now.
Story You Were Nervous to Post: Five, which was my first IkeSen fic. I was nervous because I wasn’t sure if I got Masamune’s character right and for a personal reason (that I’m just gonna leave at that hahah).
How You Choose Your Titles: Most of the time, I either have a pending title for it or the title comes to me first as I’m writing it. The general theme of the story also has weight on its title.
Completed: 70-ish fics. Which reminds me that I need to fix and update my Masterlist lol.
Incomplete: *tucks away my wips and google docs of future fic ideas* What incomplete works? Who is she? (lol but seriously maybe..2 or 3. I don’t usually write something and then start another one without completing the previous one, which is probably why I have few incomplete WIPs--because if I didn’t start on it, it’s technically not incomplete lol.)
Do You Outline?: When I first started writing, not so much in the way that I would write them in bullets or a flow chart. I would imagine the scene in my head then write it out, which works for me most of the time. I suppose you could argue that it’s a form of outlining too.. But I mostly type or write the general flow of my fic when my thoughts start to wander and branch out of my original idea to keep me in check.
Coming Soon/Not Yet Started: An IkeRev Ray fic that... I’ll be honest it’s a little diamond in the rough, and the theme isn’t really a pleasant thing to talk about. But this is a fic that I feel compelled to write for personal reasons. I don’t want to say much now because I’m not even sure how to start it as of right now. But I do want to write it. There’s also a soulmate AU I want to do for IkeVamp (and for some reason I wanted to do it with Arthur but I haven’t done his route yet), an IkeRev mafia AU (trying to steer away from the ‘crystals are drugs’ and think up of another idea), an IkeSen detective with that femme fatale thing (look idk what the genre is called but think Bioshock Infinite: Burial at Sea), an Edgar Bright art student AU, and just... more stuff lol. But more smut!
Do You Accept Prompts?: I do, but I rarely get them. Maybe because I don’t get to them on time and my followers don’t bother to ask me for stuff lol :( . I don’t really mind that I don’t get them, since I often write my own ideas. But I mean, feel free to drop one if you want to!
Upcoming Story You Are Most Excited to Write: Uh, I guess to finish my Kinktober..?? yes shut up i know its 2020
(Apparently the next questions were added by Ash, so I’ll go ahead and answer them too~)
What do you use to edit?: Currently, I’m not using any third party writing editor. That’s just my personal preference though.
Writing setup: My main set up is in my room, sitting in front of my desk with my laptop and bluetooth keyboard (some of the letters on the laptop aren’t working, so I use an external one. I always have a water bottle with me (because I could sit for hours) and Spotify playing on my phone on speaker. I use Google Docs for all of my fics. Sometimes I’ll go mobile and hook my bluetooth keyboard to my phone and type from there, especially if I can’t stay in my room.
Do you use a beta reader? Nope. For some reason, it’s not a habit of mine to ask someone to beta read my work, though I have done it a few times before. I write, walk away from it, come back to proofread, post, then try to stop obsessing over if it will get notes or not.
Where do you get your writing inspo?: A lot of places--books, songs, anime, tv shows, the internet, other people, prompt lists.. As to the motivation to write, well, that’s something that I’m also struggling with right now hahaha.
Can we get a quote from an upcoming WIP?:
It wasn’t much of a surprise. This amount of workload always comes with the highest ranking officer in the army, and you’ve always understood that. There are some things that can’t be delegated or that specifically need his approval. Yet it didn’t stop you from feeling a little left out and wanting some of his attention.
Feeling restless, you push off the table and head towards the door. If he was still working, there was only one other person you could think of to keep you company. Skipping down the hallway, you stop in front of one of the doors before knocking on it enthusiastically. “Hm? Little lady?”
Sirius’ room was pristine as always. You step in and plop down on his bed, not caring if your skirts ride up your thighs. “Ray’s still working.”
He smiles and sits down next to you. “And I suppose you came to me to keep you entertained?”
This time, you pout at him. “So what if I did?”
Idk who to tag so if any of my followers (who haven’t done this) see this, go do it!

What's your most recommended book? Other than the cruel prince or sjm books... You know what, how about a list? In order from best to worst. 1- best, 10- worst
all righty, I’m not gonna lie here, I have actually… never read any SJM books. Haha, never. I don’t plan on doing it eventhough they sound really fun, but right now I’m trying to gravitate towards a little more… I dunno, quality literature, if you will? This sounds so hypocritical and snob ehhh especially from my Cruel Prince fanblog but asdhjkjss don’t judGE
ok for the list I went on goodreads and looked at my read book list and picked out the best ones, but I honestly can’t really rank them, they are all great so the numbers don’t really matter, but they are quite different in genre, most of them are not even YA, so bear that in mind
1. Game of Thrones series by George R. R. Martin - hahaha GoT is amazing its kinda brutal and its a heavy read, but it’s really worth it. I love the way GRRM builds plot and characters, it’s just so unique and very different from everything I’ve read before. The characters are just so real, and they all have their own background stories and motivations, and you literally have no fucking idea what’s going to happen, it’s so unpredictable I can’t handle it. Warning, it’s likely that your fave character is gonna die, prepare yourself. I haven’t seen the tv show but honestly the book is really really great. It’s one of the best series I have ever read. BUT if you can’t stand visual violence, rape, insides getting, um outside, well I wouldn’t recommend it then. Because there’s a whooole lot of that.
2. HaRRy Pottah by J. K. Rowling - do I even have to explain. HP isn’t just a book, it’s a fucking life changing magical journey that every child should go through, so if you haven’t yet, shut up and go read it. For real. Go, turn off your computer and start reading.
3. Nutshell by Ian McEwan - now this is a really interesting short novel. The thing that makes it fascinating is that it’s narrated by a baby. Who’s still in the womb. And it’s actually a Hamlet retelling, where the pregnant mother is having an affair with the father’s brother, and you know, the baby knows about it. And when mommy and the brother lover conspire to kill the father the baby can do basically nothing about it so it’s about the child’s inner dialogue and some deep philosophical thoughts while his mother and uncle commit the murder and how the baby tries to sabotage them. It’s not YA for sure, so if you want steamy romances or a sexy protagonist, this is not your book, but I really loved it and it’s just such an intellectual book with some nice Shakespeare and modern political references and honestly just reading the dumbass shit that Claude (the uncle, parallel to Claudius) says was so goddamn funny. There is some sex and swearing in it. And like, after reading it I felt like such a highly educated person, eventhough I’ve never read original Hamlet haha.
4. Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins - dystopian post-apocalyptic novel, with some teenagers slaughtering each other, a cool protagonist with badass hunting skills, love triangle, rebellion, etc. Probably most of you have heard of it (if not already read it), it’s quite good, especially the first one, I personally wasn’t a big fan of 2nd&3rd, but it’s prob because I don’t like rebellions/civil wars for some reason? it’s good though!!
5. Angelfall trilogy by Susan Ee - ohohohh anGELS!! I used to be fucking obsessed with angels and demons (#FuckMeLucifer) and I’ve read every angel-themed YA book I could find, and this one was probably the most well-written. It’s set in a post-apocalyptic America (haven’t heard of that before) where angels are terrorizing humans and basically treat them like shit and this girl Penryn, her lil sister gets kidnapped by the angels, but in the fight this one handsome angel gets injured, they cut off his wings and she kidnaps him to her place and I think forces him to help her get her sister back (?) Turns out its Rafael the powerful archangel and of course he is hot as hell, so yeah its been a while since I’ve read it but I remember liking it, so if you’re into angels and some post-apocalyptic chaotic setting on top, you’ll probably like it
6. Mistress of Rome by Kate Quinn - so this one’s mainly about a Jewish slave in the Ancient Roman Empire and a lot of stuff happens to her and she ends up being the mistress of the crazy emperor Domitianus who tortures her and it’s basically following the life of all these different people with different social statuses in Rome, (slaves, gladiators, senators, wealthy wives, emperors, etc.) and it’s really interesting how the relationships are forming between them and the best part is that its historically aCCuRate! ! ! So if you’re into Ancient Romans, this is a good one. Trigger warning for sex, rape, emotional and physical violence. ;)
7. And then there were none by Agatha Christie - this is some nerve wrecking emotional shit, about a group of complete strangers invited into this island manor where they are slowly getting murdered one by one by this psychopath whose identity is… unknown. The murderer is one of them, and is playing this scary, childish, psychological game with the others, but i literally had no fucking idea who the (s)he is until the last few pages, and i couldn’t sleep for a few nights after reading it.
8. Jane and the Man of the Cloth by Stephanie Barron - so this is about Jane Austen, eventhough it’s not written by her, but it’s based on her actual diary and true historical events, so it’s pretty much an accurate description of that period of her life. I guess I would call it a historical murder-mystery because she solves a case that happened in the town she spent her holiday in, but the focus is not really on the ‘thrilling mystery’ part, but rather on the historical background (British-French conflict), social links between people, and yeah just gives you a nice little glimpse into her world. The book is part of a series but this one’s probably my fave bc Jane has this thing going on between her and this handsome mysterious man and a fucking loooved it!!
9. Jane and the Unpleasantness at Scargrave Manor by Stephanie Barron - this is part of the same series, i think it’s the first one, but you can read them in any order, and it deals with a similar murder case as the other one and hahaha it has another mysterious, kinda rude gentleman who has a little thing with Jane and in the end it doesn’t work out (Jane never married btw) but i’m a slut for those little moments and historical books are amazing so if u like history, or Jane, or that 1700-1800 era then go ReAd iT!
10. ummm i can’t think of anything else that i really enjoyed right now, so that’s it for the list. if any of you have any recommendations (especially if it’s something historical) pls let me know!!

hi shine! i wanted to know your thoughts about the book of us: gravity album? any personal favorites? least favorites?
sorry this is so late! i wanted to take my time to answer it because i do have a lot of thoughtsTM hahaha more (like a LOT more) under the cut :)
so on first listen of the album, or honestly even just from the album spoiler haha, my ears instantly focused in on cover and how to love! so i’ll probably have the most to say about those songs + time of our life since ive listened to them the most!!for me: love how its in compound meter! always love me a good 12/8 or 6/8 or whatever it is haha its felt in three basically lskj i dont have a lot to say about this song? i think the focus is more on the lyrics? but musically i cant really identify anything that really sticks out to me alkdj like typical poprock i really dont know what to say maybe theres more interesting things going on underneath that im terrible at picking out (like in the chord progressions) fav part is def the prechorus^^time of our life: its so weird talking about this now bc ive gotten so used to the song that lkj some of what im saying (like the changes i would have done) feels /wrong/ but ahaha still here are some of my thoughts^^ FIRST OF ALL WONPILS PIANO SOLO >>>>> i just really love listening to it and i think an underrated part of his solo is the i think synth drums underneath them and how it creates this driving motion for the song and so like even tho the song starts kind of bare we can go straight into that hype instrumental intro instead of like having only his solo be the intro and going straight into the more mellower verse or smth along those lines? hahaha i think on first listen the first thing that stood out to me was how the chorus sounded like an extension of the verse? like the chorus wasnt very obvious and im not sure why in terms of like chord progression music theory, but in terms of instrumentation i think one of the reasons is because that driving quarter note drum thing we get in the chorus only resolves in the second half of the chorus instead of sometime in the first half of it. so it almost gives off this sense that we might be building up to something greater but we arent? really like all of this energy from the drums piling up for seemingly no reason and also the effect that it has on really accentuating the opening lines of the chorus dissipates imo the longer that drum rhythm plays out. like the whole “a page of beautiful youth” part that opens the chorus is mostly all quarter notes and i love how we have the quarter notes within the actual drum line to back that up but then two things after that happen: 1) we get i guess a reiteration of the opening melody in the chorus with the “let’s write it together” which i feel like having the drumming driving with those same quarter notes underneath it makes the intro of the chorus feel a bit less special and memorable? and 2) and after that line plays out, the melody becomes a bit more loose in in terms of its rhythm (the ‘i want to fill it with our memories’ part) the melody doesnt have those same impactful quarter notes anymore, but u still have the drum playing it so its kind of? like a why? at that point like i personally feel it takes away from the support it gives to the earlier melody that was obviously more driving quarter notes. i kind of wish that driving forward motion in the drumline was resolved within the third measure of the chorus with like a singular drum hit into the release (like going from here to something like here but with a drum hit in between as a transition or smth? hard to explain lks i actually had a made a video a while back kind of experimenting with the sound but idk how to upload it to here) but!! i am a fan of having those driving quarter notes coming out of the bridge i love the usage of it there and would not change a thing! i think it fits because we are actually building up to that release in the instrumental, it feels a lot different than the chorus which just feels like it drags on for a bit too long. but i would also would have liked if we had a bit of an instrumental pause or something like right after sungjin says ‘dont worry about a thing’ like after that ‘ma’ a brief pause or like even the omission of the downbeat that the drum is giving like /something/ missing before we get back into him singing ‘leave everything to me’ idk i feel like that change would have been interesting and way to build up tension again in a way?? anyways to circle back to my original point about the chorus feeling like an extension of the verse..i lowkey feel like maybe day6 felt that a bit too? laksdj and thats why we got that drum intermission bw the end of the prechorus and the start of the chorus but thats just a theory idk how true it is like honestly to me it felt slightly out of place and kind of a random transition? i dunno i could be wronghere are some misc. things not in too much detail since i think talking about one song has already gotten too long alksdj but sungjins part in the prechorus i think could have been sung a bit /gentler/ than his usual throaty approach for day6 songs idk. love the vocal layering in the chorus! maybe my headphones are terrible and maybe im biased (a bit of both or neither who knows) but laksdj i kinda wish youngks bass part was a tad bit louder he has some cool parts that often get overshadowed by the electric guitars + vocals i think (like here! the sound is so tiny in the studio i wish they had brought it out a bit more because when it is brought out it like here sounds gorgeous…that sound actually might be a bit overpowering actually haha but some happy balance bw those two). also totally random but i love the way jae says ‘한 페이지’ its just satisfying to listen to like he slurs the words a bit? whereas sungjin in his part is more staccato and lkj i think i prefer the legato connection of the words to the staccato one. also thank god they brought back the piano solo for the bridge laksjhow to love: SHE!! was a favorite/look out for since the album spoiler and she did not disappoint. wonpil said it was motown influenced? love that for them;; the chord progressions are funky and fun to listen out for! love how we get a bit of instrumental differences between the first and second reiteration of the first part of the verse? (the introduction of this electric guitar kind of in ur left ear if ur wearing head phones thats not there initially but then also this part in the electric guitar in the right ear which isnt there also again in the first reiteration just to keep it different and not redundant! i love the prechorus, introduction of strings for chorus stellar (but im strings biased) but its just so fun to follow how its similar and different to the vocal melody also whats a day6 song without some sort of chanting! love how the rhythm in the melody follows the drum part into the chorus all three times that it happens! the bridge is funky love it haha and also just love how at the end they switch up the ‘cause im ready’ and have sungjin jae and wonpil each sing one of those and then have youngk end with the ‘ooooh’ i thought that was adorable. ok keeping it short thats all i’ll saywanna go back: not to be a svt stan but holiday is that you? hahah jkjk its just a similar genre its like holiday meets maroon 5 haha i actually enjoy a lot of the song the chord progressions in the verses are interesting but also the prechorus is really pretty sounding but lakjd i honestly wish the tempo was just a little bit faster in the chorus i feel like its dragging a bit its hard for me personally to stay engaged with the song because of the murky feeling i personally get from the chorus. also the transition into the second verse is kinda ?? idk ahahaha but yeah main thing is just i wish the tempo was even just the tiniest bit faster for the chorus specifically i feel like verses are fine but just the chorus could have afforded to been a bit faster…but maybe this is just a personal experience cover: this is my personal favorite from the album! musically i just love the sound of the chord progressions in the verses? also the chorus! she! the vocal melody how it goes down but then u hear that piano in the background go up *chefs kiss* art! and i love the changes in the instrumental they introduced for the second verse! they added the bass i believe as well as another electric guitar part that isnt that muted plucking thing that we got in the first verse! AND THEN THE BRIDGE!!!!!!! THAT!!! IS!! A!! BRIDGE!!!! its so stunning and incredibly climatic and beautifully executed!!! i believe thats the first time the drums proper actually come in can you believe it (there are percussion sounds before but i think its a tambourine + a shaker/maraca? essentially not the drumset);; the tension that just the introduction of drums really brings to the piece ahhh and also the chord progressions really take u for a ride the first time u hear it and u dont know what to expect;; and then we get out of the chorus with ‘because im weak and not cool’ as a deviance from the earlier lyrics of ‘my weak and not cool side’ then DRUMTRIPLET!!!!! LAST CHORUS!! MORE DRUM TRIPLETS!! so wonderful the pOWER really the whole song is a huge crescendo ?? kind of influenced by the fact that they keep layering instruments which i absolutely LOVE like its beautiful haha but then the last chorus is just the quickest decrescendo ever as a way to fade out from the song but now with all the instruments (love how the last line really like enforces its importance and lyrical difference from the earlier ‘in the end i was seen’ by having that drum just punch it into u with every hit of the bass drum haha) also like how its not a true circular ending (but it kinda is) like there are instrumental and lyrical differences from the start and the end one thing i kind of wished they experimented with was like maybe mixing up some members voices in the chorus? like i tried a youngpil one myself haha where wonpil sings this part, then youngk, wonpil, youngk (again i hve a video for this but idunno how to upload to this ask) but its not like the song to me suffered from having singular member choruses i just thought it might be kinda cool haha anywhos im biased i love this song and laksj didnt even go into the lyrics rip anyways moving onbest part: i think its really cute that they composed this to be specifically be enjoyed in concert! i really like the best paaaaaaaaa aaaart like that swoop they do and the layering of the vocals i also think its super cool how some of the instrumental drop out towards the end of the chorus but alskj another ‘wanna go back’ transition into the second verse are they experimenting with this transition or smth?? but it just feels like inserted bc they couldnt think of a better way to transition into second verse which?? just kind of awkward akjl idk but maybe they have a reason for it i dont know! but yeah haha again musically im not really sure what to say kinda like for me it just feels like standard pop rock which isnt a bad thing just a /thing/ ahaha

An Ethilite Masterpost
pinterest page | tag | other links
*plays the world's tiniest violin* hello my name is Tree and I'm going to be your guide as we travel through Ethilite, because I can't be serious about worldbuilding in the slightest. You may refer to me as a tree emoji - any tree emoji - and Ethilite as a dumpster fire. I'm totally fine with that. For added sensory overload feel free to listen to the [Ethilite playlist], even though it's probably going to change as I post these.
Origin
*munches on an oatmeal and choco chip cookie* alright so, before I actually introduce you to what Ethilite is, lemmie give you some backstory. This shithead world has been in the works since like 2010, at least. Almost ten years. That's disgusting. I was like fifteen or something when this started. My math is wrong. I was in grade 9. That's all I remember. High school was a blur.
But one of my friends, and current roommate, was working on her own world at the time, which is what gave me the inspiration to even attempt doing such a dastardly thing. So thanks to her, Ethilite, and the main (and only, currently) continent Winderful, was born.
I also have to thank @cindercate, though, because she listens to me scream about this all the time, and gives me a plentiful harvest of typos to use for names.
Ethilite
Ethilite itself is an earth-like planet, in terms of water-to-land ratio, and has a similar axis and distance from its sun in order to maintain seasonal cycles close to that of Earth's. Also known as: I'm extremely lazy and unaccustomed to doing anything more original for fear of having to actually look shit up. Sue me. This is isekai land now. Literally. Its a parallel universe to Earth. Hahaha.
On the plus side, Ethilite has two moons [that are currently unnamed], because what's the point of a FANTASY WORLD if there's only ONE moon? Right? Right?! I thought so. We're here to have a good time and enjoy the aesthetics.
I've only really developed one continent so far, that being Winderful. It’s roughly the size of Canada, though the climate ranges from subtropical along the coastlines, to temperate throughout most of the land. Farther north there are small areas of subpolar climates. Specifically, it mirrors the southern border of British Columbia, as well as the Vancouver coast. There might be some Oregon in there, too, it’s hard to say.
The general feeling of Winderful, however, is a clash of plenty of forests, high mountains, large lakes and beaches. It would be a nature lover's paradise, if that nature lover was alright with the sentient trees and sky whales bellowing late at night.
Though considered a "fantasy land", Winderful is a highly developed area. There are bustling cities and towns that look like they belong on Earth, and technology is up to a similar standard, if not slightly advanced. *strums guitar* we got solarpunk inspo for days, laddies. Unlike Earth, Winderful took a more conservatory road as they developed, and instead of ripping up the land digging for oil and coal, they spent their time harnessing wind, solar, and hydro power. That isn't to say they didn't rip up the land - they totally did, in spots. They just also progressed faster because in this world big corporations don't rule the world.
Basically, Ethilite would be classified as “urban fantasy” because I don’t care about fantasy genres that much and I’ve had too much inspiration already taken from media like The Legend of Zelda, Final Fantasy and Xenoblade Chronicles 2. And other JRPGS. This is JRPG land, now, buckle up.
From here on is where I’ll post the links to different sections, so stay tuned, I guess. ovo

Get to Know Me Tag Game
How. How? Many people tagged me in this? @amaranthine-inscriptions, @zburatorii, @rainy-rose, @elisabethrosewrites, @abalonetea, @shaping-infinity, @ink-flavored, @imaghostwriter, @snickertoodles. A lot! Wow! (Thank you folks for the tag~)
What genre(s) you write?
Fantasy (a range of types) and Science Fiction! I especially enjoy combining those two genres in ways that make it difficult to determine which genre the book actually is, but at the current moment I’m writing a historical fantasy wip and in the planning stages of a sci-fi!
What’s on your reading wish list?
Uhhhhh, soo manyyy. In Other Lands is the current one I want to read, The Fever King looks to be another good one, The Fifth Season. Really it’s just a mishmash of different things people have recommended to me that I want to read when I get the time!
AND THEN OF COURSE THERE ARE ALL OF THE BRILLIANT WIPS AND BOOKS ON WRITEBLR
Your favorite character from your current WIP?
Favourites. My favourites tend to shift depending on who I’m developing/writing at that moment! But... I’d have to say I’ve always loved Captain Xuân, so much. She appears at the very end of book one for ~spoiler reasons~, but she mainly pops up book two. I think my reasoning for her being my favourite pertains to her backstory and her very, uh... interesting quirks.
I mean it could also be that the previous oc she’s based off of was the main character of a couple comics I drew. Pre-character dev.
Some writing tropes you like?
AH TROPES. I am. So uneducated when it comes to tropes. I really like... found family. When the antagonist/villain becomes the weird aunt/uncle/pibling figure. So... family ones are fun? Also I really like the humorous ones like the trope: character spends the entire evening removing a whole pile of weapons from their different locations on their person. Very fun.
The story behind your WIP’s name?
One Siren’s Soul! Originally it was just named because sirens play a major part in it, and there’s one particular really important siren in it. But then in its early stages the Siren’s Soul came to be an object, and a very important one at that. So it has a double meaning!
Are you a pantser or plotter?
Plotter to the extent of having a full, basic outline, but panster for the details!
Do you post your work somewhere?
Ahhh no. Kind of here? Snippets. I’m not sure yet if I’m looking to publish or not, but maybe when I get in the later drafts, I’d consider posting it somewhere?
Do you also read/write fanfic? If yes, for the same genres as what you write?
HA. HAHAHA. FUNNY STORY ABOUT THAT. I write very uh. Unconventional fanfiction? When I was younger I wrote Warriors fanfiction. That’s normal enough.
But then, you know, I wrote a whole new universe that technically was a fanfiction for Steven Universe. And uh. Guess where all the main characters of One Siren’s Soul come from? (Actually now I’m really tempted to post up something about all the gems they were based on. Yep. It’s happening. Expect that shortly.)
So I guess the same genres? Fantasy, fiction, kinda sci-fi?
Your favorite dessert. Because why not.
Desserts! I really, really love apple pie or apple crumble, especially when it’s still warm and you eat it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream~ Wild blueberry pie is also fantastical the same way! Nanaimo bars are also my absolute favourite.
I’m not going to tag anyone because I’ve seen most of my friends already do this one, but feel free to do it if you see this and say I tagged you!

The Scum Villain’s Self-Saving System
(back to masterpost)
Let’s start this journey of hilarity and tears!
Chapter 1
Let me start by saying as much as I love this novel now, it was difficult to get into having no experience reading Chinese webnovels aside from Mo Dao Zu Shi. Reincarnation plot line? Familiar enough. Transmigration? The popular take on it in webnovels is very different from the ones I’ve read in English-origin fanfic.
The summary of this novel in particular is a load of nothing unless you digest the translators’ notes or know the original language in the first place, in which case it’s actually quite hilarious in a hysterical sort of way (like a lot of the narrative).
After leaving, coming back, and finally persevering past the first chapter, I finally got hooked on this story and couldn’t stop laughing, thus here I am.
I will say this now and probably a few times later for good measure: Shen Qingqiu is my spirit animal, I channel him so hard sometimes it’s ridiculous. I didn’t expect to like him as a narrator, but his thoughts are genuinely hilarious to read and the casual tone really works well because of it. He’s also very earnest inside his own head, which is interesting and something to save for a later discussion.
So, starting with the summary, I FINALLY understand what this “grass mud horses” thing is holy crap did that take a long time for me to get. But once you know it, it’s a surprisingly effective phrase for his feelings upon transmigrating lol.
I love emojis like these: _(:□)∠)_
I can never be creative and make them myself but they’re cute.
Anyways, onto the actual chapter.
You have to admit, this background is full of so much angst and terrible unfairness that you might end up side eyeing the author who just could not give this MC a break. It’s so much misfortune that it feels like the entire universe has conspired against him lol.
As the story says, “It was yet another heart-aching history full of blood and tears.”
I found it interesting that this main character who is really the love interest in this actual novel, is actually someone who “fought over every trifle, seeking revenge for the smallest grievance, and had thousands of knives set to kill in his heart while his mouth smiled and agreed.”
This kind of protagonist in an actual story is kind of annoying for me to read about, but as the deuteragonist...? Okay, it can be interesting to see how our MC Shen Yuan mucks this up with his presence.
I was skeptical about transmigration stories at first, but I grew fond of them after reading a few. Just don’t take the handwavy stuff in the beginning seriously and you’re good to go.
Original Shen Qingqiu was indeed a scumbag, did you have nothing better to do than torment one of your disciples? That’s very unbecoming of an adult, let alone one that’s cultivated to his level...
However, did you expect the novel to be so great when the author’s pen name is....a dirty euphemism. xD
I love the self-awareness of this novel, it’s probably one of its highlights. All of these points are things we’ve probably wondered before while reading one story or another, but suspension of disbelief keeps our mouths shut.
Inconsistent setting?
Not being clear on their own magic system, even confusing terms they themselves defined?
Everyone falling to their knees and being stupid in front of the protag, but smart according to the narrative? aka the characters who exist to make the protag look good.
Rare items/magic/something appearing when convenient?
Script-like villains who could be exchanged with any other villain from other series?
I love Shen Yuan’s exasperation with all of it.
“Shen Yuan felt that he was angry enough to come back from the dead.”
ohohoho
“Shen Yuan had made a firm resolution early on. If one day, he were to wake up[...]he absolutely wouldn’t happily giggle...”
“He was solely engrossed in acting as though he’d just woken up...”
This genre-savvy, trying very hard to collect his thoughts sort of MC is surprisingly fun to read, you know? Not too over-the-top all-knowing expert nor freaking out and completely giving himself away novice. xD
“...having experienced the baptism of reading every kind of do-over or transmigration YY novel all year round.”
hahaha
At first, I didn’t notice anything off about the names when they introduced Yue Qingyuan. Then we got Liu Qingge and it slowly went downhill from there. I thought it was a coincidence? But obviously there is a trend (Mu Qingfang, Qi Qingqi...). Is this ‘qing’ acting as a sort of generational name since they’re all of the same generation in the sect?
I don’t usually have an issue remembering everyone’s names (except for the ones in Legendary Master’s Wife, which is so freaking long), but the Peak Lords of Cang Qiong Sect slowly gave me stitches as more were revealed haha.
“Where did he still have the qualifications to lament other people’s tragic deaths? The one who died the most tragically was him all right!”
His hysterical, earnest narration is the best.
But also, consider how quickly he latched onto this role lol even claiming this as his future death (which is yikes, ‘human stick’ is a nice, concise term I guess...simple and sweet, huh?). However, we won’t see him truly embrace this role until later...
【Warning. Your plan just now was very dangerous. It is a violation of behavior, please do not attempt. Otherwise, the system will automatically give punishment. 】
I didn’t really think of the system much the first time around since I read so fast through it, but this thing really is lowkey hilarious and helpful. Hey, it could have just let him mess up and explain only after points were docked.
【...You need to complete the beginning stage mission for it to be unfrozen...】
god, this gives me flashbacks to all those damn video games where the tutorial lasts for 30 min. of gameplay or more (Pokemon Sun & Moon, I’m looking at you >>) and you can’t do anything outside of bounds or the stupid game stops you.
Ah, our second main character is about to be introduced!
