si ya de normal no paraba quieta, ahora que tenían tenían las llaves y los documentos legales de la propiedad de la casa, estaba eléctrica todo el día. ya habían hecho parte de la mudanza en cuanto a qué muebles dejaban en el otro piso, que había decidido mantenerlo para las visitas y porque su historia de amor nació allí , y cuales se llevaban. las camas ya tenían sus somieres y sus colchones y ella había escondido todo el material de espionaje en el hórreo. aquella mañana, mientras maëlys empezaba a pintar el que sería el dormitorio principal, volvió a santiago a recoger cajas con cosas y así llevarlas a su nuevo hogar. por el camino se encontró a su tutora y le contó todo entusiasmada no, lo siguiente y le prometió que pronto tomarían un café y le pondría al día de la tesina y de su vida. cuando tuvo todo cargado en el coche, condujo y ya solo con ver la finca en el horizonte su sonrisa se amplió. cuando llegó al portón, vio que había un matrimonio en la puerta, así que metió el coche dentro y salió a recibirlos con el mono y la visera llenos de pintura. “ola, bos días, ¿sodes da parroquía?” preguntó curiosa, pues quizá eran vecinos de dentro de los límites territoriales parrioquiales y les había llamado la atención que la casa se hubiese vendido. // @qvimcra​

Sophie

She's a sumiciu (asturian folklore creature similar to borrowers). She used to live with her mother in an hórreo (a type of raised granary), surviving on the food humans would store in there. Sophie's mom left one day on a borrowing trip to the human house nearby, but unfortunately never made it back.

Sophie would have to learn to survive on her own, until shortly after she was spotted by a human during a borrowing trip to her house. Surprisingly the human not only didn't trap her, but seemed willing to accept her presence. Sophie of course fled, terrified.

A few days later there was a really bad storm and the hórreo roof collapsed, leaving the poor Sophie exposed to the rain and cold. The human would find her the following morning while inspecting the damage and rescue her. After a typical bumpy introduction, she reluctantly agreed to stay with the human until the hórreo got repaired, and that's how she met Curuxa.

She's a sweet and polite child, and loves learning everything she can.

She's a young human woman who was relocated to a village after losing her home. She got to meet smallfolk in the past, at his grandparents summer house when she was nine. Having waved off those memories as just being her childhood imaginations, she ended up developing a special interest on fairies and other kinds of tiny people.

What was her surprise when she rediscovered the smallfolk by spotting Sophie in her new home, and from that moment of she felt protective and responsible for the young sumiciu's wellbeing. Her nickname Curuxa comes from that first encounter, since sumicios usually call "curuxes" (owls) to those humans that stay awake at night and make their borrowing trips harder, which was the human's case because of her bad sleeping schedule.

Curuxa is a kind and soft spoken person with a tendency to have anxiety and panic attacks because of her recent trauma after losing her home.

🛑 Fraccionar para ganar: El truco de la empresa dirigida por Micaela Feijóo para adjudicarse millones a dedo en la Xunta💶

▪️Ah, Galicia, la tierra de los pazos, los hórreos y, por lo que parece, una forma muy creativa de adjudicar contratos públicos. Resulta que la Xunta, desde los tiempos de Feijóo hasta ahora con Rueda, tiene una habilidad singular para repartir millones de euros a la empresa Eulen, esa que, por pura coincidencia, dirige Micaela Núñez Feijóo, hermana de Alberto, en la zona norte de España. Y lo mejor de todo: lo hacen sin pasar por concursos públicos, como quien organiza una fiesta privada y no invita a nadie más.

El truco es sencillo, pero efectivo: se fraccionan los contratos en partes tan pequeñas que no tienen que someterse a concurso. Según la Ley de Contratos del Sector Público, cualquier contrato inferior a 15.000 euros puede adjudicarse de manera directa, sin competencia. Y vaya si se han aprovechado de esta normativa. Entre 2018 y 2023, la Xunta ha encargado más de 1.300 facturas a Eulen, sumando casi cinco millones de euros. ¿Cómo? Fragmentando contratos para que todos queden por debajo de ese umbral de 15.000 euros. Así evitan los concursos y, por ende, cualquier posibilidad de que otra empresa compita. Todo queda en familia, literalmente.

Pongamos un ejemplo: en la Consellería de Sanidade, hay al menos 14 contratos idénticos, todos por 10.834,55 euros, con el mismo concepto: “seguridad”. Mes a mes, Eulen factura el mismo servicio, al mismo precio, sin variar un céntimo. ¿No sería más lógico agrupar esos servicios en un solo contrato y sacarlo a concurso público, permitiendo que otras empresas del sector ofrezcan mejores condiciones o precios? Pues sí, pero entonces la competencia entraría en juego, y eso parece ser lo último que quieren desde la Xunta.

Pero la cosa no termina con Micaela Núñez Feijóo. También está su prima, Eloína Núñez Masid, que ha jugado un papel crucial en esta historia. Como exgerente de varios hospitales públicos, Eloína adjudicó contratos por valor de casi 4 millones de euros a Eulen, también sin pasar por concursos públicos. ¿La excusa? Servicios de seguridad en hospitales y centros de salud. De nuevo, la familia primero. Qué casualidad que siempre acaben ganando los mismos.

Y esto no es un caso aislado. Desde que Feijóo dejó la Xunta en manos de Alfonso Rueda, la dinámica no ha cambiado. En solo dos años, el gobierno de Rueda ha adjudicado otros 17 millones de euros a Eulen, a través de más de 175 contratos. Todo perfectamente fragmentado para evitar cualquier tipo de licitación abierta.

La cuestión aquí no es solo la legalidad del proceso, porque técnicamente todo está dentro de los márgenes que permite la ley. El problema es ético. Es el uso sistemático de lagunas legales para beneficiar a una empresa que, por pura coincidencia, está dirigida por la hermana de quien gobernó Galicia durante más de una década. Se trata de un sistema que, aunque legal, está diseñado para evitar la transparencia real y la competencia, dos principios básicos de una gestión pública sana.

Así, mientras la Xunta sigue gestionando millones de euros a través de contratos opacos y sin competencia, la familia Feijóo se asegura de que el dinero público siga fluyendo hacia Eulen. Todo ello mientras el resto de empresas del sector observan desde la barrera, sin posibilidad de participar en el reparto. Video publicado por Nenedenadie @nenedenadie

(Galicien) Extra Wissen

Uns sind hier in Galicien einige Sachen aufgefallen, wo wir mithilfe von Google recherchieren mussten was sie sind oder bedeuten. Also hier das Galicien Extra Wissen:

Galicien hat eine eigene Sprache. Galicisch ist eine offizielle eigene Sprache die dem Portugiesischen sehr nahe kommt, hier in den Grundschulen gelehrt wird und im Familienkreis weit verbreitet ist.

In Galicien gibt es traditionelle Hórreos. Diese sind auf Stelzen stehende Stein- oder Holzkonstruktionen. Sie stehen meistens im Vorgarten und super viele Häuser haben eins. Wir dachten zuerst vielleicht beten sie darin, weil fast alle ein Kreuz oben am Dach haben. Dafür wäre es wohl zu klein. Sie sind Speicherorte für die Ernte. Alle sehen unterschiedlich aus und sind ein ganz besonderes Merkmal dieser Gegend.

Hier stellen alle so Wasserflaschen in ihre Eingangstür, vors Geragentor oder Ladeneingang. Überall stehen einfach Wasserflaschen, mal Halonen mal nur halbe Liter Flaschen. Laut Internet sind die Flaschen die Katzenversion einer Vogelscheuche. Das verzerrte Spiegelbild soll die Tiere (auch Hunde) davon abhalten, an Hausecken zu pinkeln. Viele halten das wohl für Blödsinn aber stehen tun sie fast überall in dieser Gegend.

In dieser Gegend gibt es sehr viele Eukalyptusbäume. Diese sind hier nicht heimisch sondern wurden im 19. Jahrhundert aus Australien mitgebracht. Komisch vorgekommen ist mir, dass sich die Bäume quasi von selbst schälen. Bei einigen Arten stirbt anscheinend die äußere Rindenschicht ab und löst sich in größeren Stücken vom Stamm. Das passiert, da der Eukalyptus jedes Jahr eine neue Borkenschicht ausbildet.

As this uses the word “random,” I will try to be random, accordingly.

I currently have four instruments in my house: a piano, one plastic recorder, and decorative, dusty flamenco castanets and a replica bagpipe (gaita) on the wall. (Also, a strange thing I'm willing to bet people will find random: there is a miniature model hórreo (type of granary) in our dining room. It only takes up a bureau surface in a corner, but even if it did take up a lot of space, it wouldn't matter much because our dining table is covered in stacks of paperwork, so we can't actually eat there, unless we cleared it off for guests, haha.)

“Speech" incoming.

I had an interesting conversation yesterday that reminded me of something I think about every so often—I absolutely love the Hold Someone to Their Exact Words Exploitive Loophole as a trope and am a bit of a grammar enthusiast. However, I would never go into law. (And I understand having varying dialects and cultural differences. I think some people irl, even those with mostly standard "correct" speech, are just bored by grammatical/structural/rhetorical features, so I don't get to talk about it often.)

Fun fact: if you remove certain modal verbs from your speech and use declarative statements, you may automatically sound more confident in what you’re talking about. I don’t know if you can bluff with this trick/tip, but maybe someone out there will find it useful.

Second fun fact: To anyone, not even just English language learners, the native speakers I've observed lately often don't use the subjunctive (the hypothetical tense) or the right forms of adverbs when they should. It's surprisingly common, using phrasing like "was" instead of "were” in if-then statements. That said, maybe some people don't know or go for authenticity in oral speech over "correctness." And ultimately, there's nothing wrong with that. Breaking the rules for expressive or artistic purposes is fine!

However, I do have an example that bothers me because I haven't found a way around it. It's when people say: [omitted: "Get it done] quick!"

"Quick" used as a second person command works so well because it has a hard, monosyllabic impact, but it's wrong. If I'm not mistaken, "Quickly" would be the correct form. Why can't I be dramatic and correct at the same time, language?
