thinking about earth 42 miles. all the talk about how miles takes after his uncle, jefferson and aaron being these two opposing forces pulling miles towards their different ways of approaching the world, jefferson being the push miles needed to take that leap of faith and ultimately become a hero

meanwhile in earth 42 the spider gets taken to another universe seconds before miles is supposed to get bit, his fate as spider-man is stolen by another version of himself, his dad dies (probably wouldn't have happened if he was spider-man but miles will never know), the morality balancing act of father and uncle in his life is thrown off and he's naturally drawn towards his uncle aaron's side of things because the law and orderly side is just gone, rio is widowed and grieving and struggling financially and emotionally to look after herself and miles so he probably couldn't go to visions academy even though he's beyond smart enough for it, the city is literally on fire because no spider-man doesn't mean no supervillains, miles probably became the prowler to help keep the lights on because he loves his family so much, and he doesn't tell rio what he's up to but she knows anyway

this boy is going to hate his alternate superhero self so much. and i love our miles an inordinate amount but i can't even blame him
