ts4's got a lot of missable mechanics dw. on the ts4 subreddit the other day, someone was like "why does weather still affect my sims when they're inside that's bs i should be able to do smth about that wo cheats" and got like 500 or so upvotes, but the top comment was like "the pack that came with weather also came with a thermometer so u can control indoor temp," and the rest of that thread was ppl reacting to other mechanics that have been in game for years, like nightlights (inc bg ones) being able to prevent nightmares for kids, or the bg fire prevention system
