Absolution
Summary:
noun: formal release from guilt, obligation, or punishment
The Capital Wasteland lauded the Lone Wanderer as a hero, a Messiah, a savior who's willing to give her life for the Good Fight. Beyond the legends, the propaganda, and the mythification that surrounded her legacy, there is only one person who knew her bare soul. She gave him his absolution, and now he will fight for hers.
XIII
December 28, 2277.
“Wait. Enclave? What the hell is an enclave?” Butch asks, brows furrowing.
“In this context, they’re the other group of power-armored assholes running the other radio station with patriotic music, and fancies themselves as the United States of America, though I think they really are what remained of the USA. They’re also the bitches responsible for my dad’s death, so there’s that,” Percy tells him.
“Holy shit,” DeLoria murmurs, throwing back another shot. “Hey hey wait, how do you know that? I didn’t pay much attention to history class but I don’t remember Mr. Brotch mentioning anything about the American government going all psycho with power armor.”
Percy pauses, brow wrinkling. “Dad mentioned something when I was younger, about how some of the history books we study as kids didn’t paint the entire picture, and when we were reunited in the wasteland, at some point when one of his scientists switched to the Enclave radio during dinner, he asked her to turn it off. Said it was run by fascists that came from a failed pre-war government.”
“But how does your old man know about that when the vault was sealed- oh. Oh right. The Overseer lied to us.” Butch finally gets it. “Damn.”
“Yeah, and look at where that got us. I always suspected that things weren’t always what it seemed. Plus, the truth slips out of Old Lady Palmer’s mouth whenever she mentions dad “arriving” in the vault. My doubts were confirmed when I looked through Almodovar’s terminal, before I opened the door. There were scouting reports. Pictures of giant ants.”
The bartender serves Percy another shot and she gulps it down before resuming her story. The number of cigarettes in DeLoria’s box is dwindling, and so did mine.
“Then when I got to Megaton, some of the locals knew about the brainwashing stuff, and all the pieces of the puzzle fell in place. Finding out that dad was parroting the Overseer’s propaganda hurt. The worst part is? I haven’t forgiven him before he died.”
“I um… I’m sorry, Perce.”
My friend shrugs at DeLoria. “It is what it is. I miss him already. He’d know what to do. I wish I didn’t argue with him before those assholes...”
A sniff resounded in the mostly empty bar. Soft cries escaped Percy’s lips, tears streaming down her red face. I wanted to offer an arm, a hand, anything , but DeLoria already wrapped an arm around her shoulder. Right. Great. That’s probably for the better. Sticking my non-existent nose in her business is becoming a dangerous habit.
Last night was probably a mistake.
“Okay, I think you had enough alcohol for the night,” the barkeep announces, and takes the scotch away. “The two of you, make sure she sleeps it off.”
“Hey Butch, you said you were gonna start a new gang, right? May I suggest ‘Our Dads Got Fucking Killed by Fascists’ for the name? We three could be the first members,” Percy slurred in between sobs. How she can find humor in the situation is beyond me.
“Yeah, she’s wasted alright,” Butch mumbles. “Hey, um, I don’t exactly have caps on me yet. Is Perce gonna pay the tab?”
I scoffed, fishing around Percy’s pack to pay off our bill. After tossing a few caps to the old lady, I helped Percy to her feet, and so did DeLoria. It was a struggle. I am a few inches shy of seven feet, DeLoria’s around six, and Percy is just a little taller than five. DeLoria looks at me with a weary smile. The two of us did the best we can to ensure this small girl doesn’t land face-first into the ship’s metal flooring. Us both being inebriated and Dogmeat bumping into us every three seconds did not help. I heard a patron that frequents the bar snicker at the sight of us, a girl about Percy’s age with the shittiest pigtails I’ve ever seen. On a human, anyway.
“Y’know what? Just carry her,” said Butch, rubbing the back of his neck. “This isn’t working. I need to get some shuteye for my first day as a barber tomorrow too. See you two around.”
“Goodnight, Butch,” Percy slurs, half of her ass leaning on a nearby table for support.
I nodded at the greaser and he left the premises, the confidence in his gait replaced with drunk swaying and awkwardness. Gathering our gear, I carried Percy’s pack and weapons on my back, then I swept her off her feet in a bridal carry.
She’s gotten lighter.
“Hey, big guy,” slurs Percy, hiccuping. “You do know that I am -hic- perfectly capable of walking, right?”
“The last time you said that, you almost fell off the boat.” I started heading towards the exit.
My friend sighs, shaking her head in resignation. “I might as well enjoy riding you then.”
I froze in my spot. The girl with the shitty hair snorted her drink and outright laughed at us. I couldn’t bring my eyes to look at Percy but I know that she’s even redder now, and she felt a few degrees warmer in my arms.
She stammers, slightly flailing. “I mean, I might as well enjoy you- the ride! I might as well enjoy the ride! Dammit!”
“Sleep it off, Percy.”
“Hey, lovebirds,” the bartender barked at us. “Get the fuck out of my bar and go hump each other someplace else. I’m closing shop.”
We left in a hurry.
Percy was breathing softly, seemingly asleep when we arrived in the Weatherly Hotel, the only clean place to sleep on the boat, where we were greeted by the owner and a Mr. Handy. Beside her, the boy we rescued and brought from Grayditch stands up and runs to us.
“Hey! You two came to visit! Whoa, what happened to her? Is she hurt?” the boy exclaims.
“She’s fine, just tired. We need a room.”
“Hi, Bryan,” Percy slurs. She wasn’t asleep after all. “Shouldn’t you be asleep already?”
The owner smiles. “She’s right, Bryan. Off to bed.”
“Aw. Aunt Vera, I wanna hang out with Percy and Charon more.”
“You can do that tomorrow when Percy is feeling better,” Vera replies, and she nods to us. She had the room unlocked and I stepped in, placing Percy on the bed, and I dumped our gear on the floor. I locked the door behind us afterwards.
While I made sure nothing was out of place, Percy was sloshing water in her mouth, which she spat in a bucket. Staying clean even when she cannot take a full bath are some of her habits and rituals that I got used to. They’re probably good ones. She’s not resistant to disease like I am.
I turned to check on Percy. She had stripped down to her underwear, glasses haphazardly tossed to the bed.
The alcohol in my system is impairing my judgment. I should be turning around and should not be watching Percy tend to herself, but I just watched her. Life in the wasteland claimed some of her softness, and she had a few scars here and there, but she’s still attractive. Her legs are toned from all the walking we do, and her shoulders slightly are wider than her hips. When she turns around though, her behind is… something else.
Wait.
I’m looking at her bare ass.
I need to turn around. I need to turn around, but my body isn’t letting me. I can feel myself tenting at the crotch of my pants. This isn’t good.
When she turned to me, naked, swaying, and smiling, I thought I was in another dream, but I felt her warm breath and I know I’m awake. Things are happening too fast. My eyes dared to meet hers, then it trails below, to her small erect nipples, wet and shiny from her half-bath, and the dark patch of fuzz between her legs.
Damn it. I wanted to claim her. Act on the fantasies I have about her on nights that my body was too warm for my own liking. Put those nipples in my mouth. Bury my face between her legs. Pin her against the bed and make sure the entire boat hears her cry out my name.
“Big guy. Come to bed with me?”
But I hear the slur in her speech, and it took all of my willpower to shake my head.
“No. Percy. You’re drunk,” I say to her firmly.
“And?”
“I don’t want you to do things you’ll regret later, and I do not want to take advantage of your vulnerability.”
“Wait, who said anything about- I just want to sleep next to you again, Charon.”
“Naked?”
Mouth open and brows furrowed, she looks at herself, and curses. “I am- oh no, I am so sorry, holy shit,” Percy apologizes. “Fuck. Fuck! Stupid ass drunk idiot! I’m never drinking again,” she says to herself.
“Keep your voice down. I’ll go look for something you can wear.”
“Dammit, Charon I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to harass you like this, oh my God-”
“I do not feel harassed, but I appreciate the apology. Now, refrain from making any more noise,” I tell her, and I reach into her pack. A flimsy red nightgown was the last thing I expected.
“Percy, is this fine? This will not protect you from the cold much.”
She looks at me, then at the thing, and snatches it from my hand. “Yes! Um, thank you Charon. I found it when we were looting and-”
“You don’t have to explain anything to me, Percy. Get dressed.”
She nods, turning around and dressing herself, then she clears her throat. “All clear. Your turn.”
I cleaned up and changed into something more suitable for sleeping, Percy’s back in sight, her arms wrapped around herself, shivering. When I finished changing, I got in bed.
We lay on the bed next to each other, but she seems so far away.
“Hey.”
“Yes?”
“Charon. I don’t want you to think that I’m like some of your former employers who, uh, used you for your body.”
“I don’t think of you that way.”
“That’s a relief. You’re important to me.”
I look at her, and she’s facing me now, eyes soft and filled with a feeling I cannot describe. “Thank you. You are important to me too.”
Burying her face in my chest, she wraps an arm around my waist. I pulled the covers over us, and I held her.
“Night. Love you.”
February 7, 2278.
Two days after DeLoria’s first visit, he came over again. He brought with him a few of Percy’s belongings from Megaton, including Dogmeat’s teddy bear. The mistress entrusted a copy of the house key to the greaser, much to my dismay, but the dog has been restless without Mr. Bubbles and having it back gave me some relief.
It smells more like dog slobber now than it did Percy, but Dogmeat is still comforted by it. He misses her. I miss her too.
Dr. Li said she is getting better, but she’s still cautious. The doctor told me to not have too much hope; she had seen patients seemingly recover only for them to crash after a few days. It scares me. I wouldn’t know what to do with my life if Percy dies.
Dammit, I don’t want to think about that. She is going to live. Percy is a tough gal.
At this point, only Dr. Li, the greaser, and I are allowed in Percy’s room. She caught one of the scribes she entrusted attempting to extract blood from my partner without her authorization. I know something’s up, but the doctor isn’t budging. What is she hiding from the Brotherhood about my partner?
One of these days, I might need to confront her.
Smoking isn’t allowed in Percy’s room, so DeLoria and I just chewed bubblegum in silence while I maintained our equipment. I sorted out Percy’s change of clothes, came across that flimsy red sleepwear, and tucked it under her other belongings, what’s left of my skin burning hot. I’m doing my best not to let my mind wander to that night. Butch is fiddling with his Pip-Boy, identical to the one my partner owns, and I sigh in relief in knowing that he didn’t see me touch that thing. He already has several wrong ideas.
While I was hastily putting it away, a slip of paper fell.
It turned out to be a photograph. She found a camera when we stormed Paradise Falls, to save some kids. I remember the look on her face when Little Lamplight’s brat of a mayor told them that slavers took their friends.  We ended up opening the slave pens and trashing the place. Percy and I told them to find Hannibal Hamlin in the Washington Monument. Meeting Hamlin was one of my nicer memories from the past few months.
I’d do anything to see the determined gleam in her eye again.
I look at the photograph. It’s of me and the dog. Why would Percy keep something like this?
In the photo, I am asleep, taking a nap on the couch, and the dog was laying on my chest, looking at my partner behind the camera. I flipped it over, and there was some writing on it. Months of being taught by Percy paid off. She taught an old dog new tricks: I learned how to read.
“1-13-2278. Charon and Dogmeat.” This was two days after we got rid of my contract.  “The two loves of my life, after scotch,” she wrote under that. There’s a hollow heart drawn next to it.
I snort at the caption, knowing Percy’s sense of humor. Calling me Mr. Dreamboat, joking that I am her boyfriend… hell, she managed to freak out a few of the bigots in Tenpenny Tower with it once.
Now that I’ve thought about it… the playful nicknames, the touching, the concern, her putting me above herself, the trust she puts in me, the “love you” she mumbled while piss-wasted when I slept next to her in Rivet City; how did I miss all the signs?
Was I too taken in by the belief that smoothskins cannot harbor these feelings for ghouls? What did that damn kiss in the rotunda mean?
Does she even know the consequences of that kiss? If blondie wakes up and tattles to the Brotherhood about the Lone Wanderer kissing her ghoul bodyguard before running inside the chamber, it will ruin her. They might treat her even worse than before. My fears of people hurting her because of being associated with me gets worse as the days pass. There are so many things I want to ask her, so many things I want to talk about, but she’s still lying there, unconscious, under life support.
This can’t be the way things end.
Does she love me the way I love her?
I just want to know my place in her life.

You Scared of Me Now, Babydoll? (Part 9)
Pairing: Negan x Reader
Summary: You meet Eugene Porter when Negan brings him back to Sanctuary
Word Count: 1,899
Warning(s): Brief sexual content, Language
A/N: Yay for more scenes from the show! Masterlist here. Enjoy!
Tumblr media
You could feel warm kisses fluttering down your breasts. His peppered beard brushed against your skin, leaving it pink and flushed.
“Negan,” you pleaded, arching your back as his lips traveled further. He suckled down your abdomen and past your navel, lingering just above your pelvis. You moaned again. You could feel yourself drenched.
“Say my name one more time, babygirl. One more fuckin’ time and I’ll taste this pretty little pussy.”
He peered up at you, his eyes a deep rich mahogany. They were dark with desire and lust.
“Negan.”
Your voice came out as a moan and you could barely contain your composure.
His lips curled into a carnal smile.
“Y/N?”
“What?” You barely breathed out. You couldn’t wait any longer.
“Y/N…Y/N!”
Your eyes shot open. You were laying in your bed– back in your room, the bed sheets crumpled and wrapped around you. You could feel your clothes sticking to your damp skin.
Well damn. You knew that man was going to have a hold over you.
You sat up to see a panicked Simon standing in your doorway. His face changed quickly as he recognized your flustered state and registered the sexual sounding nature of your response.
“Holy shit, do women seriously have wet dreams?”
You blushed, untangling yourself from the cotton sheets.
“What’s going on, Simon?”
He quickly shook the thoughts from his head and cleared his throat.
“We just came back from a run from Alexandria,”
Your mind quickly flashed back to Rick. In all honesty, you weren’t sure if you were worried that something had happened to Rick or to Negan.
“We brought back some guy back,” he continued. “He’s like a genius or somethin’.”
You sighed, rubbing your hands over your eyes in an attempt to wake up faster.
“And this information has what to do with interrupting my sleep?”
He chuckled, leaning off from your doorframe.
“Negan’s requested you. I was also sent to ask you where Sherry is.”
You could feel your heartbeat quicken in your chest, searching for something to say. You just shook your head.
“No, I haven’t seen her since yesterday at work.”
He thought for a moment before giving you a small nod.
“Alright then. Negan is by the front gates.”
Your friendship was enough words spoken. You knew Simon trusted you, just like you knew you could trust him. That was something hard to come across in the apocalypse.
After Simon had left, you got dressed quickly and headed down and through the courtyard to the front gates.
You approached Negan, who was in the middle of talking to a group of his men. It was the first time you had seen him since your night together, and you were a little anxious to see his reaction around you. You decided to play it nonchalant.
“Hey darlin’, long time no see,” he smiled, leaning back into his stance. Lucille stood proudly on his shoulder.
You smiled back at him.
“You wanted to see me?”
“Sure did, darlin’. There’s something I want you to fuckin’ see.”
Your brows furrowed in confusion, but you nodded and stayed by his side.
Not even a moment later, the door closest to the building you were all standing in front of swung open. A scary looking woman with a neck tattoo pushed a very terrified man out from the doorway.  He had a mullet and was holding a jar of pickles.
You would’ve laughed, but you were sure this man was here on unfortunate circumstances. Especially since he came here from Alexandria. You were surprised you didn’t know this man. Rick must have let him into the group sometime after you had left.
The walkers outside of the gates were growling rather loudly now, their sickening moans making you feel uneasy. You were praying Negan didn’t plan on feeding this man to them.
“There he is– man of the hour! Come on over here, big fella.”
He approached you and Negan quietly, still shaking. He was quiet and hardly made eye contact. Negan looked him over carefully, waiting for a response.
“Don’t be rude, asshole. Say hello.”
“H-hello.”
“You got a name, asshole?”
“Eugene.”
Negan paused, turning back to his men. He glanced to you.
“Now us,” he motioned.
“I’m Negan,” you all replied in unison. You would never understand his strange egotistical obsession with himself and why you all had to respond that way. You understood the message he was trying to send, but you felt it was a little ridiculous.
Eugene looked around wearily, glancing briefly to you.
“Well, Eugene…I know you remember Lucille.” He held the bat close to Eugene. Eugene cowered slightly. You definitely knew the kind of effect that baseball bat had on people.
“You see this right here?” Negan continued, “You might have to get real close. That my friend, is the bullet you made. Now under normal circumstances, I’d be showin’ you that real fucking close over and over again,” he mimicked the bashing sound of his bat by making two puckered noises with his tongue.
“But Eugene, see all I really wanna know is if you are a smarty pants. You know things? Answer the fucking question.”
Eugene trembled, struggling to form words. He held his jar of pickles close to him much like a child would hold a security blanket.
“I-I am indeed a smarty pants. I taught myself to cast the bullets, I f-found a machine shop with the necessary…I- uh read a lot and I know my memory isn’t considered eidetic…” his voice began to trail, too skittish to even form a complete thought. He had a strong, deep southern accent, most likely from Texas.
Negan chuckled, glancing over to you.
“You fuckin’ believe this guy? He really is just some asshole.”
You could only manage a small smirk back to Negan, slightly terrified of what he was going to do to this man. Negan and the rest of his men laughed at Eugene. You felt bad for the guy, so you simply stayed silent.
You could see a light puff in Eugene’s chest.
“N-no I’m not.”
Negan gave Eugene an encouraging look, waiting for him to continue.
“I have PhDs in biochemistry as well as immunology and microbiology and I’ve completed my doctorate which makes me a doctor.”
Negan circled around Eugene, Lucille still propped on his shoulder. You knew Negan well enough to say that he was now thoroughly intrigued.
“Prior to the collapse, I was part of a ten person team at the Human Genome Project working under Doctor T Brooks Ellis to weaponize diseases to fight weaponized diseases…fire with you know, f-fire–”
Eugene’s autobiography was cut short by a walker by the front gates that began snarling. It was pinned up against the chainlink fence by two large pipes. The walker groaned loudly before its decomposing body just gave out. Everything from its ribcage down fell to the dirt in a gooey, black, bloody mess.
“Uh huh,” Negan observed, turning his attention back to Eugene. “All right Doctor Smartypants. You see, I have a lot of free labor here at the fence. Living dead pricks that help keep the riffraff out. Problem is they don’t keep; they fall apart like that poor sack– pile of shit there.”
Eugene still huddled with fear. You were beginning to think Negan would’ve wasted this guy already if he planned on killing him. What did he have up his sleeve?
“So Doctor Smartypants, how do we keep them on their feet?”
Eugene looked around to Negan, the walker, and his surroundings nervously. He was silent for a moment, and you were sure he was going to break down and cry.
“C’mon, Eugene…” you muttered quietly. You hoped Negan hadn’t heard you, but you already had a strange soft spot for this strange, terrified, mullet man.
“You um, smelt on the rigs, correct? I saw that among the legacy equipment on the floor that you possess an operational smelter–”
“And?”
“You already possess the means to resolve your issue. Step one, melt down scrap metal. Step two, pour it over the compromised walkers there in contact with the chain link. The liquid metal will harden both maintain a bodily integrity for the walkers as well as a fixin’ end to the fence. Bonus points for covering their head and protecting them from head trauma from hostiles and calamities.”
Fuck. You would’ve never thought to do that. Eugene was a genius.
Negan just leaned back, thinking over what Eugene had suggested.
“God damn, if that ain’t the coolest fuckin’ thing I’ve ever heard in my life! Not only is that practical, it is just badass! Look at you Doctor Smartypants!”
Negan draped his arm over Eugene’s shoulders. He leaned in close to him.
“Did Rick have you doin’ this valuable stuff for him?”
Eugene remained silent. Negan sighed.
“His loss…our gain.”
You continued to watch Eugene cower in the presence of Negan. Negan really just looked like a big bully in comparison to Eugene. Not that Negan had done anything mean yet, but his menacing presence was enough to make anyone cower in fear. You felt slightly conflicted because the power he showed was just so. hot. But was it right?
“I feel like I gotta give you some kind of signing bonus here,” Negan grinned.
“W-Well I was gifted these pickles.”
You stifled a laugh, while Negan full out chuckled.
“Now, as a token of my gratitude, I’m gonna send you over a few of my wives to your apartment tonight to show you a good time. There is nothing like beautiful women that smell good to make you feel human again.”
Wait. Hold the phone. He better have not been talking about you. This Eugene guy seemed sweet enough, but you weren’t just some whore to be thrown around. You chose to be with Negan. Not anyone else.
“Um, excuse me?” you piped up.
Negan ignored you for a moment, waiting for Eugene’s response.
“I wouldn’t know anything about that…did you say wives meaning plural?”
“Hell yes, I did.”
Negan licked his lips, turning back to look at you.
“I’m afraid to say he did. Hi, Eugene. I’m Y/N. One of yours truly,” you waved, mocking Negan.
Negan bit his cheek and looked back at you, squinting his eyes.
“What did I say about the fuckin’ atitude darlin’?”
You bit your tongue. You weren’t in the mood to fight with him today, especially since you two were on decent terms.
Negan turned his attention back to Eugene, patting him on the back. Eugene flinched.
“That fine woman right there, Y/N, is my newest wife. For that reason, she’s off limits, but I’m sending Frankie, Amber, and Tanya to your room tonight. Don’t be too fuckin’ rough with ‘em, alright?” he chuckled.
Your face flushed at Negan’s compliment, but you couldn’t tell if it was a blush or if it was a wave of anger. He was acting like he owned you. Which essentially, he did. But when it came to your own true choices, you knew who was in control.
“Y/N, let’s head out of here and let Eugene make himself at home. Sherry is apparently fucking missing, so we need to pay Dwighty boy a little visit.”
Your stomach felt like it dropped to the floor.
Shit.

Meet Kamski & a Repair Job
You were confused as you were dragged into a vehicle and taken out to the middle of nowhere. You watched as Hank got out after he parked the car to take a phone call as Connor followed him, and you listen in to what the two were talking about as the pain of your damages were getting to you.
Is everything ok, Lieutenant?”
Chris was on patrol last night. He was attack by a bunch of Deviants. He said he was saved by Markus and Gavin. The kicker is than it was Gavin who stopped Markus from shooting Chris.”
Is Chris ok?”
Yeah, he’s in shock but he’s alive. What the hell.” Connor the turned back to the cat and he helped you get out of the car since your left leg couldn’t support your weight. You held on to Connor as the two walked to the door of the house and one stumbled as the two officers talked
Kamski left CyberLife ten years ago. Why did you wanna meet him?”
This guy created the first android to pass the Turing Test with Miss Cyborg help.” He gestured to you. “And he’s the other founders of CyberLife. If Y/N can’t or won’t tell about deviants, he’s our only other option.”
And Miss Dechart is here, why?”
Because she requested it. He’s the only one other than her android that she said had that knows how to do the repairs that she needs on her prosthetic and that she trusts.”
Hi.” Before Hank could say anymore. The Chloe saw you leaning on Connor and she grabbed you and said
Elijah has been waiting for you, Y/N” You leaned on her as she lead you to Elijah’s lab and then went back to deal with Hank and Connor. Elijah walked in and saw the cuffed woman with her white arm and leg.
What did you do this time?” he asked as you had a smile on your face.
I went and help start an peaceful revolution and I took a bullet to the joint where the biocomponents meet the rest of my body and I didn’t want anyone mess around with them and finding out what you did to save me.” He tinkered with my arm and leg trying to get back in working condition
Hey Y/N,” he looked up at your face
What Eli?”
I would like you to do me a favor.” He explained his plan to you as he finished repairing your prosthetics. “How comfortable do you feel revealing the truth to the Lieutenant and Connor.” You just shake your head and said
Do whatever feels right and I’ll follow your lead because I know you have the photo of us and I never understood why when an android scans it, it still list my death date even though technical I am alive.”
~***~
3rd person POV
Connor was scanning the room that the Chloe had left them in as she took Y/N to see Kamski. There was a photo that caught his eye of a group of five people smiling that confused it with the information that he got from scanning it.

This is a photo of the important people in Kamski life.” He said. “In order is his fiancée who I can only assume” He paused as he thought of his word choice. “No, that I know is Y/N, his AI professor, and mentor Amanda Stern, himself, the GR200 prototype or as we know it by the name Gavin, and the little girl on Gavin’s shoulder is his and Y/N’s daughter, Ailis.” Connor paused as it tried to find the right words.
But three of the five are dead.” Hank gave Connor a confused look as Connor pulled up newspaper from the time of their deaths. “Amanda Stern died from Stage 4 lung cancer.” He paused as he read the information of Y/N’s and Ailis’ death. “Ailis was six at the time, Y/N took her into work the same day that Amanda died. There was a terrorist attack on the lab that Y/N was working in. The firefighters had a choice between saving Ailis or Y/N. Y/N had the most likely chance of survival, so they save her instead of Ailis.” He paused again as he continued to read the newspaper.
But Y/N was in a coma for four month and was consider brain dead at the two-month mark, but Elijah didn’t want to pull the plug on her, but he eventually did. He lost three of the most important people in his life all on the same day”
My one question? Who have we been dealing with then. She seems so human like, is she an android.” Before Connor or Hank could ask each other more questions. Chloe appeared and escorted them into another room. They entered a room with a red pool and two Chloe’s in the water and one out of the water. Connor saw Y/N sitting in a chair as she chatted with the Chloe that was out of the water. She looked up and saw the duo and flashed them a smile as Elijah got out of the pool as another Chloe dressed him in a black robe and he put his hair up in a messy man bun.
Y/N POV
I’m Lieutenant Anderson. This is Connor.” You smiled as Hank introduced himself and Connor to Eli
What can I do for you, Lt? You’re not just here to allow me to repair my dear friend’s prosthetics.” He said as he gestured to Y/N, who got up and stood next to Elijah and Chloe
Sir, we’re investigating Deviants. I know you left CyberLife years ago, but I was hoping you’d be able to tell us something we don’t know.” Kamski looked at you and smiled.
Deviants, fascinating, aren’t they? Perfect beings with infinite intelligence, and now they have free will. Machines are so superior to us, confrontation was inevitable.” You looked away as Kamski spoke. “Humanity’s greatest achievement threatens to be its downfall. Isn’t it ironic? Right Y/N, my partner in crime?” you nodded your head as you knew what Connor was probably going to say unless he was more Deviant then he lets on
We need to understand how androids become Deviants. Do you know anything that could help us?”
All ideas are viruses that spread like epidemics. Is the desire to be free a contagious disease?” Elijah said as Hank jumped into the conversation
Listen, I didn’t come here to talk philosophy. The machines you created may be planning a revolution. Either you can tell us something that’ll be helpful, or we will be on our way.” Elijah looked at Connor as you glanced over to the android and caught a small frown on his face that turned neutral as soon as he caught you staring
What about you, Connor? Whose side are you on?”
I have no side. I was designed to stop Deviants, and that’s what I intend to do.” Kamski gave a chuckle as he said
Well, that’s what you’re programmed to say but you what do you really want?
What I want is not important.”
Y/N?” He turned to you as you walked over to Elijah and then he turned back to Connor and it made Connor confused. “Connor what if I told you, the reason behind Miss Dechart’s Biocomponents.” This pikes Connor interest.
“I bet you have an inkling about it, though. The photo probably told you everything you need to know, that my best friend, my fiancée and co-founder of CyberLife was killed the same day that my mentor passed away.” Kamski turned away to face me as he spoke to Hank and Connor. “Y/N, she was working on a project to replace blood with a blood-Thirium mix for her prosthetics project and she had finished it that fateful day and a man was jealousy of her achievements decided to bomb her lab, that man killed my daughter.” He paused as a sad look appeared quickly on his face and disappeared as quick as it appeared.
“I was able to put my fiancée’s creation use in an unusual way and it worked. I turned her into an android with the memory of her humanity.” He turned and walked closer to you not answer any of the unanswered questions  and leave some more unanswered ones. “I’m sure you’re familiar with the Turing test. Mere formality, simple question of algorithms and computing capacity.” He face you in front of the two as he continued to speak. “What interests me is whether machines are capable of empathy. I call it ‘the Kamski test,’ it’s very simple, you’ll see.” Hank was confused but Connor knew what you were.
“Magnificent, isn’t it? The first time that a human’s memories were transferred into an android, but it is still a machine, isn’t it? What is it, really, a piece of plastic imitating a human who died too soon? Or a living being?” Kamski walked to a drawer behind it and opened the drawer and pulled out a gun. “With a soul.” He turned to face the duo with the gun in his hand as you went down to your knees. “It’s up to you to answer that fascinating question, Connor. Destroy this machine who masquerades as a human, and my loving fiancée, and I’ll tell you all I know. Or spare it, if you feel it’s alive but you’ll leave here without learnt anything from me.” Connor was stare at Elijah as he handed him the gun and pointed it right at my forehead
Okay,” Hank said. “I think we’re done here.” Hank turned to leave. “Come on, Connor. Let’s go. Sorry to get you outta your pool.”
What’s more important to you, Connor? Your investigation, or the life of this abomination, neither human or android but both?” You noticed Connor’s LED blinking yellow as Elijah spoke. “Decide who you are. An obedient machine or a living being endowed with free will.”
That’s enough! Connor, we’re leaving.”
Pull the trigger.”
Connor! Don’t”
Just do it Connor! I am just like you, I am expendable for my fiancé, he can just make me a new body! ” You screamed as your voice waivered and if you had a LED it would be flashing a solid red
And I’ll tell you what you wanna know.” You closed your eyes knowing that you’ll awake on Elijah’s work table in a new body none worst the wear. You waited for the bang, but it never came, and you open your eyes and saw Connor handing the gun back to Elijah as he spoke
Fascinating, CyberLife’s last chance to save humanity is itself a Deviant.”
I’m…. I’m not a Deviant.”
You preferred to spare a machine rather than accomplish your mission.” Elijah helped you up as you walked towards Hank. “You saw a living being in Y/N. Someone in all actually shouldn’t be alive but she is. You showed empathy.” He paused as he helped Y/N up from the floor. “A war is coming; you’ll have to choose your side. Will you betray your own people or stand up against your creators? What could be worse than having to choose between two evils?” The words that Kamski said brought up memories of something that Y/N, and Gavin had said to them
Connor, there is a peaceful war brewing, and there will be a time that you’ll need to choose which side you are on, the humans or your people. At least I know what side I’m on, what about you.”
I…. I don’t care if I get sent to prison for life, Lieutenant I just want to make sure my creations become free. As Gavin said that faithful day, there is a peaceful war is brewing for freedom for android and I know what side I’m going to be on. What about you Lieutenant, whose side are you on? Or what about Connor, which side is he on, the humans or his people?”  Hank grabbed Connor as he said
Let’s get outta here.”  You three turned to leave as Elijah said something to Connor and he stopped walking
By the way, I always leave an emergency exit in my programs. You never know.” Connor caught up with you guys outside.
Why didn’t you shoot me, Connor?” You asked as you looked at the android.
I don’t know, Y/N, I don’t fucking know. I just saw the fear in your eyes and I couldn’t that’s all and.”
And what, Connor?”
I could see the heartbreak in Kamski’s eye, like he didn’t want me to shoot you for some reason.” He finally looked you in the eye. “And I knew how much it would hurt him to see his fiancée died again with a low chance of coming back with all her memory.” You let out a sigh. He was become Deviant and he couldn’t accept it, but he is showing the same traits as Gavin did when he was first becoming Deviant and all that he need was you talking to him
You’re always saying you would do anything to accomplish your mission.” Hank said as he looked at Connor. “That was our chance to learn something, and you let it go.” Connor who you thought was a machine seem to be angry at Hank as he spoke
Yeah, I know what I should’ve done! I told you I couldn’t. I’m sorry! Okay? But still I learned something that may or may not connect to the Deviants case.”
Maybe you did the right thing.” Hank said as he escorted you down to his car as he looked back at Connor who was in shock as he eventually followed. “Even if Y/N wasn’t a human android hybrid or whatever you call her would or could you’ve shoot one of the Chloe’s instead?”
I don’t know Lieutenant I don’t know.”
