The yellow brick road is looking a little worse for wear in this entry of Oz Month, where Jas must finally tackle the infamous flop that traumatized even the hardy Gen X kids, Return to Oz... but is it really as awful as its reputation, or is this a hidden gem of whimsigoth goodness that deserves more love? Join Jas with Return to Oz superfan Charley, just Oz in general superfan Bex, and of course a couple of delightful nerds named River and Leif as we discuss whether or not this movie should be shown to children, how it captures the tone if not the letter of the original novels, and the multiple trans icons in this story! This podcast contains swearing and discussions of violence, horror imagery, and psychiatric abuse.

Interpol Calling: Cargo Of Death (1.35, ITC, 1960)
"I'll send an international alert to all police forces."
"Tell them all cholera vaccine must be tested before use."
"We'd better pray nobody gets the vaccine before they get the message!"
#interpol calling#itc#1960#classic tv#charles korvin#edwin richfield#surya kumari#marne maitland#laurence payne#john gatrell#john a. tinn#john cairney#arthur lawrence#joe enrikie#eddie powell#guy standeven#i liked this one!#it was a little different#in that the focus was less on catching the villains and more on preventing an outbreak of cholera#one of the first episodes was similarly about defusing a ww2 bomb#the series could have benefitted from less crimes of the week and more exploration of the different types of cases#interpol might be used on#although thinking about it would interpol have been involved?#i guess this would be a world health organisation thing#whatever it was fun#laurence payne gets to be shifty but not entirely evil#and mostly the indian characters are played by poc which is refreshing and something this series has been fairly good at#the exception being john cairney who stands out like a sore thumb#the end draws near for interpol calling#will i get my edwin heavy episode?
