Guppies!

Female guppies tend to favour males with orange spots on them! Orange spots appear to be an indicator of a better swimmer and even a better forager, as the orange pigment needed for the spots comes from a fruit that guppies like to eat!

There are 4 new guppies in the shrimp bucket!!!

Our mosquito prevention crew are all boys. Definitely made the guppy mistake before and ended up with a breeding mass of fish. So only boys since they may have to fit in a 10 gallon aquarium in the colder months.

There is 1 sunrise tequila guppy and the other 3 are different colors of dumbo ear guppy. The lads look so good in the big bucket. Though it's impossible to get a good picture as the moving water plus moving fish combo leads to pretty fish blurs.

The boys seem to really like the power of the filter output. They keep swimming back into it to ride the stream. The sunrise seems to be the boldest surfer of them all. Hopefully they won't be too rowdy for the shrimp!!

After three months of living peacefully together, SOMEONE (my dwarf guarami) decided to eat my youngest guppy:(

If I had to guess, the guppy wasn’t feeling great for whatever reason, and my guarami took it upon himself to either smack in his corpse or put him out of his misery.

I keep fish and sometimes breed them (free fish hack). At the moment I have some beautiful fellows that are getting up there in age, so it's time to create more.

I separate all of my fish by their gendies as soon as you can possibly tell them apart to keep the population of my tanks where I want it, and to prevent inbreeding (and all of the complications that stem from that). These lads have effectively never seen a girl.

When I added the female to continue their legacy, they didn't know what to do. So they did what any respectable man might do in that confusing situation: ignored her and continued having sex with each other.

So preoccupied with one another are they that I'm honestly not sure if they will ever include her in any way that matters. Their bloodline ends with gay sex, and tbh, I kinda love that for them.

The g in lgbtq stands for guppy. 🌈
