Twenty Questions for Fic Writers
Thank you so much @unmaskedcardinal for the tag!!
How many works do you have on Ao3?
29 total, but I haven't spent the time crossposting my old ff.net fics yet
2. What's your total Ao3 word count?
198,683
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Like, actively? Cause uh, I'm the kind of person who needs to finish the fic before I can post it, and so I'm currently in the process of a whole bunch of fics that I haven't yet posted. Those are Gunsmoke (radio version), MASH, Star Wars: Legends + Star Wars: prequels, Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and the DCU (but more like, specifically the all media types of Batman and Superman specifically)
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Truth/Dare (revalink, college!AU, rated T)
Rainy-day Homework (ganlink, college!AU, rated G)
but when i'm alone on the longest nights, i think of you and your fairy lights (beedlink, mostly canon compliant, rated E)
Missing Memories (revalink, angst, rated T)
An Unexpected Picnic (revalink, pre-Calamity, rated G)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I try to! Recently I haven't been as good about keeping up with them because of my chronic illness stuff, but when I have a good day I try to get them done :) I think it's really fun to connect with people who have similar tastes as I do, and get to discuss headcanons or plot points or what have you!!
6. What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I don't usually write things that end on angst, I usually aim for hurt/comfort or at least some form of hopeful ending. I've been told that Missing Memories is my angstiest fic, but I think that title is actually held by Pompeii (If You Close Your Eyes) (song fic)
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I'd say if i were to save you, would you do the same (kylux). It's the whole surviving against all odds and then looking toward the future thing, you know?
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Not on Ao3, but I have on ff.net. It's been a few years since those days though!
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I do!! I just don't post it, for reasons related to I haven't finished the fics in question yet lol. I try to write it as a way for the characters to explore each other and connect on a different level beyond the usual grime and gore and horror of the worlds they live in.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
So. I don't have any posted yet oh no I've said this like five times by now ahh, however I have plot bunnies for a MASH/Star Wars: prequels crossover, and I just started plotting out a Gunsmoke/DCU crossover. I think the Gunsmoke/DCU one is crazier exclusively because it's a very tiny fandom for a radio/TV show from the 50's mixed with the whole Batman and Superman fandoms, which. Kind of a large set of fandoms there ngl
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I have no idea. Probably, but I haven't heard about it.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I did the 2021 Kylux Big Bang with @viraaja and the 2021 Obikin Big Bang with @skittlles !! I'd love to do more work with others at some point, genuinely wonderful experiences!
14. What's your all-time favourite ship?
Is it a cop out to say I just don't have one? I never really leave a fandom, even once I'm not actively writing for it, I just kind of cycle through them, so I cycle through my ships accordingly. Maybe PruCan (Hetalia), if only because they're my oldest otp??
15. What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
Well. Ideally none of them. I have every intention of eventually finishing everything I'm currently writing, hence why I refuse to post them until they're done. That said, I've been sitting on several mostly-finished fics for like three+ years without actively working on them so. We'll see.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I've been told my characterisation is really good, and I try to get as accurate a voice as I can for every character!!!
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Repeating phrases and words without intending to. I used that exact word three times in like three paragraphs in a row, why am I like this!
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
Two thoughts: if you know enough of the language to have proper grammar and etc sure go for it, but also, is it being used with or without translation? If no one else is supposed to understand (besides the reader), I think that's very fun and 10/10, but if the other characters are supposed to understand and it's a lengthy bit, I think there can be other more effective ways to get that across.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Phineas and Ferb, and honestly I regret deleting those fics so so much now! I have no records of my writing from back then, and yes I found them cringe as an older teenager but now I just wish I could go back and tell my 13 year old self how far we've come.
20. Favourite fic you've written?
Whatever is most recently finished. Right now that's but when i'm alone on the longest nights, i think of you and your fairy lights :)
No pressure tags:
@viraaja @steine-druff @aeriedwelling @someguywriting @astrophilic-soul and anyone else who wants to join!

Stormy Night
A secret Santa present for @mossdonnatella! You said you like AUs, I hope you like this one! A park ranger/hiker au. This will be posted on my ao3 too :) (Lemme note that I've never been hiking or camping, so sorry for any inexperience! Lol) MERRY MERRY CHRISTMAS! ------------ Joyce was helplessly lost. And injured. In the dark rainy night she had lost sight of the trail, wandered off into the deep woods. Frustration and fear settled in her bones as she sat on a nearby log. The wind was howling so, she knew there would be no way to pitch her tent. There was no means of shelter anywhere and she brushed the wet hair from her face, the windy rain stinging her face. The knees of her jeans were ripped to shreds, her knees scraped and bloody from where she had fallen in the river. Her ankle twisted from a tree root. She couldn't hobble far. Now she sat cold and shivering in the open rain in utter defeat, her rain coat little shelter from the rain. Until she remembered the flare gun in her backpack. She knew the ranger station wasn't far away, could they possibly see her? She retrieved her gun, aimed it as far up as she could, and shot. It lit up the air momentarily and she sighed, shoving the spent gun back into her pack. Now we pray. She huddled into a ball with her back against the log, her pack blocking the blowing rain from her face. Much later she had nearly fallen asleep when she heard the voice. A man's voice calling out from the darkness. "Hello! Is someone in distress? I saw the flare." "Yes! I'm here! I'm here!" A flashlight illuminated the area she was and she sat up to wave her arms. A figured stepped out of the shadows. A tall, broad shouldered man. "Help me please, I'm injured!" He walked over to her, reached out his hand. "Can you walk, ma'am?" "I think I twisted my ankle, I can't put pressure on it." He nodded and reached to lift her. "I'm going to take you to my atv, okay? This storm is nasty, you can bunk at the station for the night." She nodded and allowed him to lift her. He loaded her and her gear onto the bright orange atv before climbing on himself. Wet, injured, and tired, Joyce held onto the man's middle for dear life as the road back to the station. . Joyce awoke in an unfamiliar place, almost forgetting where she was. The area was a log cabin and she was on a couch in what she assumed was the main room. Her muddy boots and wet socks had been removed and her injured ankle wrapped. She shivered under the blanket, her wet clothes clinging to her. "Hello?" She called out faintly. A handsome, bearded face with bright blue eyes appeared around a doorframe. "Oh! You're awake!" He said with a half smile. "If you have dry clothes, the bathroom's past that door over there." He said gesturing towards a door in the back. Joyce frowned. "I fell in the river. Everything got soaked." He stepped from around the doorway. He had a mug of coffee in hand and he drank from it while he thought. "I suppose one of my shirts would look like a dress on you." He chuckled. "Best I can offer. Not very modest I'm afraid." "I'll gladly t-take you u-up on it." She said, stumbling over her words as she shivered. He walked through the room, headed for a different door at the back. "You know you're really lucky I saw that flare. We were just switching shifts. Benny's passing out for the night." He disappeared into the next room and quickly reappeared with a white henley. He was right. It looked like a dress. She felt like a child in their father's clothes. She huffed at herself in the bathroom mirror as she twisted her hair up into a messy bun. Stupid, stupid. She thought experience camping with her father when she was younger qualified her for going out on her own. Now here she was with a swollen, twisted ankle in a park ranger's oversized shirt. She limped back into the room and found him sitting on the couch, his socked feet resting on the coffee table in front of him while he watched tv. He gestured to the end of the table. "Coffee and doughnuts okay?" He asked. "You're a godsend-" had he told her his name? "Jim Hopper. But everyone calls me Hop." He said as she limped back to the cot. "I'm Joyce Byers." "Hows the ankle, Joyce?" She sat and rolled it lightly in the ace bandage he had wrapped it with. "The pressure feels nice. Thank you. For taking care of me." "That's my job." He smiled. "Park ranger to the rescue." She smiled to mirror his. Both of them fell into watching a rerun of Gunsmoke together as they silently sipped their coffee. Joyce was warm in the thermal blanket he had given her. He sat with his feet crossed on the table, dressed in a black henley and denim. They were sitting just close enough that she could smell his woodsy, leather scented cologne. The storm raged outside, the wind and rain pounded the windows. Occasionally the radio in the corner crackled with messages, startling her but not fazing him. A weather warning flashed across the bottom of the screen cautioning severe weather. "Joyce, I think you were the only person trying to camp in my park tonight, I only saw one car parked down at the base of the mountain." "I didn't check the weather." She admitted. "Stupid move." "Things happen." He said. "You don't know until you learn." "Well, I'm never camping again." She said mournfully. "You just need someone to show you how." He said, looking at her with those beautiful blue eyes of his. Joyce was caught off guard and forgot the comeback remark she was going to make. He was right, she had no clue what she was doing. The pair fell into easy conversation, like old friends catching up. She noticed when he shifted his body until he was open to her, his arm stretching across the back of the couch so that his fingers were nearly brushing her shoulder. It was after midnight before either of them looked up at the clock. "Take my bed, I'll take the couch." He offered. "No, no! Couch is fine!" "You're barely dressed, my bed is warmer." "I can't put you out of your own bed!" She protested. So, unable to decide, they watched more tv. And when he fell asleep sitting up she lay down across the couch to lay her head on his thigh. She'd enjoy him for a few minutes. Just a few minutes. Then she'd wake him up and insist he go climb in his own bed. She curled up and pulled the blanket up around her shoulders. Just a few minutes. Then she'd wake him. . It was he who woke her. She squinted in the morning light. "Shit! I'm sorry! I meant to wake you up!" She apologized. He rolled his neck a few times, hunched and unhunched his shoulders. "It's okay, I kind of died on you. I wish you would have taken the bed though, you would have been much warmer." A few strands had fallen out of her bun and he pushed them back from her face, tucked them behind her ear. "I uh, thanks for letting me spend the night." She though of her clothes she had hanging in the bathroom to dry. "I guess I should head back to my car." When she stood she winced in pain. "I can take you down the mountain on my atv." He offered. "But let me make you breakfast first." He thought about it. "I seldom get visitors. It was nice, having you here." He admitted. "You can stay longer, you know. Until your ankle is better." She raised her eyebrows at him. "What if I'm an axe murderer or something?" "You're injured, what are you gonna do? Limp me down and stab me?" He teased lightly. "Fair point. What if you're an axe murderer?" She asked. "I don't see any axes around." He said with a wink before he stood. "Sit back down, I'll make breakfast." He stopped at the doorway, turned around to look back at her. "By the way, if you wanted to cuddle all you had to do was ask." He teased. "I wouldn't say no."

A, H, P
[for this ask game here]
Thank you so much for the ask!!! <3
A - Ships that you currently like a lot. (They don’t have to be OTPs because not everyone has OTPs.) Friendships, pairings, threesomes, etc. are allowed: buckle up, I have a few >:) First of all, Britt Reid/Kato, because oh my GOD Kato is so hot and I love him but also Britt is such a babygirl and I love the way they interact, especially in the radio drama!! Kato is always saving the Green Hornet and I love this for them!! Next: Clark Kent/Dick Grayson, specifically the way they are in the Dan Mora World's Finest, but honestly I'm just as here for Superman/Nightwing and I may or may not be working on a PWP fic that may or may not involve mid-air sex. Also, I'm still on my Dick Grayson/Bruce Wayne kick, I love themb, they are everything to me, I swear I will finish those fics I started about them at some point!! And finally: Barry Allen/Leonard Snart my beloveds. Themb <3 I just. There are no words to describe just how much their dynamic means to me. I'm still working on the rest of my insominac!AU fics, but just. Themb <3333
H - What is your favorite source text for fandom stuff (e.g., TV shows, movies, books, anime, Western animation, etc.)?: radio dramas! Which, hot take I know, I am pretty sure I am the sole person in the Gunsmoke and Green Hornet radio drama fandoms on tumblr, but I love this for me. If you have never listened to a radio drama from the 50s or earlier, they are DELIGHTFUL and I cannot express enough just how much I love them! I especially like Gunsmoke and the Green Hornet because they've got screen versions of the same/similar episodes, Gunsmoke in the television show and the Green Hornet in the 1940 serial. Also, they're both super great for gay shipping material, Matt/Chester and Britt/Kato my beloveds
P - Invent a random AU for any fandom (we always need more ideas): I already have an Old West!AU but I am making another one 😌 AU where Barry is the deputy Marshal out of Dodge City and Len is a hired gunman >:)
#ask game#me; trying desparately to not infodump about the green hornet *again*#thanks again for the ask!!
