#Repost @history_of_gunz ・・・ Here is my favorite gun in my personal collection. At first look it just looks like a M1917 revolver, but there is way more to it! This pistol was made in 1915, for the British military in WW1, so it was originally chambered in .455 Eley. That also explains the crazy amount of British proofs all over it. But, when you look at the barrel, you can see that .455 has been crossed out, and just .45 remains. Once WWI was over, it made its way back to the United States where is was rebored to take 45 acp. However, my grandfather served in Korea, and when he was over there he passed a British Paratrooper who had it on his hip, and my grandfather fell in love with it. So he traded his 1911 for this revolver! From Korea, which I have no idea how it ended up in Korea with a British paratrooper, my grandfather smuggled it back to the USA by hiding it in his boot, and was kind enough to pass it down to me. Today, it remains in safe hands in my gunsafe.
