Osmangazi Belediyesi, 4 Ekim Dünya Hayvanları Koruma Günü için kutlama etkinliği düzenledi. Sahipsiz Hayvanlar Doğal Yaşam ve Tedavi Merkezi’ndeki can dostların, birbirinden renkli kıyafetler giyerek minik misafirleri ile bir araya geldiği etkinlik, adeta bayram havasında geçti.

BURSA (İGFA) – Doğaya, çevreye ve hayvanlara büyük değer veren Osmangazi Belediyesi, 4 Ekim Dünya Hayvanları Koruma Günü’nü Sahipsiz Hayvanlar Doğal Yaşam ve Tedavi Merkezi’nde düzenlenen etkinlikler ile kutladı. Barınakta yer alan kedi, köpek ve keçiler, kendileri için özel olarak dikilmiş olan birbirinden renkli kıyafetleri giyerek, minik ziyaretçilerini ağırladı. Her biri bir birinden sevimli olan can dostlar, etkinliğe katılanlar tarafından uzun süre sevildi. Can dostları ile vakit geçirme imkanı bulan öğrenciler, barınakta kalan kedi ve köpeklerin kulübelerini boyadı. Birbirinden güzel kıyafetleri ile misafirlerini ağırlayan kedi, köpek ve keçiler sevgi dolu bir gün geçirmenin keyfini yaşadı. 4 Ekim Dünya Hayvanları Koruma Günü kapsamında düzenlenen etkinliğe, Osmangazi Belediye Başkanı Erkan Aydın belediye başkan yardımcıları, öğrenciler ve vatandaşlar katıldı.

Osmangazi Belediye Başkanı Erkan Aydın, yaptığı konuşmada, “Sadakat ve sevgileriyle insanlar var olduğundan beri birlikte yaşadığımız bu can dostlarımızı sadece 4 Ekim’de değil, yılın her günü düşünmemiz ve onların da bir can taşıdığını unutmamız gerekiyor. Çocuklarımızı bu düşünceyle büyütmemiz gerekiyor. Belediyemizin tesisi olan Sahipsiz Hayvanlar Doğal Yaşam ve Tedavi Merkezi, Türkiye’nin hatta Avrupa’nın en modern hayvan barınaklarından bir tanesi. Avrupa’dan ödüllü bir tesis. Burada, 60 personel ile can dostlara hizmet vermekteyiz. Tesisimiz 900 hayvan kapasitesine sahip. Kediler için özel villalar dahi var. Can dostlarımıza, Bursa ve Osmangazi’de güzel bir gelecek kuralım. Onları sahiplenelim. Her canlı gibi onlar da bir aileye sahip olduklarında mutlu oluyorlar. Çocuklarımızın hayvanları, doğayı ve yeşili sevip korumaları geleceğimiz için çok önemli.  Güzel bir Bursa, Türkiye ve dünya olsun diye mücadele edeceğiz” dedi.

My personal thoughts are that, even though the engagement was most likely arranged by their parents, she really liked Aydin. He was smart, confident, only a few years older, and attractive. They seemed to have a cordial, if not good, relationship before Alex entered the picture. This is based on her jealousy when Aydin starts focusing more on Alex. It's not just a hit to her ego; she's actually hurt that he'd rather have Alex than her.

I also think she genuinely liked Alex. As first year college student, she lucked out in getting a roommate she actually wanted to hang out with. Perhaps she was excited to introduce her new best friend to her fiance, thinking they could all be friends and wouldn't that be great! I think she was probably caught off guard when Alex started touching her in the video call. And even more confused when Aydin liked it. But Aydin liked it, so she went with it.

But Aydin liked it too much. And now it's awkward because she didn't like it all that much. And she's also frustrated by how easy Alex is with everything. Why did she have to put herself on display in front of her fiance? If it was meant to make Aydin like her more, then Alex failed. He likes Alex now, and Alex thinks she's weird because she's bothered by this and it's nothing. Obviously Alex didn't mean to make Aydin focus on her. It's not Alex's fault. Nothing is ever Alex's fault. And maybe she's right. Aydin needs to straighten himself out and focus on his fiance.

Except Alex wants them to show off for Aydin again. And isn't that doing too much, going too far, for a man she claims not to be interested in? And worse, Aydin wants it too.

So it hurts when he can't rein it in. It hurts when their engagement is dissolved, and it's both of their fault. They cheated on her - with her in the room! And neither will admit it. They want to believe this was fate, or some sort of serendipitous meeting, out of their control. But the truth is they're selfish. And for a long time, Alex was able to reason with her, no, manipulate her into thinking she was just being paranoid and suspicious, but not anymore. Her eyes are open and she sees them for what they are: liars and cheaters and snakes. And she'll be damned if they think she's going to shut up about it.

And...it really hurts. Because she genuinely liked them. Maybe even loved them.

And when she sees the announcement in the papers that Aydin Khadir is getting married, and she sees the picture of him looking happy and satisfied with Alex, she'll know they deserve each other in the worst way. She'd be disgusted if she weren't so over it. At least now they have to admit she was right, and there was something between them all along and that they lied when they said it was just her in her head.

And she knows how the story goes. She's the villain when Alex tells it: the unreasonable, jealous ex-girlfriend that lost Alex her scholarship and forced her into a life of prostitution; that made an already hard life more difficult. She's the person Alex had to rise above.

But at least she can live with her head held up high because she didn't marry a man who would make her his mistress to her own best friend, a best friend who could never see herself in the light of the truth and admit that she was in the wrong.

Now, as for her future: I want to believe that she married the kind of man she deserved. One who when hearing about her major break up and the reason she's so gun-shy when it comes to love is justifiably angry on her behalf and can't believe she survived it. I want her to come out on the other side stronger, not bitter or jaded. I think there's a high possibility of that, given how much she fought with Alex and refused to just let it go and be quiet about it. But it could have also made her angry and cruel, ruined her ideas of love so that she ends up settling with a man that at least would keep his affairs quiet and out of her sight.

Honestly this story line confuses me so much, because PD writes it as if we're supposed to be on Alex's side and feel bad that the things she wanted were so close, just out of reach, and then taken away from her completely. Like she's a girl who had her wings broken but still managed to fly. But she expresses no real regret over what she did to her "friend." Even just a small reflection on her actions would be enough for me to say "she messed up, but at least she knows" and then feel bad for both Alex and the roommate (I'll never feel bad for Aydin. Guy screwed himself over and made it everyone's problem). But it's hard for me to see Alex as a victim when she's so determined to see herself in that role regardless of what she does to anyone else. Rika or Banks needed to give her a reality check. That's what good friends do for each other. At least when Rika heard the story, she targeted Aydin and not the ex-roommate (though I know that was just pd setting up the plot for NF and now I think the only reason they found Will was because Rika was actually looking for Aydin and they just happened to be in the same place).

Hey guys, today I was reading Nightfall again and I am so intrigued by Alex's ex roommate.

What do we know about her? I mean she was the victim in all this wasn't she? Her fiance was a pos her best friend stabbed her in the back? Do you think she loved Aydin? I think she did if she was engaged to him even though I think she too was forced just like him but if she got back together by that time she lost all of her love for him and now she genuinely hated Alex?

Any thoughts?

Alex was not one to talk of her past, especially to people she considered her future. However when a shady guard started his rounds, she was quick to speak of past ghosts. Her stories were enough to frighten you, after all he was here to assassinate Alex and those who stood in his way. She spent most of her time acting like it was another day in prison, completing her assigned jobs, talking with other inmates. Her eyes would frantically check around each corner, her sleep was light and full of nightmares, she could not relax.

She started her day like any other, picking up her shovel to restore the once thriving garden. For a moment, her worries slipped away as she let herself be distracted by her duty. Aydin was creating calculated moves in order to stay hidden and in doing so he assigned himself to garden patrol. He swaggered towards the greenhouse, hand on his gun for a swift movement. He made sure he was in sight of Alex, just enough to send her a message. Alex could feel a presence lurking so she looked up, her body froze as she observed the unknown guard. Aydin motioned his head towards the greenhouse before casually walking inside. Panic began to build inside Alex, her mind creating possible escapes. She hesitantly followed behind, looking around to make sure that the inmates were oblivious. From afar, you watched the interaction, a bad feeling settling in your gut. Your body shouted at you to move, to check up on Alex so you happily obliged. For each moment you couldn't see Alex, the faster your body would move. In no time you were standing at the entrance to the greenhouse. 

The door was slightly ajar as you peaked through the small opening. Your eyes fixated on the gun in the guards hands. A cold shiver flowed through you, this was the man from the stories. Your body was on pure instinct, abruptly charging through the doors and in front of Alex. Aydin's eyes widened at the figure in front of him. He could not believe that someone could be this foolish to step in front of a gun.

"What are you doing?" Alex harshly whispered behind you.

"I'm saving your ass" You offered a wink in return

"No, you're on a suicide mission, he'll kill us both" Alex nervously looked at Aydin whose face changed from surprised to angry.

"And who do you think you are?" He stepped forward, in an attempt to intimidate you.

"The distraction" Before he could analyse your words, you lunged forward, reaching for the gun. Alex watched in horror, waiting for the right moment to pull you out. You fought for dominance, rolling around the floor in fight for that gun. You were elated when you finally had a hold on it, pulling it closer to you. A loud bang echoed through the once peaceful greenhouse, both parties laid quietly on the floor. Alex rushed over to you, checking for a wound. Her hands were quick to find the blood pooling at your stomach. She compressed the wound, screaming for help from anyone who was close by. She turned to see Aydin, noticing his body fleeing from the greenhouse. Her eyes finally met yours, they were dull unlike the shine they used to have.

"I'm sorry" Alex mumbled through her tears. "I never wanted this"

"It's okay, I needed you to be safe" You weakly raised your hand to her cheek. She lent in to the touch that she loved so much. "Can I ask a favour?" Alex frantically nodded. "Please stay with me" Alex broke at your words, tears falling at a rapid pace. If you were to die in this place, you wanted it to be with Alex. You wanted her to be the last thing you saw before the lights go out. You laid there for what felt like hours, in silence, both accepting what is to come. Your eyes slowly closed, your arm landing with a thud on the floor. Alex looked at your lifeless body, her heart breaking. She lent down and placed a soft kiss on your lips, "I love you" she said for the first time. 3 words you will never hear but your body rested in peace, knowing her beauty drifted you off into a long sleep.

being raised in a multilingual family he is fluent in turkish and albanian as well as english. his father owned a restaurant whilst his mother worked as a florist. his father worked relentlessly to be successful and always taught aydın that if he wanted to achieve anything in life he would need to work hard and remain dedicated, he also told him regularly that.    ❝  it isn’t always about the money. ❞  

🇱🇮🇹🇹🇱🇪 🇩🇮🇩 🇦🇾🇩🇮🇳 🇰🇳🇴🇼 🇹🇭🇦🇹 🇭🇮🇸 🇫🇦🇹🇭🇪🇷, who’s restaurants had grown in size and numbers, had a gambling addiction.  he lost a lot of the families money and when things got so bad his father gambled away the restaurants as collateral whilst trying to gain back what he had already lost.  aydin was fifteen when this happened and as a result his parents had to sell their family home to make ends meet and move to a rough side of town to a place that was much smaller and more affordable, although with now only one income where his mother wasn’t making much as a florist they struggled.  aydın’s father then became dependent on alcohol, he’d lost everything except his family but he couldn’t see that and as time went on his father suffered from depression.  his father kept getting worse until he was nothing but empty body, the father he knew and loved was gone.  physically he was there, always sat in the same spot on the couch holding same bottle of liquor and the same vacant expression on his face.  his father had long since given up until the day aydın turned eighteen.  the day after his eighteenth birthday aydin found his father with a bullet through his skull, sat in the same place on the couch now covered in blood after he’d committed suicide.  this was the darkest day of  aydın’s life.  but with his mother by his side he was resilient, choosing to remember the first part of his fathers lessons. ❝  work hard and remain dedicated ❞  

🇦🇾🇩🇮🇳 🇼🇦🇸 🇱🇺🇨🇰🇾 🇪🇳🇴🇺🇬🇭 🇹🇴 🇴🇧🇹🇦🇮🇳 🇦 🇸🇵🇴🇷🇹🇸 🇸🇨🇭🇴🇱🇦🇷🇸🇭🇮🇵,   which enabled him to pursue a double major in art and business.  during this time he also worked part time at a small tattoo shop in queens whilst he was studying.  after graduating he continued to work within the tattoo shop full time with the hopes of using his education to further his career within this industry.  a few years later he went into business with a friend to open up their own studio,  and after many years they’d built an incredible reputation and expanded to a larger location.   aydın was dedicated to the success of   𝐤𝐚𝐫𝐚 𝐤𝐞𝐝𝐢 𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐨𝐨 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐨𝐬 and as his work spoke for itself it drew in more and more custom from celebrities, the elite, socialites and of course the latinx mafia.  his work is very expensive and there is an incredibly long waiting list,  but it’s worth the wait.  his business partner does not know however aydın uses kara kedi to launder money for the latinx mafia.  the amount of money he moves for them earns himself a generous cut.  at first he was doing this for the extra money to help support his mother and get her into a safer neighborhood and to have a better life.  eventually he was able to support her early retirement and although he started off being careful he quickly ended up with more money than he really needed.  from here he started to get indulge and splash out on the finer things in life.  over time he became accustomed to the lifestyle money could buy and has become greedy.  although his family mean everything to him he firmly believes his father was wrong.  it is all about the money.

Did you see the iichliwp Instagram is following only Halsey and IMAX? Any theories why?

I did!! Here's my three theories, in order of likelihood:

1 - There will be some sort of cinematic component released alongside If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power. Knowing Halsey, I would bet on it being something ambitious - like a whole film that is scored to the album itself. More and more artists have been doing that ever since Beyonce's Lemonade. I could even see it having spoken parts like the recent projects by Machine Gun Kelly, and Melanie Martinez. But those artists only ever released those projects online (and I think maybe in some select regular theaters? I'm not sure.) As far as I know, no artist has ever done a visual album that released in IMAX.

So if that's what it is - that's huge. I would lose my mind, and spend way too much money on IMAX tickets. It's what I'm really hoping for, and given what I know about Halsey and their artistic tendencies, the one I think is most likely.

Side note - this is unfortunately why I think IICHLIWP won't be a punk rock album, certainly not in its entirety. They're working with Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. I know a lot of folks are focused on the Trent Reznor part, and are assuming it's going to be a lot like Nine Inch Nails, but the work that Reznor and Ross have done together have been film scores and emotive, atmospheric pieces, not punk or industrial. The last project Reznor and Ross did together was Disney's Soul. I think it makes a lot of sense that Reznor and Ross might have gotten involved in order to turn a "typical" Halsey album into a film score. Halsey loves cinema and film - they cited that as a huge inspiration behind Hopeless Fountain Kingdom. I do think industrial influences will be present in the music - that's obvious from the snippet alone, - but I don't think the entire album will be hard rock. If it's a film score or movie soundtrack, it isn't likely to be all one genre or mood.

2 - I think there's a small potential that it could be the long-rumored Halsey biopic. I don't know if that's still in the works. I think I saw a quote from Halsey saying that they met Alev Aydin when he was working on that biopic, and that they (the couple) slowly fell in love over that process. But Halsey didn't say anything about whether or not the biopic was still happening when they mentioned that. I don't think this is super likely, as it would be weird to tie one album to the entire Halsey story. Unless the album is like, a retrospective on their life and career? So I'd mark this theory as a "maybe."

3 - My last theory is that it's some sort of IMAX concert experience. I'd be the most disappointed if this was all it was, but it's certainly a possibility, and perhaps more realistic than an entire film with a story.

The powerful  John Lewis

Early Life

John Robert Lewis was born outside of Troy, Alabama, on February 21, 1940. Lewis had a happy childhood — though he needed to work hard to assist his sharecropper parents — but he chafed against the unfairness of segregation. He was particularly disappointed when the Supreme Court ruling in 1954's Brown v. The Board of Education didn't affect his school life. However, hearing Martin Luther King Jr.'s sermons and news of the 1955-56 Montgomery bus boycott inspired Lewis to act for the changes he wanted to see.

Civil Rights Struggle

In 1957, Lewis left Alabama to attend the American Baptist Theological Seminary in Nashville, Tennessee. There, he learned about nonviolent protest and helped to organize sit-ins at segregated lunch counters. He was arrested during these demonstrations, which upset his mother, but Lewis was committed to the Civil Rights Movement and went on to participate in the Freedom Rides of 1961.

Freedom Riders challenged the segregated facilities they encountered at interstate bus terminals in the South, which had been deemed illegal by the Supreme Court. It was dangerous work that resulted in arrests and beatings for many involved, including Lewis.

In 1963, Lewis became chairman of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee. That same year, as one of the "Big Six" leaders of the Civil Rights Movement, he helped plan the March on Washington. Lewis—the youngest speaker at the event—had to alter his speech in order to please other organizers, but still delivered a powerful oration that declared, "We all recognize the fact that if any radical social, political and economic changes are to take place in our society, the people, the masses, must bring them about."

After the March on Washington, in 1964, the Civil Rights Act became law. However, this did not make it easier for African Americans to vote in the South. To bring attention to this struggle, Lewis and Hosea Williams led a march from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama, on March 7, 1965. After crossing the Edmund Pettus Bridge, the marchers were attacked by state troopers. Lewis was severely beaten once more, this time suffering a fractured skull.

The violent attacks were recorded and disseminated throughout the country, and the images proved too powerful to ignore. "Bloody Sunday," as the day was labeled, sped up the passage of 1965's Voting Rights Act.

U.S. Congressman

Lewis left the SNCC in 1966. Though devastated by the assassinations of King and Robert Kennedy in 1968, Lewis continued his work to enfranchise minorities. In 1970, he became director of the Voter Education Project. During his tenure, the VEP helped to register millions of minority voters.

Lewis ran for office himself in 1981, winning a seat on the Atlanta City Council. In 1986, he was elected to the House of Representatives. Today, representing Georgia's 5th District, he is one of the most respected members of Congress. Since entering office, he has called for healthcare reform, measures to fight poverty and improvements in education. Most importantly, he oversaw multiple renewals of the Voting Rights Act. When the Supreme Court struck down part of the law in 2013's Shelby County v. Holder, Lewis decried the decision as a "dagger into the heart" of voting rights.

In the wake of the mass shooting that took place on June 12, 2016, in Orlando, Florida, Lewis led a sit-in comprised of approximately 40 House Democrats on the floor of the House of Representatives on June 22nd in an attempt to bring attention and force Congress to address gun violence by taking definitive legislative action. “We have been too quiet for too long,” Lewis said. “There comes a time when you have to say something. You have to make a little noise. You have to move your feet. This is the time.”

The protest came just days after several measures including a bill regarding background checks and adding restrictions on the purchase of guns by people on the federal no-fly list, failed in the Senate. Senator Chris Murphy applauded the protest. Murphy had previously led a filibuster in the Senate which led to the subsequent vote.

Clashing With Donald Trump

Lewis also spoke out against the presidency of Donald Trump, who was elected on November 8, 2016. In an interview with Chuck Todd for NBC News’ Meet the Press, which aired on January 15, 2017, Lewis said he didn’t believe Trump was a “legitimate president” because of Russian interference in the election. “I think the Russians participated in helping this man get elected and they helped destroy the candidacy of Hillary Clinton,” Lewis said in the interview. He also said he would not attend Trump’s inauguration.

Trump responded on Twitter, criticizing Lewis’ work as a congressman and tweeting that Lewis was “All talk, talk, talk - no action or results. Sad!” The president-elect's attack on Lewis came just days before the Martin Luther King holiday, and prompted vocal support of the civil rights icon across social media. Several Democratic lawmakers also joined in support of Lewis, and boycotted Trump’s inauguration.

Trump continued his war of words, tweeting: “John Lewis said about my inauguration, ‘It will be the first one that I've missed.’ WRONG (or lie)! He boycotted Bush 43 also because he...thought it would be hypocritical to attend Bush's swearing-in....he doesn't believe Bush is the true elected president. Sound familiar!”

A spokeswoman for Lewis confirmed that he had missed the inauguration of George W. Bush: "His absence at that time was also a form of dissent. He did not believe the outcome of that election, including the controversies around the results in Florida and the unprecedented intervention of the U.S. Supreme Court, reflected a free, fair and open democratic process.”

Cancer Diagnosis

In December 2019, Lewis announced that he had been diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

Although he was "clear-eyed about the prognosis," Lewis said he felt encouraged that medical advancements had made this type of cancer treatable in many cases, adding that he intended to return to work as soon as possible.

Legacy

Though the Supreme Court's decision about the Voting Rights Act was a blow to Lewis, he has been encouraged by the progress that has occurred in his lifetime. After Barack Obama won the presidency in 2008, Lewis stated that "When we were organizing voter-registration drives, going on the Freedom Rides, sitting in, coming here to Washington for the first time, getting arrested, going to jail, being beaten, I never thought—I never dreamed—of the possibility that an African American would one day be elected president of the United States."

In addition to continuing his work in Congress, Lewis has reached out to a younger generation by helping to create a series of graphic novels about his work in the Civil Rights Movement. In 2016, he won the National Book Award for the third installment in the series March: Book Three, which marks the first time a graphic novel has received the honor.

He accepted the award with co-writer Andrew Aydin and illustrator Nate Powell and spoke of its significance in an emotional acceptance speech. “Some of you know I grew up in rural Alabama, very poor, very few books in our home,” Lewis said. “I remember in 1956, when I was 16 years old, going to the public library to get library cards, and we were told the library was for whites only and not for coloreds. And to come here and receive this honor, it’s too much.”

He also spoke about the importance of books in his life. “I had a wonderful teacher in elementary school who told me: ‘Read, my child, read’, and I tried to read everything," he said. "I love books.”

The civil rights icon has also been honored with numerous awards, including the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the NAACP's Spingarn Medal and the sole John F. Kennedy "Profile in Courage Award" for Lifetime Achievement.” (source)
