Marlene had been focused on her food in front of her - and her thoughts - and she had clearly zoned out of it for a moment. She snapped back the moment someone started talking to her and it made her look up. Ivy Parkinson came into view. Marlene had seen Ivy at Hogwarts for the first time. Two years older but only one year ahead of her in the classes. They hadn't particularly liked each other but Marlene definitely blamed that mostly on the fact that the other was a Slytherin and she was a Gryffindor.
Lately - as she had started her education of becoming a Medi-Witch, she had seen Ivy more and more. And it turned out that she wasn't half as bad as she had seemed. Not that Marlene was ready to confess that yet. And she had a feeling that Ivy felt the same as well.
"Of course, sit down. Thank you for waiting for my answer," Marlene mentioned as she looked at the woman who had sat down in front of her, crossing her arms so she could lean on top of the table. "I see you found the healthy option as well in here... There is not much choice, is there."

Some days, Ivy didn’t even bother to take a break. Sure, working eight hours overnight was hard, but she simply didn’t get hungry in the middle of the night. Tonight seemed to be an exception, however, with a grumbling stomach half way through her shift. With a sigh, Ivy WizMessaged a co-worker to cover her for half an hour, before heading down to the hospital cafeteria. The food didn’t look particularly appetizing, but she supposed she didn’t have any other choice.
She’d settled on a BLT sandwich and a side of fruit, figuring at least she’d try to get a healthy option if she was going to be eating this late at night. Glancing around, Ivy tried to find a place to sit. It seemed everybody had taken their lunch at the same time and there were few empty chairs. There was one familiar face, however, and while Ivy didn’t particularly like Marlene, she certainly didn’t hate her, either. And it was better than eating alone. “Can I sit here?” Ivy asked, not waiting for a reply as she placed her food down on the table across from Marlene and plopped down into the chair.
