What if Jekyll finds some really good painkillers (That he keeps for Hyde's injuries or something I guess) and uses them to get rid of the pain but it also means he doesn't notice when he makes the injury worse, knocking it against things and such. It's not until he enters a room and someone screams that he realizes that he's been bleeding everywhere and has lost way too much blood. It's only then that he starts to realize his light-headedness isn't a side effect of the painkillers

Ohh hh ohoho my god, the angst, the drama, the absolute dumbassery, the absolute panic from the lodgers. Henry knowing he can't get help because getting help would mean questions, he can't admit to the lodgers that he got caught in the trap because A) he doesn't want to admit that he is the creature that they are trying to catch and B) he doesn't want them to think he is stupid for... Well, getting caught, and he can't really go to a doctor or even Lanyon about it because they would ask questions too. He whips up the strongest painkiller he has and bandages his arm tightly enough that it almost cuts off his circulation, but he is desperate and his own health is the least of his worries. He goes on about his day just fine until the evening, he is lightly shaking and his head feels light but he bites his tongue and pushes on, not wanting to seem weak in front of the Lodgers (hehe yes I did read your fic with that concept and it's one of my faves <3). He stumbles into a room, he tries to give the Lodgers a slight smile as if to play off the fact he feels like he is going to pass out, he hears something shatter and then a scream and the Lodgers all look at him in absolute horror, he looks down on his arm and ohoho shit ahahah well would you look at that, his entire shirt is stained red with blood all of a sudden. His blood. Nice.

I'd love to imagine Virginia or something running up to him to shake some sense into (or answers out of) him but all the noises and the shaking gets overwhelming so he just... passes out in Virginia's arms and the Lodgers start to panic and they lift up his sleeve/shirt to see the wound and immediately realize he either got caught in the trap, or apparently tried to feed his arm to a beartrap... heheeheh... ehehehheheh <3
