I wish everyone collectively understood aventurine’s character like you…things would be so much easier! I genuinely don’t understand how people keep getting his motivations wrong??? Could it be because some of the most popular Aven fanfics were written prior to his release? That could have contributed to some of the takes we tend to see about him…thoughts?
I struggled all day to come up with a concise way to answer this and couldn't think of one, so here, have a long-winded ramble:
I don't think early fic writers have much impact in the situation with Aventurine's character now, since most people can look at when a story was posted and go "Oh, this was before we had ____ information."
I think that Aventurine's problem is being a male character in a gacha game. Gacha game characters are designed to sell. Hoyo can sell female characters very, very easily. Give her huge tits and a visible underwear strap and you're good to go. I love all my guy friends, but I'm not gonna sugarcoat it: straight men are not the hardest audience to please. Hit a particular fetish (feet, spandex, dommy mommy), and you're gucci.
Tumblr media
Nah, we all know why Jade's trailer is Like That.™
Male characters in gacha are harder to sell because women as consumers are a little harder to predict. Does every woman want a tall, ripped hunk? Shit, no, small cute boyish models like Aventurine are selling better now? Why?! Would a bad boy be more popular than a nice guy??? It's harder to account for women's tastes, especially because they are often (a little) less visually-oriented.
Hoyo is good at what they do though, and they've figured out that male characters sell very well when they possess at least one of two specific traits:
Endearing vulnerability/helplessness
Gay ship tease
Give a character both, like Aventurine? They might as well be printing money.
Tumblr media
That sound you hear is Hoyo's stock prices rising.
So, from the very beginning, Hoyo is incentivized to create a character that appeals to people, a character people will want to crack their wallets open for. And they achieved this, first and foremost, by giving Aventurine traits that female players (in particular, but men too), find especially appealing: emotional and physical vulnerability.
We see Aventurine's pain. We sympathize with his grief. We identify with his struggle to make meaning of his difficult life. He's our woobie, blorbo, babygirl, whatever the hell they're calling it now.
He can't hide his suffering anymore. He's on the very edge. He's a dude in distress. He's surrounded by enemies! He misses his mama! He's been betrayed! No one understands him like you do, dear player!
The ultimate feeling evoked is: He needs to be saved.
Tumblr media
When people talk about male power fantasies, I think they forget that women can experience them too, and "Emotionally vulnerable man that only I (or my favorite character) can fix" is actually a female power fantasy.
And from there it's really easy, right: the people who shell out cash to buy warps for their harmed-husbando feel like they've saved him; the people who are into mlm ships look for the nearest hot dude to be the savior Ratio was waiting for his time lol.
Morally and intellectually, this type of deep-down-golden-hearted, emotionally-wounded male character is very easy to digest. There is nothing to dislike about this type of character or role in the story: this character is a good guy who has just gone through so many terrible situations, whose victim status makes him endearing, and whose lack of agency means that any of the questionable or downright bad things he does are always the result of someone else forcing his hand, and never something he would have chosen himself.
His motivations are always clear and consistent: get free, heal, and live happily ever after.
Tumblr media
Insert the Wreck-It Ralph meme: "Do people assume all your problems got solved when a big strong man showed up?" But to be fair, a big strong man did kind of solve Aventurine's problem, so--
Anyway, it's simple. It's straightforward. Morally, it's pretty cut and dry, black and white: Aventurine is our hero, which means everyone dictating the course of his miserable life is evil.
Hoyo is not remotely discouraging people from literally buying into this emotional appeal.
And trust me, I get it. I'll be the first to admit that hurt-comfort is its own entire genre in fandom because it is so appealing. People eat up Aventurine's tragic backstory like candy! The idea of watching a character go through hell at the hands of bad guys just to finally find a happy end is like the definition of everyone's favorite story.
In fact... people love Aventurine's suffering so much, they have invented whole new ways for him to suffer that aren't even in the game.
This is where we get all the headcanons that Aventurine was a sex slave, every single person he meets hates him because of his race, the Stonehearts are executioners holding knives to his throat, Jade enslaved him to the IPC with a lifelong contract, his material possessions belong to the company, the IPC is forcing him to take only the most dangerous missions where he is being required by his evil jailers to continually put his life on the line... You name it and I promise you, I can find a fanfic where Aventurine suffers from it. 😂
Tumblr media
Bro can't even sleep in on his day off; life is so hard for this man.
Being serious: if the game is telling us that Aventurine is a victim... Why not make him the perfect victim?
Why not envision an Aventurine with no freedom, who bears no responsibility for any of the horrible situations he is in or any of the dubious things he does?
It's so natural to like that version of Aventurine, so appealing to see a totally powerless underdog use his own wits and charms to claw his way up to freedom. Or, if you're the kind who really relishes angst: It's even appealing to see Aventurine lose more. To delight in fics where he loses his wealth, where the IPC punishes him for past crimes while he's powerless to stop them... (I assure you, this is many people's cup of tea and the fanfics prove it!)
Ultimately, there's nothing wrong with liking characters who are exactly this straightforward! It's completely fine to embrace characters that are intentionally written to be morally above-board, whose primary role in the story is to generate angst by being a good person who suffers, or those characters who never show unlikable traits, bad decisions, or contradictory actions.
The problem is that that's just not who the game is telling us Aventurine is.
Tumblr media
Hoyo may be capitalizing off people who love to envision poor Aventurine still living his life as a slave... But the game also needs to tell a complicated enough story overall to appeal to people who don't care about this specific husbando--Aventurine's role in the actual game's plot has to be interesting enough for almost everyone to appreciate it, not just Aventurine's simp squad. (Don't get mad, I'm in the simp squad with you.)
So his character doesn't stop at just being a pure-hearted victim who is still waiting to be saved.
Aventurine is not that easy to label, and I think the biggest struggle in this character's fandom right now is between people who prefer the even-more-angsty, still-a-slave Aventurine versus people who want a morally grey, self-destructive character instead.
To me personally, while I greatly understand the appeal of fanon!Aventurine and the joy of a really juicy angst fic where characters lose it all, I think that missing out on the depth that canon is suggesting would be a real loss on the fandom's part.
The character motivations that Aventurine shows in the game are complicated. They cancel each other out. They're basically self-harm! He makes almost every situation he's in worse for himself--on purpose.
He is a good person, but also a person who has done unspeakable things. He does have morals, but he's not above allowing those who don't have them to use him to their advantage.
He's both the victim and the victor. He's his own worst enemy. He's a lost little boy who's been making terrible decisions for himself since he was like eight years old, and a grown ass man who is barely managing to fake his way through an existence that destiny is not letting him quit.
Tumblr media
This kind of character is a lot harder to embrace. He's done things that most people would find appalling--like willingly joining up with the organization that let his entire race be massacred. He's invented a whole new peacock persona to frivolously flaunt riches he doesn't even care about (Poison Dart Frog Self-Defense 101). He actively plays into racist stereotypes about his people to manipulate others through their preconceived expectations. He's made a mockery of his mother's and sister's hopes and dreams by endlessly trying to throw his own life away.
He has flaws! He bet everything he had on a ploy without doing his homework to find out if the people he was risking his life for were even still around. (Maybe he already knew, and couldn't bear to admit it, even to himself.) He's intentionally off-putting and obnoxious to everyone he meets (Poison Dart Frog Self-Defense 102). He terrifies everyone who gets close to him by (seemingly) carelessly throwing himself into the jaws of death without the slightest provocation.
He knowingly allows the IPC to exploit his power and talents for profit. Did everyone forget that his role in the Strategic Investment Department is asset liquidation?! Like, his actual day-to-day job is ruining people's lives. Canonically, Aventurine kills people when his deals go bad.
Tumblr media
His motivations change off-screen in two lines of story text. We're told in one line that his biggest reason for joining the IPC was to make money to save the Avgin, then in the next line we find out that's impossible. And... then what? What motivations does he even have now? The whole point of his character arc from 2.0-2.1 is that he was on the edge of giving in to utter despair and nihilism because he couldn't even perceive a single reason to stay alive. He has no purpose in life before Penacony, and that didn't start with the Stonehearts at all??
People keep saying Aventurine was held in the IPC by golden handcuffs, but how do you tie down someone for whom profit is meaningless? What can you offer to a man whose only desire is to bring back something already lost forever? How do you imprison someone whose only definition of freedom is, canonically, death?
Tumblr media
Working for the Stonehearts is obviously not healthy. But that's why Aventurine was doing it--because taking dangerous missions allowed him to put himself at risk. The job that he originally pursued hoping to save his people became a direct means to self-harm, and the IPC's only real role in that was just happily profiting off the results.
The journal entries for Aventurine's quests are there deliberately to tell the player what is on his mind, and none of it has to do with escaping from his job:
Tumblr media
Like... Work is the least of this man's problems.
At really the risk of rambling on too long now, he's also just a massive walking contradiction:
Aventurine is among the most explicitly religious characters in the game, yet he's one of the only people in the entire game that we have ever seen actively question his people's aeon.
You might be tempted to think Aventurine's risky gambles with his life as an adult are a result of giving up after finding out about the Avgin massacre... Butttt no, Hoyo makes sure to tell us that even at knee-high in the Sigonian desert, Kakavasha was already willing to risk himself in a fight to the death against monsters because even back then he found his own life to have less value than a single memento.
He's the "chosen one" who will lead his people to prosperity... except they're all dead.
He's explicitly suicidal... andddd also a pathstrider of Preservation.
He wants to die... He doesn't want to die. He wants to make it end, yet goes to staggering lengths to continually survive. (Every plan risks his life on purpose--but every plan's win condition is also to live.) He life is the chip tossed down, but his hand is trembling beneath the table. When faced with an otherwise unsurvivable situation, Aventurine literally became a winner of the Hunger Games. He beat other innocent people to death with his own chain-bound hands just to come out alive.
Tumblr media
He knows the IPC failed the Avgin and left them to die... and he still willingly sought out a position of power in their organization. Maybe he really is after revenge... but maybe not.
He starts his journey in the IPC with a truly noble goal in mind: to help his people using his newfound wealth and power. He's a good guy who did genuinely want to save the Avgin and repay all those who helped him. But once it became clear he was too late, once it was obvious he would have no use at all for that monetary wealth and power he risked his life to get... What did he do with it? Unlike Jade, we don't see him over here donating to orphanages. (I'm not that heartless; I'm sure he does actually do a lot of good things with his money on the side, but the point is that the game does not show us that--it shows us, over and over again, Aventurine putting on a wasteful, over-indulgent persona toward wealth. We've supposed to feel how meaningless money is to him, how meaningless everything is becoming to him.)
He outright refuses to use underhanded tactics or to cheat at gambles, which is meant to show us that's he's more morally upright than his coworkers. There's an entire exchange where he says that he'll never stoop to using manipulation the way Opal does. But... he doesn't have any issue fulfilling Opal's exact agenda. He was never remotely morally conflicted about denying the Penaconians their freedom by dragging Penacony back under IPC control.
Tumblr media
He's willing to risk his own life, which is one thing--but he's also willing to risk other people's well-being. Topaz accuses him of constantly egging their clients on into dangerous situations; we've actively seen him shove a gun into Ratio's hands and pull the trigger with no care for how Ratio would feel about that on their very first meeting... Dragging the Astral Express crew into the entire Penacony plan in the first place was exceedingly dangerous...
To me, I just think it's vital to understand his character through the lens of these contradictions because they demonstrate the extreme polarity of Aventurine's life: from rags to riches, from powerless to empowered by multiple aeons, from willing to kill to survive to killing himself... He has quite literally lived a life of "all or nothing," and while he is the victim of many terrible situations out of his control, his arc as a character involves facing the truth of himself and the future his own actions are hurtling him toward.
Tumblr media
Frankly, the Aventurine that canon is suggesting is a little annoying. You want to grab him by the shoulders, shake him, and say "Why are you like this?!" And he won't even have an answer for you, because he doesn't even know why he's still alive.
In the end, to me, this is so, so much more interesting. I can read an endless supply of hurt-comfort fics where Aventurine escapes the evil IPC and Ratio is there to fill the void in his life with the power of love and catcakes and be a perfectly happy clam online, but I want canon to continue to serve us this incredible mess of a man who constantly takes one step forward and two steps back.
Who is fully aware of his role as a cog in the grotesque profit-wheel of cosmic capitalism and still manages to say he never changed from the rags-wearing desert rat of the Sigonian wastes.
Who over and over again flirts with nihility but, ultimately, even if he has to wrest it from the grip of the gods themselves with bloody, chain-bound hands, chooses life.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Richie signed as the bell above the door rang, it had been a night filled with drunk men and their hookers all night long.
As he walked out to the front he froze at the sight of a girl, giggling to herself as she scrolled through her phone before walking up to the counter. “Hi mikey, wait you’re not mikey?” She slurred as she looked at richie.
“Nope, he’s out for the night, what can i get you though sweetheart?” The girl looked up at the menu and pouted her lips.
Richie smiled as he noticed her smudged lipstick and gloss.
“I’ll have, um..” She froze as her gaze felt unfocused as she tried to read the board. “I’ll get whatever, you choose for me!” She grinned at the forty year old.
Richie signed and nodded to himself. “Got it, just uh go sit before i come back to find you passed out on the floor.”
The girl saluted before stumbling to a barstool and patiently waited for her food.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
The smell of bell peppers made the girl lift her head from the sticky table, she smiled at richie as he placed her food in front of her, it was a cheesesteak.
”It smells soo good!” She squealed, clapping her hands and dancing in her seat a bit. Richie scoffed, amused at the girl.
“Wanna join me?” Her question caught richie off guard, he glances down at the girl as she held up half of the sandwich towards him.
“I couldn’t, i gotta handle the front.” Richie declined.
The girl gave richie a look before looking around the empty restaurant, “yeah ok, since it’s suuupper busy..” She giggled, earning a playful eye roll from richie who sighed before sitting down next to you.
As they pair sat in silence, richie sighed as his phone lit up with a text from tiff saying she was keeping eva for his weekend due to ballet practice. “So what’s your name?” the girl questioned, taking a bite of her sandwich before looking up at richie who picked at the small side of fries.
“Richie..” He smiled as the girl nodded at his name. “How is it spelt? Like ritchie valens or richie rich?” She questioned, swapping richie for the fries.
Richie chuckled before taking a bite, “richie rich, i guess?” He shrugged and watched as you quietly hummed to yourself as you ate. “How ‘bout you?”
She tiled her head to the side. “How about me, what?” she questioned.
As richie re-asked the question her eyes started to droop.
“Y’know you have pretty eyes..” The girl tiredly pointed her manicured nails towards richie, she slowly slid the sandwich towards richie and fell asleep, her forehead on the cold, but sticky tabletop.
Richie chuckled softly and started to clean up around you.
After bit he had noticed your phone started to ring, he sighed as there was no sign of you waking up to answer.
Picking up the phone, he was greeted to questions. “WHERE ARE YOU!” a voice yelled.
Richie pulled the phone away from his ear. “Yeah, uh your friend fell asleep here at the beef and if there’s a way for you to come pick her up-!” RIchie was cut off by a frustrated groan.
“Fuck, daddy’s gonna lose it if he find out she’s not with us!” The voice sighed before asking for the street name.
A few minutes had passed and a white car had pulled up outside of the diner, he was in the back for the most of them carrying their friend to the car but by the time he walked back to the front, he noticed as the car doors slammed shut before taking off.
He sighed as he looked around the restaurant and froze at the sight of a pink prada bag on the countertop, hidden by a mountain of napkins. “Shit..” He cursed as he picked up the bag and looked for an piece of identification.
He quietly hummed to himself as he pulled out a gucci wallet, “who’s sugar baby got lost?” he questioned to himself as he flipped it open to find tons of cards and cash, a purse snatcher would be in heaven by the amount left carelessly in your bag.
As richie went to give up in his search, he froze at the sight of a pair of sunglasses in a satin bag with your initials embroidered.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
You sighed as you walked into the beef, it had been your sister’s bachelorette the night before, somehow you had slipped away from the group and into your favorite diner.
“Hi mikey..” You greeted the shaggy haired owner, who watched you walk in, clearly enjoying you fighting a hangover.
“You look like shit.” He grinned at you.
“I feel like it..hey did i happen to leave-” before you could finish your words, mikey held up your bag with a smirk. “Oh this?” He teased.
“Don’t be a dick, give it..” You held your hand out for it, he sighed and handed it over to you. “Could i also get something to go please?” You smiled at mikey.
“I don't know, you did tell my employee he had pretty eyes last night..” HIs words made you widen your eye at him, slowly shaking your head. “No i didn’t…did I?” You questioned yourself quietly.
As you sat down questioning yourself, mikey had placed your typical order and walked to the office.
A basket of fries made you brake away from your thoughts. You glanced up at the employee and immediately got flustered, it was the guy from the previous night.
“Um, hi?” You offered a small smile, earning a chuckle from him. “Hi, here’s your order to-go.” He handed you the bag. You shifted your eyes from the to-go box to his blue eyes.
“You’re richie, right?” You questioned, trying to rack your brain for his name. “Uh, yeah.” He scratched his scruff. “I’m sorry if i made you uncomfortable with my comments..” You apologized, fiddling with your bag.
“With comments like that, i’d hope to see you in here more often now!” He smiled at you.
You grabbed the to-go box and nodded and let out a chuckle. “Will do, richie!” You smiled and waved as you exited the shop.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
As the weeks went on, you and richie had grown close, you had often stopped by the beef to greet him and the others, you often hung out around the shop till closing with richie and spent hours talking ot one another, it had gotten to the point where you gave him your number to spent more hours of the day talking.
You smiled as you sat at the counter of the beef and watched as richie cleaned the tabletops.
“No shot, your favorite artist is taylor swift!” You smiled as he sighed and continued to wipe down the counters. “I have a mini swiftie, after a while t-swift grows on you.” He smiled.
You laughed, “favorite song then?” you asked as you sipped from your cup. “Probably, cardigan..” He paused and took a second to think about his answer before he glanced at you and placed the cloth over his shoulder.
“Yours?”
You pouted out your lip, thinking over all her songs, “love story.” You smiled as richie smile grew.
“What? I like the classics..” You both chuckled, richie focused on getting a sticky spot on the counter, not noticing you grabbing his phone which was connected to the shop’s music.
“You’ll be prince, and i’ll be the princess!” You sang out loud, your arm extended towards richie who turned his head to watch.
He laughed, amused by your little show, thankfully he had set out the close sign early so no customers would try to ruin the moment.
“It’s a love story, baby just say yes!” He continued while laughing to himself, silently admiring your bright smile.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
“Eva!”
“Lovie!” The little blonde squealed as richie unbuckled her from her carseat.
“What are you doing here?” She questioned as you walked up to her, a small bouquet of tulips in your hand. “I’m here to watch a very talented ballerina.” You grinned.
You knelt down to her height and handed her the flowers. She squealed and held them to her chest.
“What do you say to lovie, eva?” Richie questioned, watching your interaction with a grin on his face.
“Thank you!” She gave you a small side hug before walking to the doors to the theater, her ballet bag being carried by richie.
“Is tiff and frank here already?” You questioned as you noticed all the moms, fixing their children’s hair.
“Tiff hasn’t said, i’ll go give her a call, could you-!”
“I’ll go watch eva.” You cut richie off, giving him a reassuring smile, taking eva’s bag from him.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
Eva had gotten antsy, as more kids would pass her, hair done and ready to perform.
Tiff had told richie her and frank had gotten a flat tire and wouldn't be able to make it to her recital.
Richie sighed as he brushed eva’s hair into a lumpy bun. “It has to be smooth!” Eva sighed, frustrated.
You quickly placed down your bag and eva’s bag next to richie and motioned for the brush and hair tie.
“I can do your hair, since somebody..can’t..” You told eva, side glancing towards richie was sat beside you both on a chair, looking defeated. Eva giggled.
You managed to get her hair into a neat bun, eva sighed as she noticed her tiny baby hairs sticking up in the front of her forehead.
“Wipsy’s again!” She whispered, annoyed with her hair.
“I have those too, here richie could you hand me my purse?” You turned to your boyfriend who jumped and quickly handed you the bag.
You smiled to yourself as eva held your purse in her lap, watching as you dug through your bag before pulling out a tube of hair slick gel. “Always prepared, huh?” Richie smiled as you gently held eva’s chin and slicked the hair’s down.
“Want a little chapstick?” You questioned the little blonde who nodded and pouted her lips, you quickly grabbed your small tin of chapstick and added a bit to her lips, you quickly handed her the tin, she quickly placed it in the bag and turned to the side to look at herself.
“So cute!” You smiled as you watched her smile and bat her eyelashes at herself in the mirror.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
You sighed as you tried to closed the mansion quietly, as the weeks past, you and richie had gone hours on the phone with each other, spending most weekdays with one another, doing basic tasks.
As you quietly tip toped to the stairs to finally got to bed a light turned on from the living room, making you freeze at the sight.
“Tsk, tsk, sneaking out like a teen again?” Your father’s gruff voice spoke up.
You sighed and placed your purse on the stairs before walking over to your father, where he sat in his chair, shuffling a deck of player cards he kept on the coffee table.
“No, i was just trying to not disturb anyone’s sleep with the door slamming.” You sat down across from hi, on the coffee table.
“You’ve been out very late, this past few months, is there something i should know about?” He raised an eyebrow at you.
“And now that i’m looking at you, whose jacket is that?” He questioned, the look of distaste clear on his face
Your breath hitched, as you went to open your mouth, a light turned on in the front hall, making you and your father turn to the source.
There stood, your mom, she had a tired look on her face. “Will you too go to bed?” She huffed, crossing her arms over her chest.
“In a moment, answer me young lady..” Your father pressed.
“NOW!” Your mom hissed at your father, who sighed and got up from his chair and placed the cards beside you.
“This talk isn’t over yet.” You nodded as he wished you goodnight before walking up the stairs.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
The next morning you sighed as you drove your sister to pick up her veil from the bridal store.
“What’s got you so down?” She frowned.
“Nothing..” You brushed her off, huffing as you waited for the light to turn green. “I know you better then that, what’s the matter?” She pressed, turning to face you.
“Nothing’s the matter..” You tried to brush the topic off.
“Does it have to do with dad last night?” Your sister, questioned, making you turn to her.
“Did everyone hear our conversation last night?” You groaned, continuing to the bridal shop.
“So who’s the lucky person?” Your sister grinned as you shook your head, a small smile growing on your face.
“Do you remember when I wandered away from you guys during your bachelorette party?” You asked, occasionally glancing over to your sister.
“Yeah, we were laughing cause you were knocked out by the time we got there.” She giggled at the memory.
“Well, I guess i had drunkenly started to flirt with one of the night workers and i may have been constantly went back and possibly at one point he became my boyfriend.” You sighed, your sister sat in the passenger seat with a grin.
“What’s his name?” She teased.
“Richie, richie jerimovich.” You said with a smile at the thought of your boyfriend.
“Older dude?” She questioned, picking at her nails, her smile still obvious.
“He’s in his 40s, so a bit older then me..” You confessed.
“Well, after we pick up my wedding errand, how about I go and meet this richie guy?” She proposed.
“Sure, he starts at 2 and by the time I find room in the trunk for your things and we drive over, he should be working.”
Your sister squealed, excited for you.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
You glanced at your sister who nodded to herself as she took in the area, you quickly parked the car on the street and got out.
“You’re just gonna leave the car parked here?” Your sister questioned, noticing a group of men not too far from the shop, looking at you both.
“It’s fine.” You brushed her off and looked back at the group and walked closer to the curb. “Crooked john, will you watch my car for me please.” You hollered out to the man, he nodded at you.
“See it’s fine.” You smiled and walked into the beef.
“Welcome ladies, what can i get you started with today?” Richie smirked as you and your sister walked into the shop.
“Hello..” Your sister squeaked out, looking around the building.
“Hi richie, can we get two cheesesteaks please?” You batted your eyelashes at him, making him smile and lean a bit over the counter to kiss your cheek. “Alright take a seat, sweetheart.”
You smiled and motioned for a booth for your sister to sit down in.
While waiting you and your sister went over her wedding plans, her day had been arriving very quickly.
“Alright, two cheesesteak sandwiches.” Richie smiled as he placed them onto the table, your sister perked up and and hummed in delight at the smell of the food.
“Hey, sweetheart,”
You glanced up at richie who looked at you up and down. “Yes?”
“I thought you didn’t know where my jacket went..hmm?”
You felt red, he had caught you red-handed.
“I possibly found it in the back seat..”
He shook his head and kissed the top of your head.
“So richie, I trust you already know not to hurt my sister, correct?” Your sister questioned, swallowing her fry before turning to richie with a straight face.
“Would never dream about it.” Richie gave her a reassuring smile.
“Good.” She smiled before eating her food.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
“Do I look alright?” Richie asked you as he watched you fill in your eyeliner.
“You look fine, stop messing with your tie!” You scolded, turing to look at richie, who raised his hands up in surrender.
After richie and your sister’s meeting, she had invited richie to her wedding rehearsal, you both thought it was finally time to introduce richie to your parents and other family members.
“I’m just freaking out, a gorgeous girl with a sad bastard?” He snorted as he walked into his bedroom and picked your bag up from the end of his bed to sit down.
“You mean a gorgeous girl with her fantastic boyfriend?” You smiled as you walked closer to him, slotting yourself between his legs.
“Tonight will be fine, it’s a step in the next direction!” You smiled down at him, softly holding his chin in your palms.
Richie just smiled and places a kiss on your palm.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
Richie gave you a small smile as you squeezed his hand as you both walked into the venue, in the middle of the room, stood your sister and her fiance.
Your sister perked up and waved you both over.
“C’mon..” You gently tugged richie over to your sister and said your greetings to her.
“Mom and dad are outside.” Your sister whispered to you and richie as she hugged your both.
You nodded and took a deep breath before looking at richie, who’s grip had gotten a bit tighter.
Richie sighed and squeezed your hand twice before walking over to your parents.
“Mom, dad, i’d like to introduce to you guys my boyfriend.” You announced, making your mom smiling at richie.
“So this is the one that’s been making my daughter so smiley?” She teased before hugging richie and hugged her back.
You smiled at the pair and glanced back to your dad and felt your smile drop, his face was upset, he eyed richie up and down.
“Dad, this is richie jerimovich..” You guided richie toward’s your dad.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you sir.” Richie held his hand out.
Your father just watched richie for a moment before turning to you.
“We will be having a word after your sister’s rehearsal.” He said sharply, walking back into the venue without turning back.
Your mother sighed as she watched him, she turned to you and richie and reassuringly rubbed your arms.
“He’ll come around, he’s not always a grump.” She smiled before following after your dad into the venue.

The rehearsal had a tint of tension in the air as you got in place for the vows.
Richie’s leg hadn’t stopped bouncing as he watched you elegantly walk down the isle before your sister and father.
As the rest of the guests chatted inside, your father had taken richie outside and forced you to stay inside with your mother and sister.
“I’m not an idiot you know..” Your father sighed as he looked at richie.
“Excuse me?” Richie questioned, raising an eyebrow.
“I know what you want with my daughter, and i’m not gonna let you hurt her.” Your father argued.
“I don’t know what your talking about sir, i love your daughter, truely.” Richie defended himself. “Bullshit, you’re not the first asshole to try this whole nice guy act with her!”
RIchie scoffed and rubbed his stubble, trying to contain himself.
“You don’t know what you’re talking about sir..” Richie sighed.
“Yeah right, that’s why your only see your daughter on certain weekends,” Your father scoffed.
“Just face it, you and her are from two very different lives, you don’t deserve to have her.”
Richie let his words sink in, without a second thought richie scoffed and raised an eyebrow. “You can talk shit about me all you want but you don’t know your family, do you? I may only see eva evry other weekend but hell, at least i know my kid’s favorite things!” RIchie argued back.
“I forbid you to speak or lay eyes on my daughter!” Your father yelled before walking back into the venue, you watched with wide eyes as you could see your dad and richie going back and fourth.
You quickly excused yourself and went to go outside but your father quickly dragged you away from the doors, you swatted his hand away from you.
“I have to go talk to richie, let me go dad!” You groaned.
“I’ve had enough of this ridiculous non sense “relationship” you have!” Your father yelled, making you scoff at his words.
“What? Gonna forbid me from seeing him?” You mockingly asked, your father only raised and eyebrow and nodded.
You froze and stared at him, in shock. “You can’t be serious…i’m an adult!” You grumbled out.
“DO you wish to see your sister walk down that aisle? To meet your future nieces and nephews?” He questioned, seemingly mocking you.
Your eyes began to water, scoffing at him while trying to wipe your tears.
“This is bullshit..” You muttered as you walked away from him and walked outside and look around for richie but didn’t see him anywhere, your phone buzzed from your palm, you tearfully unlocked it and sighed as a text from richie popped up.
R ♡ - i hate myself for this but i’m breaking up with you.
You sobbed at the text, your excitement for the night has washed away and was now replaced with grief of the loss of your relationship.

“You what!” Tina yelled at richie as he told everyone you’d no longer be visiting the beef on special visits for him.
“I had to T, her dad was right, her and I aren’t meant to be..” Richie sighed, mikey scoffed at his best friend.
“You’re an idiot!” Mikey declared, leaning next to marcus who shook his head at richie.
“It had to be done ok, or else I wouldn't have been able to give her the life she deserves.” Richie sighed, tired of everyone pointing out his dumb mistake of leaving you.
“How do you know she wants a life like she’s used to?” Tina questioned, making Richie look at her curiously.
“Did she hate going to see Eva perform? Did she hate coming here to bring you stuff you forgot? Did she-!” Tina was cut off by Richie realizing you always wore a big smile doing simple domestic things with him, going to the auto shop, buying groceries, watching movies while binging on dollar candy.
“I fucked up!” Richie groaned, searching for his keys.
Mikey chuckled as richie rushed past the doors and out to his car, everyone gathered around the back door and watched as richie manically peeled out of the parking lot.
“Think he remembers it’s her sister’s wedding today?” Tina questioned, making mikey and marcus laugh.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
You smiled as your sister and her new husband walked down the aisle together.
You and the best man walked behind them and out into the hallway, you watched and greeted some guests as they exited the wedding hall and waited outside to see the bride and groom off to the reception.
Your father quietly walked past you, whatever phone call must've been important by the way he separated from everyone, you sighed, it had been weeks since your breakup with richie, your father had hardly spoke to you since.
“He’ll come around honey..” Your mother tried to soothe you, rubbing you back gently and guided you to see your sister off.
You smiled as you were handed a small can of bubbles to blow over the couple as they walked to their car.
The wedding had filled most of your time, it was a nice distraction from the pain, the wedding would’ve been better if richie was by you the whole time.
As you all watched your sister happily wave to everyone as they drove off, a warm hand on your shoulder made you turn to see your father with a sad smile on his face.
“Father?” You questioned, he sighed and motioned for you to step away from the crowd.
“I haven't been the best father as you've gotten older, i still act as if you are this little girl who has to respect me and do as I say,” Your father sighed out.
You tilted your head, confused.
“And with your sister being engaged and you showing up with a boyfriend, i felt old, my little girls were growing up, i was just- no I still am terrified of either of you getting used by someone who doesn't care.” He teared up at bit, you half smiled at him.
“Mr jermovich opened my eyes for me, i hardly knew you or your sister beside what you liked as kids, you’re a grown woman now, and if he’s what makes you happy, i’ll just to pray he doesn’t end up in a back alley.” He joked, making you snicker before hugging him.
“What if it’s late for him to take me back?” you stressed.
Your father chuckled and rubbed your back in comfort, “He’s smitten with you, you’ll find a way.”
You smiled at him and hugged him once more before he tore himself away and walked outside to join your mom in the car and drove off the reception.
With a little bit of acceptance you smiled and walked to your car and unlocked the door when a honk came from behind you.
“Yo, sweetheart!” A raspy voice called out
You rolled your eyes and ignored it. “I get i fucked up, but you don’t gotta ignore me!” A familiar voice shouted.
Quickly whipping around to face the car, a grin grew on your face, richie with his head out his window, still in his work shirt. You quickly ran over to the car. “What are you doing here?” You laughed as he smiled up at you.
“Had to make sure a pretentious asshole didn’t try to swoop in.” He grinned.
As you looked at richie it all clicked together, the phone call your dad was on, the reassurance that richie was smitten with you…”You called my dad?” You giggled.
“Took a lot to get your family’s help to spit it out but we got there!” He sighed.
“I love you.” You confessed, making richie laugh and pull you into a deep kiss.
“Love you.” He muttered against your lips. You pulled away snickering “you pulled a sixteen candles!” motioning towards your bridesmaid dress, and his casual wear.
“Just get in the car..” He laughed.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
“What song you excited for E?” You asked the little girl as you, tiffany, frank, eva and richie sat together, waiting for taylor to come out and perform.
“Love story!” Eva squealed, clapping making tiff and richie smirk at her.
“Me too!” You laughed as the little girl, swung her legs and looked around the stadium.
You leaned back into richie and smile at him. “I think our song is love story, we relate to the lyrics a lot.” You joked making richie chuckle before kissing your cheek.
“We’ve come along away from your dad trying to keep you away from me..” He muttered to himself, the weight of the velvet box in his pocket, feeling heavier than before.
As the show went on, you all had stood up along with other people in your section as love story played.
“Romeo, save me, I've been feeling so alone, I keep waiting for you, but you never come
Is this in my head, i don’t know what to think!” You sang along with eva, not noticing frank and tiff pulling out their phone’s.
Richie looked at the stage and pulled the ring out and turned to you as you sang, eva tugged on your arm and pointed behind you towards richie.
You turned to see richie on one knee as the lyrics to love story lined up.
He knelt to the ground and pulled out a ring and said, marry me juliet, you’ll never have to be alone, i love you and that’s all i really know…
You gasped at the sight, everyone in your section screamed at the proposal and cheered as you nodded at richie, who quickly got up and pulled you into a kiss, eva cheered along with tiffany who finished recording you both.
“I talked to your dad, go pick out a white dress, it’s a love story baby just say yes!” You and richie sang and you cradled the new ring on your hand.

Not Your Usual Love Story
Part 1 Warnings: Stalking
With a groan Y/n steps out of her apartment. She was already late for work and also had yet to eat. Making her way towards her car she climbs in and starts it before quickly driving out of the apartment parking lot and towards the mall she worked at.
Parking in the mall parking lot she hurried into the outlet mall and straight to the Gucci store. She walked in through the back and was immediately met with one of her co-workers who looked over and smirked. "Rough night?"
She shakes her head and hangs her coat up on the rack before checking her appearance in the mirror "You have no idea..."
"I'm guessing the date went bad?"
When she nods to her co-worker the woman nods and giggles before walking off when the manager calls for her. Y/n sighs before turning around and heading towards the cash register.
A few hours passed by and nothing unusual happened, same old customers and a few teenage kids who came in to just look around. Nothing out of the ordinary.
Her attention is brought to the door when it opens and three men walk in, two in all black with sunglasses and the one in the middle in a tux that was clearly expensive. She looked around to see if anyone was going to help him and when she realized she was the only one around she sighed and took a deep breath before walking from around the counter and making her way over to the trio of men.
"Hi Sir, my name is Emma. Is there anything I can help you find?" She asks softly as the man in the tux turns to look at her. When his eyes land on her he stays silent as he looks her up and down before smirking
"Hi doll...I don;'t need help but I sure wouldn't mind your company"
His words made her blush but she takes a deep breath and shakes her head "If you find yourself needing help sir come find me, I'll be at the register."
She didn't give him time to reply as she turned on her heel and made her way over to the register again, taking a seat on the stool and pulling her phone from her pocket.
Some time passed and suddenly a shadow was looming over her. She looked up before quickly putting her phone to the side and standing up. "Did you find everything you were looking for sir?" she asks politely
The man from earlier smirks charmingly before leaning against the counter "Actually doll, I need your help."
She nods before making her way around the counter "Of course, what can I help with?
He looks her up and down with a smirk before clearing his throat and taking a deep breath "What is your favorite thing in here, I need to buy someone something..."
"oh- well what does the person-"
He cuts her off with a chuckle as his hand rubs his beard "Doll, what is your favorite thing in here?"
She takes a deep breath before slowly looking around, after spotting one of the bags she had wanted for awhile she points it out and he nods before grabbing it and placing it on the counter. She makes her way back around the counter and turns the register on. "Will this be it...?"
He nods and pulls a black credit card from his wallet before sliding it across the counter. After bagging the bag up she places it into the box and wraps the bow around it before sliding the box into a bag and then sliding the bag across the counter. She picks the card up from the counter and slides it before handing it back and smiling softly over at him. "Thank you sir, have a nice day."
He nods as he grabs the bag and then places his credit card back into his wallet. As he looks back over at her she notices his piercing blue eyes... "I'll be seeing you doll.." With that he turns around and walks out, the two other men following behind him as they leave the store.
Once the door closes and Bucky is in the car he puts the phone to his ear and makes a quick call "Y/n. She works at Gucci. Get me every detail you can about her. She's mine."
--A Week Later--
She groaned at the knock on her door. Standing from her couch she walks over and opens the door "Can I help-.." Her eyes widen slightly when no one was on the other side of the door but a Gucci bag was, she leans down and picks it up before looking around. The only thing that was out of the normal was the black SUV parked on the curb near her apartment building but she shakes her head and steps into her apartment again, locking the door behind her.
Taking a seat on the couch she slowly opens the bag and slowly pulls out the box, immediately she notices her style of bow and her stomach sinks a little. Unwrapping the bow she throws it to the side and opens the box, a gasp slipping out of her mouth when she sees the bag she had rung up and sold to someone placed neatly in the box with a note attached. Her hands gently grab the note as she reads it slowly
"Doll, I couldn't get your beautiful face out of my head. It stopped me in my tracks, here's just a little gift to show my admiration. See you soon, Bucky."

Pairing: Bucky x Reader
Summary: Reader finds herself crushing on her sister’s ex boyfriend after they run in to each other years after the break up.
Word Count: 4,670
Warnings: 18+, smut, no condoms, dirty talk
Taglist: @jbbarnes-dog-tags
‘And substitute regular milk for oat milk please.’
You type a quick ‘okay’ to your sister as you head to the coffee shop that you frequent almost every day. Today’s weather is sort of gloomy but nice. Lately it’s been rainy, mild showers and light thunderstorms. Your favorite kind of weather to have a latte while accompanied with a book. You scrub the bottom of your shoes against the coffee’s welcome mat to prevent tracking in mud or leaves.
“Good morning, welcome to Aristocrats!” You thank the familiar barista as you head to the counter pulling out your phone to order both drinks.
“What can I get you?” The barista asks with a smile on their face.
“Can I get a hot vanilla latte with 2 shots of espresso and oatmilk?” The employee mumbles the order back as they input it into the system as you continue.
“I also would like an iced chai latte with 3 pumps of brown sugar syrup instead of vanilla. As well as one shot of espresso, thank you.” You put your phone away as you get your wallet out from your bag.
“$15.28, cash or card?” The barista asks as you hand them your card to swipe.
You find a few dollar bills stashed in your bag as you drop it into the tip jar.
“Thank you, just give us a few minutes.” Handing you the card back you put it back into its usual spot as you crumble the receipt into the bag.
One of the reasons why you love this coffee shop isn’t just for the drinks but the book collection they have along with the scenery. It’s located downtown with windows that face the street that pour in natural light. The owner kept most of its natural architecture. Which included the layout, windows that surround the building on two walls, as well as the little fireplace that runs on cold days.
As you wait for the drinks you browse a few magazines near a table before you find one that peaks your interest. You situate yourself near a bar in front of the front facing windows to take advantage of the light that projects in. You flip through the first couple pages not caring for the luxurious ads of Gucci or Louis Vuitton. You never understood why anyone would spend thousands on a bag. You ignore the bell above the door that signals a customer as you continue reading about a woman’s divorce and her advice. While you have never been married it’s interesting to read about people’s lives.
“Here you go, hot vanilla latte and an iced chai.” The barista sets the drinks down as you reply with a thank you.
You look towards the counter as you spot a man ordering. Something along the lines of an americano. Typical. Men never go for good drinks. Reaching for your drink you realize you forgot a straw. Getting up you head to the side of the counter to grab one. As you begin to reach for one another, one hand is trying to grab a cocktail straw for their drink. You quickly retreat your hand back apologizing.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t see you there.” You say, embarrassed as if you were in his space.
“No troubles, you’re fine.” You turn to him finally getting a good look at him as he does the same.
“Oh shit, hey kid. How’ve you been?” It’s Bucky, your sister's ex-boyfriend. His eyes light up as he smiles at you. Like he’s excited to see you.
“I’ve been good. I finished up my last semester early. In December I graduated well. I didn't walk but I received the diploma which is just as good.” He crosses his arms as he listens to you furrowing his eyebrows that he always used to when listening intently.
He smiles as he lightly pats your upper arm in congratulations, “Hey that's great, really, you find any jobs or anything yet?”
“No, I mean I have but the pay is so shit that it’s not even worth it.” He nods understanding the job market has plummeted.
“I get that, if I hadn’t secured the job I have now a few years ago I probably would be back in school not knowing what to do.” Bucky came from an affluent family. His family always had money due to businesses, properties, and of course trusts and estates. His comment comes off a little tone deaf but you know he means well just trying to relate.
“Thanks,” he says as he grabs the drink from the barista as he begins adding a little packet of heavy cream.
“You stay around here? Or often?” He questions out of curiosity but also a small part of him hopes you say yes.
“Oh yeah. I moved back in with my parents after college. I mean- I don’t have a job so I really had no choice.” You hope you don’t sound like a complete fool of yourself. No job, living with parents, and your daily activities consist of getting coffee and reading.
“You’re still figuring it out, there’s no time limit.” His words comfort you, making you feel less alone. Even if he can’t exactly relate, it’s still nice to have someone understand your struggles.
Bucky continues to ask, “If you got a few minutes, you mind if we sit and catch up?” You smile and nod, letting out a small yes as you lead him to your little nook.
You're laughing at some story he’s telling from a recent event he went to where a kid found drawing on the walls of an art exhibit.
“Oh no, did the parents do anything?” You ask taking a sip of your mostly watered down chai.
“God no, remember these people think that their kids can do no wrong. Instead the dad threw him over his shoulder as they left quickly.” His answer made you shake your head wondering how parents never discipline their children.
“What have you been up to? Last thing I heard you were supposed to be taking over the family business.” The family business was just that- business. It was just managing properties, selling, and trading. But it brought in so much revenue. It’s the most popular realtor company in the state along with locations in neighboring states. It was started in the 40’s by Bucky’s great great grandfather and has now succeeded multiple generations.
“I have, well not entirely. I told my dad that I wanted to travel some first before settling with the job. Once you’re in that position all you can do is live for work, live to work. It just seems exhausting.” He sighs as he runs his hand through his short hair.
“You know I have a degree in Architecture, and I want to put that to use but my dad keeps pressuring me to take over the business. The money is good-
You cut him off,“But is it worth it? Money is great but if you aren’t happy with your job or what you do, no amount of money can compare to your happiness.”
“Yes, exactly. I’ve been sort of going back and forth on it but maybe I just need to go with what I want rather than what someone else wants.” Saying the quiet part outloud made Bucky realize that he wants to do what makes him happy regardless of money or fortune.
“You know you’re pretty insightful for your age. I wish I was like that when I was in my early 20s. But you seem so grounded. That’s very admirable Y/N.” The compliment causes your heart to skip a beat. You usually don’t get too many compliments, especially not on your mental or emotional intelligence.
“Thank you, it’s probably the books and because I’m the youngest child.” Your sister and you have a 10 year age gap that didn’t really help form a sibling relationship until you entered high school.
You weren’t planned which resulted in a little bit (a lot) of negligence from your parents. They had albums of pictures of her, always went to her events, and constantly doted on her. You were the youngest and the last. You were often thought of last. If you wanted them to make it to your events, school lunches, or any activity they'd send your grandparents. Which you became very close with at a young age because they noticed the difference between you and your sister. They never made you feel like a burden or second thoughts. You’ll always be grateful for that. Your parents apologized to you when you were older but the childhood trauma still stuck.
“I forgot you guys did have an age gap. I guess it’s more noticeable when you were younger.” His comment glides over, not caring to bring up your sister, his ex-girlfriend. Which you’re kind of happy about since he asked to catch up with you and he genuinely meant it.
Before he can get another word in your phone lights up, your sister is calling.
“You need to get that?” Bucky asks, noticing the screen.
“Yeah probably.” You sigh internally knowing that the coffee catch up is ending soon.
You swipe on the screen as you hold up a finger to give you a second.
“Where are you? It’s been an hour, I thought you said you were just getting coffee, not running errands.” Her voice is a little upset and can be heard by Bucky which makes you cringe a little.
“I’m sorry, I ran into someone and wanted to catch up.” Yeah her ex who you seem to be getting along with a little too well.
“It’s fine. I just didn’t know where my coffee was. Or you.” The last part was thrown in quickly to save herself. You know she doesn’t mean to be rude but that’s just how she can be.
“I’ll be home soon, sorry for taking so long. I didn’t realize how long I was out.” You really didn’t mean to take so long but the conversation lasted longer than expected.
The phone beep indicates a hang up as her reply.
“I’m sorry, I guess I got to go. But it was really nice seeing you again.” You stand up to gather your belongings.
“I really enjoyed it. I had a nice time, I really needed it.” Bucky meant what he said. It had been a while since he had a genuine conversation that wasn’t about work or mundane questions.
“Maybe we can catch up again, I mean I obviously don’t work so I’m always free.” You're hopeful that he’ll agree instead of it just being a one time occurrence.
“You have my number still? Or can I get yours?” You shake your head not remembering if your phone transferred his contact from the last time you updated it.
He grabs his phone to unlock it and lets you type in your number. Once you save your contact you head towards the door,“I got to run, but like I said just message me whenever you’re free. I can always make time.” I can always make time for you is what you wanted to say but bit your tongue instead.
“For sure, I’ll text you soon.” He promises as he watches you walk out of the small coffee shop knowing he’s already forming a liking to you.
It’s been a few months since you ran into Bucky at the coffee shop. Since that day you guys had been messaging non stop. Which quickly turned into late night phone calls that made your stomach hurt from laughing and cheeks sore from smiling. You only get together once a week since he’s still helping his dad and it took up most of his day. But he never fails to call or message you throughout the day to let you know what he’s up to. You’ve learned a lot from each other these past few months. He loves classic cars, museums, and fashion. He doesn’t care much for the bars but will go when his friends plan to. He designs a lot and is great at drawing too. He enjoys taking you out to museums, botanicals, and lately since the weather is better he’s taken you on hike trails. In return you’ve introduced him to books you enjoy and have started listening to audiobooks together. You’ve also found out how to make your own coffee. Bucky has an espresso machine in his condo that he never used. But together you guys figured out how to make your favorite drinks. Though you still go to the same coffee shop for convenience. It’s been a week since you’ve hung out and you expect a hangout session is due.
It’s morning when you get an unexpected call from Bucky. You answer without hesitation excited to hear his voice.
“Hey, what’s up?” You ask as you sit on your bed anticipating his message.
“What are you doing?” He sounds like he has a smile on his face, which you picked up quickly through the phone calls how his voice and facial expressions match.
“Nothing, just at home.” You look over at the clock next to you flashing 9:52 a.m.
“Would you be opposed to packing a bag and going to the next state over?” At first you thought he was joking until he said “you there?”
“No, I mean yes that sounds fun.I’d love to tag along” You say quickly gathering yourself.
“Perfect. I can be there in an hour. Just got to drop off a few things for my dad and I’ll be on the way. You won’t need much, just a few things to last a night or so. Oh and pack a nice dress, I want to take you on a date.” Your heart flutters at the word date, he hadn’t used that word yet, neither have you. It was sort of a weird territory but this solidified there is more.
“Sounds good, I’ll see you then!” You hang up letting the phone fall on the bed as you rush to get ready and pack looking forward to the night.
You arrived around a little after 3 in the next state. But since you couldn’t check in until 4 o’clock Bucky showed you a few places around the city. You ventured into antique shops, locally owned book shops, and of course you had to try a coffee shop. He offered to buy you whatever you wanted and insisted that you had to pick out at least one thing that he could buy you or else you couldn’t leave the store. You opted for a few books (it was five in total of hardcover books you could never find near you and were too expensive to order online). He seemed pleased to be funding your reading addiction.
You check your phone’s time making sure you’re not late getting ready. Bucky said to be ready by 6:45 and you’re cutting it close at 6:30 trying to finish a few makeup touch ups.  And you haven’t even gotten dressed yet. Bucky left the room an hour ago so you could get ready in private. He didn’t want to intrude on your space saying that ‘I know how women are. My mom always enjoyed getting ready alone because she didn’t want to feel rushed.’ He was right, if he was in the same room you’d feel like you would have to get ready quickly.
You curse trying to get your heels ons as you lace up the second heel trying to secure it as much as possible so you wouldn’t fall. As you’re finishing up and repacking your makeup to clean up the area the door clicks open as Bucky walks in. You turn to him hoping he likes it. It’s nothing extravagant to you compared to their style. It’s a black strapless elongated dress tailored to your height. A narrow slit starts from the upper thigh opening towards the bottom.
“Wow, you look incredible. I mean not that you don’t always look good but today, tonight you just look exceptional.” You try not to smile at his words but fail. It’s the first time you’ve ever seen him flustered.
“Thank you, is this too much? It’s my old winter formal dress but I didn’t have time to get a new one.” You hope your attire suits the restaurant dress code. The last thing you want to do is embarrass yourself in front of him.
“No, you look perfect. It’s perfect.” He’s matching with black slacks, sweater, and a long peabody coat.
“I can say the same for you, I like the monochromatic look. It suits you.” Your comment makes him smile as it means a lot coming from you.
“I wanted to look my best for you.” He checks his watch, noticing the time,”we should probably head down. The valet is waiting for us.” He holds out his hand as you accept it.
The waiter sat you at a booth per Bucky’s request. You’re glad to sit to relieve pressure off your feet. You only walked a little but the heels are skinny and feel like they’re stabbing your feet. Bucky orders drinks for you as you look at the menu. It’s limited but that’s how most fine dining restaurants operate.
“I want you to get whatever you want. My treat.” You don’t say thank you this time. “Don’t worry, I will.” Your reply comes out teasingly creates a smirk on his face knowing that you’re comfortable around him and letting him treat you accordingly..
The finished entrees have been pushed to the side leaving waiting to be picked up as you listen to him talk about this week's work load. Your phone interrupts him mid sentence as a message comes through from your sister. He doesn’t mean to pry, it was in the middle of the table after all.
“Do you need to get that?” He asks politely knowing that he’d give you all the time you needed.
You check it before answering him.
‘Hey, just checking on you, hope you’re doing okay. It feels like we haven’t talked in a little bit.’ For a second you feel bad. But you also know she only comes around when you don’t make plans or reach out first. You are always chasing and you hate forcing things, especially familial ties. It’s also not just that, that makes you feel bad. You’re sitting across from her ex-boyfriend who she dated for 4 years who she thought she was going to marry. Given it’s been two years since they’ve broken up. Now you’re sitting here wondering if you should leave for her sake or stay for what your heart wants.
“No it’s fine, just something with my sister.” He must’ve noticed your demeanor change as he grabs your hand from the table. He rubs his thumb across your hand soothing you.
“I get it, this situation isn’t ideal nor normal in a sense. It’s confusing, conflicting. Like you're questioning yourself what's right and wrong or too far. If you want me to take you home tonight and never speak again I understand. But I will say regardless of what happens after tonight. It’s up to you. It’s your feelings I respect ultimately. But I want you to know, I’d regret it if I don’t at least try. Because even though it’s only been a few months since we reconciled, I finally got to know someone that I have never met. Emotionally and mentally you captivate me in a way no one else has. Someone that actually listens to me, understands me, and wants me for me, not for what I have. I would be a fool not to chase someone like that regardless of who they're tied to.” He takes a small breath before finishing, “I don’t want to imagine a life without you. If it’s not you then I don’t want anyone. Above all I don’t want to walk away from tonight without telling you how I feel. What I feel is you, you make up my thoughts, I see you in my future.  I’d do anything to prove that love I have for you. Even if it means allowing you to walk away tonight. Because you’re the most important thing to happen to me in a long time. The last thing I’d want to do is hurt you or make you choose something you aren’t ready for. I’m here for you even if you walk away, I’ll always come to you if you need me.”
His eyes are a little teary as he cups your hand with both of his hands and kisses it.
“You don’t have to make up your mind right n-” He’s cut off by you.
You interrupt him as you lean closer to the table with a shaky breath.“I don’t want to live a life I regret. Especially regretting someone that I could have a life with but chose not to out of fear or for someone else's feelings. I don’t know where life is supposed to lead me but I know I want it with you. Most people follow through with decisions based on what’s most logical but I choose my heart. And my heart wants you.”
He leans over the table as you meet him halfway to kiss him. Letting his lips envelope yours, soft and plump like you imagined. It’s sweet and gentle like him. You pull away from the short kiss wishing it lasted longer but you’re also in public.
“So you for sure don’t want to go home?” He asks one more time knowing your answer.
“Not unless it’s with you.”
No words are exchanged as you’re sitting on the edge of the bed, one of your legs is on his shoulder as he takes off your shoe. As he unties the last heel he kisses from your ankle to your thigh. Moving upwards to the wetness between your thighs. You lay back on the bed allowing for more access. He kneels on the floor, grabbing your ass and pulling it closer to him for better positioning. Your dress is pushed up, bunched around your waist as he pulls your panties off. He throws them to the side discarding them. You feel his breath on your pussy for a second before he kisses it. He gives the mound and lips little kisses teasing you as you wait for him to give you more. Shivers run down your spine as you feel his tongue on your slit. He flattens it to cover the whole area, licking a few times. Savoring the taste of you. He takes your swollen clit into his mouth to gently suck on. You can feel your clit pulsate as his tongue teases the little nub. Flicking it  and rubbing it in a circle with his tongue. Causing your hands to find his hair as you grip it and grind against his face. His hand reaches between your thighs as he rubs the soft skin gently before he runs two fingers over your wet pussy. A moan escapes your mouth as you feel his hand on your wet cunt. Once his fingers are wet, he uses one finger to open you up. Allowing you to get used to the feeling before he adds another. Another finger joins the first stretching you. It gives you some relief as you rock yourself on his fingers a little as he begins to lap at your clit. Tonguing the nerve as he finger fucks your small hole.
“Your fingers feel so good.” You moan gripping his hair.
He removes his face from your pussy, “you taste amazing. Just as I thought” He gets back to his feet to lean over you as he begins to furiously fuck you on his fingers. You’re cursing at him as he continues, loving the sounds you’re making and faces you make when you’re being pleasured. You place your fingers on your clit as you feel yourself getting close. Rubbing circles and other motions to aid in relief. You’re begging him at this point whimpering knowing how close you are. He adds one more finger stretching you beyond belief knowing that you can take it
“You’re taking my fingers so well I can’t imagine how good it’ll feel on my dick.” . He says as he guides you while you’re cumming. Letting you know how good you are and how pretty you are.
He waits a few more seconds before he pulls out his fingers leaving you empty. He gets off the bed to take off the rest of his clothes, swiftly undoing his buckle and pants to reveal a very prominent hard-on. You move closer to the headboard to get more comfortable as you wait for his return.
“I don’t have a condom. I wasn’t planning on having sex.” He’s on the bed again rubbing his cock trying to relieve the pressure.
“I don’t care, I just want you inside me.” Your voice is needy as he grins before he’s quickly in between your legs again.
He rubs his cock up and down your slit. Letting the juices coat the tip. He teases the clit for a second until you whine wanting him inside you. He lines his cock up at your entrance with one hand letting the tip slowly enter. He looks at you, watching your face to make sure he’s not hurting you. You gasp as he slides in, his length completely filling you up.
“You doing okay?” You nod as he waits for a second before moving.
His thrusts are gentle to not hurt your cervix. He knows his size is above average and easy to bruise if too rough. He leans down to kiss you, one hand on your hip, the other on your face. His kiss is hungry and rough compared to his thrusts.
“I’ve been waiting for this. Dreaming about this.” He says moaning into your mouth.
“I know, I’ve cum to you so many times.” You confess.
“I can’t count the times you’ve made me hard by just being next to you.” His pace quickens up which makes you grip his biceps.
“Fuck.” You draw out the word as he continues pounding.
He grabs your legs, bending your knees to your chest. This position leaves you completely folded, breathless, with how deep he is.
‘Fuck you’re so big Bucky.” You say throwing your head back.
“Maybe your cunt is just too tiny then. Maybe I just need to keep stretching you out then so you don’t forget who you belong to.” He leans his head down to watch his cock retreat in and out of your hole. Mesmerized by the wetness glistening on his cock.
He bites his lip as he slowly pulls out almost all the way, just to thrust back in. He loves watching your face as he’s inside you. Your little sounds and whimpers almost send him over the edge entirely with how sweet you are. You move your hips against his cock, meeting his thrusts. You’re so wet you can’t even tell if you’ve already cum or not. Sweat is building up on his forehead as you watch him pound into you. You know he’s close by the erratic thrusts.
“Where can I cum?” He asks, needing an answer quickly or else he’s about to make you a milf.
“Inside me. I’m on birth control.” He moans leaning down to kiss you as his thrusts speed up and his body shakes. Your walls grip him tightly as he spills his seed inside of you. Filling your cunt until it’s dripping.
Once he’s finished he gets a warm rag to clean you up. Letting the warmness soothe your now aching core.
“I love you” Bucky says as he doesn’t care to look for a ‘right time’ anymore.
“I love you too.” You really do.

Hey, I saw your fic requests open and I wanted to know if you could do Lee!dabi and Ler!tomo (I'm pretty sure that's the name of your oc if I remember correctly)? I love his quirk and it'd be interesting to see how you think dabi would react to it! ^^
-------------{ ☆°•○•°☆ }--------------
My Hero Academia: Join the Dark Side, Yo
Tumblr media
Oh my GOODNESS! It's been a little while since I've written something this long! I just love writing dialogue with my Tomo baby. He's such a sassy little shit XD I'd think Canon Dabi would just power through the tickles and incinerate Tomo, then find his family, burn them too, and probably steal his dog XD Buuuut, let's just pretend the tiggles are too strong! Thank you so much for the ask! Love you, thank you for your patience!
Summary: Dabi tries to convince Tomo to join the LOV.
Lee!Dabi, Ler!Tomo
Tw: Swearing, flirting
--------------------☆ ☆------------------------
Money, money, money! Today had been a successful hunt. Tomo had snatched several wallets from unsuspecting rich folk and even a snazzy Gucci watch that would fetch a nice handful at the cash pawn shop.
"Hmm... Udon set from the seven-eleven down the road? Ooor, maybe something from the night market?" He asked himself as he counted his wad of stolen cash. "Nice, I can afford both!"
"Abe Tomohiro."
"Huh?" The boy paused, hearing someone call his name from down an alleyway. "Yello?" He called back, stuffing the money into his pocket as he narrowed his eyes, trying to see who was talking to him in the dark.
Once his eyes focused, he saw a man staring at him with a grin across his scarred face. Dabi.
"Hey, kid. Come on down, I wanna have a talk." Dabi called, gesturing with a wave. He was on the lookout for villains to recruit into the League.
Tomo gulped, looking around for other civilians before taking a step closer, smiling. "My mum told me not to follow sexy men into dark alleyways."
"Hah, your mums a clever woman."
"That she is. Unfortunately, that intelligence didn't get passed down to me." Tomo smirked, walking towards Dabi casually. He knew that being defensive was usually worse in these situations.
Now face to face, Tomo looked up at the shadowy man who loomed over him.
"So, what can I do for you, sexy man in the alleyway? I'm afraid I'm not looking for company tonight if that's what you're offering." He smirked.
Dabi just smirked in return. He seemed to be in a good mood tonight. Otherwise, Tomos sass would find him dead. Dabi cocked his head to the side, looking down at the boy.
"I've heard a lot about you, Abe."
"Tomo is fine. No need for formalities." Tomo smirked as Dabi gave a nod of understanding.
"Tomo. I'm aware of what you get up to. You seem to have a real talent for it. And, you and the Pro hero, Hawks, are on good terms? Right?" He asked, raising a brow as he watched Tomo narrow his eyes.
"How'd you know that?"
"Doesn't matter. What I'm getting at is how useful you could be. I'm looking for people to join our little cause. You clearly understand that society is unbalanced. The way you only steal from those pompous rich bastards is evidence enough."
Tomo folded his arms, biting his lip as he listened. He knew where this was going, and he wasn't sure if he was keen on the idea. "Mhmm... What of it?"
"I think you'd be a handy addition to our group. Hawks, let's you commit crime. He knows you're stealing, and yet, he lets you walk free. That might come in handy for some dirtier jobs that come up." Dabi smirked, leaning close to Tomo, watching his eyes carefully.
"I reckon we see eye to eye on some level... I want what Stain is after. The fall of false heroes and-"
"Pffft-" Tomo cut him off, blowing a raspberry as he gave him a thumbs down. "Stain? Nuh-uh. No thanks, pal. I'm not out here to put anyone in the dirt."
Dabis friendly front immediately faded. Replaced with a blood-lust glare. "No?"
"Nah, I'm too pretty to be digging around in dirt like that. You're hot, but not pretty, so it's fine for you."
"I don't dig graves." Dabi growled, leaning closer, pinning Tomo between him and the wall with his arm.
"You don't? You mean... That smell is just you?"
"Moron. I don't dig graves because there's never anything left to bury!" The flame weirder ignited a warping blue flame in his palm, holding it close to Tomos face, slightly charring the tips of his hair.
Tomo scrunched his eyes shut, leaning away from the heat as he chuckled nervously.
"Ooho, damn. Yeah, that's hot." Tomo smirked, reaching a hand to pat Dabis chest. "Look, I appreciate the offer, I really do. But I'm just not built for the whole super-villain business, Mr- Uh, what was your name?"
"Dabi."
"Mr. Dabi. So-" Tomo ducked under Dabis arm, slowly starting to shimmy towards the main road again. "It's been nice, cool meeting a real villain and all, but I gotta go."
"Pitty." Dabi sneered, raising his hand, aiming a fireball at Tomo. "Shigaraki suggested you by name too. He held you in high regard, but I see you- GYAH!?" Dabi arched his back suddenly, yelping as his fire was diminished.
"Sorry bout that, I just hate long ass monologues." Tomo shrugged as he shook his head.
Dabi wasn't sure what just happened, but he was pissed!
"If you value your life, you won't do that again!" Dabi growled, clenching his fists angrily. His pride was already a little damaged due to the noise he made. Tomo chuckled, amused by Dabis reaction.
"Oh? Why?" Tomo asked, stepping a little closer, tilting his head.
"Does it tickle?"
Dabi felt a strange sensation in his chest. What was this feeling? He felt warm. Though not like any heat he had experienced before. This was different. Was he... Flustered?
"Little shit!" He was pissed. He tossed a fireball at Tomo. It was missed by inches as his aim was thrown off by a tickly sensation on his stomach that made him double over, clutching his stomach as he bit back a laugh.
"Oh, you are ticklish then! Never would have guessed~" Tomo teased, hopping up onto a dumpster and making himself comfortable as he watched Dabi consider his options. Which were limited at this time.
"Just get out of here, kid." The dark-haired villain hissed, keeping his eyes fixed on the concrete.
"Hm? And miss out on seeing a sexy villain like you laughing and begging for mercy under my hand? No can do, Mr. Dabi~" He raised his hands, starting to pinch the air. Each pinch made Dabi flinch and snicker.
"Gh-! I-I sweAh-! I swear, if you dOHON'T stop! I'll fihind y-you ahand- FUCK!" The constant random squeezing sensation moved up and down Dabis ribs, making it hard for him to string a sentence.
"You'll find me and what, sir? How forward of you, hehe~!" Tomo smiled, crossing his legs as he looked down at the squirming villain. "You're kinda cute when you laugh. Ya know?"
The light squeezing turned into more vigorous tickling, targeting the villains stomach now.
"Stahap! Y-You little shihiiiit! AHA! GR-! NOHO!" He rolled onto his side, clutching his stomach as a few small, harmless flames spurted from his palms. "Rrrh! NnnAHA!" His eyes scrunched shut, his knees pulled up into his chest as he tried to hide his expression from view.
"Nawww, look at that smile! You know, I love when big scary men like you are ticklish. It's very humbling and adorable. Kichy, kitchy kooo~" Tomo laughed with him, making squeezing gestures in the air that stuck to Dabis inner thighs, making him kick and flail helplessly.
"STAHAP! F-Fuhuhuck it! I-I'll bury yOHOHOUUU! AaaaAHA!"
"I thought you said you don't dig graves? Now you're lying to me? Ugh... It's always the pretty ones that are the liars." The tickling kicked up a notch as Dabis underarms were attacked.
"Kichy, koo~ Little squirmy wormy villy willain! So eeevil! Yes, I'm petrified right now, can you tell? Oh sho shcawy!"
"GOhod damn it! GyahahaAAAHAHA! NO! Noho! NAHAHAAaaa-!... *gasp* StyAHAP! STAHAHAAAAP!"
Dabi clamped his arms to his sides, throwing his head back in hysterics. He felt so vulnerable, something he hadn't felt in years now. And this sensation of tickling. Never before had he felt such a thing, it was so intense! It was... Pleasant? No! Of course not! He'd never think such a thing!
A sort passed his lips as he leaned up against the wall, just managing to prop himself upright as he laughed himself silly.
"HAHA! OHO SHIHIIIT! Dahahamn it! F-Fuhucking stahahap! EH!?" He gasped, looking up and realising the boy was long gone.
"HEY! Where'd you gohOH!? Come BAHAHACK! AHAHAAAaaaa-!... *gasp* GAHAHAD! C-COHOWARD! I'll fIHIIII- AHA!" It was no good. Dabi gave up throwing threats around. He rolled back onto his side, pulling his jacker collar up around his face, trying to keep his crimson red cheeks hidden and his laughter quieter.
Once the tickling finally subsided, Dabi couldn't even bother to be mad anymore. He just lay there for a while, staring up at the stars as he caught his breath. "Damn... Kid... Hah..." He smiled to himself, rubbing his side as a ghost tickle made him jump. Maybe Tomo was right to decline. Someone who tickles people for defence doesn't belong with a group of criminals like them anyway.
"My turn... Next time..."

One time when I was waitressing for $2.68/hr at a place that never got busy (no customers = no tips) a group of well dressed men came in literally 10 minutes before closing and ordered several of the big platters that take time to cook, and sat eating for an hour and a half past closing time, and also kept me running to refill things meaning I couldn’t do my closing chores while they ate. I brought them their $170 bill, and the man opened his Gucci wallet to get his card out. At this point it was way past closing, and since I didn’t have a car that meant I had to walk home in the dark now late at night by myself, but I figured it would be worth it to have at least gotten a decent tip. Actually, considering the level of service I was providing I was hoping for maybe even a big tip.
Came back to find they had left me like $5. I was so upset and complained to the restaurant owner, who explained that in their (the customer’s) culture people don’t tip so I shouldn’t get upset, and then told me a story about how when he first came to america and was looking for a job he worked for his boss for free for several months just to show how dedicated and hard working he was, which he was proud of and was suggesting I should have the same mindset. I tried to delicately let him know that was fucking illegal and it sounded like his boss took advantage of his ignorance of US labor laws to exploit him, but obviously that was not something he wanted to hear.
I let it go so I could finally start cleaning and closing down the restaurant and go the fuck home already (please also remember I get paid $2.68/hr, even for duties that don't involve customers and the potential for tips, so staying past my scheduled hours to serve these guys + close netted me somewhere between $5-$8, plus that $5 tip). It's been over 10 years and I still feel rage when I think about that night, and I bet none of those guys even slightly remembers it.
Also I think that story highlights well how exploitative our system is, as you can see how even my boss, the guy who owns the restaurant, has been used and abused by the system. He absolutely engaged in illegal labor practices while I was working there and I honestly don't even know if he was aware the stuff he did was illegal, because that's how he had always been treated as a worker. The whole thing is fucked, so the least you can do is tip your servers. Also, don't come in right before closing, it's a dick move.

Michael Kors Jet Set Crossbody vs. Other Popular Crossbody Bags: A Comparison
When it comes to fashionable and functional accessories, crossbody bags are a staple in the wardrobe of many style-conscious individuals. Among these, the Michael Kors Jet Set Crossbody has garnered significant attention for its sleek design and practicality. In this comparison, we'll explore how this iconic bag stacks up against other popular crossbody bags in the market.
Tumblr media
Design and Aesthetics
The Michael Kors Jet Set Crossbody is renowned for its elegant and timeless design, making it a versatile choice for both casual outings and more formal events. Its structured shape, coupled with the signature Michael Kors logo, adds a touch of luxury. On the other hand, other popular crossbody bags often incorporate trendier elements like bold colors, intricate patterns, or innovative materials to attract a younger demographic.
Functionality and Features
What sets the Jet Set Crossbody apart is its emphasis on functionality. It features multiple pockets and a spacious interior, ideal for organizing essentials without sacrificing style. Comparable bags from brands like Coach or Gucci also offer various compartments, but they may prioritize aesthetic details over practicality, which can affect their usability for everyday needs.
Material Quality and Durability
Michael Kors uses high-quality leather in the Jet Set Crossbody, ensuring it withstands the rigors of daily use while maintaining its luxurious feel. Competitors often use similar materials, but the craftsmanship and attention to detail in the stitching and finishes can vary, affecting the overall durability and appearance of the bag over time.
Price Comparison
Price is a significant factor for many consumers. The Jet Set Crossbody is positioned as an affordable luxury item, providing the allure of a high-end brand without the exorbitant price tag. This competitive pricing makes it an attractive option compared to more expensive offerings from luxury brands like Louis Vuitton or Prada, which, while prestigious, may be less accessible for the average consumer.
For those who also value a quality wallet, the Michael Kors Men's Wallet offers similar benefits in craftsmanship and style, making it an excellent complement to the crossbody bag. Explore these and other stylish options at FerraBag to enhance your accessory collection with choices that combine fashion with function.
