Wille jerked around — and stopped in his tracks, like he was playing musical statues all on his own. Wille wasn’t religious, had never been. Despite what some of you might be thinking, neither Jay @enjoythesilentworld nor I have lost the ability to spell. However, we do have a bad case of brainrot. So, when Jay (on a camping trip at the time) told me that someone had put their gear in their camping spot, we very quickly started to wilmonify the situation, as one does. A little bit of fun almost immediately turned into a fully-fledged outline to what would become Growing towards the light.

shoutout to my super duper smart nursing school teachers who put five (5) math questions on the test and fucked up two of them. the first one they asked you to calculate how many gttl/mL to administer, which is, in fact, given in the problem. it's supposed to be gttl/min. and then the second one they told you to round to the nearest tenth and the answer was 11.3 except the only viable answers were 11 and 1.3 which means 1) the correct answer wasn't even on the test and b) i had an existential crisis trying to figure out if 1.3 was a typo and it was supposed to be 11.3 and if I was supposed to pick that one (i was not) (which is good because i picked 11)

Некролог Адаму Парфри

Несколько дней назад умер Адам Парфри, создатель “Культуры Времен Апокалипсиса”, книги, которая не только описала свою эпоху (первое издание вышло в конце 80-х), но во многом предвосхитила будущее. Во многом благодаря Адаму Парфри я открыл для себя красоту Безумия. Настоящего Безумия с большой буквы, которое находится по ту сторону “хорошего” и” плохого”, по ту сторону “отвратительного” и “прекрасного”.

Саму «Культуру времён Апокалипсиса» я прочёл достаточно поздно, году в 2007. Как это часто бывает, кавер я услышал раньше, чем оригинал. Первые шаги к постижению Безумия были сделаны благодаря ЖЖ-комьюнити «Культура Русского Апокалипсиса», и только потом я ознакомился с первоисточником.

Маргиналы всех оттенков: оккультисты, фашисты, экстремисты, маньяки и визионеры — под одной обложкой. Человек, который считает, что «Культура времён Апокалипсиса» – это своеобразная кунсткамера, собрание уродцев на потеху смеющейся публике, попросту не понял книги. Человек, который считает, что книга пропагандирует взгляды своих персонажей – не понял вообще ничего (хотя именно из-за таких людей русскоязычное издание книги и было запрещено через пару лет после своего выхода).

Все эти маргиналы, бывшие героями и, в определённом смысле, соавторами книги (многие главы – тексты, написанные «персонажами» без каких-либо редакционных комментариев), – это и есть настоящая суть человеческого общества. Люди, которые оказались чуть более воспри��мчивы к тому безумию и хаосу, который каждый из нас неизбежно поглощает и генерирует. Они – не отбросы этого мира, а его настоящая душа, освобождённая от лицемерных рамок морали и приличий.

Предоставляя трибуну аватарам Хаоса, Парфри не развлекал публику, он не предостерегал, и не пропагандировал. Он относился к своему читателю с должным уважением (или же безразличием, что часто – одно и то же), чтобы не пытаться делать ничего из вышеперечисленного.

Парфри просто показывал то, что люди не замечали, или же не хотели замечать. Как вокруг, так и внутри себя. Показывал в предельно яркой и концентрированной форме. От героев, увековеченных Парфри, нас отделяет лишь только иллюзия собственного здравомыслия, но мы в любой момент можем утратить эту иллюзию. Или же отбросить её осознанно.

Книга была написана в 1987 году. С тех пор Хаоса не стало меньше, напротив, прогресс и новые технологии позволяют ему принимать всё новые и новые формы.

Только подумайте: Трамп – президент сильнейшей державы мира — общается с избирателями посредством твиттера. Интернет-тролли стали значимым фактором международной политики. По обе стороны океана крепнут движения ВИЧ-диссидентов и антипрививочников. Роботы проходят тест Тьюринга, а люди – не всегда.
