YOU UNDERSTAND

I played both games (I player GT before I played genshin, moslty because I didn't had the right hardware requirements to run genshin)

and I find GT way easier to understand

it has amazing music that'll me you cry, beautiful "cutscene" drawings and really interesting story thats just full of references to other stuff

and genshin is... well it is good, but I only started playing because I was bored, I have so many quests half finished cuz I just don't understand what I need to do

it has amazing cutscenes, yes, but the music is just isn't as powerful as the GT music

not to mention it's more and more looks like a LoZ ripoff, especially with the music mechanic in sumeru and then they try to convince us that it's just a coincidence

and then there's GT that also really similar to LoZ games (mostly the early games) but they not just embrace it, but also make it an easter egg (Hyper, hero of Byrule)

and one more key difference, the early game experience

in genshin you can speed through the early game (if you skip all dialogue) but you won't know what to do, how to make characters stronger, what is a good character combo and it's just overcomplicated, not to mention, unless you are really lucky or have a heck ton of money (and time) you won't get the characters you want

and in GT, you get like 30+ free summons if you're new to the game plus you get a guaranteed unique hero and either a legendary or a rare weapon

it's a gacha game too so the problem with not getting the character you want stands here as well BUT you so have the chance to get any unique hero (except the collab event ones) if you collect 300 mileage tickets, not to mention there is a lot of events where you get gems and free summons

and going back to the one guaranteed unique, you get 3 guaranteed unique heros in total, one when you first stard a game (random hero), you get plitvice in heavenhold after collecting enough soul power, and you get FP (future princess) after beating world 9

all in all, I like GT better, it might be my personal bias because it didn't gave me frustration because I couldn't download it or that it didn't make me motion sick

anyway silly little hot take that shouldn't be a hot take: Guardian Tales is better than Genshin and deserves a million times more love than it is getting.

Guardian Tales was also released months before Genshin, before anyone tries to claim Guardian Tales rips off aspects of Genshin
