Grune: *changes armor in the middle of the battlefield to signify his betrayal*

Now, you might've clocked Grune as a liar when he claimed Panthro was dead. After all, Panthro's the one on the series cover art. But last time around, I just thought he was wrong, and it wasn't until the lizards started coming out of the ore that it clicked. The flags were subtle enough that he only came off as just a bit more of a dick than Claudus or Tygra.

And I appreciate that they didn't assume the audience would already be able to tell and overtelegraph it. It's important to set up your twist and you definitely shouldn't try to make it completely unpredictable, but you also shouldn't blow it before it's actually time just because some of the audience might pick up what you're putting down. Just cook.

By the way, my jaw legit dropped when I saw the Grune episode of the 80s show, because I somehow convinced myself that 2011 made Grune up. Certainly made him more important, at least.

Other than the general imperialism, Claudus is also just so sure of the hard barriers he sees between different species that he couldn't have seen Grune's betrayal coming, even if in hindsight hoo boy was he a walking red flag.

Upon learning that the outside world actually thinks they crashed upon reentering the earths atmosphere, the astronauts run for their lives knowing that the government can’t afford for the men to stay alive. Capricorn One is an excellent conspiracy picture that sadly seems to have been largely forgotten. Even today we are still hearing mooted stories of the landing on the moon actually being fake, so here director and writer Peter Hyams takes it and crafts a thrillingly taut piece of work. At the films heart is Elliot Gould’s (his great 70s work under valued) intrepid journalist, Robert Caulfield, after being nudged in the ribs by one of his friends at NASA, is himself under threat of death from shadowy government types who will think of nothing to offing him along with the astronauts. The film is split into two very significant halves, the first half is the set up, the conversations before and after the fake landing are clever and crucially attention grabbing, and of course we get to know our characters with the right amount of time. The film then shifts for the second half into a quality thriller chase movie, our main protagonists pursued by the government assassins courtesy of two gun toting helicopters. Jerry Goldsmith’s score brilliantly becoming part of the chase sequences, making the helicopters seem like death stalking machines operated by no man alone. We even get Telly Savalas joi...

"Plant Fever" in Dresden: looking for new design ideas

 Pillnitz Castle and Park in Dresden (D) will be a platform for innovations in terms of sustainability for six months from Sunday 23/4. The exhibition “Plant Fever. Botany, Man, Design” illuminates the potential of cooperation between people and flora, the world of plants, also with a view to a historical tradition. The current debates on climate justice, ecological footprint or consumption show that this relationship urgently needs to be rethought, as Thomas Geisler, director of the Dresden Museum of Applied Arts, said on Thursday 20/4. There, the future of design is viewed from a "vegetable perspective".

The show is intended to promote understanding and the perception that plants, like humans, are living organisms and that survival can only be ensured "at eye level", said Geisler. “We can still learn a lot from the plant world.” This requires a rethink. "We must not only understand nature as a world of things, but must deal with this resource carefully." It is about the production of what is necessary and the question of which resource is used in which form, about overexploitation or the circular economy.

In addition, around 50 international projects from applied art, science and research will be presented and prototypes will be shown - from fashion and furniture to computer technology to biorobots and food. "It's about looking at design from a plant perspective and moving from a human-centric to a phyto-centric design." The objects range from 3D-printed prototypes made from plant-based materials to leather substitutes made from pine bark or a chair growing from willow to substitute objects to preserve biodiversity: sex toys for plants.

It is also highlighted that Pillnitz was already suffering from "plant fever" in the 19th century. Two Saxon kings turned the summer residence garden into a botanical collection. This resulted in the Dresden horticultural tradition, whole horticultural dynasties and world-class horticultural exhibitions. In this tradition, research and teaching institutions from the state and federal government[1] work together today - in the Green Forum Pillnitz[2].

Seemed she didn't mind the notion of Eizen getting annoyed at her for talking to Edna about what he'd told them. Maybe it was just a big brother thing. Velvet wouldn't know. She'd only ever had an older sister and a little brother. And... a brother-in-law.

Hearing it straight from Edna's mouth how immature Eizen could be when it came to his passions, how nerdy he was, did make a soft laugh escape her. In a way, the bond the earth malaks shared reminded her of better days. Even with his curse, they still cared about each other. It was good to see.

Some of what Eizen had told Edna, Velvet knew, must have been remembered from the speech Laphicet had given her. The one that had snapped her out of that awful cloud of despair she'd almost succumbed to. Eizen wasn't wrong to repeat them, though. The descriptors did suit her. For a moment, Velvet wondered if Edna might have something more to say about her being a Lord of Calamity. Apparently she didn't, though.

She wasn't sure whether to be relieved or not over that notion. In truth, Velvet didn't care what most thought about her being the Lord of Calamity. But most people were just the regular human populace. She also was the first of her kind, at least as far as she knew. If anyone had followed in her footsteps...

Best not to worry about it, she decided.

"That sounds about right. He's not wrong, either. I've been told I'm full of contradictions. And scary. And about everything in between," she finally said. Amusement flickered in golden eyes as she listened to Edna talk about the notion of Velvet being stuck with him, though. "He's been a valuable ally. As stubborn and unwavering as he is. Certainly doesn't make for a dull companion when he gets going on something he likes." Case in point, the way he'd talked about the enormous urn they'd fished up.

"So if I am stuck with him, there's worse people out there." Mostly Magilou. But even she had her moments.

It seemed Edna must have been on the same wavelength as Velvet, as she mentioned the exact urn Velvet had been thinking of. It made sense Edna would want to know about it. Velvet just shook her head a bit at first.

"That thing? It was something we fished up when we were looking for therions, trying to weaken Innominat," Velvet answered. Not that that much had worked out. It turned out they'd misinterpreted what they'd needed to do, as Innominat and Artorius were not ashamed to rub in their faces. Based on Edna's words, it was clear enough what she thought of the thing. Weird. Even Velvet had to agree with that much.

"He said it was made by some famous potter. Grune, I think? I don't know. I'm not as into art as he is." He had a... passionate interest in art, they'd been quick to learn.

"You mentioned he's always 'geeked out' over things, so I assume that includes art? I don't really get it."

The more she listens to is-Velvet-not-Eleanor, Edna isn't quite sure if she should be embarrassed that her brother spoke of her like that—but she eventually decides to simply be happy. After all, she knows his curse is a touchy subject with her, and even if Velvet hadn't told her about it, Edna still knows Eizen was always very careful with her. He has always kept her safe, he has always tried to be there without really being there, he is always her brother, he is always her most important person: she's content enough remembering these things.

❛  ...Thanks,  ❜ she finally says. The fact that his friends know just how much they matter to each other is all she can ask for. It's how she knows Onii-chan found some trustworthy people to be with, no matter how strange it is for her to acknowledge that. He did say he was a pirate, so she wasn't too sure about what sorts of people he hangs around with. He also said she's the Lord of Calamity, but the more they talk, the more Edna feels like this title is strange for Velvet. She's way, way different than Kittybeard. Someone who willingly tells her that her older brother cares about her cannot be a truly blackhearted person. Velvet is all right to her. Edna quips lightly, ❛  He might be annoyed at you for telling me this, though.  ❜

Looking at the mask in her hand, she feels her eyes softening a little fondly. ❛  You'd think he's the mature one, but sometimes I had to tell him to calm down because he's too busy geeking out over something. It must not be boring when you guys travel.  ❜ Sorey and Meebo certainly liven things up for her with their many geek-fests even though she tunes them out. All three of them would get along, she thinks. 

Edna regards her thoughtfully, but is unable to view Velvet as someone like Kittybeard. The title might've been butchered as time evolved. ❛  I came here not knowing you were here, but it's true I'm curious about who my brother aligned himself with. The letters were a little vague—  ❜ As if he didn't want her to know something. ❛  —but when I saw him the other day, he said you could be quite angry, that you were the Lord of Calamity.  ❜ And because Velvet has not lied to her, Edna continues, ❛  But he told me of the cause you were fighting for; and even though you had your moments, he said you were also kind.  ❜

After a beat, Edna gives her a meaningful look. ❛  He can be a pain sometimes, but he's not one to go back on his word, and he's really good at worrying. Looks like you're stuck with him for a while longer.  ❜ Please look after him for me, her eyes say. This is already too much sentimentality for her liking, so she adds, on a more whimsical note, ❛  I remember one of the gifts he sent me was a weird clay pot wrapped in sunflower-print paper. The only question I have is if you know where he got that from.  ❜

Also, EMDR is more helpful than hypnosis in making contact with preverbal and nonverbal ego states earlier in the therapy. These types of personalities/ego states are frequently important flashpoints of distress for the system of mind; they, with EMDR, can be given Better support to resolve therapeutic connundra.

The Wreathing Protocol grants safe access to therapy material that typically slows down a therapy. The avoided therapy data can be consciously withheld by the patient because the data is too shamed based; it can be sequestered in personalities that are nonverbal and that are not allowed to speak to an outsider (like the therapist); it can be segregated in personalities or, it can be isolated in a particularly disowned and rejected personality such as an internal abuser. The Wreathing Protocol, because of its structure, predictability, explicitness as well as its ability to process an experience without immediately putting words to it, permits for the detoxification of therapy facts that are traditionally avoided by the patient and which require many clarifications and confrontations by the therapist.

Projective techniques are important tools for clients with MPD (Frye, 1990). Painting, sand play, drawing, clay and play therapy allow alters to communicate non-verbally. While these media are used extensively for many alters, they become especially important for the withdrawn, deaf and non-verbal personalities. Many alters have been threatened by the abuser “not to tell” about the abuse, therefore “showing” through art or play seems safer at first (Higdon, 1990). The therapist can then use the uncovered material in the review of memories which is necessary for eventual integration. Art also assists in the identification of alters who have not yet made themselves known in therapy. In one case, while an alter was painting, a different voice inquired, “Can anyone paint what they want?”. With reassurance, the “new to therapy” alter painted a picture portraying an incident of abuse. Although he would not identify himself, he asked if he would be allowed to come again stating, “I’ve got lots more pictures”.

This paper focuses on treatment strategies for treating a patient with multiple personality disorder (MPD) in a hospital setting. Dissociative phenomena and signs and symptoms of MPD are reviewed. Using a multidisciplinary approach, several strategies and treatment issues are illustrated. The nursing process helps to organize the various strategies employed in working with patients who have MPD.

We encourage the alters to share knowledge and information with the host personality. Initially we encourage the parts to transmit neutral messages across the amnesia barriers. In this way, different alters’ voices can be differentiated and various personalities can get to know one another. Messages can be sent to the host personality when the host is listening to the internal voice of another alter. Sometimes we encourage the alters to write back and forth on paper to increase coconsciousness and decrease fear and reluctance. Occasionally we video tape or audio tape the various personalities to illustrate their distinctness and uniqueness. Some patients are surprised to find out that the various personalities have different friends, are talented in dance, are very young and can not write, are non-verbal, or speak and present themselves very differently from the presenting personality.

Listening to other people doesn't mean blindly accepting that those voices are correct without critical thinking.

Yes, you should listen to people from other communities. But that doesn't mean you should trust that they're being honest, or that they're fully informed, completely uncritically.

While most of the people spreading the debunked lie that system hopping was a RAMCOA term weren't RAMCOA survivors... some were. And according to certain people on this site, that means you should blindly accept their claims to terms they didn't create entirely because they said so.

I can't agree with that.

I can't support a standard that throws critical thought out the window and tells you to ignore what you know is true.

There is courage in admitting when you're wrong. But there is also courage in standing firm when you aren't, but everyone tells you that you are.

The fact is that "nonverbal" has a long history of being used to refer to individual headmates.
