Urgent aid needed!
As many off you know I have shared @ashleymilesphil 's fundraiser here
Here is a post by @evpath providing proof of legitimacy. She is also #2 on this vetted list.
Since then the situation has become more urgent!
I have personally been in contact with Ashley who has shared their stories with me. (Documentation below)
Today I recived an urgent message
id: I wanted to share an urgent update regarding our situation in Gorom refugee camp. Today, I attended a meeting with South Sudanese government officials and other authorities. They informed us that they do not want us in Gorom camp, claiming that UNHCR brought us here without their approval. Both the government and the local authorities stated that we must leave within ten days.
When we asked where they expect us to go, they made it clear that this is not up for negotiation it is an order. They had no concrete plan for our relocation but suggested Juba town, which, given our case profiles, is extremely unsafe for us. They also expressed frustration over the recent cut in U.S. funding, stating that they have lost jobs, and the only solution they see is for us to leave because they canât offer any protection or support to continue keeping us here, ( remember we relocated from another camp called Kakuma refugee camp in Kenya last year 2024 in January and December of 2023 following alot of persecution and death to some of our fellows)
We are scheduled to meet with UNHCR on Monday, and we hope to have more information after that discussion. At this moment, we are uncertain about what to do next, but we wanted to keep you updated.
Please let me know if there are any possible avenues of support or advice. We appreciate your solidarity in these difficult times /end id
Here is some of their stories
ID:
SILENCED, STARVING, AND FORGOTTEN: THE REALITY OF QUEER REFUGEES IN EAST AFRICA
Our Journey from Uganda to Kakuma and Gorom: A Fight for Survival
We are a group of over 300+ LGBTQ+ refugees from across East Africa, including Uganda (60%), the Democratic Republic of Congo, Burundi, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Ethiopia. We are here because our countries have criminalized our very existence.
We live together as a family, supporting one another in a world that wants to erase us. But every day, our numbers grow as more LGBTQ+ people flee the worsening violence in their home countries. We are running out of places to hide.
Why We Fled Uganda: The Brutal Reality of Anti-LGBTQ+ Laws
Uganda is one of the most dangerous places in the world for LGBTQ+ people. The Anti-Homosexuality Act has made our very existence a crime. This law imposes: ⢠Life imprisonment for same-sex relationships. ⢠The death penalty for âaggravated homosexualityâ (which can simply mean being openly LGBTQ+). ⢠20-year prison sentences for anyone advocating for LGBTQ+ rights or providing support.
These laws have emboldened mobs, police, and even family members to attack, imprison, and kill us without consequence. Many of us were beaten, outed by neighbors, fired from jobs, or attacked by our own families.
We fled, hoping for safety. But instead, we found more suffering.
Kakuma Refugee Camp, Kenya: A Place of Violence, Not Refuge
Many of us arrived at Kakuma Refugee Camp in Kenya, believing the United Nations (UNHCR) would protect us. Instead, we were hunted down by fellow refugees and local communities who saw us as a threat. ⢠Hate-fueled Attacks: We were beaten, raped, and even burned alive in targeted attacks. ⢠No Protection from UNHCR: Despite our cries for help, UNHCR ignored us. The police sided with our attackers, refusing to intervene. ⢠Starvation and Disease: Food rations were barely enough to survive. The water was often contaminated, making us sick. Those of us with HIV/AIDS had no access to life-saving medication.
After years of relentless violence, some of us made the painful decision to leave Kakuma only to find even greater danger elsewhere.
Gorom Refugee Camp, South Sudan: From One Warzone to Another
In 2024, a group of us fled Kakuma, hoping for safety in another neighboring country. We arrived at Gorom Refugee Camp in South Sudan, only to find ourselves in a warzone. ⢠Homosexuality is criminalized in South Sudan, meaning if we are caught, we could be executed. ⢠We live in hiding, terrified that any moment, someone might betray us. ⢠We are starving. Many days, we go without food. Some of us have collapsed from hunger. ⢠We have no clean water. We are forced to drink from contaminated sources, leading to cholera, typhoid, and severe diarrhea. ⢠We have no medical care. Those of us with HIV/AIDS are at extreme risk without treatment. Many have already died. ⢠We have no shelter. When the rains come, our makeshift homes are washed away, leaving us exposed to attacks. ⢠Our people are being killed. Lesbians are being raped as a âcorrectiveâ measure. Transgender refugees are brutalized. We have lost friends, their bodies left in the dirt.
We left Uganda and Kenya, searching for a safe place to exist. But nowhere is safe for us.
A Lost Hope: The US Resettlement That Never Came
For years, we believed we had a way out. Many of us had undergone all the necessary interviews, background checks, and paperwork to be resettled in the United States.
We were waiting for our final medical screenings before we could fly to safety. We were finally seeing a light at the end of the tunnel.
But then, Donald Trump came into power.
Under his administrationâs policies, the refugee resettlement program was drastically cutâand our applications were terminated overnight. Years of waiting, hoping, and preparing for a safe future were destroyed in an instant.
We were left stranded. Many of us had already left Kakuma, believing our flights were just weeks away. When the program was canceled, we had nowhere to go forced to remain in South Sudan, trapped in a warzone where we are hunted down simply for existing.
Hope on the Horizon: Canadaâs Lifeline for Some of Us
Despite the devastation of the US refugee programâs collapse, there is still hope. ⢠In November 2024, at least 25 LGBTQ+ members from our community were resettled to Canada. ⢠For those of us who had our files at the US Embassy, Canada has offered a second chance. The files are being recalled and resubmitted to the Canadian Embassy for consideration. ⢠Interviews with the Canadian Embassy are ongoing, but it is important to note that this is a very slow process that could take years.
Though resettlement is uncertain for most of us, knowing that some of our friends have found safety gives us the strength to keep fighting.
A Deadly Blow: Loss of USAID HIV/AIDS Treatment
Before, many of us relied on free monthly HIV/AIDS treatment provided by USAID. This was a lifeline, allowing those living with HIV to stay alive despite the hardships.
However, under Trumpâs administration, this channel of aid was blocked, cutting us off from the medication we desperately need. Since then, many of our community members have died from preventable complications. Others are suffering, their health deteriorating rapidly.
This decision was a death sentence for many of us.
The Forgotten Children: Innocent Lives at Risk
Among us are children many of whom were born as a result of rape and forced marriages. These children are the forgotten victims of this crisis. ⢠They have no food. ⢠They have no medical care. ⢠They have no future.
The harsh conditions in the camp expose them to deadly diseases like malaria, cholera, and typhoid. Just last year, we lost at least three children because we could not access the medicine to save them.
These children did not choose this suffering. But they are suffering nonetheless.
Why We Need This Website: A Voice for the Silenced
For too long, our struggles have been hidden. The world does not see us. The world does not hear us. This website will change that.
It will serve as: 1. A Beacon of Awareness: We will document our suffering, so the world cannot ignore us any longer. 2. A Lifeline for Support: This platform will allow us to raise funds for survival food, clean water, medical care, and shelter. 3. A Call to Action: We need the international community, activists, and human rights organizations to stand with us before it is too late.
Our Immediate Needs: Your Help Saves Lives
â
FOOD â We are starving. Many of us go days without eating. â
CLEAN WATER â Contaminated water is killing us. â
SHELTER â We need a safe place to sleep, away from violence. â
MEDICATION â Those living with HIV/AIDS and other illnesses need life-saving treatment. â
MOSQUITO NETS â Malaria is one of the biggest killers in our camp. â
SANITARY PRODUCTS â Many of us, especially women, have no access to basic hygiene.
Final Plea: Donât Let Us Be Forgotten
We need you. We cannot do this alone. Please stand with us before it is too late.
đ Hope is not lost. Together, we can make a difference. đ/end id
Here is the anti homosexuality bill signed by the parliament of Uganda and the president.
Some media has been edited by me to protect the identies of the refugees.

Letâs start with my mom: My mom is not the worst mom. I love her so much that it hurts. She could just be better like all the other parents in the world. Like once she kicked me out of the house bc of my stepdad who cheated on her multiple times and treated her like absolute shit. She would purposely put my little sister off to the side (which doesnât make sense bc my step dad is her fatherđ) and would put her on me and my older sister. She used to constantly criticized me on how my hair looked, how I dressed, and more. But that motivated me. I changed up my wardrobe, started learning how to do my hair, bought makeup, everything. I did it not only bc of what she would say but what people at school would say. Which when I told her I was getting bullied at school, she told me to just stand up for myself and when I told her I didnât know how, she would ridicule me about that too. Another time she flat out told me I wasnât wanted. AT A PUBLIC POOL. There were worse times than others but Iâm glad I still have a good relationship with my mom. Not everyone is as lucky as me
Now my dad on the other hand, fuck him. First off, when I was growing up he was a poor excuse of a father. He still is but thatâs wtvđ. He would bail on me at times even though he promised. And when his health got worse, he started to treat me like a maid. I do currently live with my dad and for the past few months, I have to do almost everything for him. Heâs always like âKenya do this for meâ and âKenya do that for meâ. He asks me for so much that sometimes he pays me. I cook for him, I clean for him sometimes, I get things for him and what I donât do, my grandma does. And let me tell you, my grandma is a strong woman bc I would have gave up a long time ago if I was her. This man is ungrateful, lazy, a piece of shit, and a overall bad person. He smells first of all at his big grown age, my grandma cleans up after him, and the reason I say heâs ungrateful is bc recently when he got back from the hospital bc of a knee injury, my grandma had stripped his bed and he got mad. He said and I quote âI told her what to do and she just did whatever she wanted to do.â So I said âyouâre lucky she washed anything. Just ungrateful.â And this dumbass nigga had the audacity to say to me âI didnât ask for your fucking attitude Kenya. You sit in here and let her do the shit.â Referring to her stripping his bed and cleaning his sheets. I just walked off before I hurt him bc he can be such a pain in the fucking ass, you know? Like y grandma is not getting any younger and youâre just putting more stress on her. And what kills me is he got a degree and never did anything with it bc heâs a failure. Why go to college and never have a career? What makes me mad about that is some people never got the chance to go to college and you just threw your life away like nothing? And he canât even blame it on his health bc ITS HIS FAULT IN THE FIRST PLACE. Itâs all those years of terrible eating and unhealthy decisions that got you in this place.
I could really talk about my dad for hours and how much I hate that man. But whatâs crazy is I would still be sad if he died. Sometimes I feel like I wouldnât though
okay babes why are you almost me
iâm the same way with my mom, like sheâs almost my best friend, we have a pretty good relationship, definitely better than most but she is also the meanest person to me in my life. sheâs the only one who can make me feel as terrible as i do, yet i love her????
and for the doing everything around the house, i also relate to that. my mom has me and my siblings clean the entire house, she used to withhold food or sleep until we got things done, she would scream and more that iâd rather just not get into but luckily sheâs too old to do that anymoreâ or weâre too big. but i donât know why some parents think their children were made to serve them? like weâre our own people with our own lives. you wouldnât like to be doing something like this for free so what makes you think i want to?
and i hope u donât take this the wrong way but your dad sounds insanely immature. like as a grown ass man youâre yelling at your child and your mother over some bedsheets!?! just hearing abt it is making my blood boil
and then i said how youâd still be sad if he died omg i felt that
my dad was abusive and had been absent for god knows how long but if i randomly got some shit in the mail saying he diedâŚ? i think iâd still feel some sadness over it and it makes me even more upset that he can make me feel anything when he doesnât deserve any of it

Sorry to correct you but. Samosa is an indian dish not Kenyan
Hello anon! LOL okay I never expected to get into Samosa Discourse on my Star Trek blog but I happen to love food and history and the history of food so here we gođ
You are correct that samosas are not native to Kenya- and yes, India is by far the country most associated with samosas in the popular imagination (for good reason, samosas are pretty much omnipresent throughout India!) But while samosas are not originally from Kenya, that doesn't mean (imo at least) that they cannot be counted as part of Kenyan cuisine. (Which I didn't even necessarily do in that post, but I understand your position so I'll elaborate on those terms!)
Kenya is a multi-ethic country made up of several African peoples and migrant communities, including Kenyan Asians. Now, the history of South Asians living in/trading with East Africa goes back centuries, but there was also this huge (and deeply colonial) boom in the Asian population during the late 1800s-early 1900s when the British sent tens of thousands of indentured Indian labourers to Kenya to build the Uganda railway. (There is a LOT more history I could get into re the British East Africa Protectorate and the complicated social dynamics between African & Asian communities at the time, but that's not really relevant to samosas so I'll spare you.)
Anyway, modern day Kenya still has a considerable South Asian population, and as such (again not getting into the more complicated social dynamics here), Kenyan cuisine has a lot of Indian (and Arab) influences. But beyond that- Swahili culture(s) and cuisine(s) evolved over centuries of interaction between the various (predominantly Bantu) peoples of East Africa and traders from West, Central & South Asia (who brought in- among other things- their own spices), so cultural intermingling has always been a staple of the East African coast (which is geographically SO close to Asia!) If you were to walk around some of the bigger, more Asian diaspora-heavy cities of Kenya, like Mombasa or Nairobi, you'd find plenty of chicken/fish-based coconut curries & stews that strongly resemble Indian ones- as well as rice-based dishes like pilau & biriyani, rotis, chapatis, bhajias (called 'bajjis' in certain parts of India), kheemas, kebabs- and yes, samosas. Or sambusas, as they're often called in Kenya.
And what's more- the samosa (originally 'samsa' iirc) likely originated in Central Asia in the first place! It still goes by other names in West Asia and North Africa too; as do several other dishes-in-common. In fact, kuku paka (a dish I mentioned in the post that prompted this ask) is a Kenyan chicken curry with distinct Indian & Arabic influences. So if samosas can qualify as Indian cuisine (which, they undoubtedly do), imo they can qualify as a part of Kenyan cuisine too! Anyway I'm truly sorry I let this ask get SO far away from me lmao, I guess I've always felt a bit alienated by this growing tendency in Asian & African communities to sort of rigidly and unquestioningly (even proudly) uphold colonial divides when our cultures are actually so sprawling and ancient? Like sure, we are not monoliths, and it is important that people learn that- but also, so many political borders across both continents didn't even exist as they are today even a hundred years ago. It's so cool how much there is in common! Food, like so many other aspects of culture, is often migratory and full of varied influences, and that's just so deeply human and beautiful and fascinating to me
#nebulouscoffee on tumblr: come for the trekposting stay for the samosa lore apparently? lol#apologies to anyone who actually read all this rambly nonsense wish I could give you a sambusa/samosa as a reward#also anon I know you meant well and TRULY no hard feelings so pls don't take this the wrong way but. this ask made me giggle#I don't know if you're indian or just a concerned (white) citizen but speculating actually cheered me up on a Trying night so thank you!#in either case: you needn't worry!! I'm not out here on a mission to spread samosa misinformation on my star trek blog peace and loveee#(in all seriousness I'm very sorry if this reply came off as condescending or dismissive I promise it wasn't at all meant that way)#((might delete later btw just putting that out there))

The people growing their own toilet paper
One million trees worldwide are cut down each year to make toilet paper. Is it more sustainable to grow your own?
In Meru, a town in eastern Kenya, a lush, leafy plant sways over the landscape. Benjamin Mutembei, a Meru resident, is growing the Plectranthus barbatus plant â not for food, but to use as toilet paper. He started growing the plant in 1985. "I learned about it from my grandfather and have been using it ever since. It's soft and has a nice smell," he says.
Plectranthus barbatus is a leafy plant that can grow up to 2m (6.6ft) tall. Its leaves are roughly the size of an industrial toilet paper square and emit a minty, lemony fragrance. Covered in tiny hairs, the leaves have a soft texture. This plant thrives in warm tropical temperatures and partial sunlight and is widely grown across Africa, where it is sometimes used to demarcate property boundaries Read more...

Needless to say, when something you've always wanted shows up at your doorstep...maybe you don't question it too hard.  Especially when you live in a city full of weird super heroes like "Hot Dog Dan" who can give people magic powers through food.  The world is a strange place, sometimes you gotta embrace the crazy On a side note, if you'd like to help out a real Kenyan orphanage, you can check out Mahli pa Maisha  which is run by one of my cousins and his wife  They live in Kenya full time and take in abandoned children under the age of 2.  Some of the kids were abandoned in hospitals...sometimes left to die in latrines.  They have a couple of children with special needs that are a little older (children that are HIV+ or have genetic special needs).  They adopt the children out to Kenyan families since international adoptions aren't currently open in Kenya.  They grow a lot of their own food and do community outreach to help teach others how to purify water and grow higher yield crops.  They've saved 250 babies, but since it's a non-profit, they're always looking for donations.  Consider helping out a baby in need, or at the very least, check out their site and see some adorable little baby faces!

Time Enough At Last
Brian May x reader | some existentialism, the middle has some heavy content, discussion of the apocalypse and a bombing, the twilight zone | gender neutral reader | fluff, very fluffy | wc.717
i really appreciate the request! i hope you enjoy, rerequests are always open if you want me to rewrite (its def not the best iâve written). also, this revolves heavily around the twilight zone, the name of this fic shares a name with the episode theyâre watching. enjoy!!
A saucepan of oatmeal cooked on the stovetop. Soft light filtered into the small kitchen, illuminating the snake on the cover of Brianâs National Geographic - once the pinnacle of his attention as he raved about Kenya and Captain Cook and the Missouri River.
It could have been Brianâs sporadic studio schedule or simply a new-found sleepy morning appreciation but he had been clingy all morning, practically attached to you at the hip. He stood behind you at the stove, long arms looped around your waist, chin on your shoulder.
You reached back to pat at his messy curls, âYou have to be uncomfortable standing like that.â
He shook his head, toying with a bit of fabric from your pyjama shirt, âPerfectly content,â
âWell Iâm very sorry to inform you but you may have to detach for a moment,â You gently nudged him off, prompting quite a bit of protest, as you scooped oatmeal into ceramic bowls.
In the living room, Twilight Zone reruns played on the television as you settled into the couch. Onscreen a little man in a pin-stripe suit and cokebottle glasses navigated the decrepit remains of his town. A few minutes prior in the episode there had been a bombing and he was the lone survivor, the result of a retreat into a bank vault so he could read in peace.
Brian was completely engrossed by the story, spoonful of oatmeal halfway to his mouth. As all seemed lost for the man on-screen Brian turned towards you, âWhat would you do in such a situation?â
You shrugged, spooning porridge into your mouth, âI donât know, what would you?â
âHis idea isnât terrible-â He gestured towards the man, now overjoyed by the library he had found in the rubble, â- But realistically it isnât feasible. With the water probably irradiated and no food around, plus he doesnât have any shelter and the weather would be more than inclement. He isnât properly prepared for what's happening. I donât know what Iâd do either, the situation isnât ideal,â
The man cried onscreen. Both of you turned your attention back to the scene where he held his broken glasses. He cried about the unfairness, questioned how it had happened and what heâd do. There was heavy existentialism as the camera panned out.
Both you and Brian stared at the screen for a moment while the credits rolled. He took a breath and leaned back, âThat was⌠unfortunate,â He looked over to you, still reeling from the ending, âAre you done with your bowl, my love?â
When he returned from putting the dishes in the sink Brian settled back into his corner of the couch. He opened his arms, beckoning you into his embrace. You obliged, curling into his chest.
âYouâre warm,â You murmured into the crook of his neck.
His eyebrows twitched, not quite furrowing, âAre you cold?â
You shook your head, âNoo, youâre just warm,â It was quiet for a moment as he began to stroke his fingers through your hair and you toyed with a loose string on his sweater, basking in the gentle Sunday morning ambiance. You looked up at him, âWhat would be your ideal situation?â
He hummed in thought, âWell obviously youâd be there. Maybe weâd live in the country with some animals, we could grow some of our own food. Just something nice and peaceful, every day like this,â He stroked over your cheekbone.
âThat sounds nice.â You nodded, âWould we have cows?â
Brian grinned, âOf course we would have cows, what kind of farmers would we be if we didnât?â
âFarmers,â The thought made you giggle, âCould you imagine us as farmers? Directly from our London apartment, you in a rock band and me with a shitty office job.â
He joined in your laughing, âWe could do it, pack up right now and go!â
You stared up at him, his face slightly flush, a small smile still drawing up the corners of his mouth, âI love you,â You said softly.
âI love you too,â He replied, tipping his head down to kiss you softly. Mornings like this were the most cherished, the chaste intimacy of domestic life. The innocent familiarity between the pair of you that sparked beautiful occasions such as this. It was lovely and pure and you had nothing but time.

UNUSUAL FAMILY F.A.Q
The Carlyle-Patterson family answers your questions!

The Carlyle-Patterson family: HELLO EVERYONE!
Matt: First of all, welcome to our house! We are very happy to see you!
Andy:Â Secondly, thanks for all the questions you send us! I hope it will help to know us better!
Nathan: Dads! Can we start now?
Cadeyrn: Donât be so impatient!
Isaac: Calm down, guys!
Ethan: Please, donât start a fight! People are looking at us!
Lilya: Okay! Letâs pick the first question!
Matt picks a question.
Matt: Letâs see... Ah! This question is from @marilynmonroefanfics and @onemoreparadise ! And itâs for me!
Q: Matt, how did you meet your husband?
Andrew: Ah, memories!
Matt (smiling): The best memories... Well, to answer this question, Andy and I met at university. He was studying architecture while I studied forensic sciences. One day, we bumped into each other... and since, I did not let him go!
Nathan (smirking): That is the cheesiest thing I ever heard!
Andrew: Wait until you will find your significant other, young man!
Isaac: Alright, next question (picks a paper) Here we are! This question is from @fandoms-are-my-friends-1321 !
Q: Hello! I have a question for the Unusual Family. How many of you are there?
Nathan: We are seven in this family: 2 dads and 5 children. The eldest is Cadeyrn, the second is Ethan, Isaac is the third, I am the fourth, and Lilya is the baby of the family!
Lilya (vexed): I am not a baby!
Ethan: It is just a way of speaking, Lilya.
Matt: Right! Lilya, pick the next question, please!
Lilya takes a paper and unfolds it.
Lilya: This question was asked by @marilynmonroefanfics ! Dad, Papa, itâs for you!Â
Matt & Andy: AH? WHAT IS IT?
Q:Â Matt and Andy, do you have a favorite child?
Lilya: Say itâs me!
All laugh.
Andrew: Seriously, we donât have a favorite child. We equally love them!
Matt: I agree. However, some share our characters. For example, Cadeyrn & Isaac have a lot of common points with me whereas Ethan and Nathan share more traits with Andy! As for Lilya, she is the balance between us!
Lilya (grins): INDEED!
Nathan: Okay! Now, I pick the next question (takes a paper). What he have here? Ah ah! Itâs from @redrosewritingsstuff ! Letâs see...
Q:Â Hiya! I wanted to ask the fam on what is their favorite activity as a family? luv u allđđ
Lilya: They are nice!
Nathan: I agree!
Cadeyrn: Well, we do a lot of things together during the week-ends or our free time. We watch movies, go out for a walk, play some board games, talking...
Lilya: Cooking too!
Ethan: Yeah, youâre right! We often bake some cakes on Saturdays!
Isaac: Now, letâs pick the next question!
Andy picks the question.
Andy: Ah, another question from @marilynmonroefanfics ! Letâs see...
Q:Â Have your children ever walked on you when you were (f*ckin)?
Matt & Andy: WHAT?
The kids laugh.
Matt (facepalming): I should have know there will be question like that!
Cadeyrn (smirking): So, are you going to answer this question or not?
Andrew: As if we have the choice! Well, to be honest, when Matt and I want to have an intimate moment, we try to be discreet and manage to do it when the children are not here. Besides, the walls are pretty thick, so...
Nathan: Just in case, for the safety of our ears, we always had earplugs in our bedrooms. So, when I feel things are getting hot between my dads, I scream âOPERATION EARPLUGSâ. So, we can spend a quiet night and we donât end up traumatized!
Isaac: And it is quite efficient!
Andy: Now, can we have another question? It is getting embarrassing, now!
Cadeyrn: Alright! I choose the next question! (picks the question) This time, it is @empress-writes !
Q:Â Who cheats on family game night?
Lilya, Cadeyrn, Isaac, and Ethan: NATHAN!
Nathan: What? No! (grins) Well, maybe sometimes...
Ethan: Our dear brother likes to play with the rules!
Nathan: Itâs just for liven things up!Â
Matt: Calm down, kids, and letâs answer the next question!
Andy: Let me see: I wish to not answer a embarrassing question... Ah, what @onemoreparadise wants to know about us?
Q: How is the financial situation of the family?
Andy: Interesting question... Well, my dear, we may not be the wealthiest citizens of the city, but we have a comfortable situation. Matthew and I have a good salary, so it is helpful!
Isaac: It explains why we are often spoiled at our birthdays or Christmas!
Lilya: Next question, please!
Matt: Oh, oh! Another from @marilynmonroefanfics ! I dread what will be the question!
Q:Â Andy, how would you describe the taste of Matt's lips?
Matt (grinning): Tell me, honey... How do my lips taste?
Cadeyrn, Ethan, Isaac, Nathan & Lilya: YUCK! THATâS GROSS!
Andy (facepalming): Why itâs always me who has the most embarrassing questions? (sighs) Nevermind!
Ethan: Dad, people wait for your answer...
Andy: I know, I know! (thinks) Well, I would describe the taste of my husband like a mixture of coffee, cherry, and lime! They are soft, but a bit rough sometimes!
Matt: I am flattered!
Nathan: NEXT, PLEASE!
Andy: Nathan, donât scream!
Nathan: Sorry, dad!
Isaac: And now, we have a question from... @fandomgirl800â ! And itâs for Cadeyrn and Lilya!
Q:Â Hello Carlyle-Patterson family! đ I hope you are all doing well!I would like to ask Lilya and Cadeyrn : What is your favorite food?
Cadeyrn: Hmmm... Excellent question! Well, I would say that my favorite food is pizza!
Lilya: As for me, it is spaghetti cabornara!
Nathan: Right... Letâs see... Oh oh!
Matt: Whatâs going on?
Nathan: Unfortunately, you have another question from @marilynmonroefanficsâ !
Matt & Andy: AGAIN?
Andy: Let me read it first... (becomes pale) Matt, look at it...
Matt: What?Â
Q: Matt, do you have a favourite kink? Andy, do you have a favourite position? Do you two own s*x toys?
Matt: Kids, cover your ears, please!
All covered their ears.
Matt: Right... To answer your question, no, I donât have a favourite kink. However, I find Andy extremely sexy when he wears a tie...
Andy (blushing): Stop that!
Matt: It is the truth!
Andy (smiling): If you say so... As for me, I donât have a favourite position. I am often the sub one, if you know what I mean. Sometimes, we switch positions. And for answering the last question!
Andy & Matt: NO, WE DONâT OWN S*X TOYS!
Matt (smirking): Weâre too old to play with toys!
Andy (rolling his eyes): Did you really need to say that?
Matt: Being precise is important, darling! Children, you can uncover your ears!
Isaac: About time!Â
Ethan: Oh my! We forgot the other questions from @fandomgirl800â !
Cadeyrn: Letâs read them!
Ethan: They are also for you and Lilya!
Cadeyrn & Lilya: REALLY?
Q:Â What is your dream job?If you could choose family vacation spot, which one would you choose?
Cadeyrn: Uh, what a good question... I want to be an animator after my studies: I love creating and animating short stories on my computer. For the holiday spot, I would choose the South of France: it is sunny and there is lot of nice places!
Lilya: When I grow up, I want to be a music teacher, because it is funny and I love playing music instruments! For holidays, I really want to go to Kenya: I really want to see the animals!
Nathan: Really interesting. At least, we have ideas for our next holidays!
Isaac: Er, guys... We have another question from @marilynmonroefanficsâ !
All: WHAT? AGAIN?
Q:Â Andy, do you have a talent no-one know about?
Andy: At least a nice question! Well, my special talent is... I know how to play guitar and I am a skilled biker!
The kids: REALLY? COOL!
Matt: And you only tell me that now? We could went for a ride!
Andy: But itâs never too late...
Nathan: Sounds like you have plan for the week-end...

FEATURE: Every Thing You Need to Know About That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Before Season 2
*Season 2 of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime kicks off on January 12, 2021, so be sure to catch up on all of the previous episodes here.*
Whether you prefer your âreincarnated in a parallel worldâ fantasy adventures in light novel, manga, or anime form, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime has got you covered, and since the TV anime adaptation is returning to Japanese TV (and Crunchyroll) for a second season soon, there's no slime-time like the present to absorb a quick refresher on what makes the series such a fantastic, comedic, and dramatic success.
**Take heed, gentle readers, there are MASSIVE SPOILERS ahead, so read on at your own discretion.**
  The Story So Far
During a random act of violence, Mikami Satoru, a humble office worker, is fatally stabbed and his dying thoughts are interpreted as wishes for his next incarnation. He reincarnates in another world in a body that matches these wishes: a lowly slime, one of the weakest monsters around. However, with his two Unique Skills (Great Sage and Predator), he begins exploring his environment, absorbing other monsters and gaining their Skills, and quietly growing stronger.
The humble slime meets Veldora the Storm Dragon, a primordial being of immense power. The two strike up a friendship and exchange Names. Newly dubbed âRimuru Tempest,â the slime agrees to help Veldora escape his centuries-long imprisonment by absorbing the dragon and studying the magical seal, Unlimited Imprisonment, that was placed upon Veldora by the Hero.
Veldora's disappearance sparks huge consequences because the Storm Dragon is no longer able to protect the Great Forest of Jura, which he claimed as his territory. The monsters of the forest scramble to establish a new pecking order while neighboring nations investigate, and Rimuru â through random acts of kindness â finds himself responsible for protecting a growing new nation of demihumans such as Goblins, Ogres, Orcs, and Lizardmen.
Along the way, Rimuru befriends Humans and Dwarves and draws the attention of the powerful Demon Lords. The humble slime also comforts a dying hero, Shizue Izawa, and inherits her will and the ability to mimic a human form. After foiling the Demon Lords' plots to unleash the Orc Disaster and Charybdis â beings of world-shaking power â the first season concludes with Rimuru rescuing Shizue's students from certain death and returning home to lead the fledgling nation known as the Jura Tempest Federation.
 The Ways of Another World
  Magic and Magicules
The world of That Time That I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is a high fantasy setting in which magic is ever-present, powered by microscopic magical particles known as âmagicules.â Beings of great power â such as Demon Lords, human Heroes, and Veldora â also possess intense concentrations of magicules, and using their Skills depletes their magicule reserves, which take time to replenish.
  Names and Skills
The inhabitants of this magical world (including Rimuru) demonstrate uncanny abilities known as Skills, which allow them to perform magical feats that defy the conventional laws of physics. Extra Skills and Unique Skills are more powerful, and different Skills can be combined into new Skills with greater potency.
For monsters, possessing a Name conveys great power, potentially granting new Skills and/or causing the monster to evolve into a new form. For example, when he receives the name of âGeldâ from the majin Gelmud, the leader of the Orcs is promoted to Orc King and gains the âStarvedâ skill.
  Demon Lords
Towering above most other beings are the Demon Lords, a group of inscrutable beings of immense physical and magical power. Some Demon Lords are malevolent, while others are less openly hostile, but all of them possess strength that is capable of re-shaping the world. It is possible for a less powerful being to become a Demon Lord, a process which Ramiris describes as a âfall from grace,â although the exact process of creating a new Demon Lord has not yet been fully revealed.
 Dramatis Personae
  Heroes
Rimuru Tempest â the protagonist of the show, a humble general contractor turned super-humanly powerful slime. Rimuru's âGreat Sageâ and âPredatorâ Unique Skills allow him to absorb and analyze practically anything.
Veldora Tempest â a primordial Storm Dragon, Veldora Tempest is currently tucked safely within a pocket dimension inside Rimuru's stomach while the two of them attempt to undo the Unlimited Imprisonment seal that was placed upon the dragon. Veldora's absence from the material world kicks off the events that eventually lead to the formation of the Jura Tempest Federation.
Shizue Izawa, aka Shizu â a hero known as the âConqueror of Flamesâ, Shizue was summoned to this world by the Demon Lord Leon Cromwell and bonded with the superior spirit, Ifrit, granting her the power to control flames. Shizue eventually dies of old age, but she passes on her will, memories, and appearance to Rimuru, who absorbs her as her final request.
Ranga â formerly a Direwolf, Ranga evolves into a Star Tempest Wolf through his service to Rimuru. Ranga leads his pack and serves as Rimuru's primary bodyguard, and he is a very good boy, yes he is.
The Goblins â After being granted names and evolving into Hobgoblins and Goblinas, the inhabitants of Goblin Village along with their Direwolf companions are the first ones to band together under Rimuru, eventually transforming their humble rural village into a mighty nation.
The Ogres â Although few in number after their village is slaughtered during the Orc invasion, when granted names the Ogres evolve into Kijin and voluntarily choose to serve under Rimuru, finding a strong sense of purpose in their new roles as warriors, spies, and court advisors.
The Lizardmen â A proud, swamp-dwelling people, the Lizardmen evolve into Dragonewts after Rimuru saves them from the Orc invasion and grants them names. They use their fishing, hunting, and gathering skills to provide food-stuffs for the Jura Tempest Federation, and key members such as Gabiru and his sister Soka also help with research and espionage, respectively.
The Dwarves â Led by the Hero King Gazel Dwargo, the Dwarves of the kingdom of Dwargon are a sturdy and industrious people. After an initial misunderstanding, Rimuru gains the aid of Kaijin, a master craftsman, and Vesta, a brilliant researcher, as well as the three brother artisans Garm, Dold, and Myrd, who all take prestigious positions in Rimuru's capital city.
The Orcs â After Rimuru brings the Orc invasion to an end by absorbing the Orc Disaster Geld, the Orcs are allowed to join the Jura Tempest Federation under the leadership of Geld's son, who inherits his father's name. With their great strength and physical endurance, the Orcs provide an excellent labor force, building roads and aqueducts for the Jura Tempest Federation.
Demon Lord Milim â One of the most physically strong Demon Lords in existence, Milim surveys the Jura Tempest Federation out of idle curiosity and ends up befriending Rimuru, who keeps her volatile, childish personality mollified with snacks, sweets, and plenty of praise.
The Free Union Guild â An organization of adventurers based in the neighboring country of Ingrassia, the Free Union Guild is led by Grandmaster Yuuki Kagurazaka, another transplant from Japan. Rimuru wins Yuuki over with the power of pop culture: an unlimited supply of manga drawn from Rimuru's memories, and so the Jura Tempest Federation and the Free Union Guild remain on good terms.
Shizue's Students â Kenya Misaki, Ryota Sekiguchi, Gale Gibson, Alice Rondo, and Chloe Aubert are children who were summoned to this world from Earth, but their small bodies can't contain the magical energies bonded to their souls by the summoning process. With the help of Demon Lord Ramiris, Rimuru saves their lives by encouraging superior spirits to dwell within the children, allowing them to regulate their powers and fulfilling Shizue's dream of protecting them.
  Villains
Demon Lord Leon Cromwell â Formerly a human summoned to this world to act as a Hero, Demon Lord Leon Cromwell is in turn responsible for summoning Shizue Izawa and bonding her with Ifrit. His current whereabouts and plans are unknown, although he and Rimuru seem destined to clash.
Demon Lord Clayman â A manipulative schemer responsible for unleashing the Orc Disaster on the Great Forest of Jura, Clayman's current plans have been foiled by the intervention of Rimuru, but the Demon Lord seems unconcerned with this defeat and has plenty of other plots at his disposal.
The Moderate Harlequin Alliance â Mysterious masked beings that claim to be an independent faction, the Moderate Harlequin Alliance were last seen doing Clayman's bidding and manipulating Phobio, an underling of Demon Lord Carrion, into unleashing Charybdis upon the world. Never trust a clown in a face mask.
The Orc Disaster â A tragic figure driven by unquenchable hunger, Geld the Orc Disaster was an Orc King who was manipulated into invading the Great Forest of Jura in an effort to artificially create a new Demon Lord. When Rimuru defeats and absorbs the Orc Disaster, the intrepid slime also agrees to take on the responsibility of looking after the Orcish people.
Charybdis â A Calamity-class monster resurrected by Phobio at the urging of the Moderate Harlequin Alliance, this flying creature seemed unstoppable when it challenged the combined forces of the Jura Tempest Federation and a contingent of pegasus riders on loan from Dwargon...that is, it seemed unstoppable until Demon Lord Milim took it out with a single hit.
  Rimuru's Skills
 Black Flame (Extra Skill)
Black Lightning
Body Armor (from absorbing an Armorsaurus)
Body Double (from absorbing Ifrit)
Drain (from absorbing a Giant Bat)
Degenerate (from absorbing Shizue)
Electric Current Resistance
Great Sage (Extra, Unique Skill)
Magic Sense (Extra Skill)
Mimic > Human (from absorbing Shizue)
Pain Nullification
Paralysis Breath (from absorbing an Evil Centipede)
Paralysis Resistance
Physical Attack Resistance
Poisonous Breath (from absorbing a Black Serpent)
Predator (Unique Skill)
Self-Regeneration (Species Skill)
Sense Heat Source (from absorbing a Black Serpent)
Stab Resistance
Steel Thread (from absorbing a Black Spider)
Sticky Thread (from absorbing a Black Spider)
Thermal Fluctuation Resistance (combined from Heat and Cold Resistances)
Ultrasonic Wave (from absorbing a Giant Bat)
Water Manipulation (Extra Skill, combined from Water Blade, Water Movement, and Water Pressure Propulsion skills)
And there you have it, a primer for the first season of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime that would make even Great Sage envious. In a genre full of angsty anti-heroes, Rimuru's cheerful nature, their humbleness and humility despite their overwhelming strength, and their desire to solve conflicts through cooperation and kindness are a welcome change of pace. We're happy to have a second helping soon!
Are you ready for another round of Rimuru gobbling up the competition and generally proving that they are ânot a bad slime?â Be sure to let us know in the comment section below!

Greenhouse construction in Kenya
greenhouse construction in Kenya has been a lucrative business though many farmers make minor mistakes which can be corrected
Over the last couple of years, the world has been facing a global food crisis, and Kenya is no exception. The food insecurity in Kenya has been accelerated by drought and famine. That notwithstanding, the climate has changed drastically, and itâs mainly characterized by dry seasons. Such situations lead to most farmers suffering because of poor soil nutrition and water shortages, which are poor conditions for food production. As a result, farmers are now looking towards greenhouse construction in Kenya to allow them to grow crops during both wet and dry seasons.
Greenhouses have proven an effective alternative to increase productivity for both small scale and large scale farmers. Besides, greenhouses can help improve their livelihoods and promote food security in Kenya. Farmers can construct either plastic-covered or permanent glass greenhouses that create a suitable environment for growing healthy crops all year round. The growth of crops in these structures is promoted by good irrigation systems, plus the temperature is mechanically controlled.
The benefits of growing plants in a greenhouse
Over time, farmers have come to realize that there are plenty of benefits of growing plants in a greenhouse, especially with the uncertainty in climate change lately. However, before you carry out your greenhouse construction in Kenya, you have to conduct adequate research to ensure that you will reap some of the following benefits.
A greenhouse delivers an extended growing season
There are consistency and reliability in food production
You can plant a variety of crops in a greenhouse
It allows you to control the growth environment, humidity levels, and soil easily
A greenhouse makes it easy for you to control insect and animal infestation
Decide whether you need to buy or build a greenhouse in kenya
When you set your mind to do greenhouse farming, you need to consider if a building or buying a structure is the right way to go. But first, you need to consider where you wish to place your greenhouse to establish if you have adequate space to grow the crop that you want.
However, before you come to the decision of whether to buy or carry out greenhouse construction in Kenya, you have to ask yourself a couple of things. First, you need the type and variety of plants that you wish to grow in your greenhouse and the space that they will require. Additionally, you need to consider if you have a tree nearby that can provide shade and if it sheds its leaves during certain seasons.
You also need to consider the material to use in the construction; particularly, the foundation. Moreover, you need to asses if the soil in the space that you have has good drainage or whether you need to come up with a water recycling system. That notwithstanding, you need to know if the area where you would like to set up your greenhouse has adequate water and if there is electrical connectivity within the area.
Most importantly, you need to consider your budget, and then decide which option works best for you. Building or buying? Apart from the cost, you need to know that greenhouses need to be constructed in a particular way to ensure that your crops will grow as expected. You have to position your greenhouse where it will receive optimal sunlight exposure during the day. It is recommended that greenhouses receive about 6 hours of sunlight every day.
Apart from the natural light from the sun, you must also install energy-efficient lights when it comes to greenhouse construction in Kenya. Before you decide between buying and building your greenhouse, you must also consider the design of the greenhouse. Do you want an all-in-one structure, or do you want a greenhouse that features your own design? If it is the latter, then youâre better off building your own structure. You can also customize it to suit your specific requirements.
However, if you are looking to establish it as a side business, then you are better off buying an already-established structure. Interestingly, there are various companies in Kenya that lease greenhouses to interested parties for a certain period. Some of those who have ventured into this business claim that it is quite profitable. Although these are just claims.
How to get started in greenhouse construction in Kenya
When you decide whether to buy or build your greenhouse, youâve already figured out the space that you require to grow the crop you have in mind. Itâs crucial that you consider your greenhouse as a long-term investment. Consequently, you need to have adequate space that will accommodate the plants that you would like to grow in the years ahead. Greenhouse construction in Kenya also needs to match up to the type of plant you wish to grow. For instance, if you wish to grow vegetables, your greenhouse should have a lot of headroom, plus it needs to receive maximum light.
You also have to decide on the style of the greenhouse that you want. There exist several styles, and some can even get built in one day. Here are some of the different styles that you could settle for based on your budget limits and needs.
Freestanding greenhouses â such types of greenhouses are stand-alone structures; therefore, you can place these structures where you would like on your property, but you have to ensure that the position you place your structure receives enough lighting. You can grow plenty of plants in this type of greenhouses, and you can start growing your plants as early as January.
Attached/lean-to greenhouses â you could also go for this style of greenhouses. Such greenhouses donât require you to build all the four walls. However, one of the walls needs to be sturdy such as the wall of your house so that you can construct the three remaining sides to be lighter.
Due to their construction design, attached greenhouses are less expensive to construct compared to other styles. You can use such structured to grow seedlings and herbs. A major downside with the attached greenhouses is that sunlight only comes in from three sides.
Your greenhouse construction in Kenya should feature one of these styles, but thatâs entirely dependent on the crop(s) that you would like to grow. It is also recommended that you refrain from building your greenhouse near coniferous trees. Those are trees that donât shed their leaves during the cold season in Kenya, blocking the little sunlight that is available.
You can also place your greenhouse structure on any surface. However, you have to ensure that you construct it in an area that has good drainage. You can place a layer of landscape cloth where you intend to place your greenhouse. Doing so not only allows proper drainage but also keeps the weeds out.
Greenhouse accessories for greenhouse construction in kenya
Apart from the frame and exterior structure of the greenhouse, you need to know that there are accessories that have to go into a greenhouse to ensure that your crops grow as you would like. However, the accessories you put greatly depend on your budget allocations as they could get pricey at times.
You need to consider what you really need in your greenhouse, and the accessories that you could place during your greenhouse construction in Kenya include a heating system, automatic vents, shelving, a fan, a mist system, and a rack among other accessories.
How do you prepare for your first growing season
Now that youâve already set up your greenhouse, including the accessories you want, you have to prepare for the growing season, but that also depends on the type of plant that you would like to grow in your greenhouse.
If it is your first time dealing with a greenhouse, then you need to start off with straight-forward crops instead of going for complicated crops without the experience. You will find that most greenhouse farmers in Kenya start with vegetables such as tomatoes, carrots, leafy greens, and turnips among others. It is also advisable for you to group together plants that have a similar growth cycle so that you can organize your planting season accordingly.
You should also know that not all the seeds that you plant will germinate. Thatâs why it is advisable for you to plant more seeds than you would expect to grow. Doing so will help you save a significant amount of time, which you would otherwise spend transplanting. On the other hand, if you are planting crops that climb vertically such as tomatoes, then you need to plant them on a raised platform on your greenhouseâs floor. A bench could also serve as a suitable alternative.
Pesticides
Usually, experts advise against using pesticides in greenhouses as they could compromise the quality of produce, but there are some greenhouse owners who still use pesticides. Instead of using pesticides, you need to ensure that your greenhouse construction in Kenya is done to perfection. A well-constructed greenhouse has measures in place to prevent entry by pests.
You can install insect screens on the exhausts and air intakes of your greenhouse to prevent insects and or mites from getting into your greenhouse. Furthermore, you need to ensure that the equipment you use in your greenhouse isnât used anywhere else to prevent cross-contamination, which could result in the presence of insects and diseases in your structure.
Fertilizer
A majority of greenhouse owners in Kenya prefer using organic fertilizers as opposed to manufactured products. If you find natural fertilizer, then youâre in a better position. However, there are some situations where you may need to get manufactured fertilizer to deliver the nutrients your crops need.
Environmental control
Greenhouse construction in Kenya should never be done without considering environmental control. You must keep in mind that a greenhouse is a place where you grow your crops under a controlled environment. One of the things you need to do in your greenhouse is heating. You have to insulate your greenhouse to ensure that your crops receive the heat they need even when there is no sunlight. You can find different types of heaters available, which are powered by different means. You must also ensure that the heating system in your greenhouse has an automatic shut-off feature.
Shading is also a requirement when it comes to greenhouses. Shade comes in handy when the sun is too warm and it is hitting the greenhouse directly. You can get roll-up screens of aluminum or wood, polypropylene shade cloth, or paint-on materials to provide the necessary shading during such times.
Your greenhouse must also have proper ventilation. Why is ventilation so important? Well, it is because plants also get hot, and the vents will allow proper circulation of air, preventing any damage from coming to your plants. Proper ventilation also minimizes t
