I'm making a 3D Tower Defense, but you can not only place towers butalso the ground where you place the towers on. Each ground has modiferthat alters all towers that are placed on. This can be splash, moreattackspeed, range or switching the damage type etc.
After each wave you can choose one groundtile as a reward but thisdecision also comes with a modifier for the next enemy wave, like fasterenemies, or they heal each other, they are immune to some damage etc.
I've also added an endless mode with steam leaderboards.
If you want to support me you can wishlist here:

DEV BLOG 17 - Code
03.09.19
Missed last two Fridays to update dev blog, mostly because recording gifs of my progress would take too long in class, especially with the demo presentations. No gifs in this post (unless I’ll edit them in later), for the same reason as that it will take too long and we have 2 weeks before the alpha.
What has been accomplished since last dev blog update:
CODE
The enemies received an overhaul. I created a basic enemy script that allows for multiple different states, and this I can duplicate and change up depending on the enemy. Eight different enemy types have been created and put together, currently using placeholder assets and animations. They all have adjustable statistics, such as health, speed, stopping distance within range of player.
Next up, followed a tutorial on projectile spawning, now every enemy can spawn multiple projectiles, and different angles. Very happy with this, as now I can make unique variants of enemies that will be more challenging, and add to the difficulty. This new projectile code also uses an object pool, a simple one that currently accommodates one object. With this new code, I can’t put it on the player yet or use more than one projectile because the object pool holds one object, the enemy bullet.
The new code also doesn’t allow for projectile scatter anymore, which should be fixed.
I also attempted some other code, trying a couple things: One, to get one of the enemies predicting the player’s movement as they are moving - so the enemy shoots directly at the player if the player is standing still, and in front of where the player is moving towards if the player is currently moving. Two, a different enemy type that fires a constant laser instead of bullet type projectile. Had issues with freezing the gun and/or rotating the laser. Both attempts were scrapped.
ART
I took some time at home to concept some enemies, including the railgun turtle, the small fusebomb mushroom, and a new mushroom jellyfish for the radial projectile type. In the images attached, I pixelled the mushroom jellyfish design.
PLANNING
For the next 2 weeks in preparation for the alpha, I’ve sorted out my priorities in what I need to do, in order of importance:
AI Wave Manager/Spawner: Based on Timer Level Blockout/Limit ________________________________________________________________
2 Tiles: Wasteland, Grassland Player Gun upgrades in increments of 1 on every enemy death Menu & Pause Menu ________________________________________________________________
Player deathsplosion and groundtile change increases with upgrade Switching PlayerGuns that upgrade or change stats Player Design

good news, it was not hard to replace the ground tiles with the tilemap and there were only two lines of code specifically pertaining to the old groundtiles i had to replace so it didn’t fuck up the programming at all
hmmm today i will learn how to do tilemaps in construct 2 and realize I made life infinitely harder on myself by not doing this for my ground tiles initially and now have to redo them and probably also go through and fix my event sheet once i redo them

Orange Grapefruits
Orange grapefruits grew from the orangegrapefruit tree. The sky was nearly blank of birds. The heavy warmth of the desert pressed into the ground and burned brightly on the terra cotta tiles. Not wanting to waffleiron our feet, we stayed in the shade and played chess.
Each move was carefully considered nonsense. We played without skill. Pieces moved as if at random, their purpose disguised by a lack of strategy. A few minutes passed between moves. Checkmate remained far in the distance, further even than the scarce preybirds that circled out of view.
Her hair was pulled back in a red bandana, her skin slightly flushed with the beginnings of a sunburn. Behind the glass sliding door leading to the patio, both cats watched closely and meowed to be let out where they could roll in the hot grass and chew upon strange things.
Chess pieces became an entangled mesh of en prise, protected not by allied pieces but by lack of aggression or intent. Slowly the entire board became demilitarized as our unspoken detente ground progress to a halt. Evolution turned to a slow writhing of wooden analogs between squares following simple rules of movement but showing no evidence of intelligent design. Our unwritten kifu became a chaotic but beautiful dance choreographing the peaceful motions. Beyond the painted cinder block wall fencing the small yard, smoke rose in thin trails from the mountains as wild shrubberies burst into flames.
Eventually, the color began to drain from the sky, just as with anything left in the desert sun. Black ink seeped into the celestial fibers and the sharp silhouettes protecting us started to blend into the surrounding groundtiles. Still no progress was made. Our dance continued into the night as the stars overhead wearily awoke from hiding and resumed their journey toward an endless west. The nightbirds prowled the skies in silence. Oblivious, our pieces continued to dance.
Finally, the sliding door opened. The white cat pranced happily toward the thin patch of grass beyond the patio. The orange cat watched cautiously from the doorframe.
"Are you still playing?" a voice came from the door.
Neither of us looked up.
