I wanna lock Petro in a room with my own grim oc, Peregrine, who's favorite thing in the world is relentlessly psychoanalyzing ppl he doesn't like. Either they'd spend the whole time trying to outdo each other in the "you're a shitty person just admit it" olympics, or Petro would just opt for the quick-and-dirty route and make a grab for the steak knives, but it would at least be entertaining either way

I think at first, Petro would get into the "haha you suck" competition and would spend his time trying to mentally undermine Peregrine, but he'd get bored/frustrated pretty quick when this guy starts psychoanalyzing him back (annoying!), and honestly, this is SUCH a waste of time, they've been locked in a room! The person who locked them up is still out there! So he'd kill or knock him out to shut him up and then start looking for a way out.

hi! anon who made achilles back again <3 did i ever tell you i have a second, much less thought out golden guard oc?

his names damien. he was a golden guard during modern times. he found out belos’s plans and immediately booked it b4 belos could even find out what happened. was on the run from the EC for a while before running into a freshly-cursed eda at some point and convinced her to let him go thru the portal to the human realm. actually managed to build a new life there and is very happy. he has a small business selling antiques. he even has a husband and kiddo (both whose names are tbd atm)

im not sure how he would even end up meeting the gilded fam, but i can imagine hed take one look at them and his Dad Instincts would kick in. hes too old to accept caleb and evelyns parenting (hes rapidly approaching his 50s in the present day), but he’ll happily lend a hand in taking care of the rest of the family (smth im sure caleb and evelyn are very thankful for)

im sure thered be a bit of awkwardness at first (damien would kind of be the first and only grimwalker they ever “lost”), and hed struggle a bit w/ connecting to them at first and not feeling like hes truly included in the family. but hes also a very comforting and reliable presence, and hes got a lot of funny stories to tell from his shenanigans in the human realm, so im sure hed endear himself quickly to the family

i wonder how caleb and evelyn feel abt being grandparents. damien would absolutely take his kiddo to meet their extended family (and plan playdates with ghost). he might even bring his husband over too, once he explains the whole grimwalker situation to him. i just think there should be at least One grimwalker thats well-adjusted and relatively un-traumatized yknow

Wellllllll, Evelyn and Caleb are in their late 30s, early forties, so. Somewhat akin to your great times a bunch grandaughter being older than you, or the kid you mentored being close to twice your age now. There's a lot of that going around for everyone 😅

Yeah, that would definitely be a... weird... experience for everyone involved. But, hey, yeah, playdates with Ghost!!! They need to hang out with people closer to their age!!!!

I can imagine Jason being the one to find him, just while he's in the human realm they see each other and start spiderman pointing. After everything's over in the demon realm, he can introduce Damien to the rest of the fam! and there would be a liaison of "guy who already knows the guy" to smooth over awkwardness.

Just read that Wik Hunter crossover. It gave me an idea: Phoenix and Wik could certainly share some stories and information with each other. Like how to deal with if a loved one had a really really bad experience with the curse or how often the elixirs have to be taken. How to calm down when the goop is already dropping from the skin. It's less extreme for Phoenix because it's only on his arms (did I get that right?) but I am sure he would like some advice anyway

Someone who has experience with the curse that ISN'T Belos? Sign Phoenix up for a meeting immediately! He'll take any advice to manage this (well, you know, short of eating palisman)! Probably would be a pretty one sided exchange of information, though, Phoenix doesn't exactly have much in the way of advice to offer. He's pretty spectacularly horrible at managing it so far.

I've got a grimwalker oc named Barley, he's one of the older ones (about 22ish) and he's very fond of plants :) he was around when Terra Snapdragon was first appointed coven head, and he looked up to her a lot, in a "you scare me shitless but I respect your knowledge" kinda way.

I don't think his death was really over anything specific, Belos was just in a nasty mood and needed a punching bag (though I think later he would rationalize it to himself as Barley being too "soft", spending more time with plants and being generally pacifistic) though I might change it later. Either way, his throat was slit and he was left to bleed out.

In your gilded universe, I don't think it would outwardly bother him very much. Yeah it was scary, but he's ok now, isn't he? (Repression.jpeg) Mostly he's just upset he can't sing to his plants as often as he used to :( I think he'd get along with Mole really well! Two quiet boys playin in the dirt together :3 he'd butt heads with Dagger and the revenge squad pretty often, though. Mr. "No Violence Whatsoever" vs. "We all deal with our anger through taking it out on other things in various ways"? Yeah, not pretty. He'd be pretty protective of all the younger Grims too, regardless of martial prowess. He is determined to win the Best Older Brother Ever award, something that is normal to want and possible to achieve.

So sorry for all this text D:! I've been thinkin about this guy for a while and I like to imagine how he'd interact with other Grims if given the chance :3

And oh boy, does Phoenix have some stories about Terra for him! They will either scare him more, or make him less scared of her. Depending on the story.

Have to work soon but Marcus is oblivious to the scheme. He genuinely thinks Dagger is just pissed and slowly lessens the distance he goes from the house. Still out of Revenge Squad's area tho.

Though when he does stick to the house for longer than a week, he gets really antsy and anxious. Will also take things Very personally like if someone accidentally moves something of his or if he says something and no one hears it.

It's just easier for him to disappear on hunts. The one time he stayed longer than a month, he was gone for two and while he was gone he took down an entire Wyvern colony.

Marcus is like a cat destroying the local ecosystem, lol.

Caleb and Evelyn definitely GET that he gets antsy and anxious and that maybe the house isn't the best option, but also, like. Buddy. Can't kill EVERYTHING, regardless of whose "turf" you are or are not in. The Revenge Squad hunts, but they're very sustainable about it, and they keep the local wildlife in manageable/reproductive populations, rather than just killing everything (there are some exceptions, but only for HUGE safety issues). Evelyn is DEFINITELY going to take some issue with him wiping out a whole wyvern colony. They'd probably try to build him a treehouse, or get some good camping gear so that he can stay outside and have his own space where no one is allowed, but also try to get him to mayyyyyybe hunt not quite so intensely.

thinking abt a what if scenario where my golden guard oc was inducted into the gilded fam (bc you said it was ok to write abt them interacting). first off, his name was achilles, he lived during a time where belos was still trying to gain power, so he ended up doing a lot of bad stuff for him. like. “killing entire villages to end a rebellion” levels of bad. in terms of personality, he was a very honor-obsessed, noble, knightly type. bc of this, he didnt question belos like. at all. and while he did not enjoy the atrocities he was committing, he thought they were necessary and done for a reason. “the ends justify the means” sort of situation yknow

naturally, you can expect him to not react well when he accidentally finds out what the day of unity Actually entails, and goes and violently confronts belos abt it. they fight, achilles gets the upper hand and wrongfully assumes belos is dead, belos doesnt die for anything tho and cuts his achilles tendon as hes walking away and finishes him off

i imagine that suddenly waking up in the gilded house would. kind of actively make his mental health worse. suddenly having to live with the knowledge that everything he did was ultimately in vain would eat him alive. physically, hed have one of the easier recoveries, he has a limp and a lot of stab wounds & bruises, but its not the worst evelyn has seen. mentally, hes kind of on a downward spiral from minute 1. he feels incredibly guilty abt all the crimes hes committed and all the people hes killed, and he wishes that both belos and himself had died back then. he could absolutely be convinced to stay at the house and even bond with the others, but this is something hes never going to forgive himself for. or at the very least, he wouldnt get to that point in recovery for a WHILE

theres also the issue that theyd kinda have to break him from a soldier mindset (but i imagine hes hardly unique in that experience). like he thinks his life doesnt matter and can be thrown away for anything. he immediately clocks caleb and evelyn as the ultimate authority in the household and treats every request and question from them like an order that hes not allowed to disobey. which would cause some obvious problems. he even bows to them in their first meeting. which they wouldnt like for obvious reasons. hed definitely need to learn to have Some self worth and learn that hes allowed to make choices for himself. hed treat being asked to help in the kitchen with the same deathly seriousness as if he was being ordered to the frontlines in a war

tbh i could actually see him getting along well with jason. he doesnt understand Everything he talks abt, but he does genuinely enjoy hearing abt noble heroes vanquishing monsters and all the other stuff from his books. i could even see jason suggesting the name achilles to him in the first place (id say what his dynamic would be w/ the others, but its been a while since i read the fic n i dont remember their personalities that well)

uhhh. thats kinda all i got to tell you abt the mental rabbit hole i just went down. um. he knows how to swordfight too and would gladly teach the others if they wanted to learn. what do you think of this? sorry for this ask being an absolute wall of text btw

Hmmmmm I think he and Cherry would... idk, not "get along" per se (in a "besties" sense), but just. "Same trauma!!! I've done some stuff that I am very not proud of and oh gosh I was a monster!!!" bonding. Despite being from VERY different time periods. That, and he and Petro would both have the "big help in the rise to power" similarity.

Jason would absolutely go sparkle-eyed infodump on him the instant he said something about heroes. I hope Achilles is ready for the whole Illiad to learn about his namesake, because Jason is going to recite it for him. As was initially intended by the text.

I assure you, you will come to regret giving him spraypaint because it will be EVERYWHERE. He's the 'ask forgiveness, not permission' type (Pretty sure the reason Belos didn't murk him earlier is cause of limited resources like Galderstones)

Also! With Marcus' expertise in hunting large beasts Belos absolutely had him unknowingly collecting the components needed to replace him.

Anyway, that aside I'm m curious about the grims who would relate to him!

If my runaway grimwalker were in the Gilded universe, would the others track him down or let him live out his life hidden from Belos?

Even if they DID track him down, they'd just give him the option to come to the gilded household, they wouldn't make him do anything. If he's in good health and escaped from Belos on his own, there's now reason to! They'd offer a place to stay with other people who understand what he's going through and what he is, but he could do whatever.

That being said, I think they probably WOULD track him down, just to make sure he's okay, and not like. Starving in a cave somewhere, or dying or anything. But if he seemed to be doing alright and wasn't in any danger, they might not even approach, because why bug him if he's happy?

Marcus is banned from being anywhere near the Griffins as well, after listing the sell price for griffin claws and beaks during his time, right in front of Joseph.

Dagger showing up like "You need to start telling someone when you leave I'm not tracking you down again" and Marcus immediately offering him a stick of jerky asking "... apology meat?"

achilles' swordfighting lessons are open to all in the gilded house, except the revenge squad, mostly bc he thinks they would injure themselves or each other trying to look cool. but theres also a small, pretentious part of him that doesnt think theyre honorable enough to wield the blade

he could be convinced to teach them, but only if they promised to be responsible w/ the things they learn. hes a stick in the mud like that

They will use their powers very responsibly. They promise to only use their new and awesome sword moves on their enemies and people who annoy them :)

I'm not sure swordfighting is a lesson too many of them would take up. Jason would, simply on the "it's cool and all the story heroes do it" principle, but a lot of them are done with fighting and learning new ways to fight.

Oh, A.T. would also want to, but I don't know if Achilles would let him remotely near the sharp objects.

He also doesn't like revenge squad much, because they use traps and shit and Marcus is very much an "I will chase this thing down" type of guy. If he were at the Gilded house he would really just disappear for a week at a time and come back with massive demons or animals like "Anyone want to cook this? Or use its parts for something??? No?? Fine, I'm selling it." Would give everyone a heart attack I'm sure.

Ohhhhhhhh look who prefers being honorable to survival 🙄 Revenge Squad doesn't care for Marcus, either. Muscling in on their role in the household. /j/

Anyway, it's the Marcus person who did the Halloween costume all that time ago! Marcus would take one look at Dagger and decide "I pick that one" then spend way too fucking long trying to befriend the fucker.

He also goes hunting since that was his main job in his time, and brings back jerky :))))
