Greta paced her office as she dictated her final thoughts on the recently unearthed subject. The remains of what the forest dwellers referred to as a ‘Guardian’ had been located by a team of Hunters and brought to the lab for analysis. Greta had hoped that there would be sufficient material for genome mapping, but as it was, carbon dating had revealed that the creature had expired centuries before and would provide only a few answers. 

“What secrets are embedded in the cellular structure of these creatures? How have they evolved from their predecessors? Further testing is needed to confirm, but the DNA  of subject Golf Uniform Alpha 179 differed only slightly from that of a Human - could these Guardians be our prehistoric cousins? Do they hold the key to unlocking our mind’s greatest potential?” Greta turned to the monitors that covered the grounds and surrounding forest, they had a wired connection setup throughout the forest but the meddling beasts smashed them every time a team moved to set them up again. 

“Kharon, place this data in with the Guardian files, make sure Hans is given access to it. He may find the bone density of these creatures interesting.” The AI of her invention did as she was told and Greta sat behind her desk, the stark white of the room seemed to burn under the fluorescent lights. The energy source they’d discovered proved to be invaluable, because of it the GRF had broken ground and built up remarkably fast. It was the power of ambition, money, and resources - time and time again the Grimms proved that anything was possible. 

She was a little surprised that Hans had not joined her for the study, the appointment had been clear and it was unlike him not to show up. Though, truthfully it had been something of a relief - Hans had brought them here to Arain but his macabre methods could be an interference, it did pose a question though - where was her brother? “Kharon. Page Dr. Grimm, let him know he’s missed our appointment. Remind him how I hate to be kept waiting.” Greta had undergone a few body modifications, among them was the integration of her AI, Kharon, into her cerebral cortex. She did not need to speak to activate Kharon’s command system, but doing so kept the prompts as linear as possible.
