#greenvehicles #motoelectrica

Norway gradually upgraded position in the world’s richest nations list after discovering huge oil and gas deposits under North Sea in the mid 60s. Despite of this fact, Norwegians seems to keen on using electric vehicles as i saw many electric stations and cars in Oslo. Tesla had its sales boom in this market as well adding up my opinion. Whereas, the electric tram system was introduced to its citizens in 1900 and still be the most reachable and efficient public transport within the capital. #electrictransport #trikkenioslo #northerneurope #nordic #bắcâu #scandinavian #norway #nauy🇳🇴 #oslo #greenvehicles #oslotram🚋 #publictransportation #oilexporter #carbonemission #eurotrip🇪🇺 #backpackingnorway #travellerpointofview (at Bydel St. Hanshaugen i Oslo kommune) https://www.instagram.com/p/B5xT4kwpubT/?igshid=ye893pm3bqi5

EV Tour Diaries: Cruising through Feni
18/06/2019 When we took off from Chittagong, it was with a lot of anxiety. This was going to be our first trip outside our comfort zone. Dhaka is home, and so is Chittagong, and by that extension Cox’s bazar. Driving to Feni was new for both of us. None of us have ever been there before! Suprisingly it was the least troublesome of our entire journey. The Chittagong highway was beautiful and because we started in mid-morning, we avoided most of the early morning bus and trucks. The road was practically empty as you can see here.
Tumblr media
But that also meant the trip was perhaps quite boring. The only thing keeping us awake was the extreme heat. It was good to have a supply of fresh ice-cold green mango juice prepared by Tauseef’s grandmother. We decided to stop by several points. This particular photo brings back a pleasant memory.
Tumblr media
Nothing beats the sight of freshly picked green vegetables. But this was also the site where we decided to take profile pictures of ours. We posed, smiled and changed positions and took so many close up photos of ours. As you can see we are just writing about it and not posting them. Turns it out when we reached Feni and checked the photos, they were nothing but sweaty and burnt faces of two people, not at all pictures you could put on your Linkedin profile (or even twitter!). So no, you won’t get to see that.  However there was another fun incident. Tauseef’s paternal family comes from Mirsarai, Chittagong. We would be crossing that town during the drive, and since the village was much deeper inside, Tauseef decided to take a picture near the entrance on the highway. And here he is:
Tumblr media
As it would happen, Tauseef completely forgot the name of the entrance area and stood in front of a completely different signboard, all excited to show this picture to his grandfather. He was supposed to stand in front of Zorargonj instead of Mithachora! We would cross Zorargonj about 10kms later!
We also keep regretting one thing. As we entered Feni town, we crossed the Doel Chattor (main circle). This picture taken from our Roof Cam was the only picture of this area. Since we reached early, we had planned to visit this place early morning (we even stayed close by). But a heavy dinner followed by missing our wake up time, we couldnt stop and enjoy this. Maybe someday we can go back and find Bangladesh’s National Bird, the Doel still in its place.

Hi, what do you think is a good option for a car in terms of less pollution and sustainability? Thanks!
this is such an impossible question that any car buyer goes over and over and over in their head!  #1. you need to buy the car you can afford.  When you look at your budget, ask maintenance costs, look at the warranty (I highly recommend certified pre-owned vehicles, that is how I roll).  When you buy a used vehicle vs new you need to really compare the costs of how long you are going to be owning it & its estimated trade-in/resale value and depending where you live, sales taxes.  Also, estimated fuel/energy costs.  (tires can be super expensive, too and not covered).  So SOMETIMES owned a new car will cost THE SAME AS a used one over the life of your ownership, so you might as well have the new one and drive the better half of it than the junkyard shift.  You have to DO THE MATH (plus insurance costs & make sure you get uninsured motorist / medical on your passengers / balloon policy in case you hit a $250k Bentley or do some other horrible damage distracted driving, which is killing so many young people these days).
Cars are doing much better environmentally.  I purchased all my cars based on the environmental impact for the last 13+ years & have really been bamboozled over it.  From cheating clean diesels to underpowered hybrids that end up in junk yards full of e-waste.  Some car companies boast that their cars are 98.5%+ recyclable.  (which also has an energy cost).
So its really hard for us consumers to make a choice just based on pollution and sustainability, because electric cars require expensive batteries and I don’ think many are willing to spend $40k in new batteries on a 10 year old Tesla when you can just go buy a brand new car with a very low cost of ownership and no repairs.  I’ve owned an electric / hybrid / clean diesel / turbo fuel efficient etc.  My next car I am buying based on having 3rd row seats (get big family and friends into one vehicle is more efficient than 2) & safety and fuel efficiency & maintenance costs.  I usually get the dealer to throw in a certain amount of maintenance in the contract, too.  I prefer buying certified pre-owned cars because I am too conscious about scratches, etc.  Would rather have car already broken in so its one less worry.
Here is the EPA Green Car Guide.  https://www.epa.gov/greenvehicles  again, make this 1 point of your purchase, not the overall, because these car companies lie and the lifecycle of this stuff is probably worse than just buying cars with better aerodynamics, lighter weight & more efficient engines.  Some non hybrids get as good or better gas milage than hybrids across the different vehicle classes.  Most of all buy for safety, we can’t afford to lose any vegans to other distracted drivers.
https://www.cdc.gov/motorvehiclesafety/distracted_driving/index.html
Each day in the United States, approximately 9 people are killed and more than 1,000 injured in crashes that are reported to involve a distracted driver.
Bluetooth features and integration into your phone (reading text messages aloud, etc are important features if you find yourself risking other’s lives while driving.
