What's something that surprised you while you were working on a fic? Did it change the story?

I completely forgot that there was a big debate in the fnaf fandom when sister location came out as to whether it was Mike or William in the springtrap suit 😂 once I’d realized that, I’d already written too much of the fic to go back and change it so we’re all pretending that the fnaf theorists in greenkling’s world are stupid
