Home for spring break, Josh was takeing engagement pictures for Krys and Kennedy and he was able to convince Jami to take a few matternity photos.

“Dad?” Krys said into the phone as soon as it stopped ringing

“Krys? Is everything OK?” The older man asked his son

“Don’t freak out but I’m at the hospital” Krys answered

“What!?!?! Are you OK? Kennedy?” Garrett answered frantically

“I’m fine actually, for the most part, everything is. I’m here with Jami. Josh texted me saying Jami was in labor I told them I would meet them here and handle crowd control

“Jami’s OK though?” Garrett said still nervous but glad no one was seriously hurt.

“She’s fine. The doctors say baby is fine too it’s just the waiting part now. We could have several hours ahead of us so I wouldn’t rush over. Kennedy’s in with her now and Josh is floating around and I’m here too so she’s not alone.”

“Where’s Roman? Does he know?” Garrett asked

“Technically he’s here too. He had to work so he’s been popping in and out for updates when he has a spare moment he’s been a huge help already with all the medical terms and stuff.” Krys said feeling quite proud of his younger brother.

“Well mom and I will start getting ready we’ll be there in about 30 minutes hug her for us,” Garrett said smiling as Jean entered the room.

“I will and you’ll be able to do it yourself when you get here,” Krys said

They each hung up the phone. “What’s going on?” Jean asked.

“We’re going to be grandparents by the end of the night” Garrett answered

“I’ve got to go. Love you too. I will. Bye.” Kennedy said hanging up the phone.

“Hey, are you OK?” Krys asked joining his girlfriend on the couch.

“I was just talking to my dads. Here check my call history” Kennedy said pushing her phone towards Krys.

“Kennedy, I don't need to check your call history,” he said handing the phone back to her. “ I trust you. But tell me what's going on? What has you on the phone with your dads at 3 am” Krys asked

“Couldn't sleep” Kennedy answered

“Okay, we're getting there… that explains being up on the couch at 3 am but it doesn't explain the phone call home”

“I guess just all the stuff with Jami… I had a little scare and I…”

“Wait… you don't think your….” Krys interrupted.

“Oh god no! Not that kind of scare! I was just feeling a little insecure about us and needed some reassurance from them that I knew what was I doing. Everything with Jami’s just starting to mess with my head. I’ll be fine.”Kennedy said

“I would never do to you what Cooper did to her. I love you, Kennedy.” Krys reassured her

“I know. She was talking to me about it today and I realized just how fragile relationships are and I got scared. Just… please don't leave me alone” Kennedy said her voice sounded so small

Krys pulled her in as close as he could. “I won't I promise”

Josh could hear the piano music in his room coming from downstairs. He knew it had to be Jami. He wandered down the stairs the music growing louder.

“It's not what I asked for

“That’s really pretty,” He said. Jami jumped at the sound of his voice. “Josh… I” she started.

“I know… I’m sorry too…” he said sitting down on the couch and tapping the seat next to him. Jami slowly got up from the piano. Josh stared. Her belly now a prominent feature.

“Look’s a little different huh..” Jami said.

“I...uhh…” Josh said still a little shocked before meeting her eyes ”Hey Don’t cry. I hate it when you cry” Josh said pulling his best friend into a hug suddenly feeling like the worst friend in the world.

“Josh… I’m so sorry...You had every right to say what you did before break… but that’s why I didn’t push the condom issue with you. You couldn’t do anything that wasn’t already done.” Jami said into his shoulder.

“Jami…. I’m sorry too…I’m guessing you're keeping it” Josh wasn’t exactly sure what answer he wanted to hear.

“I don’t know,” Jami said tears beginning to fall again “I was thinking of an abortion…” Josh pulled her closer. This decision had to suck to have to make. “But then I went and talked to Cooper…”

“You talked to Cooper? Are you OK did he try anything?” Honestly, Josh thought the kid was lucky that he hadn’t teamed up with Krys and Roman to beat his ass. He felt himself fuming at the thought of Cooper ever trying to lay a finger on Jami again.

“No… he didn’t try anything. He handed me $300 cash and told me to get rid of it.” Jami said with a laugh “Now I want to keep it. Almost just to spite him. No matter what I choose I have to live with this for the rest of my life. He shouldn’t be able to throw $300 at me and walk away like nothing happened”

“I’m sorry… If there is anything I can do to help...” Josh said

“Thank you” Jami answered “You didn’t have to show up… you didn’t have to be here. You didn’t have to let me drag you into this. At first, I was really glad this wasn’t your baby. That I wasn’t going to have to put you through this… But after having time to think about it… I really wish it was because at least you would have been there for me… for us”

“It doesn't have to be my baby for me to be there for you. I lov…. You’re my best friend Jami” Josh said “I will always be there for you”

It was few days before he heard from Jami again. He tried not worry about it but had to admit he was glad when he got her text.

“Look I was going to ease into this but I think I just need to say it. Josh, I’m pregnant” Jami led off with. Josh knew and somehow hearing the words come from Jami still came as a shock.

“I…. Is it…” Josh stammered

“No… It’s not yours. It’s Cooper’s Baby” Jami said sadly

“I mean but… are you sure… We didn’t use a condom when we slept together. There’s no way to rule me out here”

“You are not the father Josh! I’m 100% certain this baby is Cooper’s” Jami said getting frustrated

“How do you know? We didn’t use anything and considering you’re pregnant you clearly weren’t on anything…”

“Birth Control fails Josh. Just ask my parents”

“That still doesn't rule me out!” Josh practically yelled

“I was pregnant when we slept together!” Jami yelled. Josh simply stared. “I was starting to think about the possibility of it before I even caught Cooper cheating… but I wasn’t sure after everything I just kind of shoved it to the back of my mind and kept hoping that maybe just maybe it would somehow just disappear. It didn’t.” Jami said tears starting to fall “It just got worse. When Krys took me to the health center the first thing I asked them to do was run a pregnancy test. By the time I checked out it was confirmed and I was 10 weeks pregnant.”

Josh simply stared at her. “You just glossed over the fact you might be pregnant?” His voice quiet “I feel like that’s not something you just forget about”

“You don’t know Josh, you don’t know what that month was like” Jami whispered, “I was confused and upset and just trying to make sense of it…”

“Oh and I was just convenient” Josh yelled. Jami was shocked Josh was always level headed and this outburst was unusual.”I was there to take your mind off all your crap decisions and to try and pick up the broken pieces of Jami’s latest relationship failure once again! Well, I’m done!” He said grabbing his backpack and storming out.

Jami looked at her newborn son. he was beautiful and perfect. She couldn't believe he was finally here. Kodey Elliot. Everyone had made their way through seeing the newest member of the family and finally, Jami had a minute to just be alone with her son. All the emotions hit her at once the love for her new baby, the fear of trying to get through this alone. She was lucky Neal had offered her a job teaching music at the daycare center as soon as she was ready but this little boy was totally dependent on her and Jami knew she would do anything for him.
