“I love you to” Alice slips her hand into his as they walked over to the house,  laughing when they just got caught as the rain started but didn’t rush because they were close to getting inside “Well I guess we needed to cool off?” 

Even though it started to rain before they could reach the house, Will couldn’t have run even if he wanted to. By the time they reached it they weren’t all that wet anyway.  “Rain on the green grass. Rain on the tree tops. Rain on the roof tops, but not on me,” he sang quietly in her ear as he hugged her close.

Will watched her pace simply because he wasn't in a state to actually stop her from doing shit right now, but what he could do was offer her his full attention. "She hit you? Why would she do that?" he asked, shifting a little against the bundled up bag and coat behind him, but decided better leave it be and settled again. Hand on his bandage and eyes on her.
