My Greeks 🇬🇷🏍️🖤

I met these beautiful humans in Crete when I was in Greece two years ago. Crete has a huge annual motorcycle ride called Gas Pie and we met each other there and became friends. We kept in touch and when they told me a month ago they would be in Italy on their own big motorcycle tour. I looked at my blank map and thought, I think we can make this epic reunion happen!

Italy was on my radar. I didn’t know how I was going to make it happen, but I was determined. I had to do a few side quests in San Marino, Sicily, Malta, and replace some parts first, but we made it happen. It took a lot out of me, but it was absolutely worth it.

Seeing old friends on the road is one of the best feelings in the world when you travel alone. Everyday interactions with new people are fun, but there’s just something about reuniting with people that really care about you. Of course saying goodbye again was like ripping my own heart out. I cried. But seeing them, hearing the Greek language, sharing a meal and catching up to see what has happened in two years…they just feel like home.

Motorcycles unite us.
