Top 10 Mistakes Students Make While Preparing for GRE
The GRE or Graduate Record Exam is a multi-choice computer-based exam that is required for getting admission to graduate programs and graduate business programs (MBA).
There are three sections in the GRE sections.
Analytical Writing
Verbal Reasoning
Quantitative Reasoning
GRE is a standardised test, usually requested by universities in the U.S., that students take before enrolling for a Master’s degree.
What makes the GRE stand out from the rest is that it is one of the most popular tests Business schools ask for from their future MBA (Master of Business Administration) students.
However, students always do not get the appropriate guidance to proceed with the GRE.
We can have a look at 10 common mistakes students make during the GRE preparation.
10 Common Mistakes In GRE Preparation
Delaying in Preparation
This is the first mistake made by the applicants. Despite having all the study materials, students make delays in preparation. This is because students think the exam is quite easy and not much preparation will be required.
Emphasising More on Selected Sections
You may be comfortable with a particular section but you still need to practise all three sections to be ready for any type of question.
Not Giving Enough Mock Tests
You need to take at least five mock tests before the actual GRE test. You need to evaluate your performance after giving the GRE mock tests. After the mock tests, you can discuss the result with your mentors or you can self-evaluate it. But you need to take the GRE mock tests.
Being Overconfident with A Particular Section
It is quite natural for a student from a particular background to be excessively confident with a particular subject. For example, a student from an Engineering background may feel practising less is fine for Quantitative Reasoning as maths is a subject he/she has been practising for a long time. This is one of the grave mistakes an engineering student makes.
Ignoring Time Management
Effective time management is one of the crucial aspects of getting good marks on the GRE test. Here each section is time bound and you need to complete each section within the time limit. That’s why, if a student ignores time management, the chances of passing the GRE will be less.
Panicking in The Exam Hall
You don’t need to be a perfectionist to pass the exam. If you do not know the answer to a particular question it does not mean you will fail. Just ignore the question and go ahead. Being confident is the only trick to getting good marks on the GRE.
Not Giving Importance to AWA Section
Students usually do not give too much importance to the AWA (Analytical Writing Assessment) section as the score won’t be included in the result.
Although the AWA score does not contribute to the total GRE score still the admissions committees check it during the application review.
Overlooking The Double-Checking
As the GRE is a computer-based test, it offers the candidates a second chance to check the answer again. You can click on the confirm button to finally say ‘yes’ to a question.
Not Answering to Questions
GRE does not carry any negative marking. This is the major difference between the GRE and other exams. So, if you do not answer any questions, it means you are making a mistake.
Undecided about When to Appear for The GRE
Students usually remain confused about when to start the preparation for the GRE and when to appear for the exam. They often make the mistake of underestimating the importance of strategic planning. Without a clear timeline for GRE preparation and test dates, students risk not allocating sufficient time for thorough study and practice. This can lead to rushed preparation, increased stress, and potentially subpar performance on the exam.

Slaad Lord, Ygorl
Image © @tredlocity
[I’ve been meaning to finish the slaad lords for months now, but my overall levels of exhaustion and the work that goes into making a demigod have kept me from doing so. I’m taking advantage of the holiday break to finish this particular project.
Ygorl is probably the slaad lord who’s gotten the most coverage. Versions of him have appeared in every edition, although only in quasi-canonical forms in 3e (a video game where he doesn’t even look like a slaad) and 5e (a PDF release for charity). As such, there’s lots of different interpretations of his powers and MO out there. This version is likewise different, not hewing closely to any particular edition. I’ve altered his philosophy from “utter destruction” to “destruction of everything but slaadi”, befitting my take on slaadi as cosmic invasive species. In so doing, I’ve made him a bit of a chaotic equivalent of Wastri the Hopping Prophet ]
Slaad Lord, Ygorl CR 24 CN Aberration This frog-like humanoid is skeletally thin, and has a head like a horned skull. It stands twice as tall as a man, and clutches a scythe in its hands. Its skin is a deathly gray, with red and black accents, especially along its membranous wings.
Ygorl, Lord of Entropy, Bringer of Endings CN male slaad lord of death, entropy, and natural selection Domains Chaos, Darkness, Death, Strength Subdomains Competition, Entropy, Loss, Slaad Worshipers nihilists, racial supremacists, social Darwinists Minions shadow creatures, slaadi, undead Holy Symbol the word “death” written in the Slaadi tongue Favored Weapon scythe Obedience Kill a creature of Tiny or larger size and spend an hour destroying its body. Gain a +4 sacred bonus to saves against death effects and level drain Boons: 1: shatter 2/day; 2: enervation 2/day; 3: disintegrate 2/day
Ygorl the Bringer of Endings is among the most powerful of the slaad lords, and certainly the most active. He was the first black slaad, who traveled to the Negative Energy Plane to watch the unmaking of reality and was changed in the process. It is Ygorl’s ultimate goal to eliminate all non-slaadi animal life, flattening ecosystems and transforming them into monocultures throughout the cosmos. He claims to have created the Spawning Stone, and even those slaadi that know the truth of their origins typically see this as a useful lie for motivating their kin to greater expansion.
Ygorl’s cult is mostly made of slaadi, as is befitting for his conviction that they are the ultimate form of life. Racial supremacists of other types are sometimes drawn to his banner. Ygorl accepts their worship and coddles them for a while, but views non-slaadi worshipers as tools to be disposed of or transformed into perfect slaadi forms. The protean choirs view Ygorl as an interesting experiment, and most proteans do their best to stay out of his way and observe his progress from afar.Unlike other slaad lords, Ygorl cannot shapechange, which he proclaims as a badge of honor, that he is not ashamed of or hides from his true form. Ygorl’s slaadi followers often make a point of not shapechanging, favoring overt action to covert.
Ygorl’s very presence makes creatures and objects alike weaker and fragile. His opening move in combat is to merely uncover his blade—Ygorl typically keeps a symbol of death marked on its surface, slaying lesser enemies without having to take any direct action. Assuming this is not sufficient, Ygorl typically conjures an orb of nothingness, a sphere of annihilation-like entropic weapon that obeys his commands. While directing this around the battlefield to disintegrate enemies, he unmakes foes one at a time, preferring to target the strongest enemy first as a show of dominance. Ygorl has not lived as long as he has by being foolish, however, and retreats from a losing battle to plot his revenge.
Like other slaad lords, Ygorl collects followers, sycophants and minions. He has two allies of great power worth noting. His oldest companion is Shkiv, an entropic great brass wyrm who has grown disgusted with human expansion and dominance, and allied with Ygorl in order to take revenge on humanity. Perhaps the strongest slaad under Ygorl’s wing is Sorel (female CN death slaad bard 12), who is attempting to generate her own cult as a slaad lord of riots and revolutions. How long this partnership will last remains to be seen—Ygorl has killed several slaadi who attempted to become slaad lords in their own right. If Ygorl is encountered with both Shkiv and Sorel, this is a CR 25 encounter.

Anarchic Attacks (Su) Ygorl’s natural weapons and manufactured weapons deal an additional 2d6 points of damage to non-chaotic targets, as the anarchic weapon quality. Channel Negative Energy (Su) Ygorl can channel negative energy as if he were a 20th level cleric. The save DC is Constitution based. Entropic Aura (Su) All creatures and objects within a 30 foot radius must succeed a DC 35 Fortitude save or gain vulnerability to piercing, slashing and bludgeoning damage for as long as they remain in the aura and for 1 minute thereafter. A creature or object that succeeds on this save is immune to Ygorl’s entropic aura for the next 24 hours. Slaadi are immune to this ability. The save DC is Charisma based. Orb of Nothingness (Su) As a standard action, Ygorl may create a 5 foot diameter sphere of nothingness. Any creature or object that touches the orb is subject to a disintegrate effect (CL 20th, DC 35). Ygorl may move the orb up to 60 feet as a move action. The sphere remains for 1 minute, or until Ygorl and the orb are more than 300 feet apart. Ygorl may use this ability three times a day, but may only have one orb in existence at a time. The orb is immune to dispel magic, but is dispelled with a mage’s disjunction, and is affected by a gate spell or rod of cancellation as if it were a sphere of annihilation. The save DC is Charisma based. Shadow Blend (Su) In any condition of illumination other than full daylight, Ygorl disappears into the shadows, giving it concealment (50% miss chance). Artificial illumination, even a light or continual flame spell, does not negate this ability; a daylight spell, however, does. Ygorl can suspend or resume this ability as a free action. Spellstrike (Su) Whenever Ygorl uses a spell-like ability with a range of “touch”, he can deliver the spell through any weapon he is wielding as part of a melee attack. Instead of the free melee touch attack normally allowed to deliver the spell, Ygorl can make one free melee attack with his weapon (at his highest base attack bonus) as part of casting this spell. If successful, this melee attack deals its normal damage as well as the effects of the spell. Unmaking (Su) Any creature killed by Ygorl is converted into quintessence. Any spell or spell-like ability used to return a creature killed by Ygorl to life by any means must succeed a caster level check against his spell resistance.

Raiding
Since it became a pretty long post, Imma just throw this under a Read More. It’s not about current tumblr drama fashion. So no popcorn scene for you peeps. Just my experience as a whole and to finally let go of a few feelings that kept weighting on me for a good while until my current team took me in.
The first time I ever advertised on a PF that I was seeking a raid team, was during the final months of ARR. I was a complete scaredy cat, anxious of whether I'd be good enough to work on a team that required more coordination than pugs to get things such as extreme primals or savage raids done. Off I go as a SMN main, panicked as my raid leader of that team joined my party for a brief interview. Afterwards though, during our first joint team efforts for HW content (Ravanna and Bismark extreme at that time) I discovered that I wasn't as bad as I thought. On the contrary, I was too perceptive of everything to the point I would rush to do mechanics assigned to our newbie healer who after several explanations would still not do the thing. Despite my huge insecurities of probably not doing the relevant rotations down to the last skill, my ego started to rise a bit when parsers started to take more and more of conversations between static members. And although I would never ask about my numbers directly, I would celebrate in silence when reading the overall party dps the moment I realized mine had been at the top even with a ninja and a dragoon in the party. That should have been a flag to me now that I look back for being a caster that was doing more damage than the melee. But I didn't know any better, and stayed with my group regardless throughout the entirety of gordias savage. Every week would be the same pummeling against the horrifying Faust dps check, then the first turn's boss, then the second turn until we finally hit the wall of jigglyman and disbanded. I didn't have much complains, despite how tiring it was, I had long since given up on those clears and instead turned each night into 'training to see how long I can last the moment shit hits the fan in any given fight'. And boy did I get a ton of experience down that lane.
The next times I started looking into content once more, I could only play the part of a sub for any group of people I trusted due to life and time issues. But I still took pride in being that one stable sub that could support any group on any extreme primal through HW. I still lament that I was never able to go through Midas and Alexander savage when they were relevant and merely watched from the sidelines.
Then SB came up, and I merely stood aside once more for the first Tier with Exdeath. Except this time, the frustrations of not having been there while I watched all my friends start doing EX's and savage content had finally gotten to me. And lo' and behold, suddenly I was back on square 1, trembling in fear while waiting on my PF announcement that I was looking for a group for Sigma (Kefka times). Nearly died the moment I had two people with interesting names join in my party and just grab me on the spot. I had no idea what I was getting into, they mentioned they just needed a caster slot for the new rag tag group they had built, but at least I had a team! Then the first day of raid came up, and right off the bat I was terrified at the fact that our raid leader was missing, being replaced just for that moment with the FC leader instead. Turns out my entire group save for the ninja, were a raiding FC with multiple groups going in through the week. And what was the first comment of the night pray tell? Well "No one should be here with X ilvl gear." Who was it aimed at? Well, to the only potato that for the first time was slightly outdated in 2 pieces of gear for not being active before the patch dropped. That was the moment that marked my spiraling down a rabbit hole that I wish I could let go of easily but still has a tight grip on me to this day.
I felt like crap, I fought my best and did research on how to be a better caster. Other than the FC leader's comment, no one berated me or spoke about me on a negative light. But it still left a mark in which I kept trying to prove myself and be useful. Suddenly I would find myself cursing at my skills. Hating how no matter how hard I tried with everything, I would never be able to even pass the goddamned Stone, Sky and Sea for savage raids. But we were still getting things done. Two new savage turns down in a single week of release? That felt incredible and also bittersweet. Because any time that my party members celebrated their purples and golds in fflogs, I would be in a corner, self destructing with greys. I kept trying and trying, until my coping mechanism ended up being "I'm just a fill in. But if I'm just this, I'm damn going to do a job stable enough to have a place here." Then things started turning out easier to deal with. I had noticed the goofiness of a lot of the members despite the numbers that dictated their runs, I gave up on my grey numbers and focused on getting their asses up if someone made a mistake. To support the healers as much as possible with mana shift and such. I started putting my experience of keeping the party alive to more use while I slowly tried to recover the confidence I had lost when starting the tier. Granted, they didn't care for the group as much as I did. No amount of hanging out after raid times or helping was enough for the few in charge to announce when we were done raiding after months of being together. They just stopped one day until their FC leader asked me if I was aware of the 'disbanding'.
Then it was time to switch gears, for the first time I thought my work had bore fruit when I was recruited into the FC leader's group instead, and all was well.... Until it wasn't, we kept having to replace members left and right, specially healers and tanks. Progress was slow, sometimes we’d clear Chaos and Midgarsormr, and others it would be a mess depending on the random team comp we had for the week. Things should have been better by the time we made it to Omega, half the party had cleared with their mains after all. Except that it was the point where everything went south in the background.
We had gained a good White Mage, who would complain about random jibber jabber every now and then, but that was fine, no biggie. Then they brought in their former co-healer from their previous static, a Scholar, and all was supposed to be fine. But then something happened that slowly started to wear us all out. For some reason, we suddenly were struggling some more with Midgarsormr, and then Omega.... Boy, even if we had previously cleared, suddenly the three days with 3 hours of raid time each went on on that goddamned turn, and then the final 15 min would go for Omega Male and Female and the reason was hard to tell at first, we were doing the same old after all. It wasn’t until nearly a month of wiping that probably the group had started to realize what was wrong. Our Scholar wasn’t exactly pulling his full weight.
This is what caused probably something that I should have seen coming and that stuck with me for a long while until now that I found this draft I worked on when the wound became fresh again from just thinking about it. It’s just frustrating, sad to a degree and I brought part of it on myself for trying so hard to be useful to no one. What happened? Well, the leader didn’t want to get involved into any drama by only kicking the Scholar because they were friends with the White Mage, so a disbanding was supposed to be the better way to end things. Except the leader decided to do it in a different and up to date still a very shitty fashion.
Right after we’d finished the last raiding night for the week, he posted an announcement about how people, aka his FC members were tired of constantly bashing their heads against Omega with little success and so they were gonna reform. By kicking the only outsiders of the static team. The White Mage, the Scholar, and me. There was no further explanation, no messages to me, nothing. I was just tossed like that after +6 months of knowing this FC and having raided and hung out with a good chunk of their members. I’d sacrificed so much for them. My time, my confidence to a degree, I had been a slave to their parsers more than a few occasions each time I heard them celebrating or complaining about their numbers. All because I wanted to feel like I could stand on the same levels as them. And I did to a good degree. I reached a point where I knew that my abilities weren’t as bad as the greys on my numbers showed me. But it meant nothing to any of them in the end. No message from the leader that up to that point had kept communication with me for raid times and other stuff. No reaction from the peeps I’d raided the most with.
The most ironic part that I still respect? The only person to apologize, the only one that actually took the time to send me a message after the whole group ‘disbanded’ was the dragoon that I had only ever heard speak about their golden parses and nothing else on discord. We hadn’t even talked up until then. But he still cared more than the people that had known me for longer in that group. Granted, I did get to throw at least a cent in the raid channel about what I thought before getting kicked, so he probably wanted to come out clean on that.
I am glad to no avail that I will never have to see them again, because the server splits sent them to a different data center. But it still left a deep mark on me when it came to XIV. I stopped logging in to do any content for a while, focused more on screenshots, on shady flower lady times until I could learn to love the game again. It probably took longer than I would have liked because all of this happened at the exact time that my friends from my crew had dived into raiding at a deeper level. I got to see them celebrate clearing the final omega. Then server transferring to be with their static before the great split or quitting. And then with Shadowbringers hearing “We’re not looking for a dps caster slot.” Each time anyone needed a fill in for their group.
All this left me at an odd spot, being the veteran that keeps up groups or dungeons on normal modes, but having a hard time trying to get back into my niches in the game. My way of getting through raid had been to think of myself as being replaceable or worthless, but still trying to keep my hope that I’m actually valuable. Getting through all of it alone is not the solution now that I can let go of that bitterness of not being appreciated even as a person. I just happened to get a random chance to try out filling in for a group for a friend. But it wasn’t that what helped me the most both to be back on raids and to have finally built back my confidence. They probably didn’t think that I would check, but I’m the curious kind. Specially when you join a discord that has brief mentions of you on the recent chat. And seeing them mention me, and then vouching over my skills as a player, and how I was their first friend in the server? Well, despite having trouble expressing any feelings myself most of the time, when I get to think of it, you have no idea how much it meant to me.
I managed to get back on what I like and enjoy most of what I do after deciding to take another leap of faith and join this group despite my stigma. Granted, mentions of parses and all will always be there. But not letting them define you, and believing in what you can and can’t do in content, I think is the best choice you can make to have a healthy experience and enjoy yourself as much as possible.
#personal#FFXIV#Raiding can be fun or leave a bad mark on you depending on how you go about it#long post#When I first wrote this it looked more like a rant so off it went to drafts#But its really just my experience overall now that I re read it and added two more cents in it

Tips for a Perfect GRE Argument Essay
A lot of us dread writing, especially when it comes to writing for an exam. But worry not, because the GRE Analytical Writing can be aced with a few tips and strategies up your sleeve.
GRE Analytical Writing section:
Apart from the Verbal and Quantitative skills, the GRE also tests your ability to critically think about and analyze a given topic. They do not test content knowledge–for example, how much you know about the issue at hand. The topics are such that they are of general interest or issue to the public, such as education, healthcare, a philosophical view, etc.
They basically want to assess how well you can analyze a certain argument, evaluate and articulate your views, and sustain a coherent essay consisting of an introduction, body, and conclusion.
There are two tasks within the Analytical Writing section:
Analyze an Argument
Analyze an Issue
Time and Word Limit:
For each of the two tasks, you will be given 30 minutes. The GRE scorers consider the short time limit and assess your essay as a first draft. Nevertheless, you have to make sure that there are no persistent errors related to grammar, punctuation, or spelling. Occasional typos are okay and will not result in negative marking. However, always budget your time such that you have at least five minutes to go over any surface-level errors and typos.
Always spend the first 5–7 minutes planning your essay. Believe me, it will save you time later on. Moreover, it will make your essay more structurally sound and cohesive. Develop a rough structure of the essay on the spare sheets given to you during the exam. Also, remember you can always ask for more whenever you need it.
You will be given a ballpark word limit for each of your essays. Still, remember while practicing writing that ideal GRE essays (scored the highest by ETS) fall between a range of 600–750. So practice keeping a minimum of 600 as your word limit. And never exceed 1000.
Scoring:
Each of these writing tasks is scored within a range of 0–6, 6 being the highest score. More details on exactly what they put under each score are available on the ETS website: https://www.ets.org/gre/revised_general/prepare/analytical_writing/issue/scoring_guide
Analyze an Argument:
This 30-minute task will have specific instructions you will have to follow. Basic guidelines are NOT to agree or disagree with a viewpoint, but critically assess the logic and soundness of the argument presented. Moreover, you are not to claim whether the arguments are true or not.
Below are some tips that will help you score high in your Analytical Writing section:
Tips:
In this task, you will be assessing someone else’s argument, so make sure that you do not focus on what or how you feel about the issue at hand.
Form your essay keeping the standard format in mind: start with an introduction, write separate arguments in each body paragraph, and finally, end with a conclusion paragraph.
Use transition words and phrases to link your essay together. These words are, however, in addition to, to begin with, in conclusion, etc. This signals to your scorer that you are capable of forming connections and articulating structured thoughts.
Even though the essay primarily evaluates critical thinking, grammar and punctuation are equally important. So make sure you proofread your essay at least once after writing it.
Do not start writing immediately after reading the essay prompt. Plan your essay before you begin writing. It saves time and results in fewer structural errors.
Now that you have these tips and tricks for the GRE Analytical Writing, it is time to practice some! There is an excellent pool of issue and argument topics on the ETS website itself that you can use to practice your writing.
You can find these here:
Analyze an Issue: https://www.ets.org/gre/revised_general/prepare/analytical_writing/argument/pool
Analyze an Argument: https://www.ets.org/gre/revised_general/prepare/analytical_writing/issue/pool
Finally, remember while preparing to read a lot of articles–this will help both in comprehension (which is good for the Verbal section) as well as in the Analytical Writing section.

GRE PREPARATION
The GRE is a standardized test based on which admission is allotted in many graduate colleges. It was established in early 1936, which was almost 85 years ago. It can be either computer-based or paper-based. The basic purpose is to secure admissions in master’s and doctoral degree programs in various universities and colleges. Moreover, once you clear this exam, the score is valid for five years and the exam is usually set and taken in internationally accepted and followed language that is English. A variety of sources and different study material are available for the students who want to prepare for this exam. The GRE preparation time is not fixed for any student, it depends upon the aptitude as well as the dedication of the appearing student. Here we shall discuss some of the tricks you should know in case you appear for this exam
GENERAL GRE TRICKS AND TACTS
DO EASY QUESTIONS FIRST: Since all questions carry the same points, you should secure yourself by completing the easy ones first. In case, you find any question difficult, just skip it instead of wasting time on it. But when you skip any question, make sure that you mark for your reference the particular question you skipped so that later you can solve it.
DO NOT LEAVE ANY QUESTION UNANSWERED: There is no negative marking in this exam. So, there are chances that your guesses may work since there is no penalty for wrong answers. For the answers you are not sure about, you ought to use your guesswork. But under all circumstances, you should not leave any blank out of the fear of not knowing the answer.
MAINTAIN YOUR PACE: The worst thing that can make you lose points is poor time management. You need to make sure that you do not run short on time and try to complete the questions on an average of about 1:30 minutes per question, only then, you will be able to complete your test on time.
CHECK YOUR ANSWERS: In case, you are left with time after completing your test, make sure that you do not submit it without going through the answers once and check and correct any of the careless mistakes made under pressure or in a hurry.
STAY COOL AND CALM: Even in case you get one or two difficult questions, you need not panic or get under stress. Do not let the discomfort ruin your peace of mind and make it difficult for you to answer the rest of the questions. Try to stay positive and motivate yourself.
TAKE A SHORT BREAK: Even if you are not willing to rest, take a break. Take a deep breath and give your brain quite some time to relax. Take a sip of water and get back to the work and find the answers.
So, these are just a very few tricks to secure a better score on the GRE test. Although these tricks may help you to some extent to boost your score, the essence of success lies in investing a good amount of time in preparations.

5 Expert Tips to Score 160+ in GRE Verbal Section
Are you struggling with your GRE Verbal score not rising than 160 marks? Well, let me tell you a secret here.
Learning on your own is okay but sometimes you need to fasten a rope while hiking a steep hill. With that support, you can have a grip and you can push yourselves towards the top. In the same way, practice with expert guidance together gains the grip on the subject which leads to a good GRE score to get into top universities.
Before Jumping into Tips, a Brief Idea on GRE Verbal Section:
GRE Verbal section has 2 parts and 20 questions per section with 60 minutes time duration on the total. Questions in verbal sections are based on Text Completion, Sentence Equivalence, and Reading Comprehension.
Now, Here Are 5 Expert Tips to Score 160+ in the Verbal Section:
1. Never Underestimate Reading Comprehension Questions
Reading comprehension is one such part of the GRE test, which consumes a lot of time for reading and finding answers. Focus on the first and last lines, get an idea of what the passage is and start answering. There is no need to memorize; you can always cross-check. This way, you can save time on passage questions.
2. Prioritize the Questions Based on Time Consumption
In any test, there will be easy, moderate, and time taking questions. Starting with time-taking questions is a false strategy to apply. It is always suggested to start with easy ones first. Now you can use the remaining time focusing on hard sections.
3. Find the Clues
Most of the time the questions will have clues to find the answer in the passage. The way you find the clue is the real challenge. Unnecessary stuffed words may confuse you. So, be careful while picking up the clues.
4. Develop Vocabulary Skills
Developing vocabulary skills is not easy as it is said. You need to memorize a minimum of 1000 words, their meanings, and their usage as well. How to do that? You can always take the help of our experts in coaching for the GRE test or you need to develop the habit of reading news articles, making note of words, use vocabulary apps to learn new words.
5. No Skipping Questions
This is the point that should never be forgotten. GRE test has no negative marking. Even you do not know the answer, guess it. You will not lose anything. Who knows? Guessing may work sometimes.
With the best tips and practice, nothing is harder and you can even achieve 160+ in GRE Verbal section which leads to score high on GRE Exam.

Unguarded
This is slightly based on emotions at the moment, after watching Phantom Planet again, I'm kinda torn tbh but let's see how this works out
**
The Fate of the human race is at stake.
Skulker shoved Danny Phantom down on his knees, tightening the cuffs behind his back as he pressured Danny's leg on the stage of Casper High. After Danny's identity was spoken out, he's been known all across the world. And now, Skulker dares to expose him more.
His black and white uniform torn, scratch marks and bruises on his glowing olive skim bare to others. His hair ruffled and a mess, his face plastered with multiple bruises and marks. He sniffed slightly as he looked down, the students of Casper High gasping at their hero, one of the students amongst them bruised and broken up above.
Sam and Tucker pushed through, blinking as they narrowed their eyes. "Danny.." Sam quietly rasped as she covered her mouth. The ghost kid had looked up, disappointed as though he had given up completely clear in his glowing green eyes. His ghost capabilities were limited by Skulker's cuffs.
Our world's are linked, if mine goes, yours goes too.
"You see your hero now, he's beaten, he's weak!" Skulker prided, Danny only slowly looked down at his bruised legs. His hair towered over his eyes as he sulked silently. "Danny... this isn't you, toughen up!" Sam motivated quietly as she held the edge of the stage. "I can't do anything, Sam.. I.. I don't have the thermos, I can't use my ghost powers.." The phantom quietly mumbled as he sniffed. "I'm sorry.."
Sam placed her hand on the stage, the glass ring glistening on her finger. "Promise me," Danny instantly picked up on her requisition though shook his head. He glanced at Ticket who bit his lower lip nervously. "His technology was left to be upgraded at the Fenton's house.
Skulker had zapped Sam away, skidding against the ground. "Sam!" Danny gave a bitter look that could kill up as he growled. He needed to do something. "You can't do anything, remember, all your ectoplasmic energy has been drained, unless your able to get these cuffs off, in which I doubt severely. None of your peers can leave, Danny, they will all see your head on my wall before they perish," Skulker grinned wickedly.
Danny jerked on the cuffs behind him before lowering his head again. The hopelessness starting to fill his head. The ability to not do so. The negativity draining him slowly. His thoughts slowly drifting to the past as he closed his eyes, draining out the worried wails of Tucker, Sam and others.
Get up Fenton.
Look at Fen-turd, can't stand up for himself.
I can't let them see me. Not like this.
When all attempts fail.
When all hope is lost.
He's there.
"Any last words, ghost kid?" Skulker sneered sickeningly. "Yeah.." Danny muttered quietly.
"Don't let the frostbite."
Danny's eyes shot open, a piercing sound erupting as an icy blue glow illuminated the phantom's eyes. Skulker's prideful grin started to falter, the glare seeming to be full of death in Danny's eyes. Danny's fist curled, his own gloves starting to flake over in thick blocks of ice, as did the cuffs before they suddenly shattered.
Ectoplasmic energy slowly sparked in his hands as he risen, floating slightly above the ground. He looked back briefly towards the others who all nodded in encouragement before Danny blasted Skulker with a beam. Skulker smashed into a wall, baffled for a moment once he saw the ghost kid standing with a clenched fist.
"This hurts me more than it hurts you... oh wait, no it doesn't."
Danny with a fist covered in ectoplasmic energy gave a strong blow to the face. Jazz stood on the outer side of the wall, narrowing her eyes and blinking before looking up at Danny. "Here," She muttered before tossing the thermos. Danny grinned was he uncapped the thermos and sucked in Skulker.
"How is that for cool?" Danny sneered with a smile before lowering himself. He yawned and scratched the back of his head, his icy blue gaze converting back to the glowing green eyes after he blinked a couple of times.
"Danny!" Sam called from behind and halfway choked the boy in a hug. "If Skulker won't kill me, then this will!" He rasped as he patted her back and converted to his normal Fenton look. Sam patted his shoulder. "Please just tell me you didn't lose all your hope,? " She quietly queried.
"Not all of it," Fenton replied as he looked down at the thermos.
"I've got something to look forward to.."

Surrender to the slow down
You have just finished up week 2 of social distancing/locked down. This is the new norm now. So much changed in just 2 weeks. You spent the 1st week in SF living with Clark, and then flew down here to move back in with family. You don’t know how long this period of time will be. You are back in your bedroom. You are re-adjusting to life at home. Dad and mom know how to set boundaries with you, and you are so thankful for that. There are little emotions and blow up here and there, but generally everything is good. You are taken care of. Your grandparents are here! What a privilege. Who would’ve thought you’d be able to spend so much time with them. You just came back from San Diego, had a beach house front, and got to run by the beautiful water every day. You sleep next to your little sister. Run in the empty beaches in the morning or do yoga. You have conversation with your grandpa as you make him coffee or make him a peanut butter sandwich. You make banana pancakes for the whole family with little Isabel.
If you told me this would be my life, a month ago, I wouldn’t have imagined. I don’t think any of us would have. All of this was unanticipated, to call it the least. Unprecedented. The whole world shifted to this new reality in about.. a week. There’s new news every day. New numbers. New bad news, new good news. So much to take in. I’ve just stopped reading the news. The first week I did that, and it was bad. I fell into a sort of despair, or anxiousness. So now, I limit what I read, and scroll.
If I could be honest, I don’t have it so bad. This slow down feels so needed. Like obviously, the pandemic in itself is so unfortunate - that it’s affecting so many lives. This is a history lesson in the making. But really, I just feel like there’s something about this time that is an opportunity.
I came into it as, wow! Look at all this time to be removed and remote. I can get sooooo much done !!! And I planned out the week. What I wanted to squeeze out of this juicy time frame. What I wanted to accomplish by the end. work, podcast, gre, etc. the list goes on.
And now, closing the 2nd week, I’m starting to shift my look on this whole thing. I’m always one to try to “make it count” - Make this day count. Make this time count. Make this season count. Make this year count. And that’s not necessarily a bad thing. But I tie so much of how much I deserved the day and feel good about it, to how much I produced. To being productive. I feel it, with my metrics. The work metrics, content creation metrics, Instagram metrics. All these metrics. Today the journal prompt that Christy sent me was “Who are you without the title, structure, schedules? How do you self-actualize without the productivity?” And that just made me think about how much I mark my value and the measure of the day, by productivity! It gets exhausting! And who am I without that?
I saw this time frame as to “do all the things” - to some how hack it, to get everything I ever wanted to get done, and come out a victor. What the heck? And then all of a sudden, I started feeling joy. In things like... slowing down. Moving around the house slowly. Wearing loose clothing. Looking up at the sky. Not thinking about the week.
This period of time, has literally, forced me, all of us, to take it day by day. That’s all you can do. We don’t even know what 1 week, 2 weeks will hold. I can fully say, I don’t know what tomorrow will hold. But today, today holds today. Now holds the now. How sweet it is.. to fully indulge in the now. And not have to feel guilty for it. Because we as a world don’t know what the future will hold.
I do know that my God is in the future. He’s very much in the now. So I just want to be in the now. I think my body for such a long time now has been begging me to slow down. To indulge in the present. To just be. I was thinking the other day. I want to experience the art of just being. That who I am now, as I look, is okay. It’s lovely and it’s enough. I even realize I regulate my thoughts to make sure I’m thinking of what I need to, I’m “optimizing” on my thinking space. Goodness. Who cares! I started to doing yoga with a different approach, that I read in Becoming Wise by Krista Tippett. That it’s not about perfecting the pose. It’s very the transition in between as it is to the pose itself. That’s how I’d like to see this time and that’s how I would like this time to teach me to live. The transition is something to indulge in. The stillness is still movement.
I had a call with Kim today, and I think it validated everything I was already thinking of. She always has a way of taking the points I’m communicating and somehow synthesizing what’s “really” going on and grounding me with some wisdom, insight and advice. I’m just so thankful for her. I was explaining everything going on. About how I entered this wanting to be sooo productive. I just want growth, progress, optimization, etc. but maybe you can find growth in stillness? And how I want to stop crying about myself but finally mature as a woman of faith, and that I need to be ready for what’s after this. So how do you find the balance of healing but readying?
“Growth in stillness. That’s a good way of putting it. And I think, in terms of the growth, well healing is a step towards growth. And God will be there in the future and he will work in you when it’s time to take the next step, but I think right now, you can really just let yourself slow down. Just unplug. People think, oh I just need to make myself really busy, get all these things done that I’ve been wanting to. But the thing is, the period after this, whenever that is, what’s gonna happen is, people are going to ask each other ‘oh what did you do during the quarantine’ and maybe some will want to say ‘oh i finally wrote this book’ ‘oh i started xyz’ but what if, you’re story is that you did a lot of reflection and growth and you slowed down? And you came out on the other side with more clarity, more recharge, more understanding? There’s no reason to be busy, because you’d find the time to do it any way with or without quarantine, and you’re just going to be met with more busy-ness. So you should take this time, to truly rest. Connect with your grandparents. Sit them down. Podcast their story. Guide your little sister. Teach her. Let yourself be okay with slowing your pace. Look at your 24 hour day and ask God, how can I find you in this day. What would you like me to learn and grow within this day. Connect with him.”
I think that was what I needed. It’s what I really feel. Just to give myself grace. To slow down. To not think about my content calendar and expanding FOTR and what’s the next initiative I have to do? I can I keep creating for the community, study GRE, and kill it at work? Okay stop. What if I can just move through. With grace. Grace for myself and the process. What if I can just start listening to my body and finding sweetness in the present and what’s around me.
I’ve noticed I am talking to myself a lot more gentler now. I’m identifying the negative thought patterns that sabotage me, such as criticism about my looks, comparison, not being effective, etc. And I stop myself and think, you are doing lovely. Your body is working so hard for you. You’re healthy and you have great discipline, so it’s okay to kind of relax for awhile. You can complain about things if you want, little family stuff, or you can just realize you can be happy where you find yourself. You can cry, crying is good. When I start going down toxic thoughts, relationship stuff, I take myself out of there. Do you need to be thinking this right now? Worry will come when it’s time to worry. What are positive things you can fill your mind with? Reflect on that. Fill your mind with good, honorable, lovely things, like Paul said. I think about mom singing as she’s hiking, about Bella being kind and funny and working on her homework next to me. I’m proud of myself because Bella got her homework done early because I made a plan with her. yay! what a good big sister :) I reached out to my friends and checked in with people all around me. My work team, FOTR, Martyna and the girls, etc. You’re okay, and if you were just doing now, you’re still okay! Life is not all a google calendar. You are a piece of art. Not here to produce and be measured by that. You have innate dignity and worth, because you are masterpiece of God. Fearfully and wonderfully made.
Maybe I just rest in that. I want to feel wonder. I want this time to be about wonder. Like a little child, just so amazed with the complexity and the mystery and the beauty of the world. The good and the bad, just knowing that it’s not limited to what we do with it. God is in and through things and there’s a mystery in that, and he loves me very very much I’ve heard.
So that’s what I want to do. Surrender to the Stillness. When there is noise, let there be. When there is work, do it diligently. When there is time for rest, rest. This is rest. It won’t be here forever. So don’t make it about producing. That will come. God just wants you to rest right now <3

Get Prepared for Your Competitive Exams JEE and GRE
If you set your sights on joining the top institutions in the country, you must attempt the competitive exams. These are IIT JEE, GRE, and SAT for engineering students and NEET for medical college aspirants. While most students have the skills to take the competitive exam, few of them possess the mental toughness to stand up to the competition. This is why you need to join a coaching center and get trained.
Get Prepared for Various Exams Entrance exams are tough because there are so many students competing for it. Only those who are prepared enough will get through. The Medical College aspirants go for the NEET exam while all others have to prepare for IIT JEE, GRE, and SAT. Applicants to foreign universities have to appear for IELTS and TOEFL. You must get help from a coaching center near you. Since you have the Best Coaching Centre in Arunachal Pradesh, you can join it and get sufficiently trained. If there are no coaching centers near your place, go for online coaching.
Entrance Exam for Engineering Students The Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) is the top pick for engineering students. The best placements are in IITs and NITs. You must score well to get placement there. One of the best ways to begin your preparation is to set a timetable for your study. This means you have to chalk out a schedule for finishing each chapter (say 4 days) in each subject Chemistry, Physics, and Math. Make sure you are able to go over the entire syllabus twice or thrice over. Give yourself time for revision so that you will clear doubts you get. Your coaching class supervisor is the best person to help you with this.
Break up of JEE Main In the JEE Main, there are two papers. One is for engineering students while the other is for architecture students. The engineering paper has questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Math. In the architecture paper, you will have questions from Drawing Test, Aptitude Test, and Math. The duration of both the paper is 3 hours. You get 4 points for a correct answer and 1 negative point for a wrong answer. In the Drawing Test, there are no negative marks.
Medical College Entrance For appearing in NEET, the candidate must have passed the 12th class with at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. The minimum age is 17 while the maximum is 25. It is important to get good study material for preparation if you are not joining any coaching center. If you have joined a coaching center, they will put the study material together for you. Get Trueman’s Elementary Biology Volume – I and Volume – II if you want more in-depth knowledge. You can also get Physical Chemistry for Medical Entrance by OP Tandon and Fundamentals of Physics by Halliday, Resnick & Walker for Physics.
It is important that you have enough rest while preparing for competitive exams. So, plan on this while chalking your schedule for preparation. This way, you will have time to relax or revise what you have done already. Only the toughest will survive, remember that.

The pros and cons of Lesnar’s potential UFC title bout
The biggest positive, outside of big PPV buys, would be seeing Lesnar get destroyed by either Daniel Cormier or Stipe Miocic.
Brock Lesnar signed a new deal with World Wrestling Entertainment, and everyone thought that meant his potential return to the sport of mixed martial arts and the UFC was just smoke and mirrors. But as it turns out, his new deal with WWE allows for Lesnar to compete in at least one more match with the UFC. That ... kind of sucks. But it also kind of doesn’t?
Stick with me for a moment, we’ll get there together.
Dana White talked previously about Lesnar returning to the UFC, and even said that his idea would be to give Lesnar a shot at the winner of the heavyweight title contest between Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier on July 7. Lesnar, despite being generally disliked by a very vocal portion of WWE’s fanbase and despite his last official MMA win being eight (8!) years ago, is a pay-per-view draw.
The WWE knows it. The UFC knows it. Everybody knows it. But as far as a UFC Heavyweight Championship shot goes, there are a few positives and a few negatives beyond all of that.
Con: What if he wins the belt?
As far as we know, Lesnar’s deal with WWE allows him one more fight in the UFC. A title fight means more PPV buys, but what happens if he wins the belt? If he has more fights remaining on his contract after that, the UFC still has to deal with a champion who is generally regarded as someone who puts in the minimal effort required.
And at the worst, if he doesn’t have any fights remaining, the UFC then has to go through Vince McMahon and WWE to negotiate terms of a potential title defense. The length of his new deal with WWE is unknown, but the last thing White would want is McMahon having the upper hand in negotiations.
The UFC can just vacate the belt, but they would then have Lesnar going back to WWE having beaten one of their best and brightest in Cormier or Miocic. It would be a very tough situation to work with.
Pro: He won’t
I’m not here JUST to dump on Lesnar — he is skilled in actual wrestling and can put a real hurting on plenty of MMA fighters — but he doesn’t have a snowball’s chance in hell at doing what he did to Randy Couture in 2008 to Miocic or Cormier. Anything can happen in MMA, but a Lesnar win would be so shocking for so many reasons that it’s not even necessary for me to go over all of them. But I will summarize:
Cormier (20-1, 1 NC in MMA) is probably a better wrestler. They’re both former NCAA Division I All-Americans in wrestling, but Cormier continued to pursue actual wrestling following his college career, and he’s competed in the sport in the Olympics. Lesnar (5-3, 1 NC) is a little bigger than Cormier, but he won’t be able to muscle him around. They’re equal in strength at worst. And Lesnar’s stand-up game is just awful. He doesn’t have a great chin and he doesn’t react well to adversity in the octagon. Cormier would love to give Lesnar a repeat of what Cain Velasquez gave him in 2010.
Miocic (18-2), at this point in his career, is good enough to avoid Lesnar’s takedowns and to stymie Lesnar’s ground-and-pound (which is certainly damaging, but sloppy) if he does end up on his back. And standing, he’s better than Lesnar (and Cormier, for what it’s worth) by a mile.
Con: He doesn’t deserve a shot at the belt
Lesnar hasn’t won a UFC bout since 2016, when he won a decision over an aging and slowed Mark Hunt, and that fight was overturned when Lesnar tested positive for clomiphene, a banned hormone and metabolic modulator by the World Anti-Doping Agency. It was ruled a no contest, making his last official win a submission victory against Shane Carwin on July 3, 2010.
Carwin was completely gassed and basically did everything he could to lose that fight. Prior to that, he beat an aging Frank Mir, who is also responsible for an earlier loss for Lesnar, and an extremely-aging Couture for the title. That title shot came after a lackluster decision win over Heath Herring, who was never a great fighter, which itself came after the aforementioned loss to Mir in Lesnar’s second ever MMA bout.
Lesnar was considered unworthy by many at the time he fought for the belt the first time, and even after winning it, he did so during a pretty bad period for the division overall.
Since his last win, he suffered first-round knockouts at the hands of Cain Velasquez and Alistair Overeem. Miocic has beaten Overeem, by knockout, while Cormier would likely be favored over both of them.
Pro: Cormier or Miocic destroying him would be cathartic
I know I’m not alone in this one. I don’t hate Lesnar because I don’t know Lesnar, but I sure don’t like him and I sure don’t like it when sports I enjoy are devalued in any way. Seeing him, a passable MMA heavyweight getting an unjustified title shot, get beat down by one of the best in the sport would simply leave me tickled.
I don’t want them to give the man a serious injury that ruins his life, but a good dose of what he gave a way-past-his-prime Couture from Cormier is the realest drug for me in 2018.
Bonus: Cormier’s reaction when hearing about a potential fight with Lesnar.
Pro: PPV buys equal exposure for better fighters
Whoever else is on a Lesnar card, including heavyweights from the current UFC rankings who might be snubbed for a title shot due to Lesnar’s presence, would be part of what would surely be one of the most lucrative UFC PPV’s ever. A title fight might be better for some of the heavyweights, but everyone involved in that fantasy card would get plenty of eyeballs, and that’s big.
Pro: The UFC knows how to put on a good card even when everything falls apart
And finally, we are coming off one of the most ridiculous weeks in MMA history where Conor McGregor attacked a UFC bus carrying multiple fighters from the UFC 223 fight card, presumably because it was carrying Khabib Nurmagomedov. McGregor, potentially the biggest name in the sport, was charged with three counts of assault as a result.
Nurmagomedov was set to fight for the UFC Lightweight Championship, which was stripped from McGregor, against Tony Ferguson, who had to back out of the fight for the fourth time due to unrelated injuries. Then Ferguson’s replacement, Max Holloway, was deemed medically unfit to compete.
Two more names — Paul Felder and Anthony Pettis — fell through before the final main event of Nurmagomedov vs. Al Iaquinta was put in place. Two other fights from that card were dropped due to injuries sustained from glass shards when McGregor threw a dolly through a window of the bus.
And in the end, it was still an extremely entertaining card. If the UFC can survive that, it can survive — and thrive in spite of — whatever negatives come from a Lesnar return.
