“Why does anything pertaining to you have to come with extra baggage?” Uncle Damon said. His dominant pack power surged, affecting the others nearby and making them restless.

The air crackled with his energy. I held my ground. His words stung, but he’d never hear me say it. I’d had lots of practice over the years keeping my hurt from showing, but at this moment, I lashed out with a barb of my own.

“I’m just lucky that way. Kind of like you.” I tapped the desk with my fingertips, knowing he hated it and narrowed my eyes at him.

He sure as hell had his own baggage when it came to relationships and pack bonds, especially when it came to anything with my mother.

“If the two of you are done poking at one another, I’d like to move on to the pertinent issue of the cursed map,” Sebastian said. He stood a good foot away from his desk and peered down at the map as if it might explode.

Everyone had a hands-off approach to the map after I’d blurted out that it was cursed.

“It won’t curse you just by touching it,” I said. “At least, not from what Gwenn or I could tell. It has a hidden layer that will attack you if you try to force it out in the open.”

“That’s just great,” Mutther said. “I suppose you found out firsthand?”

“Not me. Gwenn did. I was the innocent bystander.”

“Right. How innocent?” Nick said. He moved to Mutther’s side and viewed the map from farther away. Neither of them was taking any chances.

Not that I blamed them. They had suffered from being too near me in the past. Mutther was still rebuilding his bar.

A 'Cold Ham' - soft-spoken, deadpan, yet prone to theatrics.

Fond of gothic novels, lurking in graveyards, waxing lyrical about mortality and fate, poetry, cats, horror films, charcoal sketching, and making surrealist sculptures out of old, broken items using his Quirk.

Has a fiery streak and got into a lot of fights with bullies before UA.

Often slept in class after staying up all night waiting for Dad to get home.

Stayed distant from his pre-UA peers so they didn't uncover his identity.

Strictly goes by his first name, even asking his teachers to call him such.

Not very good with people; tends to ramble on about his own interests.

Deep down wants to be a Byronic Hero but he's just too awkward.

Believes that a good head of hair is the seat of a man's strength.

Speaks very quickly, raises his voice, and pumps his fists when excited.

Somewhat afraid of his Quirk due to it almost killing him multiple times.

Very loyal, will face even his worst fears to keep his friends safe.

His love-language is gifts; loves to spend Tosh's merchandising money.

Owns a four-foot high All Might plush he hugs when he's feeling lonely.

Is excellent at making gluten- and dairy-free meals for his father.

Visits his mother in the hospital weekly and brings her fresh flowers.

Suffers from anemia and has to take iron supplements.

Other Facts:

The result of too many drinks at a Pro Hero fundraiser event.

Raised by his mother until the age of four, when her Quirk ‘Astral Projection’ malfunctioned during a rescue operation and she became unable to turn it off. Now trapped outside of her body, which became catatonic, she exists as a disembodied spirit who can only speak to others by entering their dreams - which are often forgotten upon waking.

Toshinori almost gave his son up for adoption but realised their family resemblance was too strong; he would be easy prey for AFO.

When his Quirk activated at the age of five, Shinobu fell into the ground and almost ‘drowned’ underneath the soil as his father looked on helplessly, unable to grasp the boy’s intangible hands. Luckily, he managed to turn off his Quirk; he was embedded in the earth up to his shoulders until Toshinori dag him out. This made Shinobu realise at a very early age that All Might was merely human and couldn’t save everyone.

Due to his busy life, Toshinori hired a ex-Hero named Hive, a young woman with a duplication Quirk whose blossoming career was cut short by injury, as a nanny; before long, she became his honorary ‘big sis’.

His scar comes from a run-in with the villain Toxic Chainsaw.

Thanks to their very different Quirks, Shinobu found Toshinori unable to help him develop his intangibility and this side of it remains weak.

Shinobu doesn’t care about Hero Rankings and wishes to become a Rescue Hero instead of fighting villains directly like his father. However, his passionate side tends to lead him to the front lines anyway.

He chose to theme his hero name after the Wild Wild Pussycats.

His best friends from his old school are in the year above in UA - Oni (horned boy who can expel fire from his feet and hands), Sticksit (he shoots quick-drying glue from his index fingers), and Spitfire (she can turn parts of her body into plane parts, grow wings, and turn into a jet fighter).
