VDL gang as fruits!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
trying to make up for not posting :/ so i’ll be spam posting a little bit!! sorry if it bothers anyone.
Abigail - Mamey Sapote
named “mother of all fruits” for multiple reasons, and abigail is basically like the 2nd camp mother, after ms. grimshaw.
Arthur - Apple
the main character of all fruits. if anyone thinks of a fruit it’s probably going to be an apple. 90% chance, and arthur is most likely going to be the first person you think of in terms of story game protagonists.
Bill - PawPaw
according to google, most forgotten fruit. bill is most forgotten in terms of gang members, and is always being pushed aside, ignored, and looked down upon.
Charles - Banana
one of many fruits that can adapt to almost anywhere. also thrives on its own just as well as it thrives in groups. Charles only joined the gang because of their code, but he could’ve left easily at any time and be just fine, as well as he can adapt to anywhere, and quickly figures out the animals and plants, which ones to eat and not to eat.
Dutch - Papaya
named “father of all fruits.” dutch is the father of the gang, along with being the leader/king of the game. a homophone for “father came,” as its name came from a compound word, “papa” which means father, “aya” which in hindi, means “to come in the past tense.”
Davey - Ansualt Pear
a fruit that has been extinct for decades. davey unfortunately became extinct in chapter 1’s cutscene.
Grimshaw - Mangosteen
dubbed “queen of all fruits.” grimshaw is the 1st most responsible in camp, as she has people doing the cleaning, and managing the cooking, as well as bickering arthur to donate (which i did), and as a queen is often responsible/loyal to her kingdom, grimshaw was loyal to dutch since she joined, and even when she died.
Hosea - Passionfruit
2nd longest lasting fruit, as apple is the longest lasting. Hosea was the 2nd member of the gang, and was the oldest, plus the longest living (before chapter 4 events).
Jack - Tayberry
hybrid fruit between raspberry and blackberry. raspberry and blackberries are similar, almost the same as each other. all though john and abigail seem to come from different backgrounds, they are both in some ways similar. they both had to do things to survive, and they both want the best for jack.
Javier - Grape
mostly comes in bunches, and can’t exactly thrive on its own without their bunch. javier was best with the gang, and after he was not mentally okay, and was on the run more than he was in the gang.
Jenny - Pineapple
described as “the friendship fruit,” and jenny had liked many activities, and shared common interests with other gang members, causing her to become a friend to many members.
John - Strychnine
most toxic fruit, extremely bitter and poisonous. john in rdr2 wasn’t exactly like this, but in rdr1 he was almost exactly like this. he would’ve done anything for his family (not including uncle), and was bitter to almost everyone he encountered before reuniting with his family. whoever would encounter john and get on his bad side would eventually end up dying, from either him or his son.
Kieran - Durian
most hate it, and kieran was hated/outcasted from the van der linde gang, and not even jack would take a liking to him, as he was previously an o’driscoll.
Karen - Ackee
the ackee is mostly favored for its looks, but it actually tastes horrible. Karen is liked mostly for her appearance, like her chest area or her body, but she has a much deeper personality other than her looks. Karen is considerate of others (the other women) but still isn’t afraid to use her abilities. (cutscenes with molly o’shea, especially the one where she punches her.)
Lenny - Orange
one of the most liked fruits, and is an amazing one. whenever someone names fruits, they will most certainly name orange. lenny is a great character in rdr2, and is one of the best.
Mac - Australian Finger Lime
the australian finger lime is widely unheard of, and most people haven’t seen the look of it. everyone but the rdr2 character designers have never seen mac. his look is unknown to everyone who didn’t work on rdr2.
Mary - Beth - Cocoa Beans
cocoa beans are versatile, but they’re most known for chocolate. Mary-beth can and has done multiple different things in her life, but she is most known for her love of books and writing.
Micah - Honeydew
arguably the worst fruit. don’t know how people can ever like it. just like micah bell is the worst character.
Molly - Densuke Watermelon
one of the fanciest fruits, but is still a melon. just like the other ones, just puts on a fake facade that they’re expensive. molly o’shea does that for dutch, and the densuke does it for money and fame.
Pearson - Rhubarb
goes well with stews, but doesn’t have much versatility. Pearson doesn’t know how to cook much else but stew.
Reverend - Coconut
coconut is one the fruits that represent god, and reverend has always led a god-driven life, even with all his sins.
Sadie - Pomegranate
pomegranate is split open, and bleeds out, and is never the same without its insides/seeds. sadie was never the same without jake, and will never be.
Sean - Cox’s Orange Pippin
the orange pippin represents ireland, and is irelands national fruit. sean comes from ireland, and is very prideful about his heritage.
Strauss - Yubari King Melon
the king melon is the most expensive fruit in the world, and strauss values himself above getting the debts, which caused arthur to have TB.
Trelawny - Jackfruit
jackfruits are rare to discover in certain places, and trelawny only appears when he has a lead, or when he has to travel back to the gang.
Tilly - Peaches
little sister of apples, as well as dating back to 6000 bc. tilly is seen as a sister figure to arthur/john, and she’s one of the first gang members to join.
Uncle - Cempedak
2nd worst smelling fruit, but tastes good. Uncle is notorious for smelling bad (plus being lazy and lumbago), but he has some positive personality traits.

LoZ: TotK - Sky Island Fruit
I wonder what Fire Fruit, Ice Fruit, Dazzle Fruit, & Splash Fruit taste like.
I'm pretty sure we all know that Shock Fruit tastes like lemon. No, Starry or Ghost Citrus! And I think it'd tingle on the tongue like pop rocks, but what about the rest?
For the sake of worldbuilding, I need to figure this out.
Guaranteed, Splash Fruit is juicy af. Like, watermelon juicy. Maybe it tastes like a combination of apples soaked in white grape juice & white grapes soaked in lemon juice. It's the relative shape & color of a calabash, so it has a slightly bitter edge to it & a scent of squash & coconut water.
Fire Fruit are inspired by uchuva, Chinese lantern fruits, a/o cape gooseberries, so they'd likely taste like them too. So, sweet, yet tart & tangy when ripe, but sour when not. Possibly has a flavor profile a bit like spiced mandarin oranges, tomatoes, & cherries. The fruit has a similar texture to a cherry tomato. I do also think that if you were to remove the lattice leaf protecting the fruit inside & tear the actual fruit open, the juice that'd spill out would be on fire. Just liquid fire or napalm, but edible. I remember in the Wrinkle in Time movie that Disney did (the 2004 one, not the remake), Mrs. Whatsit pries open a fig-looking fruit (I think) to spill its contents on a bundle of wood, the juice was on fire, which starts the wood on fire. That's sort of what I think it'd be like. The juice would also sizzle on your tongue but wouldn't burn. Instead, it's pleasantly hot. Not warm, hot. Like a hot bath or a hearth.
Ice Fruit, I just learned, might be in some way inspired by the ice apple. Which, the heck?? Why am I only just learning about this mess??? But whatever; they'd likely take cues from that. So, Ice Fruit would actually be legitimately transparent to a degree. Known to be mildly sweet, often compared to the flavor of coconut. Their flesh has been described as jelly-like in consistency & biting into the center results in a burst of sugary-sweet juice. - Beyond that, I'd make them actually cold & refreshing, they are mildly sweet & per a really good suggestion I got, they'd taste like champaign grapes, but also a little bit like white grapes with a hint of Palm Fruit (as noted above). Their flesh would be gelatinous with a thin skin like a frost bubble (think a dry ice bubble used in mixology). And, because I wanna insert a tiny bit of wonder into this, you can literally do that breathing frost thing that you can do when it's really cold, but at any time of year or temperature every time you take a sip. Kids & grown-up children (gestures to oneself) would most likely love them. - Also, evidently, if you get a cooler, put any sort of small fruit inside with some dry ice for 20 minutes, then the dry ice sublimates, the fruit absorbs it, & you'll get a type of carbonated frozen fruit! I'm thinking to find one that I can use to add onto the flavor profile of the Ice Fruit. It just seems like too "cool" of an idea to pass up. Problem is, I'm not quite sure what kind of words to use to describe it in a more "scientific" way yet.
For a bit more information on these IRL ice apples (Borassus flabellifer), it's a tropical fruit that grows on sugar palm trees in India. The ice apple is also known as Tadgola in Marathi & Hindi, & Nungu in Tamil. They are found inside a coconut-like fruit that grows on sugar palm trees & acts as a coolant. They are fleshy & transparent with yellowish jelly-like flesh & a slightly square-ish shape.
I'm still not sure what Dazzlefruit would taste like, though. And no clue what it's inspired by. It'd probably have a bright, light flavor, hmm??
If anyone has any ideas, I'm all ears.

Yay!!! Happy na naman si Daddy sa new monitor and speaker niya! Dun na raw siya maglalaro ng NBA. Haha. Minsan kasi sa PC monitor siya naglalaro pag nanonood ako or si baby Thena sa TV, palipat lipat siya ng screen. Gusto niya rin sa TV na lang mag-watch ang babyloves namin, hindi na sa phone kapag working ako. Now, may sarili na siyang station.

ENTRY #5
Hey there!
It's 1:05 in the morning. I'm here at our house in the province because we're spending the Holy Week with the family. I couldn't really relax right now even if I wanted to kasi ang dami ko pang need matapos for work, but because everyone is in vacation mode, there's not much I can do about it.
So to appease my busy head, I'm just going to use this time to write entries and hopefully get some sleep after. Today is Saturday (March 30th), and we will be leaving for Manila on Sunday. I would love to stay longer but unfortunately, my job is incredibly demanding and I have to get back as soon as I can.
So while I'm here, let me talk to you guys for a bit. I'm trying hard to recall kung ano nga ba yung mga nangyari sa akin for the past months (actually marami siya hindi ko lang maalala yung details). Siguro I'll start with a very mundane memory that brings me joy.
This is my Kim's Ramyun routine:
For those who don't know what Kim's Ramyun is, it's like a Self-Assisted Korean Convenience Store where you can help yourself to a wide range of instant noodles, Korean snacks, drinks, Korean side dishes, ice cream, etc.
Almost everything in the store including cooking your chosen noodles is up to you. All you have to do is choose what noodles you want to eat and other items you want to purchase (drinks, desserts, snacks like seaweed or a bag of chips, etc.) then you go up to the counter and they will assist you with the side dishes you like (if you choose to have any). Then you can have them ring up your items and you can start preparing your meal.
1ST STEP: Go to the Cooking Station
Tumblr media
*CTTO of this image
In one corner of the store, you will find Automatic Ramyun Cookers lined up in a row. Depending on what kind of noodles you choose (stir-fry, soup-based, etc.), there are different buttons to press to properly cook them. There are also buttons to add more water, or to extend the heating time of the stove, and there are usually instruction guides on the side of the machines. Or you can ask one of their staff to help assist you with the machine.
2ND STEP: Wait for the noodles to cook (and then drain if it's for stir-fry instant noodles)
Tumblr media
After you figure out how to use the machine, you wait for your noodles and sides to cook in the boiling water. Since I started eating at Kim's Ramyun, I haven't tried any soup-based noodles because I always go for Instant Jjajangmyeon from the brand Paldo. I also order mini sausages with my Jjajangmyeon and a pack of seaweed (usually the cheese-flavored ones), and I always get Grape Fanta for my drink. This has always been my go-to, and I know the pairing may be a bit odd to some but I like it.
3RD STEP: After draining, I go find my seat and enjoy my meal in peace.
Tumblr media
Once I reach my seat, I prepare the sauce of the Jjajangmyeon and mix it in with the noodles and sausage. And then I open my pack of seaweed and wipe off the top of my can with alcohol (It's always been a habit of mine na punasan muna yung top ng can before I drink kasi helloooo hindi ko alam kung saan at anong pinagdaanan nung can na yun hahaha). After that, I get my phone and search for a series I'd like to watch or get my AirPods to listen to some chill music/podcasts. While I figure out what to watch or listen to, it gives me time to let my noodles cool off (I'm not fond of hot food, pero depende rin siguro sa mood ko or weather).
I usually eat at Kim's Ramyun after work because one of their branches in Timog is close to our office. And when I couldn't decide on what to eat I usually opted to walk from the office to Kim's Ramyun and have myself a hearty bowl of Jjajangmyeon. Kalimitan kapag maaga akong aalis ng office and alam kong tapos na lahat ng tasks ko for the day, dito ako pumupunta for dinner. There were also days that I visited during the wee hours of the night after finishing work.
I get a sense of comfort whenever I eat at Kim's Ramyun after a long day at work. It makes me feel like an adult and that I just had a productive day. It sort of became like a sign that I just clocked out and now I'm just a regular person again (and not an employee). I also find myself alone amongst groups of people who dine there. But I don't feel the slightest embarrassment by eating on my own at Kim's Ramyun unlike when I was at that K-Grill place near my Dorm (IFYKYK, please refer to my previous entry). It also feels like some kind of "Me Time", I get to enjoy my meal in peace and catch up on episodes of my favorite series or podcasts. Whatever it is, it just brings me comfort. It may sound like a simple and incredibly mundane thing that I do, but whenever I go to eat there —I end up having a good time. It's a small win that I like to celebrate.
And that's it for today's entry. It's already 3:03 AM and medyo inaantok na ako so I guess I'm off to bed. In the next entries, I'll be talking about more random memories or ganaps from the past few months. But for now, sleep na muna tayo.
Good night my lovelies, I'll chika more soon. Bye~
Love,
Zoey na pumipikit na ang mata

Dashmool (a combination of ten herbs): Dashmool, a blend of ten medicinal herbs, contributes to the syrup's anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. It is particularly beneficial for joint and muscle health.
Giloy (Tinospora sinensis): Similar to Guduchi, Giloy is another powerful herb renowned for its immune-boosting qualities. It aids in detoxification and supports the body's natural defenses.
Haritaki (Terminalia chebula): Known for its digestive benefits, Haritaki helps in maintaining a healthy gastrointestinal system, promoting proper digestion and absorption of nutrients.
