Three years ago during the Tokyo Olympics, every women's sports fan agreed with this sentiment.
Three years later, the reaction to this sentiment is very different. Caitlin Clark's massive fanbase and media circus has declared that the women's team is to blame for the poor coverage. They say again and again that it's not the fault of the media. They say USABWNT is at fault for the lack of coverage all because they didn't bring Caitlin Clark to Paris.
No one is inviting them to make these statements. Nothing about this tweet mentions Clark at all. But the Clark fanbase never misses an opportunity to push their narrative. They tell the world that "jealous" women are at fault for the lack of media coverage of women's basketball. No other female athlete in the world has a fanbase that believes that women are the problem with women's sports. That phenomenon is unique to Caitlin.
Anyone with that opinion will never have a positive influence on the growth of women's basketball. Not all Caitlin fans say this shit but many do. The majority of her fanbase was generated by her buddy David Portnoy. And now they spend all their time attacking people like Grant who try to do something positive for women's basketball.

Some gifs from the Hawaiian Eye episode Satan City (S03 E01). Greg gets involved with a controversial author when her latest manuscript is stolen. The Grant Williams episodes didn't get as much love because he's not as well remembered as Robert Conrad or Anthony Eisley. It's a shame because he was a good actor, a handsome man, and when he was the lead on an episode, the supporting cast often got more opportunity to shine as well.
As with the Surfside 6 and the previous HE gifspam, I waited until these episodes disappeared from where they'd been posted. I want to attract attention to these old shows, but not at the cost of the people trying to share uploads. I'd love to have credited the source but a: they're gone already, and b: I don't ever want to be the reason why.
