Granny Weatherwax is one of my favorite characters in any piece of media ever, and I was recently thinking about why I like her so much. There are so many reasons, but I think one of them is that she's oddly comforting. Yes, she's rude and prickly and scary, but she always helps people when it matters. There's just something nice about the idea of someone who would always help you if you were in serious trouble, no matter what your problem is or even if you've talked bad about her. You could have spread a rumor about her and then have an eldritch monster about to kill you, and Granny Weatherwax would step in, send it running, and then give you a stern talking to while treating your wounds.
