This was a Time Machine Moment that I snapped a picture of. Started out printing off pictures of Gramps Cows. Then, Little Man was hungry so I washed him some Raspberries. Took out the ones I knew he wouldn't eat, but no waste around here, so I ate 'em. One bite and the Taste brought me immediately to Our Old Farm on Barney Road where Gram and I would go Blackberry and Raspberry pickin'. We'd Navigate through the pickers and the electric fence to get to 'em. The most Glorious ones were always juussttt outta reach. Crazzzy how food transports ya...so much so, I thought I could even feel one of those shocks from reaching too far. "We are made of Star Stuff." ~Carl Sagan This week is always gonna be a tough one for our Family. Two years ago we were with Our Gramps as he made his way over to the Other Side. Immediately after he took his last Breath we hustled over to his Shop to check on his Herd and shut down the Whitewash equipment for the Season because we couldn't just be "sittin' around". Yesterday, I busted out my Blue Sweatshirt that was at the bottom of my closest. Not thinking anything of it, I put it on and thought, "Geesh, haven't worn this Ol' Friend in a while". Opened up my Memory pictures for the day and there it was, in the picture of the last time I held Gramps' Hand. Funny how those things happen. "Oh, Hey Gramps." (Picture 10/10). Here we are, Two years later... Seems so long ago and just like yesterday all at once. Finishing up the 50th Season of Tom Harrison's Whitewashing Service, I absolutely know with all my Heart Our Gramps is proud of the way he raised Us all up and our Drive to keep things going as he would. The Farmers even tell Us all the Time, "We sure are Grateful you Girls are doing this, don't know what we'd do without ya." Truly is an Honor to shuffle around in his Boots, literally (my old Boots busted a little while ago and now I wear his old ones that he wore before he got the ones that @k8marie91209 wears). So, here's pieces of the last week before we wrap it up. We still got a couple of special jobs to use up the rest of our Whitewash, but we officially ended our Season with the Barn Gramps first started at. Today woulda been Our Gramps, Tom Harrison's, Birthday. He sure wasn't a Birthday kinda Guy and we sure celebrate him every time we roll out to a Dusty Dairy Barn somewhere to spruce it up or take a walk by the Creek at his Farm, I get a feeling like that it is the Best Gift we could ever give Him.
