I had to settle for subtle colours on this shot as the low cloud denied a decent sunset. Even so the white sand of Surin Beach in Phuket Island turned rose gold. In daylight the water is clear, with a turquoise tint. It's a long beach, with surf coming in from the Andaman Sea. There are a lot of developments along this part of the coast, making access difficult. Something a little brighter now from our afternoon on Lindisfarne. We had decided that we’d visit the Holy Island around the time of the high tide and get “trapped” on the island for the afternoon. (For those who don’t know, Holy Island is a tidal island off the northeast coast of England which is cut off twice-daily from the rest of the world by fast-moving tides.)
