Hello, everyone!! We have some new information about Charles Leclerc’s ‘new?’ girlfriend! Buckle up!

After some in-depth research, the girl in his recent instagram dump seems to be Y/n Y/l/n. She is 21, born and raised in Monaco, and attending the International University of Monaco for Fashion.

One source, not wanting to be named, claims that they have known about the couple for six months! But they say it had been going on since the girl turned 20!

Tadpole♪ Diary Pt.1

Some interesting things happened in the last few days so I thought I'll share them~

On August 9th, the Able Sisters had an Explorer Pants on display, so that's one clothing down on my goals list ~♪

On the 10th, Gracie was in town, and this time, he asked for the Flashy theme which I had some clothes for! (unlike last time 🥲 ) Two more passing fashion checks and he's gonna open up his store! I also caught a scorpion that night which I didn't have yet✨

Yesterday I could finally catch a tarantula after one bit me and two played kamikaze the other day. (One is actually merged with a tree and despawned and the other threw itself down from the cliff :'D ) With this catch, only one bug left to get, the dung beetle that I didn't catch last winter for some reason...

We also watched the fireworks show with Scoot and Lucha 🎆

Today, Re-Tail had a Cardboard Chair on display by Scoot. It's not a really interesting item, but for me it's special as I don't even have it on my other, 6 years old town! And actually I can use this one for my treehouse club room. Redd was also here and had a painting I didn't have yet.

Next-gen Special Characters

the concept of the next animal crossing should be a new vs old gen style thing where we get more NPCs like daisy mae flick and CJ and the older gen NPCs become once a month fill-ins for them (excuse being the main new gen is sick, travelling, etc.) with all the previous new leaf NPCs roles returning and not shoved away like how the post office was replaced by just a boring card stand (ideas listed below)

the nooklings replace nook, no longer just separate roles but overtaking the store business with the signature blue tom nook apron look, they also are the ones to help the player build a house and instead of nook or isabelle declaring you "island rep" (aka GOD) or mayor, the player gets to be a construction worker for an up and coming nook inc in a new town shaped similar to the first animal crossing gcn game with a train station, levels of town that descend, all the minigames from gcn, and a new leaf town plaza (and any other big traits from previous games that feel impactful)

isabelle has moved to a new area to become the mayor of a brand new GCN-style town. if there was a way to link new leaf isabelle would have a portrait of the new leaf mayor on her desk, but it would likely pull from new horizons save data instead and show the island rep. tortimer fills in, taking a vacation from his retirement life by indulging in mayor duties while isabelle visits her previous workplaces. this replacement only happens after getting a lighthouse facility installed to complete the lighthouse thing that existed in the first title. he becomes cornimer in fall.

label replaces gracie's role in new leaf as the ultimate unlockable with the fashion checks, with her own brand of furniture and selling the previous gracie furniture (excluding the gracie series, bought once a month when she replaces label, and the princess series, which i repurposed for a later bullet point)

mabel takes full shop ownership and sable creates her own smaller version, explaining in the prologue she wants mable to try and manage the shop on her own since she's grown up. sable will have her own mini tailors that you build in the intro to the game's format similar to how it was in new horizons, moving out of able sisters on main streeet

the dodos replace the pelicans for mail service by seaplane, with mainstreet having a visible seaplane area behind the post office

leila replaces kapp'n but shes still really young, but she can speak full sentences and instead of playing shop she's playing boat in a row boat (she also sings, and has a new kk song called marine song 20XX whichever year the game comes out)

reese and cyrus have a purple-fleeced kid who they let run the shop kind of like how leila plays shop in new leaf tortimer island, but reese and cyrus are both still present in the building, taking over once a month because their kid is sick

harvey and harriet also have a kid running shampoodle

lottie now manages happy home instead of lyle

wardell replaces wendell

niko replaces digby

the ok motors pigeons from pocket camp have an RV coffee shop on main street the player can work for, while the roost can be developed as a small building in the town run by brewster

redd has triplets that he trains under him to mirror the nooklings, and puts on a fake "retired from crime" facade while his underlings carry out his dirty work, selling fake art but also spying on the town, disguised as a rock the player can "break" on the day before the triplets visit. he manages the fireworks stand like normal, with the triplets coming to make their own brand of fireworks they suddenly launch at 3:33am

frillard and farley return as the "old" gen counterparts to shrunk and leif, with shrunk returning for the club lol and leif running a garden center that slowly expands in crop selection with each upgrade, and allowing the player's town perfect fruit to change. farley sets up a small gnome flower shop that looks like the level 1 garden store in new leaf. the unlock requirement is a perfect town, he would be the only way to store flowers and he can make shrubs bloom regardless of season. he doesnt replace leif as a store runner, but you can see him as a statue outside the store once a month, removed from his fountain area. (im torn between him being the way to get a perfect town and maintaining his wishing well spirit role or this, but i think it would be better to return as the spirit. in that case i think daisy mae runs a vegetable shop, selling turnips on sunday from there and joan visits once a month)

flick and cj are

the snowfolk family idea should return, but they each evolved by one parent stage: snowman is snowgramps with the bingo eyes, snowmaam is snowgran wanting icicles for the ice/frozen series, snowboy is now snowman and mails the snowman series, snowtyke is now snowboy and gives you the same stuff as new leaf, and snowtyke's proportions are repurposed for a new snowtyke with a snow ponytail and she mails you pieces of the princess series (frozen reference that i think is funny)

theres a few special characters that i have NO idea how to replace since they feel so unique and special or dont have any easy replacements

blathers/celeste becoming parents or uncle/aunt to another owl feels REALLY unnatural (only thing i can think of is blathers and brewster get married and adopt a kid)

the resetti moles should get a replacement somehow but i dont know how they would work due to autosaving, maybe they run a town data transfer service? or they create new save files to play on to stop limiting to one per cartridge/console?

the police dogs' new gen should run a community center (acab) akin to stardew's, or they adopt a kid who runs it (gay marriage option #2)

i could see porter staying? he doesnt feel like an old gen and being champ in wild world/city folk i feel like he needs to be in another game to flesh out his personality more. he could always have his old gen counterpart become rover

luna has no real replacement either and she feels equally as new as porter, but they could maybe make her a leap year holiday NPC since that's when her birthday is and replace the dream mechanic with something like the uploaded houses from HHD/HHP

leif could become an earth day holiday NPC, with earth day being like weeding day from new leaf and rewarding with different styles of topiaries, or have either a new younger sibling or leif is the older gen version of a new elderly special character sloth that raised leif and is equally as cheery and happy

the other holiday NPCs like jingle, zipper, blanca and jack dont really have a replacement but i think making them stay the same turns them into more of a mythical unaging santa claus figure, but pave and franklin could have replacements since their holidays dont have a mythical aspect to them

gulliver's pretty hard to replace since he seems too adventerous to settle down with a kid, and it doesnt make sense personally to create a brand new younger character to replace him. i think they could go back to his astronaut UFO design since its been two games now since its appearance

phineas feels like he should just age more instead of having a descendant since he was removed from new horizons and replaced with the nook mile achievements over the badge system on the resident ID card (which should come back on the passport)

pascal feels too young to be replaced by anyone, so he could set up some sort of library cave area that appears on the beach and you can only access every so often (like the reset center in previous games) to show him settling down and less nomadic than before

saharah and katrina can have brand new designs, either full replacements to be less orientalist or they have children that are around lke 10-13 years old

wisp being a ghost would be EXTREMELY STRANGE to have a relative/replacement so i think they should just change him again to be something new, maybe you find his pieces and assemble him instead of finding and then scaring him, and assembling him you find out he was an old king, but its very clearly him roleplaying as one the more times you assemble him

the other special characters i didnt mention (i looked at the wiki when making this) are katie/kaitlyn, serena, the rest of kapp'n family, and lloid: if katie comes back she could be grown up and still travelling but idk how kaitlyn could come back; serena could become the new farley???? i guess?? but i overall think farley works the best since hes the only (?) non-animal character in animal crossing (gnome) and serena is just like. chihuahua; kapp'ns family can easily also replace leila for the once a month thing and then lloid is lloid idrc

My Sunshine Jimmy

So, along with My Boy Charlie, another archetypal character I write is Jimmy - though just like Charlie, he's taken on many forms, including appearing [without my say so] in my Ancient Greek OC Antidas (with some variation to fit context, of course).

These archetypes aren't gender specific by the way; in my current project, Arity is also in many ways a Jimmy; and as I shared on Sunday, they do get into a relationship together, so they're a lot sometimes.

Jimmy originally came into being in my (published, now unpublished) pair of novellas titled 'Double White Lines'.

In the first of these, Freeway, he's introduced through the eyes of Gracie [another of my archetypes who will also be in the novel I'm writing now, so more on her soon.]

So, Jimmy and Gracie from Freeway:

Original Jimmy

It was sunny outside, and quiet except for the distant hum of traffic on the freeway behind the house, where it ran west towards Langarrin. Gracie sat on the brick letterbox, kicking her heels against one side, waiting for Jimmy to come pick her up. He was her best friend – they’d known each other since early childhood. Besides her sister, Lou, he was the only person that she had any real attachment to.

She didn’t have long to wait. He pulled up in the Rex, shorthand for the WRX, a rally car that was fashionable amongst a certain type of guy. She jumped into the passenger’s seat. 

‘I’m glad you dressed for the occasion,’ he said, hazel eyes sparkling with humour. ‘Those are your best trackies, I s’pose?’

She returned the favour, looking him up and down, pointedly eyeballing his tight pink shirt and skinny jeans, and scoffed.

‘Where’s the metrosexual convention?’

He chuckled and turned his attention to pulling the Rex out into the street. 

Once they were on their way, he said, ‘Got some news - don’t go getting all heartbroken on me, though...’

‘A posting?’ He was in the Navy. Postings were a fact of life. 

He nodded. ‘Melbourne. I leave in a couple of weeks.’

‘How long?’

‘Nine months probably. It might get extended.’

She just nodded, taking a moment to adjust to the news.

She felt thrown of balance each time he went away. Somewhere, at the back of her mind, she thought he wouldn’t come back; and it was true in a certain way. The longer postings always returned some new variation of the Jimmy she’d known before.

It would’ve been easier if they’d been any good at keeping in touch – but Gracie never knew what to say, and Jimmy was always so busy – sometimes totally uncontactable for months at a time, and sometimes just taken up with whatever friends he was mixing with at the time.

It was understandable that their relationship got put on ice, she thought, all things considered; but it was still hard to be left behind and not take it to heart.

They arrived at the Henley Maccas a few minutes later and went in.

Once they had their food, they took a table near the window, looking out on the shabby carpark.

Gracie slowly drank her shake as he told her about his plans, in between scoffing down two burgers and fries. He always ate like he was ravenous.

During a lull in his monologue, she said, ‘It’s been a while since you’ve been to Melbourne, right?’

‘Yeah, a few years.’

‘Guess you’re about due to check in with your Melbourne wife, then. Visit the kids.’ It was a long running joke between them – the classic, about sailors having a family in every port.

‘What did we call the last one? Joseph?’

‘Joe. He was a pizza baby.’

He snorted. ‘That’s right. I’m really looking forward to having Papa Joe’s again. Best pizza I’ve ever eaten.’

A couple of girls walked into the fast-food joint. They caught Jimmy’s attention. 

‘Who’s that with Jude?’ he asked Gracie, gesturing with his chin.

Gracie looked over her shoulder. He was talking about a small, dark-haired girl who was probably around twenty-five, maybe Italian or something like that, dark-haired and pretty.

‘That’s Kirsten’s younger sister, Rosie.’

‘Good-lookin’.’

Gracie rolled her eyes. ‘You’d shag anything, honestly.’

‘Not anything,’ he said, with some dignity. ‘I wouldn’t touch Lou with a ten-foot pole.’

She grinned. ‘Just as well. She’d shank you if you tried.’

He laughed, but he managed to catch Jude’s eye, and the two girls came over.

‘Hey, Jimmy.’

‘Jude. What’s goin’ on?’

‘Just chillin’.’

‘Nice.’ He looked at Rosie. ‘You’re Kirsten’s sister, aren’t ya?’

Gracie smothered a smile. She found it amusing the way he broadened his accent to flirt; inexplicably, it seemed to work more often than not. It was working on Rosie, anyway; she smiled artfully, sizing him up. 

‘And you’re Jimmy. You used to date Kirsten’s bestie.’

‘Nah - I wouldn’t say date. We used to be friends, though.’

‘Friends, huh?’ she said, in a playful way.

‘What’re ya getting’ at?’ he said, leaning forward a little, echoing her tone.

‘Oh, nothing. I’ve just heard of you.’

‘And my reputation?’

She smiled, all traces of pretended shyness gone.

‘You might say that.’

Gracie saw Jimmy relax. He knew at that exact moment that she was keen. 

‘What’re ya doing tonight?’

‘Nothing much. Why?’

‘You should come down the Pipes.’

‘I might,’ Rosie said, mustering a hint of implied resistance. ‘I’ll see.’

‘Sweet,’ he said, standing up. ‘Carn, Gracie. Let’s beat it.’

She followed him out, saying bye to the two girls as she passed. They pretended not to hear her.  

Older, more mature (?) Jimmy

So in Arity, Jimmy is older, but he is still a clown. As I said above, Arity is also like him - and this is my first attempt at showing the chaos of a conversation between two idiots. I'm not sure I am happy with it, but this is where it's at right now :)

A minute later, a guy came in from outside, shutting the door behind himself. He looked at me and cheerfully said, ‘Good morning.’

I replied with a non-committal ‘Morning,’ and went on drinking my coffee.

He said humorously, ‘Not even a good morning? Hard to believe, when we live in this paradise.’ He gestured with an expansive, vaguely theatrical arm, indicating the Lodge and perhaps Langarrin as a whole.

'Living the dream,' I said, very dryly.

There was nothing else to pay attention to, so I found myself listening to him pouring cereal then milk into a bowl behind me, before making coffee. He was humming half under his breath as he did it – I couldn’t identify the song.

To my surprise, he came and sat opposite me. I looked at him with an eyebrow raised.

I was struck by his face – he had what I’ve always called a kind face, complete with dimples; though he was otherwise just an average looking guy – hazel eyed, dark-haired, tattooed, in his late twenties or early thirties. 

He said, ‘I’m Jimmy,’ and offered his hand over the table. 

‘I’m Arity.’

‘Like hilarity without the hill?’

I snorted. ‘Yes, just like that.’

‘Weird.’ He took a mouthful or cereal, then set his spoon down with a wrinkled nose. Reaching for the honey, he squeezed it all over the contents of the bowl. ‘Were your parents hippies?’

I shook my head. ‘Nah. It was the name of the street my dad grew up on.’ He looked at me quizzically, and I smiled. ‘You think you’re the first person to tell me it’s a weird name?’

He shook his head, then through a mouthful of food, he said, ‘I’m just glad you’re not a hippy, since we’re friends now.’

‘Are we?’ I said, chuckling at this approach. He was weird, and I appreciated that. ‘I’m not sure I agree. I need to know what you have against hippies first.’

‘They don’t shave their pits, of course.’ 

I hadn’t expected that answer, and I snorted.

‘What do you care about your friends’ armpits? Besides, do you shave your armpits?’

He twinkled at me – an expression that was at once mischievous and approving – of what, I wasn’t sure.

‘Maybe I do.’ He drank the last of the milk in his bowl then set it aside, before adding, ‘I do hang out at the gym. Gotta shave to really see that muscle definition.’

I looked him over pointedly. ‘What muscle?’

He looked at me as though I’d struck him a mortal blow – but the smile never left his eyes.

‘Really? Is this how you go about building friendships?’ He tutted, shaking his head, ‘Arity, Arity, Arity.’

Dryly, I said, ‘Observations of fact are worse that slandering an entire sub-culture’s grooming habits, now?’

He gave me a playfully dirty look, but didn’t answer as there was a beep from his pocket, and he took out his phone. He was quiet for a moment, tapping out a message.

I went back to staring at the french doors. I wondered suddenly why the textured glass had been put in. The room would’ve been nicer without it, looking out onto the garden.

He set the phone onto the table. ‘You know I don’t mean it, right?’

‘Don’t mean what?’

‘About the hippies.’

‘Oh,’ I said, taking another drink of my coffee before, looking at him from under my brows, I added, ‘I did, about the muscles.’

He was doing his best to suppress his laughter and said sternly, ‘You wait. That’ll change. I’ll be so built I’ll be able to pick you up and fling you across the room.’

I wide-eyed him, and said in a pitiful voice, ‘But why would you fling your brand-new friend around?’

He scoffed. ‘Why else does a man get strong?’

‘To fling his enemies?’

‘I have no enemies to fling.’

Dryly, I said, ‘You’ll have no friends, either, if you start treating them like that.’

The laughter at last bubbled up out of him, and he stood abruptly.

'Dammit, you’re too quick.’

I smiled. ‘Checkmate.’

He scowled at me without any seriousness at all; but there was the sound of voices from reception. One of them was Kristy’s.

Great.

‘That’s my cue to leave,’ he said, knocking the table twice with his knuckles. ‘Until tomorrow morning, Hilarity.’

So - that's an intro to Jimmy and Arity, I guess. Jimmy does have more depth than either of these descriptions really show. He's been through it, but he's one of those people who uses humour to deal with everything.

Hmm... Since it isn't published anymore, I can post the whole Freeway chapter about Gracie and Jimmy (which is functionally a short story, more or less) if anyone is interested in knowing more? It's the only part of the novella that I think is worth reading, to be honest, hence the unpublishing - even though it's far from perfect.

Anyway - I have no idea if this is insightful to anyone else, but it's super fun tracing this stuff from my end 😀 revisiting old work, dragging these fools from retirement to hang out here for all to see... Not that Jimmy minds - he's down for anything honestly 😂

Happy Hallowe'en!

Hallowe'en isn't really a big deal where I am (in the UK) but I know the US loves it so if you're celebrating/dressing up/having a party/trick or treating, I hope you have a good time! I have university in the morning (I’m old but I’m doing a Master’s), so all I'll be doing is watching Hocus Pocus in the background while I check through my prep work! 😄

Anyway, on with my normal posting!

The family decided to have a lazy Saturday at home. The girls spent the day in front of the TV, discussing fashion and shoes, while Tanner sat quietly and happily next to them.

Charlie spent some time on his hobby, which had been neglected for a long time throughout his teenage years. While painting, it clicked for him that this was something he could do to earn real money when he moved out.

I could sell my paintings to everyone! he thought. They could use them to decorate their houses and I would earn money!

Smiling at the thought, he continued his painting.

As evening approached, Gracie asked Ramona if she could go out.

"Just to the playground or something. I want to meet some other teens!"

Ramona shrugged and nodded. "Okay, honey. Don't stay out too late!"

However, the only other teen at the playground was Stephen. Gracie was already BFFs with her brother's boyfriend and had been for many years so they hung out lazily on the swings and chatted for a bit before Gracie headed home.

Updates on the other siblings! just felt like checking back in on the others.

First is Carley's family. Their kids are standing oldest to youngest left to right. Kenneth, Salvador, Maxwell, India, Gracie and youngest Nicole who was born right before this picture was taken (just in game play lol) Carley was worried about being able to afford having so many children so fast. But as the church they attend and work for has grown they've thankfully been giving Trent consistent raises and it's not as much a worry anymore. Kenneth has been giving his parents trouble recently has he's been more focused on his homeschool co-op's soccer team rather than his actual homeschool work. Maxwell has also been reprimanded several times for stealing toys from others houses. Trent and Carley are praying feverishly for the watcher to break these behaviors. The rest of the children are doing well and are fairly boring

.

Asher and his little family are doing great they have a great work-life balance at their current teaching jobs, and emma goes to the same school. They are finally looking towards buying a house. Their daughter Emma has very limited interaction with both of their families, but they do make the drive to San My to hang out with Rebecca from time to time. They also adopted a dog, and her name is Emma2, and can you guess who named her? Things are going well for them, and they are still progressive watcherists.

Rebecca and Annabel are still living their best lives! They've been able to move into a very swanky apartment and are enjoying being child free. Annabel is one of 3 hosts for a popular fashion talk show, and Rebecca has just sold a screenplay that is expected to do just as well as her last 2, which became very popular movies. They are both so happy that they escaped their fundie upbringings and even talk about it in interviews from time to time. They are most of all happy and lucky to have each other.

Leah and Ismael are getting closer to having their first kid, and that's all.

Malachi is loving his life as a physical trainer at a popular gym. For now, he's just living alone. But he has been going on a ton of simda dates

Dayton and Denise have settled nicely into there new lives in San Sequoia they have both been experimenting with their looks and enjoying more freedom at their new church. They've met up with Rebecca and Annabel a few times and while their relationship isn't as close as it used to be but their working on it. They have also just found out that they are expecting their first child and are so excited!
