okay so i think they were really close as kids then as teenagers fought a lot and as young adults never really worked through all of that so it was mostly vaya pretending xe was okay with vamos's life choices and vamos pretending fae wasnt at all hurt by anything vaya had said or done in the past decade. so they could stand to be around each other they seemed really close from the outside but like it wouldn't have been hard for the facade to fall apart yk.

so then post comics the vs break up and the two of them really do try to stick it out together but all their unresolved issues + having no one to keep the facade up for it all falls apart really quickly and they go their seperate ways. VERY seperate ways, they hardly even talk or know where the other is for like. 5 or 6 years, maybe longer

in that time vamos moves out to zone 6 far away from everyone everything (except a mailbox, she writes to volume a lot) and settles down. not really relevant to the story but she also has 2 cats their names are vixen and venus <3 anyway she teaches herself all about tailoring and that's her job the lower level of her house is actually a shop of sorts but she also sells a lot at a market maybe half an hour away since her house is so out of the way. they patch clothes tailor them to fit better add embellisments like w/e they're commissioned to do and even make clothes from scratch sometimes though thats mostly for themself and old friends.

vaya on the other hand is kinda all over the place. theres so much in the zones and so much in the city once it gets rebuilt a bit so shes not as keen to settle down. i think xe does a lot of self reflection and such in that time i think xe has a lot of internalized transphobia anger issues ptsd all the things to work through and xe does the best xe can so when xes out at a market in zone 6 and hears about a seamstress that seems pretty familiar xe feels like xes in a place where xe can at least try to visit without all xyr old issues fucking things up before xe can even start talking yk. at worst her sibling can at least know shes alive

so thats what xe does!! and to xyr surprise vamos doesnt immediately slam the door in xyr face and they sit and talk for a bit its very strained and awkward but they talk and vamos even invites xem back if xe wants to come have dinner in a week or so. and thats as far as the story got i think i was just gonna try to figure it out from there

not really?? there are characters I don't write from the perspective of because I don't feel like I have a very good grasp on what their pov would look like but there's not any characters I actually dislike writing about

Jet or Poison: sorryyyy but I gotta go with Jet

Jet vs Poison: hmmm it depends. Jet definitely has the advantage with being physically stronger and also better with pretty much any weapon but if Poison's fighting for someone like Kobra then do not underestimate them

Jet + Poison: definitely platonic, I think they definitely did Not get along at first but slowly went from disliking each other to begrudgingly accepting that the other is mildly okay i GUESS. to being okay with each other to being friends. from the outside its kinda hard to tell they always seem a little cold toward each other but sometimes you catch them cuddling together or something similar. i can definitely see why people like jetpoison tho!

i have SO MANY least favorites lmao HATE one of the most popular characterization for the four. yknow the one. mama jet chaotic ghoul etcetc HATE when people assume the four are the first people to do anything ever HATE when people accuse you of misgendering characters bc you dont use the pronouns someone else uses for them HATE how people dont bother to keep track of whats canon and whats fanon and then get mad at you for not following fanon. that just scratches the surface lmao

i think this is less of a general fanon thing and more of a specific section of the fandom but I love random ocs/characters mentioned like one time in twitterverse that get absorbed into some people's canon. blind diamond my beloved <3

I feel like people would assume that he's not very affectionate but he's very physically affectionate and he buys things for his crew all the time like nail polish for Vaya or new (not chipped) bowls/plates/etc for Volume when he has some extra money

his mask and jacket was very important to him for years, he was very careful to keep his jacket clean for a long time but post comics he gets rid of both of those and mostly just wears casual very normal/nondescript clothes and he steals borrows Vinyl's clothes all the time

he doesn't have any tattoos. he has a scar on his shoulder from getting shot and top surgery scars

he's afraid of losing his family and even though he would never admit it one of his worst fears before the war ended was to be caught by bli. usually if he's feeling threatened he'll get more aggressive but depending on what it is sometimes he just freezes. I don't think anyone really finds him scary

Val is actually a nickname! It's a little hard to explain but in the zones first/middle/last names don't really exist (there are exceptions of course but for the most part). Having a two part name is more similar to having a hyphenated first name than it is to having a first and last name. Like with a hyphenated name both names are actually your first name but you usually just go by one and it's the same thing for killjoys. Besides that he doesn't really have any except Vinyl uses a lot of pet names for him after they (finally) get together

7: have they ever been heartbroken?

Yes. The first time he'd rather not think about but the second time is kinda complicated, it could be considered a second, third, and forth time but it all kinda just blurs into one big thing and that would be losing Volume, losing the Nest, and the V's splitting up.

8: who do i ship them with?

Vinyl <3

14: what’s their favorite childhood memory?

hmm probably meeting Volume. maybe that doesn't count as childhood because he was 12 (or around there) but he doesn't really like to think about much before that because there weren't very many good things

Vamos used to always tell every undergrad that came to the Nest that the reason he wore his mask all the time is because "yknow how people who're blond have no eyebrows cuz their hair's so light n they look stupid? y'know how he has white hair? y'know how that mask covers his eyebrows? do I need to say more" and fae did that for YEARS before one day he overheard her and threatened to kick them out of the V's if fae ever did that again (he wouldn't actually and she knew that but still)

likes working with his hands especially taking stuff apart and putting it back together. he's definitely made quite a bit of cash fixing people's broken vend-a-hacks. those are kinda his specialty and even made one from scratch once but he does work on other stuff like the Trans AM (with help from Jet) and radios and he loves showing the Girl how everything works and would explain it to her even when she was too young to understand what he was saying

☮ - friendship headcanon

Ghoul is definitely his best friend (besides Party) and they cause Trouble they're both really good with mechanical things but theyre also dumbasses (as Party would call them) so when they work together it's guaranteed to either be amazing or a complete disaster
