Emmersen, nearly falling out of his chair to squint back at Petyr: this motherfucker knows I can do magic

Here's some more weirdly specific but helpful character building questions because I tagged the person who made the list on the last post and I don't want to keep flooding them with notifications
***What simple activity that most people do / can do scares your character? Horseback riding. He's always wanted to try, but because of his legs, he's never gotten to try. At this point he feels like he's too scared to try it.
***What do they feel guilty for that the other person(s) doesn’t / don’t even remember? The events of the tourney at the wedding between Lord Ambrose Butterwell and one of Lord Frey's daughters that lead to the Second Blackfyre Rebellion. It's not so much that people don't remember what happened, it's more that there's no way for Emmersen to mention his involvement in it without revealing who (and possibly what) he is. Even if he was only 10 at the time.
***Did they take a cookie from the cookie jar? What kind of cookie was it? He 100% stole like five cookies. They're all shortbread with raspberry jam filling. (You should have seen the big dumb grin on his face when he found them)
***How do they respond when someone doesn’t believe them? If he's telling the truth and is accused of lying, Emmersen will immediately get angry. If he's lying and caught? He's still angry, but he hides with a smile it and doubles-down on the lie.
***When they make a mistake and feel bad, does the guilt differ when it’s personal versus when it’s professional? Yes. If Emmersen messes something up for work? He's fine, he can fix it, no matter what it is. If it's something for a "friend", he's the same way. But if he messes something up for one of his very small circle of actual friends? The guilt eats at him, keeps him awake for days, makes him physically ill until he finds a way to apologize.
***When do they feel the most guilt? How do they respond to it? Like I said in the last answer, if Emmersen even feels like he's betrayed someone he's actually close to, it can make him physically ill for days.
***How do they greet someone they dislike / hate? He'll pretend he doesn't hate them, all smiles and jokes (though if you pay attention you'd notice Emmersen's eyes are closed every time he smiles at them. he's not aware he does this) - unless they've really hurt him. Thankfully only a couple people have done that, and those people have, by this point, all passed away.
***How do they greet someone they like / love? Someone he genuinely loves? He'll shout their name and, if he's in his chair, he'll sometimes excitedly clap and/or bounce in place. Emmersen is also a hugger. If you tell him no, he'll cry.
***What is the smallest morally questionable choice they’ve made? The smallest? Probably his uninvolvement in every Blackfyre rebellion/fight/etc after he was tricked into helping trigger the Second Blackfyre Rebellion, as well as his unwillingness to help those who wanted to stop all current and future Blackfyre rebellions. Emmersen was bitter at being tricked and used, and he stayed that way for a number of years. He separated himself from all of it and watched everything unfold. Emmersen's not sure he could have really done much to help either side, but sometimes he wonders.
***Who do they keep in their life for professional gain? Is it for malicious intent? Just about anyone he calls "friend". He's found that when people like you, they tend to give you discounts or they'll be more willing to pay more for something. He feels a little bad manipulating people sometimes, but, he always reminds himself, he needs to eat.

Emmersen, about to waste days on some bullshit: "If I set this up as an obvious and shitty parlor trick they'll never suspect that I actually can do magic! It's foolproof!"
Petyr, frowning at the obvious tells Emmersen intentionally set up for people to find and realizing that means he's trying to hide his Real Actual Magic: I'm about to ruin this man's whole career

WEIRDLY SPECIFIC BUT HELPFUL CHARACTER BUILDING QUESTIONS from @judasrpc but I'm gonna post 'em in chunks probably cause WHEW
***What's the lie your character says most often? His own last name - House Blackfyre is supposed to have died out, so Emmersen had to take a new one - Waters.
***How loosely or strictly do they use the word 'friend'? Very loosely. Anyone he's had a conversation with for whatever reason will be greeted as a friend from then on. He doesn't actually consider anyone his friend until he meets Tyrion and Jaime.
***How often do they show their genuine emotions to others versus just the audience knowing? Emmersen has been masking his emotions for so long that he's not even aware he's doing it anymore.
***What's a hobby they used to have that they miss? Magic. It's believed to have disappeared entirely, so he can only practice it in private. Because of that, his skill with it has been fading.
***Can they cry on command? If so, what do they think about to make it happen? He can't, unfortunately. It frustrates him that he has zero control over whether he cries or not - it's his most problematic tell when he's lying.
***What's their favorite [insert anything] that they've never recommended to anyone before? It's a childhood food he never learned how to make himself. It was a fairly common food, but given how long Emmersen has been alive, all records of it are gone now.
***What would their best friend and/or romantic partner yell in the middle of a crowd to find them? Lightfoot. It was a rude nickname other kids had given him when he was younger - Emmersen's legs have never fully worked, he couldn't walk without some kind of support, and most days he couldn't do so much as stand. His movements were slow and noisy, thanks to his braces and crutches. It used to hurt, but over the years he's found himself growing fond of the nickname, though he's picky about who gets to use it.
***How loose is their use of the phrase ‘I love you’? He refuses to use it. He'll usually say something like "I appreciate you" instead. His refusal to say "I love you" makes it a bit difficult for him to manipulate people sometimes.
***Do they give tough love or gentle love most often? Which do they prefer to receive? Emmersen thinks he prefers gentle over tough love, but as his relationship with Jaime progresses, he finds himself preferring tough love at all times.
***What fact do they excitedly tell everyone about at every opportunity? Blacksmithing. Literally anything and everything about blacksmithing. If you don't stop him, he will trap some poor person into his hyperfocused blacksmithing rant/infodump. Unfortunately, Emmersen is the world's worst blacksmith. There's not a single step in the process he hasn't screwed up ten times over.

***If someone was impersonating them, what would friends / family ask or do to tell the difference? Anyone who knows Emmersen closely knows he never asks for help. It doesn't matter if what he's trying to do is literally impossible for him to do from his chair/crutches, he's not asking for help. He'll accept it from strangers who don't know better, but he struggles to hide how angry it makes him.
***What's something that makes them laugh every single time? Be specific! Dark humor. Doesn't matter how horrible the joke is, Emmersen will lose his mind at it.
***When do they fake a smile? How often? Not to be dramatic but all day every day. He's got some form of depression, along with having outlived the rest of his family and knowing he'll continue to outlive any new families he makes…it's hard.
***How do they put out a candle? He just blows it out like normal. Though he has been working on a trick that makes it look like he can put out a candle with his eyes.
***What’s the most obvious difference between their behavior at home, at work, at school, with friends, and when they're alone? Before he met and became friends with Jaime and Tyrion, the only time Emmersen's behavior would change was when he was completely alone. It was the only time he could fully drop his mask and just let himself feel. After they become friends, and Emmersen slowly gets more comfortable around them, he starts to unmask a little. He still hides a lot from them, but he's a little more open.
***What kinds of people do they have arguments with in their head? Honestly anyone who badmouths the Targaryans and, by extension, his house. Which is unfortunate - sometimes he's almost convinced everyone knows who he is and they're just trying to get him to slip up and reveal himself. It really doesn't help his paranoia.
***What do they notice first in the mirror versus what most people first notice looking at them? Him: His hair. It's long and always dyed some shade of purple or another. At this point it doesn't shock anyone anymore, a few people even help find purple flowers when he needs to redo the color. He'll never get used to it though. Others: His chair/crutches/leg braces. People tend to stare when they first meet him. It's ok though, he understands how strange he looks. He (usually) doesn't get upset about it.
***Who do they love truly, 100% unconditionally (if anyone)? haha, the entire reason for this oc is to ship him with Jaime Lannister. So uh. there you go
***What would they do if stuck in a room with the person they've been avoiding? He would sit silently in the corner furthest from the person and stare at them. His face would be blank and unreadable. Is he angry? Scared? Who knows!
***Who do they like as a person but hate their work? Vice versa, whose work do they like but don't like the person? Emmersen has trouble separating art from artist, and struggles to hold opposing ideals at once, so he's not sure if he's going to far when he thinks House Bolton should be wiped out...
