    THE BANETTE GLANCES up at the boy, still and silent as a statue until he eventually tilts his head before turning his gaze downwards. Moments later, a voice creeps into the back of his head.

«❝Kid, if you were readin’ any malice from me, that probably would’a meant you would have to start runnin’. Or try to, anyway. Dependin’ on your definition, I might not be a ‘normal’ Banette, neither.❞»

    The ghost’s head tilts back up, his tail swishing lazily from side to side.

«❝Askin’ me to choose the most cherished memory I got is like takin’ me to a garden and tellin’ me to point out the best flower. Girly’s my trainer, sure, but she’s my best friend before that. But, just for you, I’ll dig one of ‘em up. Let’s see...❞»

She decided she was feelin’ good and brave enough to take a walk outside’a home for the first time, so we decided to take a walk, yeah? The moon was full, and the stars were bright. We ended up strollin’ through a field of wildflowers... I got to see her get excited over experiencin’ all the little things. Feelin’ wind in her hair, seein’ her breath fog up, gettin’ to sit in the field and look up at the stars with only the Zubats an’ Kricketots for company... I’ll never forget the way she smiled when she finally knew she was free.❞»

What any kind of Pokémon need is love, especially our misunderstood friends. “ Cue a pause and a kind grin. “My mother is fine with me exploring. Besides, I’m on a mission of sorts to find more ghost and psychic Pokémon. I believe that their energy and friendships are the key to connecting to everything. It’s like there’s ley lines, which may explain why I can sometimes see fairy Pokémon.”

He finished what he was doing, dropping on treats in his usual spots, ❝ I’m an ice type trainer but I believe all ‘mons should be treated with some love and respect. ‘Sides, my partner tends to chase the ‘bout. Figure I’d apologize to them for that. ❞ To be fair, his Sneasel chased anything that moved for sport. Ghost pokemon were no exception to this rule. 

❝ Right… I suppose you’re at that age to be lookin’ for your own ‘mons. Forget most people do it pretty young. ❞ Now the kid was starting to lose him. Energies? Seeing things? What? He made a small face, stuffing his hands into his jacket’s pockets,

❝ Thought everyone could see fairy types. I’ve never had any issues with them. ❞

"They're usually in the underbelly of a city. Every one in a while will they leave the dumpster or so to seek their oppressors. While they feed of the negative emotions of people, they're really sweet. You just have to look past the energies that they give off." Quite a chatterbox he was. It's an acquired interest that many may find eccentric.

“I see! Seems you’re quite knowledgeable in the ways of the Banette.” Matthew says with a smile. “Are you a Ghost-type trainer, perhaps? Seems people with a love of Ghost-types are a dying breed these days.”

He couldn’t help but chuckle at his own joke.
