Clari!!! I just read the new Touya-nii piece and it was perfect!!! Oh my god. I cannot explain to you how close to home this was for me. Loving an addict is so fucking hard and you have been able to express that feeling through this piece perfectly and I’m just in complete awe of you honestly. I loved the dynamics of touya’s siblings, how natsuo held the reader and comforted her while touya was recovering. And like Fuyumi holding her while Touya and natsuo argued. The way they all treat her just makes me so soft🥺 And shoto staying with Touya!!! That was such a sweet moment to read and it’s also so interesting considering that this took place before the Christmas series! I also loved the scene where the reader was talking to enji like watching her have that power over him was incredible just cause it’s rare to see her act that way with anyone else!! God this was just really well written and so interesting to read and it answered a lot of my questions about enji and his relationship to his kids in this universe. You’ve done it again my dear!! AH YES i want to talk about shouto staying with touya, actually!! for shouto, i really wanted him to, for once, NOT be entirely the bad guy in this. like canonically dabi hates his guts ofc but dabi hates his guts BECAUSE of enji. and kid touya is even able to go ‘alright so obviously it wasn’t little shouto’s fault and i totally shouldn’t have tried to kill him, but it isn’t MY fault, either! it’s dads!’ so going off of that in canon, for this piece i wanted enji’s presence to really shatter touya to the point where he’s seeking comfort in his baby brother at his absolute weakest moment, because it’s THOSE TWO that know how truly abhorrent their father is; it’s those two who have suffered the most.

as such, that singular “shou,” is really important, because it’s touya trying to go “shouto, he’s here, shouto, he’s going to hurt us again if we aren’t careful” and only shouto understands what he’s saying, only shouto understands ALL that he’s saying in that singular nickname that he RARELY uses with him. after the OD, shouto kind of has to stay with touya since natsuo’s the birthday boy and all that, but they kind of silently bond over this shared trauma in that moment.

in regards to reader standing up to enji: basically, we all know that she is extremely submissive and obedient; that's just WHO SHE IS as a person for the most part (something touya greatly took advantage of and exacerbated) but despite this, if there is ONE THING she's going to stand up for, it's the one person who matters more to her than anything else in the world; it's the one person who IS her whole world. so she gets this almost uncharacteristic surge of pure anger and hatred towards this man without even knowing the full story/history, just knowing that he's so deeply hurt her world, and permanently scarred him (both figuratively and literally) for life.
