Tumblr history, trends and celebrations are the best!
Celebrate the idea of March?
HELL YEAH
Start a book club and try to avoid spoilers about a book coming out 120 years ago?
Of course
MAKE AN ENTIRE FAKE MOVIE BECAUSE WE GOT BORED
WHAT ELSE WERE WE SUPPOSED TO DO???
Anyway, please let me know your favorite tumble holiday/inside joke. I’m a tumble history junkie and sometimes there is stuff I didn’t know happened.

I searched goncharov on youtube to see if anyone has made any fancams of it yet and instead i was recommended a documentary about Scorsese by the royal ocean film society lmao

personally i’m just waiting for someone to try capitalizing on this whole fake movie thing in some way
it’s a proud tumblr tradition by this point for whatever collaborative storytelling project were working on to be swept up in some kind of dubious fundraising scheme

IDK if I’m a Katya/Sofia shipper. I know in the deleted scenes show that Katya faked her death, and she and Sofia escape together. I don’t know how I feel about that being canon.
But, for me, I just don’t see Katya as a person who is really capable of being truly happy. This happy ending she gets with Sofia feels like it cheats the nature of her character (which is why I think it was cut in the end, though I do like the idea of her being out there and alive).
I love Katya. It would be great for her to find peace and happiness. But, I’m sure, where ever she is and what ever she’s doing, she’s haunted now by Goncharov as she was during the bulk of the film by her father. And that just feels truer to her as a character to me than any wish-fulfilling ending she could have with Sofia.

Everyone make conflicting plot point analysis a d face claims for gorvachov. I’ll start shooting if I see “inspired by the internet sensation”. Getting fucking weirder about it.

The goncharov meme is the perfect introduction to modern tumblr culture actually. Only Nov 5th could top it.

next time we make up a movie we gotta make it a LOT more wacky
we're making ALL of it up why not go a little more ham, there's a reason several people have pointed out that the vague plot concepts/relationship dynamics people are creating for this concept already exist in other films
#cast converses#gorvachov#like i hesitate to critique what i'm seeing because the people creating content are IMMENSELY talented#but like...taking a step back#the appeal is just that it's all made up and not real#if it were a film that actually did exist it'd be. just like most other films that actually exist#where's the HOOK

#gorvachov#lost media#seriously cannot be left unsupervised for 20 minutes#don’t feed tumblr after midnight they’ll invent a fake movie and fight over it

Did I plan on getting interested in the movie that doesn't exist? No. Did I see homoerotic fan art for it and decide maybe it's worth it to pay attention? Yes.
"what's tumblr like?" "well currently the majority of the userbase are writing synopses and critiques for a movie dreamt up by an old shoe"
