Semi-Public Sex (Akechi Goro)
Tumblr media
TAGS: Goro/F!reader, semi-public sex, smut, drabble Ao3 ver.
“Make sure those moans are only reserved for me, dearest. We wouldn’t want any unscrupulous individuals hearing your melodious voice...especially when there are so many people around us”
Though Goro Akechi was lauded as an upright young man due to his status as Tokyo’s ‘ Detective Prince ,’ what he was currently doing is the last thing any outstanding youth in his position ought to be committing.
From an outsider’s point of view, the brunette was simply standing behind you as you faced the corner of the packed train, acting as a barrier between all the other bodies and your own. Such actions could only be seen as that of a good boyfriend, one who loved his girlfriend so much that he’d be willing to protect her from everyone else.
As expected of Goro Akechi after all.
But...if only they noticed your labored breathing, the shiny blush of pink on your cheeks, and how you would wiggle your hips every few seconds. Had any of the other passengers done so, then perhaps they’d have put two and two together especially with how the detective’s hips were seemingly glued to yours even though there was enough space for him.
You trembled during the whole train ride, trying hard to stifle any sounds from spilling out lest you be found out. How the hell could you ever show your face in public again if people knew that Goro was balls-deep inside of you right now?!
“You’re doing a stellar job so far. If you keep this up...I’ll reward you once we get home~”
And like the serpent that tempted Eve, you could only pitifully nod as an angelic smile brightened up his handsome face.

love triangle with ren & akechi
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: goro akechi / crow x gn!reader x ren amamiya / akira kurusu / joker
tags: competitive!goro & ren, tons of jealousy, wholesome fluff, rivalry, clingy!akechi, supportive!phantom thieves (of ren)
Tumblr media
both boys have a small crush on you at first, but after noticing that the other one is interested in you as well, their rivalry extends to you!
akechi and ren almost act normal when they're alone with you. but as soon as the other one is added to the equation, they begin flirting with you, just to annoy the other one!
both boys also try to one-up each other at anything they can to impress you! whether it's dart, pool or baseball, they can't help compete at everything there is
and there are also quite a few times where you'll be dragged into a discussion over how just the phantom thieves are or if your favorite detective prince is the true just one!
it's always akechi starting those little competitions, but ren is never too shy to try and win any competition akechi starts!
akechi is the more jealous one, which is why he tries so hard to impress you and become your favorite! but ren isn't much of a fan of seeing you too close to akechi either…
it's incredibly obvious that the two boys like you! yet both believe they are so sly, especially akechi. but everyone around them, including you, knows they're in love with you…
akechi is the clingy one, due to his constant jealousy! he likes to take you to his public appearances, to start rumors that he's dating you
meanwhile ren has the support of his friends when it comes to you, who are constantly trying to set him up with you!

Joker,Akechi,Futaba,Haru x GN!Reader
You made a doll out of them, time to make them think they're one with it
N: I need those idv skins bro every ask is 5 bucks/heavy j. This post shall multiply my luck by 10 fold no 100 fold!!! I WILL GET FUTABA I WILL GET HARU I WILL GET FUTABA I WILL GET HARU RAAAAA
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"That doesn't look like me" you pick up the doll and widen it's arms "where my hug at?" Imatating his voice, he goes to wipe his eyes, hitting his glasses, yet still doing the gesture. "Son?"
He would smush his face, twiddle with its hair, all the gestures you'd do to him. "Is my face really this smushable?" He pinches the cheeks of the doll. "Yea" you pinch his actual cheeks
He'd actually treat it like his son. "Why are you doing his laundry?" The doll stares at you with a towels wrapped around its head and waist it's clothes swashing around in a small kids washing machine. "Where did you even get that?" "A friend sent me an address on where to find em" it's silent as you watch the washing machine whirr. "Sooo" "soon I'll teach how to do it himself" he goes to wipe his eyes, only to hit his glasses again and still going through with the gesture.
Don't make him new clothes...either of them. His first thoughts when you show him the dolls new outfit is ask where to find the human sized versions. "It's just clothes you already have" you put headphones around the dolls neck "I don't have those" you find them instantly showing them to him. ".." "you can match with him" he would send you pictures of him smiling wider than a cartoon character with a matching outfit to the doll
Morgana would accidently talk to the poor doll instead of him. "He's so werid right mini joker?" The doll stares into oblivion "I know right" he'd have deep conversations with that doll, you accidently made Morgana a ride or die partner
Tumblr media
"How amusing" you show him the doll holding it up by its hands. "It's you" "it isn't it dosent have any physical resemblance to me" you look at the doll and look back at him. "I think this is your long lost good twin"
He'd stare at it if you weren't in the room. It's soulful little eyes it's little smile. "Akechi why are you in a roll of tape?" He turns thinking your speaking to him only to see you pull his imposter out of the tape.
He'd wouldn't interact with it much besides tying it to celling fans, eventually he did examine it. The attention to detail was top notch, the parting of his hair the details on his clothes. He caught himself smiling at these features. "I see you're growing fond of him" he almost throws it but instead hides it behind his back. "I don't know what you're talking about"
You can't be away from minikechi, the life sized one would bring pictures of you three. Either to use as proof as you mearly breathing near the doll, or because he misses you and the doll was just in frame. "I wasn't touching him" he smirks "really now?" "Yea really" he pulls out a picture of the doll falling on your face. "He fell on me that's gravity"
He's gonna open a seam at one point. Maybe a lot depending on the saw traps he gets put through. He takes this as an opportunity to try and learn how to sew. "Okay wear this" you place a thumb cap over his finger. "What's this?" "It's so you don't poke yourself" he'd take what he's learned from you fixing the doll and minor clothing repairs to "pay you back" by fixing torn things that could be fixed via stich. Would complain after and that's how you know he did it. "That took too long for just a few stitches" "don't use a whole wingspan worth of string next time"
Tumblr media
"NOOOOOOO" her scream of anguish would have vibrated the house "I KNEW HE WAS RIGHT" "right about what?" "REN SAID YOU CAME INTO HIS ROOM AT MIDNIGHT TO STEAL MY HAIR AND PUT IT IN A DOLL" "I wasn't there for your hair" "oh" "I was there for answers he forgot to send them to me so I put whipped cream on his hand"
She loves it, convinced to make it a tiny ufo. She'd look up a little too many paper 3d sites to make one, finally finding one and barely able to put it together, she had to call the one person she knew!! "INARI!!" "I'm a painter, I'm afraid I may only be able to help with design and not overall structure" he still comes over to help tho
UFO SET UP, mini futaba put in! Yusuke praising it to God, and the mini futaba totally not being held up by string so she doesn't stress out the paper (suggested by you) "it's cute" your famous last few words before seeing a white spot on the ufo "oh you missed a spot-" "INARI NO"
She'd try to make her own doll of you. "3d printing y/n!!" She giggles to herself as she stitches carefully around the dolls head, she's continue to hype herself up, and then come to leblank like a zombie
The doll replaces her at video calls. Sojiro calling? "Dolltaba speaking!" "Can you tell Ren to get up" "Okey doki!" Sojiro had to get used to it, not like he could tell her to stop either she just went harder taping a printed paper with her face onto the doll so she could keep using it for Webcams.
Tumblr media
"Really?" Her eyes widen when the doll looks at her. Touching its features. As long as she doesn't look down you can convince her the doll and her share consciousness
You'd catch her trying to tone her skills with it. "Haru?" "Yes?" "Why are you glaring at the doll like that?" "To practice my skills" she stares even harder at the mini haru. "You're gonna pop a vein" "all in a days work" without a secound of hesitation you speak up once again "are you trying to explode her with your mind?" Her eyes widen, her head nearly snapping to you and back at the doll staring even harder. "Alright that's enough no mind explosions" "but y/n!" "You don't have powers"
"Would you like tea?" The dolls 1000 yard stare answered for it l, you pouring it pretend tea. "Truely a spleaded tea party" "indeed" you both extend your pinkeys to a painful degree. You two would enjoy actual snacks while leaving nothing for a doll, this would sadden her. "We should buy doll food" "Haru her mouth is string how is she gonna eat?" "Are you familiar with the plastic food for kids toys?" Finally the doll could join in being an estimened guest
There's hair matienece..for both. At the same time. "You have more curls than a lala loopsey doll" you carefully comb its hair "I should stop using yarn" finish it up with a plastic hairclip that totally wasn't from a discount store and she'd nearly instantly ask for the same thing. She'd come to school with a diffrent sweater to match the hair pieces making Ryuji think she had been switched with ghost
The only person with a near perfect condition doll. Because she keeps mini haru in a case. "Haru I appreciate the fact you care to keep her clean, but she's being held hostage" "your right.." You sigh, thinking she's agreed with you. "I'll need to buy her a home!" Your eyes shoot open, too late now you're already assembling mini Haru her own home. Atleast she lives rent-free

Someone you cant have
Tumblr media
HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLO :D god its been so long for me to check ur blog and i have been meaning to send rq form last year but sadly i was to shy for that :,) im so happy ur still uploading and doing well 😭 but may i request a reverse part for "Someone you cant have" now with akechi ?
~anon
Goro Akechi x Reader ~ falling for their rivals significant other <Jealousy, mild reference of yandere!Akechi, mentions of murder, etc>
KABDKDBDK thank you for sending in a request!! Sorry to keep you waiting for part two after all this time lolol. Hope it was worth the wait <3 As always I tend to write using they/them pronouns for the reader insert unless requester specifies. Mentions of names will be y/n.
———
Something about you had captivated him from the first meeting.
A stranger who sat next to him on the train when there were tens of open seats. Who looked at him with eyes that begged for help from a creep following you around. Who whispered a promise of a warm meal once the whole debacle concluded. Who he willingly went into the streets of Shibuya with, against all his mind and stomach's better judgement.
"Thank you," you said to him with the most sincerity he's ever heard from a person. "I couldn't make it up to you enough. Where do you want to go? I’ll pay for everything.”
Sincerity... that's what it was.
You were so open and true to yourself it was almost frustrating. He chalked up your kindness at your first meeting as a one off instance brought about by unsavory circumstance. But even after, at your unexpected dinner for two- you were just so, so honest.
Honest in the way you expressed the troubles in your family life. The difficulty handling the troubles in your school. The troubles of romance you've found yourself in. You were charming. Funny. Interesting.
Which is why he didn’t mind exchanging phone numbers. It’s why he didn’t mind more dinners and more train rides. It’s why he didn’t push away the kindness you’d show him and the gifts you’d give him. It’s why he started reciprocating the acts.
And it’s why a funny feeling started to grow in the hole in his chest- fighting against the urge to put all of his attention into his mission. Interest- is what he called it.
Love, is what it really was.
When you mentioned a boyfriend he was disappointed. He of course saw it coming, after you’ve spent nights complaining over growing feelings and him giving you advice in turn. But Akechi was fine with the disappointment, and he was fine admiring you from nowhere closer than across a table. Akechi would be fine just admiring from a distance.
Coming soon, he’d complete his mission and he would never see you again. Akechi chooses to ignore the bitterness that comes along with that last idea.
The more the dinners and gifts and kindness occurred, the harder his fall was to ignore. His gifts started to get more and more romantic when viewed from a certain lens, his stares started to get more and more longing. But as noticeable as it was, Akechi couldn’t help himself. You, in all of your kindness, funniness, and all of your interest, were a brevity of light in his hell of a life.
-
One night, you show up to dinner and say you’ve got a surprise for him.
“Oh? What’s the occasion?” A butterfly flies around in his chest and he can’t help himself but smile. Sincerely, he smiles.
“I wanted to thank you, for all the advice and help you’ve given me these past few months,” you look into his eyes and it makes his heart flutter. “Let me go get him really quick.” You stand up so quickly and he doesn’t have any time to register what you just said. Akechi sighs as he watches you leave the restaurant.
You come back and Akechi has to physically hold himself back from lunging at Ren.
Ren, who you hold hands with. Ren, who’s smiling after you. Ren, who looks at him with surprise. Ren, you boyfriend.
“Akechi?” He says, eyes widening.
“Ren.” He replies, gripping the table underneath him.
Of course.
Of course
Of fucking course.
“Oh! I didn’t know you guys knew each other,” you clap your hands with a smile, seemingly not noticing the glares emanating from Akechi.
Ren’s arm finds itself on your waist and Akechi wants to scream. “Yeah, we’re friends,” Ren’s tone is casual as he smiles at you.
“Mmhm, you could say that,” Akechi forces out a smile so insincere you can’t help but question it.
“I didn’t know Akechi was the one buying you all those gifts, treasure,” Ren says.
“And I didn’t know Ren was this boyfriend of yours, y/n,” Akechi sneers.
“Ah, sorry I never mentioned names to you guys,” you chuckle, honest to a fault. Unaware of the smugness growing within your partner. Unaware of the heartbreak that falls upon your friend.
Ren goes onto explain that you wanted to introduce your two favorite boys’ to each other after months of talking about one to the other. That this dinner, which was supposed to just be you and Akechi, was going to be intruded on by Ren. He says it all with a smile that makes Akechi want to throttle him.
What a lovely surprise, Akechi thinks.
He tries to keep his cool despite the anger clawing at his chest. Betrayal from you for not telling him that this piece of garbage was your boyfriend. Envy towards Ren for having yet another thing Akechi longed to have.
Dinner concludes quicker than you pictured as Ren has a curfew to abide by. He leaves the restaurant to wait outside, you wanting to talk to your friend.
“You seemed uncomfortable with tonight, I’m sorry if I pushed this on you Akechi…” one glance at you shows all the truth in your statement and Akechi hates it.
He hates that he’s let himself trust in your honesty, in your gifts, in your dinners, in your kindness- he hates your truth and he hates this clawing in his chest.
But what kind of friend would he be if he left you feeling so guilty? After all, you’d just run into his arms afterwards.
“I was just surprised, is all. I’m sorry that I made you upset,” Akechi smiles, insincere once again.
“Are you sure?” You look at him with the most curious eyes, “I’m sorry if I made things weird by introducing him, really.”
“Please, don’t worry about it,” Akechi attempts to console you by putting a hand on your shoulder. “I’m just happy you’re happy. After all this time of complaining, haha.”
Your hand meets his and squeezes it slightly. “Thanks Akechi, it really means a lot.”
He takes one more look at you, holding his hand and smiling so, so genuinely at him.
“Anytime, y/n,” He says.
You leave the restaurant with Ren and he sees him pull you tight as you walk away. He sees the way you stare at him, lovingly, in a way that you’ve never looked at him. He sees you go to intertwine your hands. He sees Ren hold your chin and bring your face closer. Akechi looks away.
Admiring a distance is bullshit if he’s just watching you be stolen away by him. Admiring from a distance would be fine if it was anyone other than him.
It’s just gonna be one more reason as to why he needs to plant a bullet in your boyfriend’s skull.
———
Ren's part, it kinda sucks because it was before my writers glow up ehehehhehehe
Hope you enjoyed it! I got so excited writing for my pookie Akechi that I ended up finishing this in an afternoon lolol. Also I ended up placing an order for persona merch because of this JFDSJJKFADSFJ. I just love my baby he's my forever boy <3
Let me know how you guys think I characterized him!! I love my babby rsfwaeajfjrewo

Hi (\(*꒪ヮ꒪*)
can I request a poly Relationship with Goro and Akiren (And if you don't write poly then can you do love triangle?)
Pls take care of yourself and have small breaks and Don't stress about your request!
Have a nice day ₍₍◞( •௰• )◟₎₎
Goro Akechi x Reader x Akira Kurusu
A/N: AGHGHGH thank you so much anon your so sweet :) this is my first time writing a poly relationship so i hope its ok!
Warnings: Nothing really!! let me know if i missed anything!
Word count: 298
Tumblr media
honestly its crazy
they are CONSTANTLY competing for your full, undying attention. its kind of tiring. you can never catch a break, especially when they are CONSTANTLY bickering.
sometimes you have to go mom mode and like pull on there ears and tell them to get along
there are some nice times though
you guys go on nice dates together because Akechi and Akira actually have quite similar tastes
you guys go to Jazz Jin quite a bit, and its one of the few dates thats actually relaxing because there both sipping away at there drinks and enjoying the calming environment.
you get FLUSTERED SO EASY and ALL THE TIME
by themselves there both such flirts, but together ITS UNREAL how quick they can make you a flustered mess.
somehow they compliment each other so well, and there bickering quickly turns into flirtatious comments directed at you.
the only thing the get along about is you. they will be at each others throats, and then a second later there both talking about how cute you are with hearts in there eyes.
you almost never get to go on solo dates. Akechi is really possessive and jealous, and Akira just acts like an out right baby when you leave him out. "You don't love me anymore, do you Y/N?". Akira will definitely whine a lot, but Akechi will just send you both dirty looks.
its really fun to spend time with them though.
like watching movies?? the funnest. especially horror movies.
Akechi is busy talking about how bad quality it is, and how the story isn't nearly elaborate enough, and Akira is busy guessing who the killer is even though he's almost always wrong.
over all, its really fun, but its also VERY crazy and kind of tiring.

Hu tao , Amber and Kujo Sara with an innocent looking s/o when in battle they ace crazy and ruthless like Akechi in persona 5 royal when showing his true personality
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Since I can't exactly make a post with 9 characters, I'm just picking the two I can think of something to write
Them with an innocent looking reader that turns out to be a merciless fighter
characters: Kujou Sara / Yelan x gn!reader (separate)
warnings: mentions of blood, although nothing graphic, reader commits some... rather over the top acts of "not exactly being goofy" (I mean, cmon, you can't expect them being the sanest of the bunch when they're compared to goro akechi)
a/n: Idk if you planned on sending me this request the moment I was done with p5r, but I have to applause you for the timeing.
Also, I'm so sorry for those people finding out about akechi not exactly being like he seems through this request, Idk how to hide the spoiler in the ask.
Anyway, hope you enjoy!
Tumblr media
Kujou Sara
Sara knew how trouble looked, she had to deal with it on an almost daily basis with that oni running after her, demanding a rematch even though the winner was already clear, but whenever she looked at you, she saw a person that wouldn’t be able to harm a fly. And while she would never dare to say it out loud, looking at you always put her mind at ease, the same way others might have relaxed when seeing a cute dog doing nothing but existing.
So when she heard about how the road you frequently took was being blocked by a couple of thugs, her first instinct was to assemble a group as quickly as possible and try to clear it out before something were to happen to you, only to arrive just in time to watch you beating them into submission and seemingly enjoying every last second of it.
“...y/n?”, Sara couldn’t help but utter your name, completely dumbfounded by what she had just witnessed, only for you to dust off your clothes and turn to her with the same innocent smile you always wore.
“Oh, hey Sara! What are you doing here?”, you asked after noticing the other soldiers who looked just as surprised as their general, all of them having known you for a long enough time to have felt certain of your nature.
“Oh my- Sorry that you have to see me in this state, my clothes are completely dirty… I don’t know if I’ll be able to get the stains out of this- they just had to offer a fight on the one day I decided to dress in my favorite clothes…”, you apologized after following her stare back to your bloodied clothes, letting out a frustrated sigh as you inspected your shirt.
“That’s not- How- D-doesn’t matter. I’m just glad you’re unharmed”, the general’s voice betrayed her shock, only for her to quickly regain her composure.
Seeing you escape unharmed was a huge relief, even if she would be lying if she said what she saw wasn’t at least somewhat worrying…
…what worried her more however, was that her heart skipped a beat or two while watching you show such strength.
Tumblr media
Yelan
Yelan, being Yelan, didn’t need long to find out about your… change in behaviour when embroiled in a fight. After all, she couldn’t call herself an expert at reading people if she couldn’t even figure out someone this close to her.
Luckily for you, she quickly figured out that you going rogue only ever happened when you were attacked and never when you started a fight, causing her to confidently put you into the “no harm for innocent” box.
It also had the added upside of basically having a guard dog with her on every mission who didn’t hesitate for even a second to throw themself at any criminal stupid enough to try and harm her, and sure, while she would have been easily able to handle them herself, Yelan was the last person that would complain about not having to do something tiring.
“That’s enough”, Yelan finally put an end to your ‘advanced method of self-defense’, causing you to immediately get up, leaving the treasure hoarder to solemnly reflect on his decision to threaten you. That was if he was still conscious. “I need him to answer my questions later”, she explained further after seeing you send her a questioning look, her, as usual, mysterious voice refusing to betray any emotions.
As she bent down to inspect the person lying on the floor, you finally managed to calm yourself down, feeling the usual mix of shock and disappointment as you looked down at your knuckles, sighing as you looked for a bit of water to wash them, before making your way back, scooping the criminal up and taking his weapon, which by now laid several feet away from him, in case it could be used as evidence or something of those sorts.
“I know he began it by threatening us, but I can easily handle a dozen of them on my own, so at least try to refrain yourself from going overboard next time. The last thing we need is for word about a mysterious figure beating up people in the middle of night”, she told you off, only for you to nod as you continued to look down, causing Yelan to put on a soft smile.
“Good, now let’s get this done and over with. I have a pair of new dice and you look like just the right person to test them with.”

Over Here || Goro Akechi x Reader
Word Count: 1.6k Pairing: Goro Akechi x Reader Note: requested! female reader! you caught me in a good mood cause i was recently reading some akechi fics ehe and i was honestly feeling like i wanted to write for him.... the amount of love i have for this silly <3
Through the windows of the car, the various buildings and streetlights go by quickly. The soft thrumming of the air conditioning was all that could be heard, along with the muted sounds of traffic outside.
On your right, is your boyfriend. He is currently looking out the window, with a hand under his chin and the other is intertwined with yours. He rubs his thumb mindlessly on your hand. Its soothing to say the least, and it calms him more than anything. You move in your seat to reposition, and your boyfriend is alerted.
"Are you alright, my princess?" Akechi turns to face you, studying your face. He reaches out to caress your cheek. You welcome the gesture.
"I am fine. Just a little nervous," You take his hand into yours, and put it on your waist. You leaned unto his chest, and he repositioned so you are comfortable in your semi-cuddle.
"I am sorry, my sweetheart. I do not feel comfortable leaving you at home at this time, especially with the rise of crimes right now," he was apologetic. He would very much prefer a situation where you are both comfortable and safe, but it wasn't possible right now. How he wishes he could give you just that.
"It's alright, I understand," you gave him a smile and a peck on the cheeks, "I love you."
He smiles, "And I-"
The car partition rolled down.
"We are here, Mr. Akechi," the driver interrupted your sweet little moment. You frowned, and Akechi chuckled.
"Let's go, my princess."
/./
As you were walking down the hallway, hand-in-hand, Akechi reminds you of a few things.
"I will need to keep up appearances, so I am going to greet a few people. Sadly, I cannot bring you with me so I am going to need you to stay somewhere. If you ever feel uncomfortable, just call me, I am one of your emergency dials, right? Or maybe-"
You pull on his arm to get his attention, and turned him to face you. "Goro, Goro, calm down. I will be fine. I'll stay by the bar and get some food."
He was very much troubled still, "Are you sure? I will make sure to keep you in my line of sight. I will also come by should you signal or call me."
"Yes, I am sure. And I will keep what you said in mind."
Akechi sighed, and brings you closer together so that your foreheads are touching. "I am really sorry, my princess."
"Don't be, I will be fine. I have my phone and powerbank with me. That should keep me entertained for an hour or two."
Akechi chuckled, "What are you? A kid?"
"Okay you know what, I am going." You dramatically separated from him and pretended to leave, slowly putting one foot in front of the other to further your point. Akechi laughed, and reached for you.
"I'm joking, my love. Thank you for coming with me and understanding my side."
You face him, and give him a kiss on the nose. "Of course, I love you Goro."
"I love you too, my [Y/N]." You both share a tender kiss on the lips, but quickly pulled away.
"We will have to enter separately, I will wait for you by the bar before I go to mingle, though."
You nodded, "Okay."
/./
Akechi stayed true to his words, and waited for you by the bar. Once he sees you, he nodded and left. A silent exchange between the two of you. You ordered some food, and took out your phone.
The party was semi-formal, but it did include a few key figures. There were some low-level politicians, and some minor celebrities, but it was mainly businessmen trying to engage in a new business venture or find new connections.
At least, that's what Goro told you. He was invited because it was a direct order from his boss, whoever that is. But it also made sense since he is a celebrity and well-known detective himself.
You took out your earphones and put only one ear in, to drown out some of the noises.
A little while later, a guy approached the bar and ordered something. You were one seat apart from eachother so you paid him no mind, but then he noticed you and smiled.
"Hey there," he started. "What's your name?"
You did not bother to look up from your phone, "[Y/N]."
"Ah, beautiful name for a beautiful girl."
/./
From the distance, Akechi was talking to a businessman that approached him, convincing him to model his products. He was trying to turn down the guy, but then realized he actually makes high quality beauty products. As he was talking, he noticed a man that's probably around the same age as you and him, approach you.
Before you arrived at the bar, Akechi talked to the bartender to keep you safe, promising him a huge sum of money just to take care of you. Of course, he is still watching over you so it was more of a backup plan than anything. Nobody takes care of you better than he does.
"What do you say, Akechi-kun? I could give you a lifetime supply if you only model once." The older businessman he was previously talking to asks him, pulling him out of his thoughts.
"I will have to think about it," Akechi politely smiles, wanting to go to you right away as he notices that the guy is suddenly engaging in conversation with you. You do not seem to pay him mind, though.
"Ah, well if that's what you say. Here's my business card if you change your mind." The businessman quickly leaves to god-knows-where. Akechi was about to go to you, but was quickly greeted by another.
"Akechi-kun! May I interview you for a moment?"
/./
The guy next to you moved a bit closer to you, now sitting on the chair beside you. "So why are you alone by yourself in this amazing party?"
"Interacting with people is not really my thing," You answered, still too enamored by whatever it is you are doing on your phone. The guy seemed frustrated at that.
"Does that mean that I'm interesting enough that you are talking with me?"
No reply from you. The bartender finds this whole thing amusing, but then remembered what Akechi said. "She's clearly not interested. Don't try anything."
/./
Akechi tried his best to answer the reporter's questions, and once he was finished he decided to make his way to you. He has received intel on some of the suspicious figures in this party, and a few side gig offers. You can both leave, and cuddle at home. God knows how much he needs it.
Since your relationship is not public, and he wants to leave it at that for your own safety, you both agreed on a code word that will tell you when it is time to leave.
As he approached the bar, he takes the place beside you that is unoccupied. You noticed his presence, and straightened up a bit. He hears the guy beside you say, "Do you want to go dancing?" He swears he almost wants to punch the guy, but is extremely proud that you do not even bother to look up from your phone, "No thanks."
"Hello sir, may I pick up my tab? It has been a long night." Akechi says, and you understood what that meant. It was the signal.
"Ah, somebody is calling me. I have to take this," you say as you place your earphones in your small pouch and stood up to leave.
"May I have your number?" That guy. THAT GUY. He had the audacity to ask that question when you have not even dared to look his way all night. Akechi swears he was-
"No," is all you say and you left. Akechi wanted to laugh out loud but thought against it. He is still in a public place after all. The other guy seemed downtrodden, but was quickly distracted when another girl approached the bar. Akechi rolled his eyes.
/./
As you both settled in the car, Akechi signaled for the driver to close the car partition to give you and him some space. The driver complied.
"How are you, Goro?" You asked, while you grabbed his face and gave him a quick kiss. He appreciates the gesture and leaned in to your touch.
"Quite exhausting, I just wanted to jump into your arms."
"Aww, we can do that when we get home."
"So... that guy who was flirting with you, he didn't do anything to you right? Otherwise you would've called me."
You blinked once. And then twice. "He was flirting with me?"
Akechi pulled away from you, "Yes? Did you not realize?"
"I... I thought he was hanging out at the bar because he did not feel like socializing... Like me?"
Akechi was bewildered, but then quickly started laughing. You were seriously confused, but smiled upon hearing your boyfriend's laughter. Atleast he's happy?
"My love, my princess, my [Y/N]… You never fail to entertain me."
"That's... a good thing right?"
"Yes, my princess. But that guy was clearly flirting with you, and the fact that you did not even stop to look at him was so laughable. That should have been a sign for him to stop."
"Oh, I don't really care for him... Especially when I have someone like you, Goro."
Akechi blushed, and looked away. You hug him and whispered, "I love you, Goro..."
"I... I love you too." He says with the utmost sincerity, and wraps an arm around you. "More than you will ever know."

everything.
Tumblr media
*everything: all things; all the things of a group or class.
pairing: akechi goro x f!reader
a/n: i... i love him.
Akechi Goro had dived into your life and stolen everything.
The first moment you laid eyes on him, you’d fallen in love with him. Everything that had been nothing more than chance, a meeting that by all rights never should’ve happened, only to turn and find him in Leblanc the next day. It hadn’t taken long for Akechi to worm his way inside of your life and take over every inch of your being.
He’d become your whole world.
And, unfortunately for you, you’d thought he’d felt the same.
-
You’re already running late to school when you feel your body, rather rough, smack into another.
You would’ve lost your balance had a pair of arms not reached out with a quick reflex to grab you, hold you steady and stop you from embarrassing yourself even further when it processes in your mind just who exactly you bumped into.
Akechi Goro wasn’t hard to identify, but he certainly had been the last person you’d expected to run into that morning on your way to school. The sight of him is jarring, enough to send you into what you can only assume is a fumbling baboon of a mess, blinking back at him, wide eyed and lips agape, as his touch on you registers.
It seems he realizes it too because in the next second, he’s abruptly pulling his hands back, letting them fall to his side in an almost practiced movement. His lips are curling into a polite smile, eyes crinkling with a warm that seems to pierce right through you.
It takes you a moment to gather your bearings.
“O-Oh, I’m so sorry. I wasn’t looking where I was going and I’m late and–”
“It’s quite alright,” Akechi assures with a simple tilt of his head. “I wasn’t paying attention either,” he assures, “I hope you’re alright?”
You feel like a little girl with the way your heart races at his words, cheeks warming in a way you’ve not felt before as you quickly wave your hands before yourself, adamantly shaking your head. “No, no,” you rush to explain, “I’m totally fine. I… I–” But you don’t know what to say, and you already feel like an idiot for how much of an embarrassment you’d made of yourself. “I really am sorry.”
“Like I said, water under the bridge,” he grins, but it doesn’t quite reach his eyes. It’s such a wide grin and yet so vague, so… empty. It pulls you from your over revere, pausing even as the smile fades and Akechi makes a movement like he’s moving to leave. “Well, I should be on my way.”
Blinking, you nod; “oh, yes, of course,” shuffling to the side, you bow slightly at the waist; one final attempt of showing your apprehension before watching you walk off. He offers one final wave before completely turning his back to you, head straight and never glancing back. But, you? You stay there, all thought of being late to school leaving your mind as you watch his retreating back, unable to ignore the way your nerves feel like they’re lit on fire.
Or the way he’d grinned at you.
So empty, so… fake.
-
You’re on your way to Leblanc the next day.
The group had agreed to meet there to discuss your next actions regarding what to do about Makoto and the threat of her revealing your identities as the Phantom Thieves. It was rare that the six of you met there instead of your regular spot, but it had been short notice and with Morgana and Akira already being there, it seemed the easiest.
Only, you don’t realize how early you are until when you step inside the rather quiet cafe, Ann nor Ryuji nor Yusuke are there, and instead sat in one of the stools of the bar is Akechi himself with Akira stood on the other side, an apron adorned.
You pause at the door, eyes wide as both pairs of eyes fall on you.
“Oh, it’s you,” Akechi smiles, barely phased.
Akira’s brows furrow; “you two know each other?”
“Not really,” Akechi shrugs, “I ran into her the other day. I didn’t know you two were friends though.”
“Y/N.” Akira smiles, meeting your eyes. “We go to the same school. Same grade too.”
Akechi eyes fall back on you then, eyes lighting up with recognition; “ah, yes, you were wearing a Shujin uniform that day.”
Blinking out of your stupor, you step forward, clutching your bag tightly; “what’re you doing here, Akechi-san?”
“Thought I’d try the coffee,” he answers with ease, as if the words were practiced beforehand. “It’s nice to see you not in such a rush.”
Cheeks burning, you glance down at your feet; “uh, yes. Sorry about that again.”
Akechi just waves you off and an air of silence follows, none of you sure what to say. You’re still shocked at the mere sight of the Detective Prince, let alone in a cafe like Leblanc, and embarrassed that both times you’ve run into you’d been caught off guard.
Luckily, Akira cuts in through the silence. “Would you like a cup of coffee, Y/N?” He offers with a warm smile, gesturing to the spot next to Akechi. “I can make one for you.”
Smiling softly, you nod, moving towards the bar and setting your bag down on the counter top. “I’d love one, thank you, Akira-kun.”
You’re none the wiser to the watchful pair of eyes on your back, carefully taking in every word you say and the warmth in your eyes as you stare back at Akira. It isn’t hard to notice the way you eased the second Akira invited you in, simply calmed by his presence.
“I must be going anyways,” Akechi politely excuses himself, moving to a stand. “Thank you for the coffee,” he nods at Akira, before turning to you. “It was lovely to see you again, Y/N. Hopefully our paths will cross again soon.”
You freeze at his words, taken aback as you blink, eyes widening. You can feel Akira’s gaze on you, also obviously shocked by Akechi’s words, but he remains silent as you simply nod, only managing a small, pathetic smile when Akechi waves at you, excusing himself.
Then, a moment later, you turn to Akira. “That was… odd, right?”
“Definitely.”
-
Akechi seems to pop up more frequently from then on.
He always, somehow, seems to be exactly where you last expect him to be. He’s a constant surprise that leaves you puzzled all the more each time, but yet, every meet feels more comfortable, more natural. Akechi’s suave with his words and he always seems to know what to say, and before you know it, he’s a part of your life in the way you always seem to seek out his company or time. He’s busy at the worst of times, but he always seems to make time for you. Needlessly answering your calls, walking you home from school when you have nothing else to do.
Ryuji’s not a fan. He constantly complains about how close you are to the Detective, swearing there’s something off about him but you just shrug him off. Akechi’s sweet and he treats you well, and undeniably, you enjoy spending time with him.
And somewhere along the way, the line blurs between just friends and more.
-
To Akechi, you’re an anomaly.
Something that shouldn’t be.
The first time he sees you, something grips at his heart. Something so powerful, so intoxicating it’s impossible to ignore and painful to deny and yet, he does it all the same.
The emotions he’d felt when you ran into him had made no sense and yet, he couldn’t take his eyes off of you. Breathless, a light sheen of sweat covering your skin, hair a mess on your head, and somehow endlessly beautiful. He’d thought you gorgeous, an intimidating emotion that had left him reeling, panicked to get away and yet even as he’d left, you hadn’t left his mind.
Emotions unwanted nor needed, like jealousy at the way you’d reacted to Akira that night. The want and desperation to be near you, to listen to every last one of your pleas. You’re a poison infecting him, distracting him from his true goal – from what he needs to do.
And yet, he can’t stop himself.
What had started as a ploy to get closer to Akira, to find out more about his weaknesses, turned into him dropping everything the second you text. Wasting his time waiting for you to rush out of class just so he can walk you home. Eating with you, spending time with you doing pointless things like watching movies together, or going for a walk at the park or or or…
He can’t deny you and it burns all the same.
-
“It’s quite beautiful out, no?”
Akechi’s quiet for a moment and you don’t rush for an answer, keeping your gaze focused on the stars above as you listen to his quiet breaths.
“Yes,” he says eventually, but when you turn to look at him, his eyes are on you.
Cheeks warming, you bite your lip, letting the silence envelope you as you shuffling, moving so you’re closer. You’re desperate for his touch, to feel his heat on you, letting your thigh press against his own and your hand to fall over his own that rests on the pavement beside him. You don’t let your gaze waver, keeping it trained on his as you thread your fingers through his own, a silent breath of relief escaping you when he doesn’t pull away.
Lips parting, you exhale; “Akechi…”
His shoulders ease, relaxing, and after a moment, he whispers; “yes?”
“I want to kiss you.”
“Can I kiss you?”
He shouldn’t. He really shouldn’t.
You were a distraction, you should be nothing more than a means to the end.
But his eyes flicker to your lips and the ever pressing thought of I want to swarms every last coherent being in him. Your lips look soft and inviting and all he wants is to feel your lips against his own.
“Yes.”
You don’t waste a second. You lean forward, pressing yourself full against him, lips molding against his own in a nervous, shaky way that has his hands itching to grab you, to pull you closer, to take control. He wants all of you, now. He doesn’t want to wait. He doesn’t want to ignore it anymore. He needs you, with him, against him, a part of him.
His hands fall on your waist, tugging, needlessly, breathlessly, taking control in every way you couldn’t. You’re pulled flush against him, breath taken away as he kisses you, so deeply, so sensually, so wholly.
And when he pulls back, your lips are red, puffy and you’re breathless, as if in a day dream, staring up at him.
“I love you…” You whisper despite yourself.
Akechi never says it back.
-
His betrayal rips your heart in half.
It’s as if he takes it in his own hands and tears it apart, leaving nothing left.
You’re a shell of yourself. The group notices but they don’t know what to say.
Or rather, they can’t say what they want to say.
We told you.
He was always this way.
You should’ve listened.
But that would’ve been cruel, so they don’t say anything at all.
And you don’t say anything to them about it either.
You wallow in your own heartbreak all on your own, saving your tears for when you’re alone and save in the privacy of your own bedroom, tucked far, far away from it all.
There’s so much you want to say.
You don’t say any of it.
-
Even when he curses you all out, screams at you, says what he’s always felt, you stand there, numb, silent.
And when you hear that final gunshot, you barely flinch.
-
Akechi doesn’t expect to see you.
He hates that you’re here.
“You idiot.”
You just stand there, frowning.
“Why did you come back!”
But you refuse to say anything. Akechi watches you, eyes trained on you as you simply step towards him, kneeling before him, patching him up the best you can, never saying a single word. You shrug away his attempts at pushing you away, never even meeting his gaze, wrapping the gunshot wound on his stomach to stop the bleeding, completely silent the entire time.
And then, finally, you ask; “why?”
Akechi frowns.
Your eyes flicker up to his own, and Akechi hates the way his heart hurts at the side of your teary, red, blotched eyes staring back at him. It hurts even more because it’s because of him. You look like that because of him. Because he’d toyed with your heart, your feelings, and ripped it to shreds all without blinking an eye.
He’d hurt you.
And he hates it.
“Because,” Akechi groans, shifting to sit up despite the pain that radiates through his body. “I had to.”
You shake your head, unable to stop the way your eyes water all over again and tears pour from your eyes, a sob retching past your lips. “Did any of it mean anything?” You pause, as if afraid. Akechi imagines you’re terrified. “ Any of it?”
But he doesn’t say anything.
He just stares back at you.
And after a moment, you just sigh, moving to a stand before grabbing him, helping him to his feet.
-
“It did mean something.”
It’s a day later.
After the two of you had escaped Shido’s palace, you’d brought him home. It’s not his first time being in your house, but it still feels wrong. Your parents weren’t around as he learned they never were, and so he’s able to safely hide in your room as he heals.
It’s been completely silent since you brought him here. Akechi knows he’d passed out somewhere along the way back, but still, any of the time he has been awake, you’ve refused to speak to him. You bring him food, water, clean and dress his bandages, but other than that, you leave him alone.
He couldn’t stand the sight of you walking out that door one more time so he says what he should’ve said a long time ago.
You pause by the door, body rigged.
“You meant–... mean something to me.”
He watches you closely, eyes trained on your face as the words sink in. He notices the slight way your body eases, shoulders lowering as your grip on the door loosens, but your face is still blank, still… distant.
“You’re just saying that.”
Akechi frowns; “no. No, I’m not.”
You finally turn to look at him. Those same, sorrowful, hurt eyes staring back at him. It kills him.
“I loved you.”
“I… I love you too.”
“You never said it back.”
Akechi sighs. “I was afraid.”
Body finally turning to face him, you huff; “you tried to murder Akira.”
Akechi scowls at the mention of your oh so precious leader, and you scoff.
“You treat them like their scum.”
“They are.”
“Am I?”
“No,” Akechi says without hesitation. “Not you.”
You shake your head; “they’re my friends.”
“I know.”
Pausing, your gaze falls to your feet, slumping in defeat. “I loved you so much,” you whisper, voice cracking, “and you hurt me. You hurt my friends.”
“I know.”
“I don’t know if I can forgive you.”
“ I know. ”
Akechi thinks that’s it. He expects you to turn, walk out the door, and not come back for a while. Maybe never. Maybe you’d tell Akira and the rest. Maybe you’d rat him out. Get rid of him for good. He’d deserve it.
But you don’t.
You don’t move.
All you do is slowly raise your head, meet his eyes and whisper; “but… I still love you.”
And it’s all Akechi needs to hear.

You had been eyeing Goro all evening, he just looked so good.
Was it the moon rising? The winter sky? The ambience of the road helping him? "Fuck",you whispered under your breath.
That neck-length, wavy brown hair that brushed against his neck. His pale skin, your hazel eyes find revealing areas on his slim, and chiseled neck to kiss.
Akechi's frame sat back in the Driver's seat, one hand on the wheel and the other one on the arm rest. His maroon eyes focused cautiously on the road, until he noticed a pair of hazel eyes gazing upon him.
"Angel? Is something the matter?"
You jumped to his voice, quickly turning another direction.
"N-No, why do you say that?"
You hid in your hair. Goro's eyes left the road for a bit to look at you then returned,"You seem...Distracted."
"Maybe a little, it's nothing really." Why was he so gorgeous? You've been in a relationship with Goro for a 3 years and still shy around him. "Well, you know..If you need to vent to me Y/n, I'm here."
You nod, looking out the window. Now it was Goro's turn to adore you. His eyes lost focus once more to look at you, just for a bit. It was like time stopped, Your beautiful face, Mysterious hazel eyes, button nose, and those gorgeous two-toned lips. The way your skin illuminates with the assistance of the street lights you rode by.
He averted his glare from you because he was starting to become distracted. You were like a Deity of beauty. Goro just wanted to get you to your home quickly so you could rest as today was a really exhausting one.
Once you finally made it to your home Goro walked to your side of the car and opened the door for you.
"Here, Let me walk you to your door."
He extended his hand to you. He looked remarkably Princely at this moment. You placed your hand in his, allowing him to pull you up and on your feet and the both of you were walking to your door.
You placed the keys into the lock and with a simple twist the door was open.
"Alright, Do you need anything while im here, Angel?"
He asked leaning against the doorframe. "No, not that I can think of.."
A soft chuckle falls past his lips,"Okay then, I'll shall take my leave-" His hand cups your cheek resulting in you looking up at him, he placed the other free hand of his on your waist.
"Not before kissing my Angel Goodnight." His soft lips caress yours into a full, delicate kiss.
Goro let go and smiled at you then began to leave.
"Ah..wait!"
You reach out for his peacoat, tugging on it a bit. "Hm?" He turns to you.
"Goro, do you, erm.."
"Yes?"
"Can you stay the night?"
The corner of his lips pull up into a smile,"Sure, I have some spare clothes in my bag I can get."
You nod and Goro leaves to his car for his bag and quickly come back. He comes back and opens the door for you, leading you inside.
It wasn't long after before the both of you were getting ready for bed you were already in your pajamas as for goro? He began to strip down.
To start off he gathered all his hair, starting at his forehead and ran his hair along and into a small ponytail.
Unbuttoned his vest, those slim and long fingers began to tug at his tie. Thats when he asked..."Angel? Are you sure everything is okay?"
The both of your eyes met as you'd been caught staring at your boyfriend.
"O-Oh, Yeah..haha. Im fine",You nervously smiled, shrinking into your sheets.
You breathed out witb relief, though your heart quickened a bit hearing a light chuckle.
"Y/n, my love..what is it going to take?" There was a dip in the mattress as if someone got onto the bed with you, and that was the case.
You pulled down the comforter to find Goro glaring down at you. You make a quick attempt at pulling it back up, only to no avail as Goro stops you.
He shares such a loving and flirtatious look to you.
"Answer me, Y/n.." "Oh..U-Um– what do you mean?"
"What is it going to take?"
"Take? Take from–??"
His hands which lie on each side of your head, Find your wrists to drag them upward so you couldn't hide yourself. He held your hands over your head, pinning you down.
"Take for you to confess your feelings to me, Princess." You attempt to pull away but it was futile. You avoid his eye contact, embarrassed–
"Goro..I-"
"Hm?"
You felt a pair of soft lips caress and leave little pecks along your cheek. "Angel~",he cooed,"You're extremely easy to read, the glances, the stares."
"A-Are you serious?"
His thumbs stroke the palm of your hands as he held you captive underneath him.
Goro snickered, your face cherry-red with embarrassment,"Unfortunately, Yes my love."
A hand left your wrist and made its way to your chin, forcing you to tilt your chin upward.
You hadn't realized your free hand, so naturally it grasps Goro's suit. Silky and dreamy kisses trail up your neck. You gasp holding back a small moan, it was no use though.
The low moan made its way past your lips. A quiet little laugh surfaces from Goro's lips, in the process vibrating against your skin where his lips were.
"You know, all you have to do is say the word, Princess." Goro stops and just hovers above you,"Why'd you stop",you asked pouting.
Goro's soft and loving grin plastered along his face while he looks at what a mess he's just began to turn you into. "You've got a voice haven't you? So tell me Angel~",he cooed in a husky low tone.
"Goro please."
"Please what?"
"I need you, I want you-"
"Keep going, and I'll reward you as so~" You mentally scowl, Goro wont let you just have him.
"I want you to make love to me, and don't stop until I say so." Embarrassed; you covered your eyes with your hands that were finally released from Goro's grip.
There was a silence..then a light breeze caressing against your thighs. Something, warm slips up your sides. When you take a glimpse between your fingers, you observe Goro lowering himself onto you.
In the process, spreading your legs. Placing your slender legs on his shoulders, he toys with the elastic of your panties. He loved the blushy-like, thirsty, hungry expression plastered on your face.
Oh yeah, he was going to make sure you got what you wanted. Your legs attempt to close your legs or, trying to rub them together to create some friction.
Slithering your hand down to try and relieve some tension. Goro didn't allow it,"I thought you said you wanted ME to make love to you", He asked, while simultaneously pinning your hand back down to the bed.
"I-I did.."
"Mhm, You're not allowed to do anything to yourself Y/n."
Goro lowered himself down to your drenched heat. He glimpses up at you with those sharp and intimidating eyes. You began to buck your hips at him, in response he plants a kiss right where your panty elastic stops.
"My, my; so hungry aren't we? Y/n, you greedy Angel. I'll give you what you want my dear~ Your wish is my command." ♡. 'Good' you thought- because all you wanted to do is Fuck up that suit Goro made look so good.

Why was it so hard? Why was it all so fucking hard these days? It used to be easy: answer emails, find clients, sign contracts, write, never get the credit for it, make bank. Her fingers used to fly across the keyboard, used to scribble in her notepad at the speed of light. Nowadays, it took all the energy she could muster just to write a single paragraph. Or bathe. Or eat. Or… not do something stupid and irrational that she would most definitely regret later.
Was something wrong with her? Was she just being such an irritating little snot? An ungrateful bitch? Her career was lucrative, and this was the best time of the year, not only because she tended to get contracted more around summertime, but because this was when they all came back.
She exhaled deeply, shakily, like it was draining to do even that. It was time to turn that frown upside down, to plaster on a fake smile; they deserved it, and their moods might be ruined if they saw her like this. She would make them worry. She couldn’t do that, that’s what burdens do.
Fuck…
No no no… don’t think like that. This is the best time of the year. Her thoughts screamed at her much like the beeping of her smoke detector, the music through her neighbor’s wall, The ambient buzz of the fridge, the birds outside of her apartment window. It was all too much, too overwhelming, overstimulating. The thing is, she could handle it at first, this all-enveloping sadness. She would get lost in her own words, pages and pages of content. She loved writing. It was her escape when her loved ones could not be. It was something that was always there for her. But now… now she would rather rip the pages out, split her laptop screen in two than write another fucking word for another fucking desperately needed paycheck for another fucking unappreciative client. They always wanted their ideas put on paper, written expertly. They wanted her to make them look good. She ghost-wrote for others’ glory. Her original content, the novels she desperately wanted to be known for, the articles on topics she chose, under her own name were never published, always rejected. Writing just wasn’t fun anymore, nothing was…
Anyway, it was the best time of the year, and she owed them a smile. She stood, closing her laptop, shutting down the part of her that wrote to survive. She should be happy, not only was she seeing her friends for the first time in a year, but she would get to leave this prison of an apartment. It was messy, uncleaned for months, dimly lit, claustrophobic. It was an unhealthy environment for her in her current mental state, and she knew that, but just couldn’t quite force herself to get off her ass and just step outside. Maybe a walk, a dinner at Leblanc instead of just delivery food, or nothing at all, as had been the case a few times this week. Sojiro would be happy to see her, right? He doesn’t call, but that’s just not his style, right?
She considers it, she really does, throwing on her favorite little summer dress - light and airy, pastel yellow with the tie at the waist - but it doesn’t seem like her anymore. It belongs to someone more… pastel yellow aura-wise. She didn’t deserve it. Opting to throw on a hoodie and thin sweatpants (bordering on pajama pants), she walked into her bathroom, avoiding piles of clothes and debris. It was almost routine to avoid eye contact with the mirror at this point, not wanting to scare herself with the pallid reflection that was sure to be looking back. She’d lost weight, which normally would seem like a good thing to most, especially here in Japan where foreigners like her were often considered huge.
She simply ducked under the sink, retrieving her hair brush and doing what she could to salvage the rat’s nest on her head. They should be honored at the effort she put in today to see them! It’s more than she’d done to take care of herself in a while. That reminds her… should she shower…? Nah, by her count she’d just showered a few days ago. Her pocket vibrates, and she allows herself a second of hope, of excitement. She’d been waiting for an email from a publisher for months, and every ding of her phone was a possible fragment of joy.
An exhausted sigh escapes her throat. Of course it was a let down. She couldn’t seem to get enough of those. Woah, where did that one come from? She mentally scolded herself. The notification was a text from her friends in the group chat. She loved her friends, this text was a blessing, not a let down, and on one of the best days of the year!
… Yikes, maybe she was getting a little ungrateful.
They all had lives now: plans, schedules, classes, or jobs. The fact that they had time for the group chat or summer reunions at all should've satisfied her. But…

Makoto - 11:48 am: (Y/N) lives closer to Leblanc than any of us. You’re still at that swanky apartment a few blocks away, yeah (Y/N)? You’ll probs be there first.
Save Ryuji from this pain he’s invented lol.
*
She chuckled a bit at this. It was dry, rusty, out of practice. This felt nice. Her friends were home to her, not this prison around her, not Tokyo.
*
(Y/N) - 11:48 am: It’s hardly swanky… but yeah, I’ll probably be a bit early…
idk, no promises.
Ren - 11:50 am: Sojiro will be thrilled to see you, old man likes you more than me. Figures, I’m only like his adopted son or whatever…

The message was a joke, sarcasm, lighthearted, but it left her bitter, angry. They always did, Ren’s messages, along with Akechi’s. She’d found herself responding less and less to messages aimed at her from those two men in the group chat, and double ignoring direct, one-on-one texts from them. It hurt, to be honest, it hurt real bad, reading messages or listening to voice mails from those two. They were so rare, something to be savoured, and that’s why she could not savour them. They shouldn’t have been rare, they should be plentiful… they should’ve been something normal in her life, regular and as routine as the passing of time. Considering how close those two in particular were to her - closer than anyone else in her life - two souls she felt bound to for all eternity, the fact that they hardly kept in contact hurt.
I mean, Makoto visited occasionally though her police work kept her busy, Ryuji was never too far, Yusuke - the traveling prodigy turned master artist - made time for her, but not her two closest friends in the entire world? Akechi and Ren seemed to take their diplomas and run as far away from Shibuya as possible, and from her along with it. It left a bad taste in her mouth. Did she really mean that little to them, after everything they’d been through?
So, she ignored Ren’s message, allowing others to chime in and continue talking about meeting up, who was bringing what, and what the plans were after lunch at Leblanc.
_____
Ren sighed, tucking his phone back into his pocket after staring at the group message for what seemed like no less than half an hour, just waiting for her to reply, to say anything directly after he had, as if staring would compel her to move, force words onto the screen. Of course, she didn’t, she never did these days. He wondered what he’d done to earn her scorn, and hated to admit that it bothered him a little more than he usually allowed.
He’d noticed this starting to happen nearly half a year back, about six months after the last summer meet up. Sure, (Y/N) had stopped replying in the group chat as often in general, and certainly never started the conversation anymore, but it seemed different for him in particular, like she was ignore solely him more often. Maybe it was just his ego, his irrational anxieties maybe, and he allowed himself to think that, until it happened one too many times. He tried texting her and her alone, and was always left on read, and then suddenly there was no longer even a left-on-read checkmark anymore. Well, at least she felt guilty enough about ignoring him to turn read receipts off, he thought cynically.
He messaged all of their friends, their little group of Phantom Thieves separately, asking if they were getting the same version of the silent treatment, and they all said the same thing: that they noticed (Y/N) getting a bit quieter over text, but that they just assumed she was busy. Did she ignore them completely like they did him? No, they all answered, save for one: Goro Akechi. He, feeling the exact same worries as Ren but refusing to admit them to anyone, was awash in relief to find that this experience was not exclusive to him, but now the trouble was finding out why?
_____
She felt a bit petty, a bit immature not answering Akechi or Ren, like a spoiled child throwing a fit, but there was a part of her deep inside that simply could not bear to answer their texts or respond to their calls, rare as they might be. She’d find herself in tears, shaking if she even tried. The rational part of her brian told her that this was the chance to patch things up that she needed, that they were texting and calling because they realized she felt abandoned by her two best friends, the two loves of her life. Another part of her said that they were extremely busy, that the Phantom Thieves and their fun, mischief and adventures were in the past, that her existence and being forced to come back to Tokyo every summer were burdens, and that the more she ignored them the sooner they would realize that for themselves. Another part still said that they deserved to be ignored, forgotten like they’d forgotten her, that contacting them would lead to nothing but pain.
_____
Another buzz from her waist area. She’d thought it may be her stomach growling, as she hadn’t eaten a proper meal in at least 48 hours, but it was simply a different type of notification. Her heart beat sped up. The email app icon glowed and pulsated. She clicked it immediately, seeing that the sender was the publishing company she’d sent her latest novel’s manuscript to.
Dear (Y/N) (L/N),
Though your manuscript was excellently written and extremely unique, we regret to inform you that it was not quite a fit for our-
Her hand shook around the phone, gripping it until it hurt. She couldn’t bear to read on.
_____
She dragged her tired ass over to Leblanc, making it there before everyone else as expected. Sojiro gives her a wide grin and a hug, elated to see one of his many children he’d acquired throughout the reign of the Phantom Thieves. Knowing better than to address the stale scent of her clothing or unnatural thinness of her form, he guides her to the usual booth, as if she hadn’t sat there thousands of times, and promised the others would be there soon.
Time began to pass with her picking at her nails and checking her phone, when two women she loves so very much enter with a jingle at the door. The excitable redhead and bubbly blonde hug her tightly and squeeze into the booth.
The state of her body does not go unnoticed.
The artist enters, then the heiress. Then the future police commissioner.
The state of her body does not go unnoticed.
They were all excited to see each other, overjoyed just to be there. The cafe filled with laughter when the loud-mouthed Sakamoto entered next, swinging around a bag that no doubt contained convenience store snacks and liquor.
“Sorry I’m a bit late guys! I know you were all probably cryin’, thinkin’ I wasn’t gonna show, huh?! Ye of little faith! I brought snackies and booze!” He shouted in glee, hopping over the back of the booth and nearly into Yusuke’s lap.
“You literally said you’d be the first one here, how did you still manage to be late…” Futaba snatched the bag of snacks, incredulous.
“Well, I may have been so worried about being too early that I uh… overcorrected a bit and messed around to pass the time…” his words faded off, looking around the room at his beloved friends until his eyes fell onto (Y/N) across the booth from him. “Jeez, you look like shit,” he teased, popping a chip into his mouth with a lighthearted shrug. Embarrassment flooded her visage.
“Ryuji!” Ann slapped the rowdy blonde’s shoulder in reprimand. Of course he, the blunt and outspoken soul he was, managed to mention the elephant in the room that they all had enough tact to gloss over.
“What?! I’m just sayin’! You look ghoulish my dude. And aren’t you roasting in that fit? Black is the new pink I guess!” He laughed, mocking how her usually feminine and cheery wardrobe had been replaced by dark-colored sweats and her rigorous skincare routine had apparently given way to oil and eyebags. Normally she wouldn’t have even blinked at his words, in fact she would’ve laughed. That’s just how Ryuji was, how their group’s humor was. Normally if she looked like this, it would’ve been just a rough day, something to make fun of and laugh off, but unfortunately that wasn’t the case this time.
All of their heads turned at once as the door chimed again, signaling another arrival. Goro Akechi stepped in, hair neatly tied back in a bun and his suit in perfectly un-creased condition. He smiled that familiar charming smirk, greeting everyone politely. She felt her heart lurch. The group of twenty-somethings were all highly intelligent, perceptive after years of Phantom-Thievery, and not a soul missed the way (Y/N) refused to greet Akechi, the way she couldn’t even make eye contact with him. Ryuji, feeling the tense vibe in the air and not able to stomach more awkwardness after his poorly-received remarks and lateness, spoke up, trying to lighten the mood.
“(Y/N), your Japanese sure has gotten better huh?! You lousy foreigner! Remember how shitty it was freshman year?!” He chuckled.
“Ryuji, you haven’t heard me fucking speak in over a year,” she rolled her eyes, pulling out her phone with a dismissive sigh. Her nerves were frayed. She loved her friends so very much, but this was more social contact than she’d had in a year, and Akechi’s addition to the already overwhelming atmosphere was killing her softly.
Everyone paused, some shrinking back a bit at her biting tone. What was up with her? She hardly ever swore, and never spoke so sourly to a loved one. Again, they were an intelligent bunch, intelligent enough to notice the shift in her mood right after Akechi’s appearance.
The group continued conversing, trying to ignore the energy in the room, talking of recent achievements and funny stories, what they’ve been up to. Ann models full time now, getting a degree online on the side just to have one to fall back on. Modeling is going very well for her, she doesn’t see herself ever needing to do anything else to support her income. She works hard, harder than many other models and actresses her age. Futaba also attends online classes, but takes it very seriously, passing with flying colors while maintaining her love of hacking, otaku culture, gaming, and tech. She lives on her own now, more confident and competent than ever. Yusuke travels the world, selling art to private patrons, repeat clients, visiting galleries as an honored guest, never thinking his art is good enough but not as hard on himself as he was years ago. Haru is on the road to earning several degrees and the owner of her own little line of cafes that will surpass Leblanc in her heart someday. She was often at business lectures and meetings internationally, and doing anything to better her skills and not become her father.
Why couldn’t (Y/N) achieve what they had? Why wasn’t she out there thriving, snatching her goals by the throat and manifesting victory?! Why didn’t clients want her original creative works like they wanted Yusuke’s? Why wasn’t she content being an independent homebody like Futaba? Where was her drive like Haru and Ann? Holding back tears, she scrolled through her phone silently with an uninterested farce glazed across her face. Almost emotionless. Did she even give a shit that her friends were here? They were starting to wonder. She was usually the healer of their group, the mother, the mediator, the support. She always had advice, a shoulder to cry on, a wealth of funny anecdotes, something to keep the conversation going. Maybe shit was just changing… Maybe the saying that people change after high school was true. But… they were supposed to be the Phantom Thieves! Thick as thieves! What had gotten into her? Some of them were starting to feel a bit guilty for not checking up on her in person more often.
Akechi, ever the practical, analytical mind, fought hard to bite back his irrational jealousy, his negative thoughts. He’d been trying to change, to grow, but something was telling him that she was only here to see Ren, that she was in a foul mood because he wasn’t here yet. They’d both had her heart for years, a bit of a rivalry, and his immature feelings of possessiveness and ugly envy reared their head subconsciously at times. He had to take a breath, remind himself that Ren as well as himself had been getting the cold shoulder from her, Ren had confirmed as much. His jealousy was unnecessary… but man, did he want her attention, to hug her, feel her-
The door burst open, a messy mop of black hair and glasses rushing in, dripping sweat.
“Sorry I’m late! Lots of little delays and-” The group spared no time swarming him, Futaba scooping Morgana from his large backpack. They missed their esteemed leader, the one who recruited and united them the most it seemed. Well, he always did seem to be the main character of his own story. They all barraged him with questions and warm embraces, Sojiro taking his things silently with a smile to prepare his old room upstairs for his summer stay. Akechi fell back, noticing the way (Y/N)’s fists shook, the way she stood, bypassing the group and sneaking out the front door.
So he was right after all, her issue was with her seemingly-former two best friends, not the entire group, and now just with him. His presence disturbed her, and Ren’s pushed her over the edge.
Once the fuss has calmed down a bit, The detective pulls his long-time rival aside, a discussion blooming quietly in the corner. Ren half scoffs, half chuckles at how predictable his tawny-haired friend could be. Straight to the point, comparing her behaviors toward the both of them, theorizing why she seems to hate the two men she once loved the most, deciding to confront her and no Joker you don’t have a choice you’re coming with him.
The two men make their way outside, one with steeled nerves, a level head and a plan should a conflict or argument arise, one just wanting his best friend back to her normal self, and the detective pales to see the streets around Leblanc void of her completely. He didn’t like carefully thought out plans going to waste, or not getting his way.
“Where’d she go?” Ren shoved his hands into his pockets. “Thought she just stepped out for air?” He sighed, dreading everything he foresaw in his near future. Something was up, and he was feeling like he was going to have an awkward and miserable summer vacation or lose a best friend forever… maybe both.
“Well I don’t know, she’s obviously not here. You scared her off it seems,” Goro’s arms crossed over his chest impatiently with a false calm tone to his voice.
“Now now, you said she was already peeved before I got here… ‘cause of you.” The raven-haired male, seasoned to Akechi’s little jabs, replied in kind, never thrown off of his game by something so simple anymore.
“Well, she didn’t leave until you showed up,” Akechi seethed.
“I think we both know her issue’s with both of us…” Ren snaked his hand into his pocket, pulling his phone out before grunting in frustration. “Well, no, I guess I can’t just call her, can I?” he mumbled, hand coming up to scratch his neck in stress.
“Well, we’ll just have to go retrieve her, now won’t we!” Akechi brushed a hair up and out of his face, walking off in the direction of her apartment.
“Where are you- ?”
“We going, old friend! She still lives in that same old place,” he gestured vaguely through the air, “ - oh! Or don’t you remember even that?! Some best friend you are… Anyway, I assume she just headed home, she doesn’t talk to me anymore - as you well know - but the others said she never really leaves her apartment these days.” The judgemental tone was not lost on Ren, and he stumbled, trying to catch up to the other male who was already so far ahead.
“Do you… do you think that’s it?” Ren spoke up pensively.
“What’s it?” Akechi replied as the other fell in step.
“ ‘ Some best friend you are’... that’s what you said…” Akechi’s ears perked at this. Was there really a possibility that Ren was coming to a realization before him?!
The two men, never ones to get mushy with each other of all people - one far too proud and the other just not one to share his heart’s contents with many - engaged in a conversation far more genuine and emotional than any they’d had in years.
Was she really that miserable that she’d skip her favorite day of the year, seeing her best friends? Just slip out without a word? Was she planning to come back?
When did you last fly back to Japan to see her?
When did you?
How was her writing going?
Was she even still doing that?
Was she dating anyone?
Did she still have a crush on the both of them?
Did they still both have a crush on her?
When did you last text…
When did you last call…
By the time they arrived in front of her apartment building, they’d come to the conclusion that they were horrible friends.
Ren braced himself, preparing to step into the lobby of the building and head up the stairs to the second level where she resided, when his world went black.
_____
Swirling colors, inky blackness and red splotches surrounded Akechi and himself. The feeling would’ve tripped out anyone else, but it seemed all too familiar, and he felt at peace. Their vision swam, and they reached out for each other in a moment of weakness as they seemed to float, feet swept out from under them. When they were finally able to regain their footing, their mouths fell agasp, looking each other over with a sense of both nostalgia and horror.
“What the hell are you wearing?!” Akechi grasped at Joker’s black coat, eyeing his red mask and gloves.
“Back at you,” Ren… Joker replied, looking around at their surroundings.
“No… it can’t be. We haven’t - it’s been years!” Akechi marvelled at his Phantom Thief regalia, the same as he remembered it. He huffed. “I can’t believe we wore this, that my cognition has not altered this awful garment since the last time I visited the Metaverse.”
“Yeah… what a blast from the past, huh?” Joker held out his hands, wondering where all the time went. The memories stored in those gloves, the things that mask had seen. That was the best era of his life… and she was there for all of it, right beside him. With that thought, his goal was shaken back to the front of his mind. “Akechi… is this…?” The men both looked around once again at their surroundings. Shadow-like beings skulked around dark corners, chains clung to the ankles of their slithering forms, barred cells lined the walls, greater shadows dressed like demonic police-men stomped around with their chests’ puffed out.
“A palace…? Yes, it would seem so.”
They snuck about, not wanting to rush into a fight after years out of practice. What persona would even pop up? Would that, like their outfits, stay the same? The walls around them seemed to shift, to morph around the shadows, trapping them like inmates behind the bars. They phased in and out like ghosts, the pair avoiding them like the plague. Gathering intelligence about their surroundings - the who, what, when, where, and why - seemed like the best choice for now. They didn’t have to wait long, however, as the nightmare around them quickly started to reveal itself.
They spotted a shadow that looked uncannily like their old gym teacher, Kamoshida stalking by, shouting to every other minor shadow that would listen. That was him alright, they could tell by his voice, though his form was more monstrous looking and spooky than it’s real-life counterpart. He spat venomous gossip, something about a “stupid American” student, some ugly foreigner who talked funny. His shadow approached ones that took the forms of young girls, pretty peppy things wearing Shujin uniforms. They ran from him, and before he could give chase, one of those superior demons, the ones wearing police uniforms, guided him forcefully into a cell.
It was then that Ren recalled to Akechi that Kamoshida tortured (Y/N) mercilessly about being a foreigner all the way up until the Phantom Thieves stole his heart and he resigned from his position. The men searched every corridor, years of Phantom Thievery boosting their stealth abilities, and took in the not-so-subtle clues. There were random items scattered about a prison yard: a Japanese III: Advanced Course textbook with the pages torn and strewn about, notebooks, journals, a stuffed animal Ren won for (Y/N) at a festival with its stuffing ripped out, coffee pots, bowls of curry, and most tellingly, on the far wall, a display case that held what seemed to be (Y/N)’s Phantom Thief costume, proudly adorning a mannequin with her weapons behind it. The men came to the realization that this was not just a palace, but (Y/N)’s palace. They shared a look of disappointment, and they were disappointed in her. How could she have fallen this far? How could she become something that they spent years fighting against, something they all hated so very much? What corrupted desire had taken her heart, so much so that it had turned her against her friends?
Ren and Akechi circled back around to find the group of shadow Shujin students looking for more context and followed them up a rusted, bloody staircase to a second, seemingly higher-security part of the prison. Two things had become immediately clear:
Those giggling Shujin shadows knew they were being followed and
They had led the men directly into an ambush.
Waiting for them at the top of the staircase was a large shadow, a demon standing nearly ten feet tall, and he laughed dramatically as the Shujin students dispersed to reveal him.
“...Yusuke…?” Ren’s brow furrowed. Akechi, with the same look of disbelief, manifested his weaponry, preparing his body mentally and physically to use his very rusty magical skill. An altercation seemed inevitable. The demonous form of Yusuke Kitagawa before them flourished grandly, blood-like paint sticking to his hair and dripping down his chest. His skin was tinted blue, standing nude save for a sash around his middle like some statue of David wannabe draped into a pretentious pose. He pulled a weapon from thin air, a long spear shaped like some sort of deadly paint brush. He seemed to, in fact, be a very caricatured and theatrical imitation of their dear friend. “Akechi, why is he-?”
“Doesn’t matter, prepare yourself for a fight. He clearly means to give us one.” Joker summoned that old familiar flame of battle inside, joining Akechi by his side.
“Ha!” Yusuke spoke up, “you really mean to fight me?! You have no hope of winning, no matter what! You’ll be either slain by my brush here and now, or subjected to a life of slavery and servitude, just as I am, should my Monarch show you mercy… not that it’s much of a mercy at all...” he mumbled that last bit, and his sash dragged across the ground, revealing a ball and chain around his ankle.
“Monarch…?!” Akechi turned to his friend, waiting for his input. Ren shook his head, now only feeling disappointed in himself. How could he have not realized? The scenery literally screamed the truth at him.
“This isn’t a palace… it’s a jail.” He sighed, removing his trusty dagger from its familiar sheath.
“I used to be a Phantom Thief, and when it no longer brought me joy, she took my heart, forced me to stay chained to the past. She will not let me thrive, will not let me become who I want to be! Every year, thrust back into this hell, this reunion like Persephone called to the underworld come winter. A pact with Hades.” Yep, that was definitely Yusuke.
They slowly but surely dispatched with the shadow, gaining back their skills like muscle memory, and without a moment to rest, were greeted by another, one that floated down from the sky like an angel defying gravity.
A shadow with blush-pink skin kneeled on the ground before them, demure and shy. A veil hid her face, and as her dainty hand came up to remove it, a ball and chain appeared, fusing her to the ground. She called out to the men with a screech like a banshee, mascara running down her soft cheeks from her eyes. The veil now removed, it was clear who sat before them.
Haru Okumura.
“Please spare me! I don’t want to fight you! She forces me to! The Monarch owns my soul, she chains me here, to defend her to the death.”
Ren and Akechi stood in shocked silence, hesitant for a moment before drawing their weapons. Haru’s innocent, scared expression faded to anger.
“I gave up my precious life and dreams to be here! She takes everything from me!” She screamed, before swirling balls of psychic magic formed on either side of her, and she attacked.
_____
With the body of Haru’s shadow crumpled on the floor behind them, the pair approached the opposite side of the large landing at the top of the stairs, where a gate had opened, allowing them access to the next room.
“Is this… really what she thinks we think of her?” Ren felt his heart breaking, and it showed plainly on his face. Akechi, having reined in his temper quite a bit over the years and never one to wear his weakness on his sleeve, simply placed his hand on Joker’s shoulder, pressing him to continue on. “How long has she been struggling with these thoughts? Why weren’t we there? Did the others know?”
“I don't know. At least we know these are just figments of her cognition, what she thinks her friends feel like, not their actual-” Akechi’s thought is cut short when a large woman, like an greek goddess, phases up through the floor, materializing in the center of the room with a golden glow to her skin, much of which is showing. Her muscles, curves, and ethereal beauty are on display as her chest rumbles with a hearty, cocky laugh.
Ann’s shadow.
“It seems that we will be fighting off each and every one of our Phantom Thief comrades. Perhaps we should go back for backup after this one is dealt with,” Akechi stretches his arm out, an ache in his shoulders forming.
“No, (Y/N)’s shadow is here somewhere. We can’t just leave her like this. She needs us now. We weren’t there before. We can do this, just you and me. We’ve been in Mementos alone together before. We’ve got this,” Ren nods to his friend, hoping to bolster his confidence and endurance the way (Y/N) always bolstered their party.
“Bold of you to assume I would even let you leave for reinforcements!” Ann’s voice boomed, the walls shaking with its volume. “I’m the most competent slave here!”
“Is that so?” Akechi stalls for time, giving Joker an opening to attack with at least some element of surprise. This demon seemed arrogant, and getting her to talk about herself might just have been the trick.
“Why do you think she keeps me chained up here?! She’s jealous of me! I’m out there, gorgeous body, powerful mind, thriving! She can’t even publish a measly book, and I’m on the cover of magazines!” She laughed wickedly, thoroughly distracted. “The bitch makes me protect her because I’m the only one who can do it competently. She’s positively envious, the useless thing.”
_____
Every battle was much the same after that: shadows trapped in this jail fought to defend it because they were burdened with that duty.
Futaba’s shadow judged the Monarch’s inability to live alone, to be satisfied with solitude and for being so clingy and needy.
Morgana’s shadow spat at the Monarch’s ungrateful and self-pitying attitude. She was a human and could go anywhere she wanted but allowed herself to remain stagnant.
Ryuji mocked the Monarch’s depression, her sunken cheeks, her loss of appetite and weight loss.
Makoto was disgusted with her Monarch’s lack of drive as of late, that she wasn’t trying harder for her dreams, not as determined as Makoto herself. If Makoto wanted a novel published or her article on a prestigious website, it already would be.
Of all of the different viewpoints and woes, there was one thing the shadows had in common:
They did not want to be in the Monarch’s life. They wanted to branch out, grow up, leave high school and the Phantom Thieves behind, and she was keeping them there.
_____
As the two approached what was clearly the throne room, the worst thing they could’ve imagined, but unfortunately were expecting awaited them.
Straddling a broken down, oversized office chair was the warden of this prison. (Y/N) sat with her head in her hands, not acknowledging their presence, tears streaming down her face.
“(Y/N)!” Joker called out, and she cringed backwards on her dilapidated throne. She twitched, shrinking into herself, and shifted, her chest shaking as a sob rolled forth from the depth of her heart. She cried aloud, still paying them no mind, as if they weren’t even there. A crown sat lopsided on her head, and adorning her waifish body was her Phantom Thief uniform, except unlike the one in the display case on the first level, this one was poorly maintained, ripped in areas, shredded, stained.
“(Y/N)! Please listen to us!” Akechi reached forth, and his hand immediately snapped back as two vaguely human-shaped figures materialized before them like smoke. (Y/N) sat up, taking notice of these two new figures, but not her real, living, breathing best friends before her. Chains formed around these figures’ necks, and (Y/N) held the other end of them, one in each hand, controlling them. The figures solidified, becoming completely corporeal, and Akechi and Ren were now staring up at massive shadows of themselves, leashed and armed, ready to protect (Y/N). The final bosses.
“This can’t be real. She can’t truly feel this way!” Ren was shaking, looking up at himself in disgust. The two guards, the shadow-selves blocking their view of her, spoke in unison:
“We tried to move on, we tried to forget her. She saw us escaping, and reeled us back into this toxic prison. She can not let go of the past. It was our fault for showing her so much love and kindness for years. Now she can not live without it. She leeches off of us. She will not let us go. She. will. not. let. us. go.” They chanted, in a trance like drones.
_____
(Y/N) awoke with a start, immediately realizing she was not in her apartment, where she last remembered crying herself to sleep. The air was clean, sterile, the walls cream-colored, and the room extremely bright. She tried to sit up, immediately meeting resistance when a hand on her chest lowered her back onto the stiff hospital bed below her.
“Woah, woah, slow down. You can’t just move all fast like that after you’ve been out for four days.” She looked to her right, where Ren sat, calm and casual in his summer polo shirt, Morgana peeking out of his bag.
“Three days… I don’t even remember coming here. How did you guys find me? I think I was in my apartment… How did you two get in...?” She looked to her left, where Goro clasped a warm hand around her feeble one. Her mind was dizzy, probably half from only having what an IV could give her in the way of life sustaining nutrients and fluids for the past four days, and half from having her jail destroyed and her heart altered. “Four days…? How-”
“We can explain everything later,” Akechi looked to Ren for confirmation of their plans. He nodded back. Maybe now wasn’t the best time to tell her she had become the very embodiment of all the things she hated and formed a jail around her twisted cognition. There would be time to ease her into that. For now, there were other things she needed to hear more.
“Jeez… four days… I’m so sorry,” she shook her head in shame. “Everyone must be worried sick. I probably ruined the summer vacation… I’m sorry.” Great, another thing she’s burdened them with.
“Funny you should say that-” Akechi’s lip twitched, a bit irritated.
“Akechi…” Ren warned, letting him know to go easy on her.
“You think they’d be worried sick? Really? Considering you think we all don’t give a shit about you, huh?” Her eyes widened, suddenly very nervous.
“You haven’t been eating right, your apartment’s a dump, your journal looks like the ravings of a mad man, you don’t bathe, you ignore our messages, and you won’t let any of us help you because you think you’re a burden. Do you know how infuriating that is, that our best friend is wasting away and thinks we don’t want to help… or don’t care?!”
“Akechi!” Ren speaks sternly, a final warning as tears begin to form in her eyes. His intense stare softens as he turns to look at (Y/N) instead. “Everyone has been to visit throughout the past four days, even Sojiro. You should’ve told us you were this depressed. I know it isn’t always easy, but to let it get this bad...”
“I-” Her voice shook, unable to form words. She’d been keeping this in for so long, and now… Akechi was mad, her friends were worried… she didn’t know how to feel.
Akechi’s anger was tamed by the guilt pulling at his heart strings as he took in her terrified expression, the trembling of her hands. He sighed, taking her shaking hand in his own.
“This is our fault as well. We should’ve checked in more. We should be here more. For nearly six years you’ve been there for us, all of us, all of the Phantom Thieves. You’ve supported us through thick and thin, and none of us noticed you suffering, crumbling away in your prison of an apartment. We all are at fault, but none of us more than Ren and I.” She shook her head at that, not wanting them to feel the guilt of her own childish feelings, not wanting that pressure to gnaw away at them like it had her. “Yes, it’s true and you know it. All of the Phantom Thieves are close, but none have the bond we three had. There was a period in time where we could tell you anything, things we would never dare say to someone else, sides of ourselves we would never dare show the world. Hell, Ren and I fought over our love for you like two jealous, bull-headed children. For years we refused to share your attention until your love forced all three of us into a trio that couldn’t be shaken. And then we abandoned you. We said ‘fuck it’ and moved on with our lives and never gave you back the love and effort and time you gave us. We weren’t even keeping up with the most basic things in your life until recently, like what you’ve been up to career-wise or how you were doing mentally. We’ve failed you.”
“Goro, please-”
“And about you ‘ruining our vacation,’ don’t worry about that,” Ren interrupted her before she could throw herself into another fit of self blame. “You’re going to be seeing a lot more of us very soon.”
“W-what?” Her heart stopped at that, a sentence she’d yearned to hear for so long.
“Yep. After I finish up my culinary degree this coming spring, I’m taking over Leblanc and moving back here to help Haru with her restaurant and cafe business. I may even be a co-partner and part owner. I’ll be living right down the street from you again, just like old times.” Ren smiled softly, standing to reach for her other hand.
“And I’m going to take up work as a private investigator here in Tokyo. Working overseas was fun and all, but here at home, I’ve already got a name for myself. I’ll be making substantially more, and I can always be hired to go overseas temporarily for a case. I want to be here, close to home, close to you. It’s time we repaid your love in kind.”akechi

dating ren & akechi
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: goro akechi / crow x gn!reader x ren amamiya / akira kurusu / joker
tags: established relationship, wholesome fluff, competitive!ren & akechi, jealousy (mutual), romantic dates, light rivalry
Tumblr media
akechi and ren still fight over you, as if they aren't both dating you already–
if you’d ask them, both boys would state that they don't mind sharing you – as long as they are your favorite!
akechi is pretty bad at feelings, but he always clings to your side and tries to do everything he can with you!
because if he doesn't, ren will steal his time with you away from him, like the thief that he is!
it's clear both boys are very jealous of each other, but they can get along too!
a team up between the two of them is quite intimidating, as they are an unstoppable force! if they want something, they will get it!
there was one time the two of them teamed up to scare off a guy that was hitting on you and you have never seen someone this scared before…
their jealousy towards each other is tame, in comparison to how jealous they get when a third person enters the scene!
dates as a throuple are very chaotic, due to the two boys constantly competing. which is why date nights usually only involve you and your designated guy, which leads to much calmer and more romantic dates!

Hurt Prompts ft. Goro Akechi
Tumblr media
[ appear ] to show up at your doorstep injured
Sauntering over to the door of your home, you definitely didn’t expect this.
“AKECHI! What happened to you?” He’s stands hunched over on your bristled doormat in front of you, holding his arm that appears to have been cut.
There are small drops of blood that land on the mat and he flinches when you gasp in fear. You immediately usher him into your house setting him on your bed.
Grabbing your emergency kit, you set it next to him and begin to bandage the wound, “How did this happen?” You question.
“I went to the metaverse… and a shadow… it ambushed me.” He groans in pain as you tighten the bandages on his arm.
You remember him talking briefly about this place called the “metaverse” and how it is “too dangerous for you”. He told you about all the things he saw that keep him up at night; the shadows, the eerie atmosphere, and the cognitions of people’s minds.
It too, scared you but you couldn’t just let him face it alone, “Please, next time take me with you.”
[ wake ] to wake up at the side of his hospital bed
AKECHI slowly wakes up after sitting in a hospital bed unconscious for three days.
He mumbles under his breath, patting the top of your head lightly, “What are you still doing here.”
He tries to remember the true cause of why he had ended up in a hospital bed but the throbbing in head helped him believe he must’ve passed out in the metaverse and you took him here.
You stir awake, lifting your head at the touch of his hand, “Oh,” you pause rubbing both your eyes to make sure it’s not a dream.
“Oh! You’re awake, you’re okay! You pipe up, smiling with joy and diving in for a quick hug. It felt refreshing to Akechi that at least someone was worried about him.
“Thank goodness…” You sigh into a smile, grabbing ahold of his bandaged hand.
[ nurse ] to take care of him while he’s sick
“You’re going to stay in bed.” You scold trying to hold AKECHI down to his bed by his wrists while your legs caged his. His whole face his red, and there are beads of sweat rolling down his face.
“I have a big interview, it can’t wait.” He sounds congested as he kicks and complains, his tone telling you to not test him.
You click your tongue, “Uh, yes it can.”
Tucking him into his bed sheets, you make sure he is snug under the layers of blankets. He stops resisting, and finally accepts that he’s going to miss his interview.
He chuckles as you take his temperature with the thermometer and place a cool rag over his forehead, “Fine, just because I wouldn’t want to worry you.”

“ — VIDEO KILLED THE RADIO STAR ! ”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
VERSION 1 ;
You knew Goro Akechi wasn't who he claimed to be.
In truth, he wasn't the second coming of the Detective Prince—Hell, he was hardly even a detective. How could he be considered one when he created the cases he solved?
In the same manner, you weren't the average Shujin student who just-so-happened to be friends with the victims of the Phantom Thieves' known targets.
You were both actors, in a sense—playing the part of someone else to appease the other party. You were both lying through your teeth, claiming ignorance to the inner workings of the Phantom Thieves of Hearts. Akechi knew you were one-hundred percent involved with the Thieves of Hearts, but at the same time, you knew he knew more about the Metaverse than he let on.
You were there that day, after all—when your class took a trip to the TV station.
The second years at Shujin had to pick a destination for their field trip and most of the class, knowing the famous Goro Akechi would likely be there, picked the TV station. Sure, half of them had no interest in the Television industry or how it functioned, but they could ignore all that boring stuff if it meant they got to see their idol. You weren't opposed to the trip—it did actually seem like fun, being on TV and all—so you chose it, too.
Then, on June 9th, you followed your classmates throughout the tour of the station. The tour guide provided everyone with basic, obvious knowledge of how the media industry worked. It was rather boring, and you found yourself wandering off midway through her speech.
It was there that you encountered the infamous Goro Akechi. Any by 'encountered,' I mean 'ended up bumping heads with.'
"Oh, my!" He exclaimed, placing a gloved hand over his forehead to soothe the pain. You mimicked the action, hissing. "I do apologize—I didn't see you."
You waved your hand dismissively. "Don't worry, 's fine. It's just a bump, plus it was mainly my fault for wandering away from my class and not paying attention."
"Well, if you insist," he chuckled. "Then I suppose you should be making it up to me?"
"..."
"I jest, I jest—!"
Crossing your arms, still attempting to ignore the stinging pain in your head, you changed the topic. "So, uh...are you here on a field trip, too?"
"Haha, no, in fact—I'm here as a guest." At your confused look, he continued. "Akechi Goro—pleased to meet you."
It clicked finally in your head. You should've realized a whole lot sooner, but in your defense, you hardly watched anything on TV, and you didn't pay attention to the gushing fangirls all over Shujin. "[L/N] [Y/N]. It's uh...nice to meet you too? Sorry for hitting you again..."
You'd admit that you were slightly concerned now that you knew who he was. After all, the boy had his own fanclub. If they knew you injured him (albeit, accidentally), you'd surely be maimed.
"It's no big deal. Like you said, it's merely a bump." He gave a reassuring nod, before his eyes widened. "Oh, I'll be late if I don't arrive in a few minutes—I apologize, but I must go now. Though, I wouldn't be opposed to continuing this conversation at a later date." He winked (not flirtatiously, but moreso charismatically), sauntering off.
You returned back to your friends, who asked you in concerned tones where you were (except Akira, who said nothing—you suspected he saw you walk off).
"Hm? Oh, nowhere really. But I did meet a celebrity, if that counts for anything."
"A celebrity? For real?!" Ryuji's loud voice parroted.
"Yeah. Akechi Goro or something—"
"The Detective Prince?" Ann questioned.
"Mhm. I bumped into him and gave him a bump on his forehead—he gave me one too, see?"
"Did he kiss it better?"
You gave the bespectacled boy a harsh glare. He merely smirked in response. "I hope you get ambushed by Shadows, Akira."
"That's not a nice way to treat your leader, y'know." If he had been texting that, you had no doubt he would've added a stupid frowny face to the end.
"I hope Arsene ravages you."
"That's kinda kink—"
"Damnit."
———–---
"Everyone, please welcome our special guest, Akechi Goro!" The students cheered, with Goro basking in the attention.
"Thank you for having me." He smiled pleasantly, and while the rest of the room gushed at the movement, you and your teammates could only recoil at its fakeness.
Tumblr media
VERSION 2 ;
You knew Goro Akechi wasn't who he claimed to be.
In truth, he wasn't the second coming of the Detective Prince—Hell, he was hardly a detective. What detective creates the cases he solves, after all?
In the same manner, you weren't the average Shujin student who just-so-happened to be friends with the victims of the Phantom Thieves' known targets.
You were both actors, in a sense—playing the part of someone else to appease the other party. You were both lying through your teeth, claiming ignorance to the inner workings of the Phantom Thieves of Hearts. Akechi knew you were one-hundred percent involved with the Thieves of Hearts, but at the same time, you knew he knew more about the Metaverse than he let on.
You were there that day, after all—when your class took a trip to the TV station.
You had heard it—the boy had made a crucial error, an ultimate slip-up. He replied to Morgana's suggestion (he had asked if anyone wanted pancakes, or something along those lines), but of course, he had no way of hearing him speak...unless he had been to the Metaverse. He likely didn't realize his mistake at the time, but your leader (and you) sure had.
Yet, Akechi had just as damning evidence against you as you did against him.
He had seen you, right there in the middle of the group of Phantom Thieves when you joined them to venture into Okumura's palace. He'd seen, and he'd snapped a photo—which he presented to you and your friends as a means of blackmail.
"Allow me to join the Phantom Thieves for this one mission, then you must disband. Otherwise I'll leak this photo, and the world will know your identities." Is essentially what he said. Of course, there was more dramatic flair to it, more sugar-coated words, as there always was with Akechi.
Your teammates had been apprehensive (especially Ryuji, that man just never knew when to shut up), not trusting Goro for...obvious reasons. But Akechi wasn't so cruel as to force Akira to make a decision on the spot, so he gave him a set amount of time to mull over his choice with his teammates. "Really, there isn't much to discuss, but nevertheless, take your time."
Akira made his choice soon after—Akechi would join them, and then they'd disband after destroying the Palace.
It was a simple enough plan. It should've been.
But nothing was ever easy with Goro Akechi, was it?
"Ah, [Y/N]. Sorry, sorry, I mean Charlatan." He chuckled. Normally, you'd find it attractive, but in this situation, you just couldn't. He was dangerous, how could you possibly be attracted to him?
"Crow." You spat his codename out with as much distaste as you could muster up. (There was still a part of you that wanted to just...ignore the fact that he was threatening to reveal your identity as a Phantom Thief and go back to hanging out with him).
"My my, what's with the sudden hostility? We're teammates, are we not?"

Detective Charming
Tumblr media
A Goro Akechi x female! reader one shot
This.... Was not supposed to happen.
You were supposed to meet with your Valentine's Day date at the Jazz Club in Kichijoji and have a lovely evening, but noooooo. Instead, you were sitting heartbroken as you looked at the text message on your phone. Your so called "date" had used you to get his ex back after months of telling you that he loved you, and had ridiculed you over text for being gullible enough to fall for the trick. You should have known... You locked your phone with a click of the power button and set it down, waving over one of the wait staff to order your usual. Hours of preparation to look good for him and then more time waiting for him to arrive only for it to be wasted... If the Jazz Club wasn't your go to spot, you would have left minutes ago after you'd received the text. The pitied stares are already getting old, but the jazz music was what was making you stay. It was the only thing keeping you from the verge of an emotional break down. You'd thought he would have liked what you chose to wear...
It was a red sundress that accentuated your curves beautifully, with a red shawl wrapped around your shoulders to match. Your h/c hair was elegantly styled with a headband of white crystals keeping it out of your face. Even your nails were painted scarlet red... Your makeup was light, but done to make your e/c eyes pop and your cheeks tinted just a bit brighter than usual. You hated heels, yet, on your feet were red heels to match the dress you were wearing. On your lips was a neutral lipstick, and while it didn't bring much attention to your lips, it did go perfectly with the rest of the makeup. All in all, when you'd left, you thought you looked beautiful. But now...
"Forgive my intrusion, my lady, but why does a princess such as yourself carry such a look of despair?" You knew that soft toned, tenor voice anywhere. When you looked up, there was Goro Akechi, the teen detective himself. Not only was he famous in all of Japan, but was the most popular boy at your school. He was wearing his usual tan peacoat with black buttons, striped black and white tie, black pants, black gloves and black loafers. His brown hair was shaggy as usual, and his crimson eyes seemed worried as they scanned over your face.
"Akechi-kun, what a surprise." You greeted the young detective with the same cheery demeanor you always had around him, but you never could hide your emotions from him. Before you could ask him what brought him to the little jazz club, he reached out to wipe a tear from your face, silencing all words about to come out. You hadn't even realized you were crying.
"Y/N-chan, may I join you?" Akechi asked. You knew that look. He looked determined to find out what happened, and you knew how stubborn he was. Even if you rejected his request to join you now, you knew he'd confront you at school. You just nodded, Akechi seeming relieved as he took a seat next to you. "Y/N-chan, what's wrong?" He spoke after a moment of silence, voicing the question on his mind.
"Oh, it's nothing to worry about, just something stupid..."
"Y/N." He dropped the honorifics, his tone turning serious. You'd never heard him this way before... "Someone has made you cry, clearly it's something to worry about and nothing stupid. I could easily go out there and get to the bottom of this myself, but I'd rather hear what happened from you. Now, please, tell me what happened." You sighed, looking at your hands in your lap. Did you really have a choice? You then recounted the events that led to this moment. If you had looked up even once, you would have seen the disbelief and rage on Akechi's face. How dare that pitiful jerk hurt you?! Just as you were telling him about the text your ex date had sent though, you started crying and couldn't finish. Alarmed by your sobs, Akechi's rage fizzled into worry and concern. Without thinking again, he wrapped his arms around you, attempting to comfort you in his embrace. "Oh, Y/N-chan, I'm so sorry. But, you know," He pulled away from you, only enough to look at your face. "A pig like that isn't worth the tears of a princess such as yourself." He wiped away your tears. "If you ask me, that fool doesn't know what he's missing. You're beautiful, inside and out. You always go above and beyond for others, always wearing your heart on your sleeve and thinking of yourself last. If everyone else is a dark shroud, you're the light that shines brightly. Your radiance is regal of royalty, no... Actually, you're a goddess." He was rambling and getting redder by the minute. He realized what was tumbling from his mouth, but somehow, he couldn't stop it. Your sorrow turned into shock and giggles as you watched the young ace detective be flustered and rambling in front of you. Your giggles cut off his rambling and a smile, his first real smile in many many years, graced his face as he saw that your tears had turned to laughter. Even if it was at his expense, he loved that you were now happy.
"If I'm a goddess, I believe that'd make you the god ruling beside me, now wouldn't it?" If it were humanly possible to get any redder, Akechi broke that record with your words.
"W-Well... Well, I wouldn't say that I'm a god, I'm a mere worm compared to you, but I..." He fell silent before getting even more bashful. "I-If-If it please you, my goddess, will you allow me to b-be your escort for at least this evening?" He asked.
"What about your work?" You asked.
"I actually just finished up a case. I guess you could say today is a rare day off, and if I may spend it with you, I will show you just how a goddess like yourself is to be treated." He answered.
"Goro Akechi, are you asking me out?" You inquired, Akechi turning bright red.
"O-Only if my lady desires it..." He told you, looking away as you giggled.
"I'd love to." You watched as his crimson eyes turned back to you, examining you in shock for a moment before a big smile broke onto his face. Without warning, he scooped up your hand into yours and kisses the back of it.
"It would be my pleasure... My goddess."
This wasn't supposed to happen... But, you couldn't say you hated it...
(for @vivinightingale, hopefully this cheered you up and Happy Valentine's Day 🥺)
