Dean was just waking up like he had a choice with Caroline going Kung-Fu Vampire on his front door; tying his robes, he slowly and irritably walked toward the front door. "Keep your skirt on, Caroline; I'm coming; lord, don't have a meltdown or knock down my door," Dean said as he finally answered the door and watched the blond duck inside. "I haven't even had my coffee..." Dean said, but she shoved a cup in his hand. "...yet...wanna tell me why you nearly killed my door?"

"You cannot live as long as I have and still keep Regret as a close friend." He paused to consider for himself the brief flashes that had been the past few years, insignificant on the grand scale, but somehow containing the most important events of his lifetime. "That is to say, I make the decisions that I make and constantly look forward, or I will drown like a shark without a current."

"And yet, I still don't think I could be trusted if I were given the opportunity to go back and change things. I fear that I would snatch you over my shoulder and spirit you away with to New Orleans."

❝You once told me that you intended to be my last love, however long it takes,❞ Caroline mused with a small smile, remembering the night of her high school graduation very clearly. ❝Did you ever think that we would end up where we are now? Children, more deaths than we can count... losing everything, just to build it back up again?❞ she asked him. She hadn't seen her life going the way that it had thus far, but she wouldn't change it. Still, she was often curious about how different things could have been if different choices had been made along the way.

Dean sniffed the coffee before taking a sip and then looked over to Caroline as she explained her reasoning for having a meltdown; he had to think about it. "Sire bond, I really don't know much about that; you're talking to a guy who only studied vampire's weaknesses in order to kill them, remember I came to town with the sole purpose of taking down Damon, and now I'm best buds with him," Dean said as he sat down at his kitchen table. "So you're gonna have to explain this whole sire bond thing and why you're freaking out about it."

Caroline couldn't help but scoff as she heard Dean through the door, shuffling slowly. ❝Oh come on, if you moved any slower, you'd be walking backwards,❞ she teased through the door, slipping inside once it was opened. She passed him a cup of coffee before he could fully finish his sentence and took a deep breath before going into a bit of a spiel. ❝I am in crisis mode. Have you heard about Elena and Damon and this sire bond crap? I mean, it's insane. Please, tell me you agree that it's insane!❞
