kyle mooney x reader: meeting beck
headcanon: hey!! i would love a kyle headcannon about being his girlfriend and meeting beck for the first time :)
a/n: kyle was my first snl crush !!! he has a special place in my heart and he (and beck!!!) deserve more love on this platform,, colin jost isnt the only hot piece of ass out there y’all
Kyle Mooney
You and Kyle had known each other for years, and over that time, you had both developed feelings for each other.
You’d met through mutual friends around the time Kyle first started at SNL, so you guys hadn’t had time to hang out as much at first.
Eventually though, as he settled into his schedule and got better at time management, you made Sunday evenings, off-weeks and between-season breaks your dedicated hangout times.
That all led to a relationship and it was so much fun!
Kyle was a very creative and goofy soul, and honestly, he was the most interesting boyfriend you’d ever had.
Between his ALF memorabilia, 80s and 90s tshirt obsession and his VHS collection, there was never a dull moment when Kyle was around.
You’d been dating for a couple months when he suggested the two of you hang out with some of his friends at a lowkey kickback on one of the off-weeks where there wasn’t a show.
You were VERY excited.
You’d been watching SNL for years (even before you knew Kyle) and you’d heard plenty about Kyle’s friends.
You’d always wanted to meet Beck, who was arguably Kyle’s best friend.
They’d been friends since college, which meant Beck had seen all of Kyle’s past relationships.
You had a lot of pressure to make sure things went well (even though Beck seemed very laid-back).
On the night of the little get-together, you were stressing.
You put on a super nice outfit - like nothing OVERLY fancy, but still, something cute - and you made your your hair and face were as perfect as possible.
Kyle noticed the extra mile you were going to and he realized why. He wasn’t stupid.
“My friends are gonna love you, they’re so chill, I promise. They put up with me looking like I do, it doesn’t matter how you dress.”
Kyle was wearing a retro Garfield t-shirt and some of the dorkiest sneakers you’d ever seen. To top it off, his hair was a mess.
He did have a point.
You got to the party a little later than you’d have liked because you made Kyle stop so you could bring alcohol (just as a last-ditch effort to impress).
Beck opened the door and you felt yourself start to sweat.
“Hey Kyle! Hi, you must be Y/N! Come on in!”
Inside the house was Beck, their friend Nick, who you recognized from their join YouTube channel GoodNeighborStuff, Dave (who Kyle had worked on Brigsby Bear and who wrote on SNL) and a few of their significant others.
“Uh, everyone, this is Y/N,” Kyle smiled after you’d followed him into the living room where everyone was chilling with drinks.
“Hi! Hello! Nice to meet you!” was all you heard, and you smiled and greeted everyone right back. So far so good.
You sat on the couch next to Kyle and Beck sat in an armchair near you both.
“So, Y/N, it’s so nice to finally meet you!” Beck smiled. “Do you guys want anything to drink?”
You held up the alcohol you’d brought, a goofy smile on your face. “I came prepared.”
Beck laughed and as you set the alcohol back down on the side of the coffee table, you saw him smile to Kyle.
Things were gonna be alright. Beck was super nice and super cool.
The party went so well! And everyone loved you!
You’d played drinking games and chatted about work, and you made Beck laugh multiple times.
As you were leaving later that night, Beck even gave you a hug!
“It was so nice to meet you, Y/N! We’ve all gotta hang out again sometime! I know some good restaurants around here! Oh, you gotta come to a live taping!”
You left feeling very happy that you’d impressed Beck, and Kyle smiled as you headed back to the car.
“I told you it would go well,” he smiled. “Beck’s a chill guy.”
“Yeah, yeah, I know,” you chuckled.
a/n: omg this kind of lost the plot but it was getting long so i had to curb it!! ahh

To Nick: You’re a certifiably, crazy-insane MOFO, who sometimes gets me pissed, but, other times, you can be so real. You respect me, and I respect that. And I know that if I ever needed you, you’d be there in a second. That’s right—you’re my baby bubba.

Some Kyle Mooney love
I know every Indie Comedy Fan says this, but Mooney is so underutilized at SNL. Here are some sketches where he gets a chance to shine:
Inside SoCal Newer One
Weekend Update: Bruce Chandling on Thanksgiving
Cut for Time: The Last Fry (Gal Gadot)
PottyPM
The House with Chris Hemsworth
Undercover Office Potty
World Peace Rap
I’m sure I’m missing many since I’m still green to SNL, but there you go.
In case you live under a rock, check out GoodNeighborStuff and Kyle’s personal Youtube channel for more from him.

5 Things to Know About Emma Stone’s Fiancé Dave McCary
Late on Wednesday, a picture on Instagram announced that Emma Stone is engaged. The post, courtesy of her new fiancé Dave McCary, showed the couple smiling together with Stone’s embellished left hand in the forefront. In their two years as a couple, however, both of them have kept their relationship quite private. From rare public appearances to their romance’s incognito social media presence, we don’t know a whole lot about McCary. Here are some need-to-knows about Stone’s future husband.

1. He’s a comedian, writer and director by profession
McCary’s career path started to define itself when he co-founded an L.A.-based sketch comedy group in 2007 with students from the University of Southern California. After graduation, McCary, Kyle Mooney, Beck Bennet and Nick Rutherford came together to form Good Neighbor. Years later McCary, Mooney and Bennet were all hired to Saturday Night Live, and the following year Rutherford joined the late night comedy show as a writer. Aside from SNL, McCary has contributed to writing, directing and producing a number of shorts throughout his career, while dabbling in a few other large-scale projects.
2. You can find him on YouTube
Members of the Good Neighbor group have videos from eight to 12 years ago archived on the GoodNeighborStuff YouTube channel. Many of the videos have garnered millions of views, from comedy concepts like “best kids awards” to a “420 Disaster”.
3. The writer met Stone through SNL
The writer is in his fourth season with NBC’s sketch comedy series, originally hired as a video director for the show in 2013. Stone and McCary met on set at SNL back in late 2016 when she hosted an episode of the show, and starred in a sketch he directed called “Wells for Boys.”

4. He has directed a movie
In 2017, McCary directed his first feature film Brigsby Bear, an indie comedy-drama film that was co-written by and starred his best friend and fellow Good Neighbor member Kyle Mooney. Mooney and McCary started their comedy careers making low-budget videos and music together in their many years of friendship. According to Page Six, Stone attended the movie’s premiere in 2017. McCary’s most recent director role was for a comedy TV movie called My Favorite Shapes by Julio Torres, which premiered in the U.S. last August. Stone is one of the stars cast in this comedy, alongside her La La Land co-star Ryan Gosling.

5. He’s a 3-time Emmy nominee
McCary’s work on SNL has earned him Emmy nominations for Outstanding Writing in a Variety Series three years in a row. It’s also his fourth year being nominated for a Writers Guild of America award, which he won in 2017 and 2018. Stone, an Oscar winner, and her soon-to-be husband no doubt make for a talented couple.
