impaired depth perception

oz has gotten quite used to his impaired depth perception and normally you wouldn’t even be able to tell he ever struggled with it. especially considering his upbringing, it’s something he had to get used to fast. stuff like pouring drinks or judging the height of stairs isn’t something that usually poses a problem to him. in his sleepiest moment though, he once high-fived yuudai in the face and he tries not to think about it too much

daily parkour

oz is not the tallest person at nrc, that’s for sure, especially when beastmen are so common in twisted wonderland. needless to say, the dorms aren’t always built with accessibility of all heights in mind. some of the kitchen cabinets and bathroom mirrors are just really high up. now, oz doesn’t really bat an eye at climbing on counters or chairs, trusting his balance from all his acrobatic practice. the same can’t be said for jamil though. the vice housewarden had half a heart attack seeing oz stand on ramshackle’s most rickety stool while rummaging through a cabinet.

heightened (other) senses

as a (part) beastman, oz’s senses are naturally heightened already, but with his loss of sight, he’s relied on them even more. especially his sense of smell and hearing are superior to that of others. however, that also means he gets easily overwhelmed by strong scents and jumps at sudden loud noises. the ramshackle ghosts have toned down their pranks after the first time and jamil’s glare for throwing open doors has scared students half to death

bonus: cass would kill for oz now

in an au where they all live in ramshackle together, cass can’t help but be reminded of younger campers back at home, despite oz technically being her senior. and now that she’s adopted oz into her circle of found family, she definitely joins the oz protection squad. someone try saying sth mean about his birthmark or mannerisms, she’s spent her life training for combat and by the gods she will use it.

also, since oz supports yuudai with their photography, cass can just tag along to provide natural sunlight wherever :3c
