#7 What if...
Kronos was a somewhat good grandpa?
Percy couldn't say he was relieved when Luke took that knife to himself, there was too much pain in death for that to be the case.
But nonetheless, in that deep seated exhaustion that wove in his very bones, Percy just wanted everything to be over.
Then, as Luke lay dying, his bright blue eyes seared into Percy and made him promise to not forget about the demigods, to make the gods be better.
Percy knew his job wasn’t yet done, because as Luke took his last breath, the shadows overtook the throne room. The hearth just mere embers, and a magical laugh echoed around the chambers.
Annabeth was crying over Luke’s corpse and didn't seem to notice anything wrong in her grief, but Percy did. He always noticed, even though Annabeth would most likely disagree.  She does call him Seaweed Brain after all. But just because Percy doesn't speak up about what he notices doesn’t mean he's dumb.
It's why, when his instincts screamed at him, he raised his sword just as a great metal scythe came sweeping down at him.
“Oh, grandson. I long since outgrow that boy's body, but you fought brilliantly. But now I am back at full power, you will not be able to stop me as you are. Still, for you to not only sense my strike, but stop it… I knew you were special. You really should have joined my side,” Kronos says, his words like honey, as he presses his scythe down upon Percy’s sword. Golden cracks were seeping from Kronos’ bronze skin, showing his divinity leaking through.
Percy snarled, his green eyes blazing with fury, “I'd rather die!”
And Percy looked over to Annabeth for help, but she was not moving, her tears frozen in time on her cheeks.
Percy froze in fear, his heart pounding. Kronos was no longer in Luke's body and his powers restricted. Kronos had his own body now, and his abilities were restored.
However, Percy’s freezing was a fatal mistake, as Kronos pressed on with more force forcing Percy’s sword from his hand.
Percy looked up, his eyes wide in fear as he stared in Kronos golden orbs.
Except as Percy’s sword came clanging to the ground and Kronos swung his scythe. The titan leveled the blade just against his throat.
Kronos croons, “Don’t worry grandson. I couldn’t possibly kill you when I see so much of myself and Rhea in your eyes.”
Percy startles and flinches as Kronos touches Percy’s face gently, pulling black strands behind his ears.
“Hmm?” Kronos hums, “Don’t worry you’ll understand in time. For now just sleep, and we’ll celebrate later when I discipline my kids.”
“Stop-” Percy says, but then he feels a pinch on the back of his neck, and everything fades to black.
The last thing he hears is Kronos’ voice comforting him…
~~~
Kronos at first hated all these mortal pests that had the blood of gods in their veins.
Mortals weren’t worthy of such a gift.
Unfortunately, Kronos needed to play along with the pests' plans in order to revive.
However, how he started to view these pests, or rather just one pest, changed when he met the son of his Poseidon, his grandson, Perseus Jackson.
Perseus was different then the other pests - demigods. He was just twelve when Kronos first slipped in his dreams, and already Pereus was powerful, defiant, but then Kronos saw his eyes, Rhea's eyes. Kronos could barely stomach it when he swallowed Poseidon, his son with Rhea's eyes.
But now it seems that another inherited her eyes. The one who would be the doom or savior of Olympus. And should die when he was sixteen.
No, this one would not be the one to fulfill the prophecy. He couldn't be.
Kronos sent the boy nightmares, hoping he would pray to his father. That Poseidon would scue the boy. Except that never happened.
And so the next thing that Kronos could do was set his vessel to poison the daughter of Zeus, so a quest would be sent and the Golden Fleece would be retrieved to not only help heal him, but the daughter of Zeus as well, so she would be the one to fulfill the prophecy.
Of course, everything went downhill from there and that daughter of Zeus ran away from the prophecy and gave it to his grandson.
Huh? When did Kronos start thinking of Perseus as his grandson? From the moment he saw Rhea's eyes.
And after his grandson saved Artemis and by holding Atlas’ weight the gods voted to kill his grandson!
As if he hasn't already saved them and proven himself before!
It made Kronos resolve to tear Olympus down all the more.
And so, even as he had to fight his grandson to do so, he would, for Perseus for power.
Of course no one but Kronos himself knew that he would never mortally injure the boy. It's why when his scythe, which is said to suck the life from one's soul, struck, Perseus was merely fatigued.
And Kronos regularly asked for updates on how Perseus is doing from that daughter of Aphrodite.
It's how he found out Perseus’ powers were growing every day, he was long on his way to ascending.
Oh, and how that daughter of Athena was trying to shackle his grandson to mortality by seducing Perseus of all things. As if that girl would ever be good enough for his grandson! She, he always calls him stupid, and tests him at every opportunity. No! Kronos would not stand for that!
Then, the final battle came. Unfortunately his spy turned traitor and died, but it didn't matter because the battle lines were drawn. And Perseus was practically glowing in his divinity.
It would be soon!
Perseus made his choice, but it was too late to stop Kronos, for he was already healed.
And Kronos fought Perseus one on one. The boy didn't even notice that he glowed, his veins golden. Too fueled by anger to stop and think why he could still move when Kronos stopped time, and that daughter of Athena did not.
Unfortunately, when he noticed that time was stopped all around him, the boy froze, and Kronos took the advantage.
And when Kronos saw the wide eyed fear in those green eyes he reassured him that he would not kill him. How could he, when he came to care for the boy?
However, Perseus startles and flinches as Kronos goes to comfort the boy by face gently, pulling black strands behind his ears.
“Hmm?” Kronos hums, knowing the boy is too brainwashed by the gods and too young to understand, “Don’t worry you’ll understand in time. For now just sleep, and we’ll celebrate later when I discipline my kids.”
“Stop-” Perseus says, but Kronos swiftly pinches a nerve on the boy's neck, and the boy slumps forward into his open arms.
Kronos whispers to his grandson comfortably and holds him like a little one to his chest, “Don't worry, I'll take care of you, my grandson.”
Notes:
Whelp! At least Kronos doesn't want Percy to die. Maybe he'll even do alright with being the new prince of the Titans.
Truly devastated I have no more Percy Jackson to watch…the good news is I will just continually rewatch the show and reread the books until there is more
Ima need a confirmation of season two asap. The trio is perfect and I need more. (Luke was also pretty good in the last episode (acting wise not morally as a character ofc))
(I’m gonna take this and run ❤️)
Clockwork was powerful, but he was far from almighty. Some paths could not be altered, some worlds were beyond saving, but this…
As he picked up his grandson’s broken body, the child’s clock began to spin.
🦇
Ignoring the pendant around his neck for a moment, Bruce looked at the world frozen around him. The last thing he saw was that damned alley behind the movie theater, but now he was in the manor. As he tried to adjust, a hooded figure melted out of the too-bright walls.
“Your assumptions are correct, detective. This is the end, but I come bearing cold comfort.”
“Who are you?” Bruce asked, weary but ready to fight.
“Your friend Diana would call me Kronos, but your son, Daniel, once called me Clockwork, then grandpa,” said Clockwork. “You don’t have to trust me, but you’ve loved them both. I just want to cushion the blow.”
“Explain,” Bruce demanded.
“Very well, but let’s go to your family.”
Clockwork led the way down to the cave, and Bruce followed begrudgingly. Several of the bats were huddled around the computer, with a few getting ready to head out. The screens showed the energy from Bruce’s final jump, all the way in that damned alley.
“Are they safe like this?” Bruce asked.
“No,” said Clockwork, “but it will be painless. When I restart time, you’ll only have a minute to speak. That will not be enough to evacuate.”
“Why not give me the hope then?”
“Bruce, I have already done something incredibly cruel in the name of kindness. If I gave you anything else—if I lied that there was a way out—you would waste the gift.” Clockwork shrank down to a child. “Daniel will know what happened one day, and I don’t want his hatred to extend beyond a few centuries.”
“Wait, Danny will survive this?”
“And only Daniel can,” Clockwork confirmed. “Leaving will hurt, but only a new lifetime could begin to heal what he’d already suffered.”
Before he could ask, a portal opened to several screens, and he could feel his heart break as everything played out: Danny’s original world and his first parents’ betrayal. The way that both Drake twins would’ve been stillborn without the swap. The nuclear war when he killed Joker—
“I’m sorry that Darkseid’s pact with Nergal delayed your friends. The worlds without a laughing magician almost always face excessive magical interference.”
“Then why not place Danny somewhere safer to begin with?” Bruce growled. “Why hurt him like this when my son’s already been through so much!”
“A laughing magician cannot be anticipated by the divine, and I…” Clockwork aged into an old man. “Bruce, I was a terrible father, but my little warden has me wrapped around his finger. I couldn’t risk him being banished or bound in a deal before he could advocate for himself.”
Bruce wanted to hate him for it. He wanted to hate the paranoid logic that would break Danny’s heart again and again. He wanted to tell his son the truth and hold him through the tears. He wanted to soothe the hurt himself. He wanted to hide it so that Danny never felt the blow.
He wanted, like any good parent, to keep his son safe and happy.
“You and I are far too alike,” Clockwork said bitterly. “Thank you for loving him. Thank you for refusing to forgive me.”
“So what now?” Bruce asked.
“I’m taking everything Daniel needs to the new timeline. His records, his things, and even the few articles. He acted like a ghost in public, so we can just slip him in.”
“There will be gaps,” Bruce stated.
“I will help bridge them,” Clockwork promised.
“And he’ll know about us?”
“There is no timeline where I attempt to keep the truth from Daniel and avoid him devouring my core,” Clockwork said.
“That isn’t a yes.”
“Though I would not begrudge him his vengeance, such a thing would make Daniel hate himself.” Clockwork smirked as he matched Bruce’s age. “That counts more than my word.”
“And where is Danny?”
“He had a headache, so he’s fast asleep upstairs.” Clockwork’s gaze softened. “He’s going to wake up in a world where no one remembers him, but everyone he loves here is alive and well.”
“And you’ll show him this one day?”
“I promise.”
Bruce took a shakey breath and walked until he was halfway between both groups. He hadn’t bothered with the tears until now, but he wanted to see them. He wanted…
“Will any of us join him?” Bruce asked.
Clockwork hesitated.
“Ectoplasmic ghosts form when the soul condenses under pressure. If I tell you the truth, either anguish or relief will damn you. I’m sorry.”
Bruce wanted to push, but just this once…
“I’m ready.”
New Twin?
ok so we know Bruce got lost in the time stream right?
And Tim saved him bla bla bla...
Ok so I'm reading a fanfic rn and it's giving me an idea for a dpxdc crossover.
Its 'TWINcognito mode' by nerdpoe
Ok so I'm thinking it's not safe for Danny in his world so clockwork pulls some strings and sets everything up for Danny to be Tim's non identical twin (theyre similar enough to pass) and he just appears in wayne manor right after Bruce gets out of the time stream.
Like I'm talking he has a room that's 'been lived in for years', he has memories of them and growing up with tim, he's acting like nothings new ect.
So he's all like "dad your back!" And they're all looking between tim and his double like "tim??? NOT tim????" And they come to the conclusion that Bruce fucked with the time stream and he spawned in.
They all feel guilty that they 'forgot' him even though they never knew him. Especially Tim, he would feel so bad if there was someone that went through what he did with their parents neglect and they only had each other, but Tim doesn't remember who this is.
He could be fully aware and is pretending so he's safe OR clockwork thought this would be for the best so he altered Danny's memories so he genuinely believes he's Tim's twin.
For the second option I like the ideas that he doesn't remember anything/he doesn't have access to his ghost half (either he has to heal from something his parents did or he can't handle the full power that comes with being ghost king) and he won't unlock his memories/powers till he dies again.
Which if he genuinely believed they were his family, and then they tell him he wasn't real a few days ago, that would probably fuck with his mind.
Miles to Go Before I Sleep- A PJO Fanfiction
I couldn't sleep that night. I paced the room for two hours until late night as if there was something terrible was going to happen. I was worried sick--about Annabeth, about the war, about everything. At midnight, moonlight streamed through the hotel window as I sat, almost lifelessly on the bed, staring into nothing. Suddenly, I heard a creak in the door, and I was about to snatch riptide before I heard a whisper, "Percy? You awake?"
In the shadows, I saw the familiar figure of Grover, tired after a long day of attending to the satyrs. He sat down next to me on the bed, and we both stared at the wall in comfortable silence. For a moment, I could almost close my eyes and imagine that we were 12 year olds at Yancy again. "The Apollo kids are seeing you through the hotel surveillance cameras. They sent me to ask you to sleep" "Since you're the only one right now who I'll listen to?" ".....yep"
While Grover rambled something about him being my unofficial mom right now, I looked at my bedside table, and there it was. Pandora's Jar. Man, I wished the stupid thing would stop following me around, and right now, it wasn't the best time for me to want to resist opening it. Unfortunately, Grover read my emotions. "You want to open it, don't you?"
The question, which had always been on the back of my mind, really stung now that it was said out loud. I think Grover could see I was breaking down a little on the inside, and wrapped me in an awkward hug. "I-I do," it came spilling out of my mouth, my voice cracking. "It just feels like the Fates are giving me an opportunity instead of a challenge. I feel like everything around me is falling apart. I'm not good at handling war. If I give up to Kronos, he'd kill me, as long as I'd make him promise he wouldn't hurt you guys. It's just easier. It's better for everyone else" My eyes felt wet, and I pulled away quickly. Grover looked so lost, I immediately felt bad for making him worry about me. "Go to sleep, Percy," he said in a painful tone, as if I was a delusional grandpa who had gotten loose from the nursing home bed. Before I could say anything, he pulled out his reedpipes. Before I could protest, he started playing soft, sweet music and before I knew it, I was asleep.
In my dream, I was sitting with Annabeth in the strawberry field, while she had a book in her lap. Annabeth was smiling, her hair glinting in the sunlight. She was okay. We were okay. It was a sunny day and all the campers were having fun. I remembered this day; this conversation had happened two months before the war. Woah. That felt so far away.
"I finally found the greek version of this poem!" she said excited, her eyes sparkling, which gave me butterflies. "This poem is really famous for the last four lines, wait-wait, I'll read it out to you" She picked it up. "So the English version of these lines are: "The woods are lovely, dark and deep, but I have promises to keep, and miles to go before I sleep, and miles to go before I sleep" I bumped her shoulder with mine. "Ok, nerd...what's the point?"
She rolled her eyes, but she was smiling. "It basically means that the poet wanted to die and found death a beautiful easy way out, but he realised he still had a duty in his life and that he still had a long way before his time to go, isn't that so poetic?" "I guess. You're better at this than me"
This didn't happen that day, but she opened her arms, as if about to hug me, probably due to Grover's magical reedpipe music, and for a second I felt elated that life felt livable again, before the ground opened up before she could, and I fell into endless darkness.
I woke up, shaking. I felt like I had been given a sweater in the cold before it got snatched away, leaving me back in the freezing winter. Grover was gone. I wanted to go back to sleep. I wanted things to be alright again. I wanted to see Annabeth happy and nerdy as usual and hug her. But sunlight streamed in through the window, and I forced myself out of the bed and went up the stairs to where Annabeth was.
When I walked up to her in the chair, my heart broke again. She looked so different from the dream. Her eyes were weakly staring at the view, she was shivering and her face was still a little gray. "Hey" she said. I checked up on her, talking to her about her health, which was slowly getting better, thankfully, but it didn't stop me from feeling guilty.
As I stared at her hopelessly, Pandora's Jar appeared on the table next to her. Annabeth studied my face. "We should put it in a place where it stays there"
I nodded my head in agreement. I took the jar gingerly in my hands. I looked out into the view from above. The whole city was in my sight. I saw demigods rebuilding the mortal's homes, some of which were damaged after the day's fight. I saw Nico rejoining a skeleton from his army's bones, with Will hovering curiously from a distance. "Is that a coccyx ?" "Gesundheit" If I died, he'd be the prophecy kid. I saw two tired aphrodite girls staring at a broken mirror, as if wondering where their life (and skin) started to break. I needed to keep them going. I needed to survive, I couldn't let them down. I needed to give them what they were fighting for. They were fighting for me. All my depression would have to wait for another day.
"It must be annoying," Annabeth said. "Don't you ever just want to open it?"
"Nah," I gave her my bravest smile, as I carried the jar to the door, where I would give it to be locked in a storage locker in the hotel. "I have promises to keep; and miles to go before I sleep"
Just finished Episode 8 of Percy Jackson and here’s my thoughts:
Ares fight was underwhelming
THAT’S Hades’ helm? No way that twink’s fitting in that bulky helmet, pull the other one…
”If you’re small and scary, you get squished” CHILLS
Percy had BALLS to challenge Zeus like that
DADDY’S HOME! Oh, yes! This had everything I wanted! Poseidon protected his son, there was Ancient Greek, both father and son gushed about how awesome Sally Jackson is (as they should) it was just so wholesome, best part of the episode for real
I honestly cracked up at the fact that Zeus was swayed when Poseidon began praising Thalia, the guy’s such an egomaniac, he probably saw that as praise directed towards him, it’s remarkable
I might be misremembering the book, but was the finale really Luke doing the world’s most underwhelming unboxing video with the borders of camp? I don’t think it was
More Dionysus getting Percy’s name wrong, we love to see it
Not the shameless self promo of Annabeth going to Disney World-
Kronos stop popping up to say cryptic shit before vanishing, just get to the point dude
It was actually so interesting that Sally makes Percy write down whatever his dear old grandpa says to him in his dreams, that’s the sort of parenting that every demigod needs - family history, Ancient Greek, good morals, and good practical advice, she’s the best
I was genuinely so scared that they’d cut Gabe turning into a statue and it was pretty annoying that they turned it from Sally taking action and being an iconic girl boss to Gabe just being a dumbass, give Sally her credit
WHY wasn’t there a note in the credits that said ‘Percy Jackson will return’? Just give us more, you cowards!
salt-and-vinegar dreams
Fandom: Percy Jackson and the Olympians Pairing: Percy/Annabeth Rating: T Word Count: 1256
Summary: Percy might have an evil, prophesizing grandpa hijacking his dreams, but he also has Annabeth, and she's welcome any time.
Based on Percy’s extensive and up-close experience of bullying and recess dynamics, Camp Half-Blood makes no sense. Sure, if he compares pretty much any aspect of his life among mostly humans to his life here, there are some fairly glaring differences, but this is what stands out:
Out there, a kid who wins a fight becomes the Toughest Kid, and nobody wants to mess with that kid. In here, a kid who wins a fight also becomes the Toughest Kid, but everybody wants to fight them to see how they measure up—even if, instead of pushing another kid down on the playground and kicking sand in their lunch, they clobbered the god of war with a humongous wave. Percy kinda gets it, in a weird way, like he’s kinda getting everything about this, being here, being who he is. But he’s also tired.
He’s tired of dodging Clarisse’s attempts to take her turn at him. He’s tired of turning his last conversation with Luke around and around in his mind until it becomes a whirlpool it’s hard to pull back from. He’s tired of the dreams. Sinister, persistent. Always at the cottage in Montauk, which really pisses Percy off because that’s their place, his and his mom’s, but as soon as things go all dark and foggy, he can’t keep Kronos out. Just once, he’d like to tell that trespassing asshole there’s no welcome mat for a reason, maybe slam the door in the face he keeps hidden under a hood like preserving maximum spookiness when Percy already knows who he is isn’t the lamest thing in either this world or the subbasement the Titans call home. Instead of being stuck in the front room, Percy would like to run deeper into the cottage to grab the baseball bat he knows is somewhere in his room (back of the closet? Under the bed?) and use it to crack that dumb lantern he carries. He’d like to rush Kronos before he reaches the door, keep him outside and chase him around, spraying him with the garden hose.
Yeah, there’s a lot Percy’d like to try. At the top of that list is a good night’s sleep. These new Kronos-flavoured dreams suck; like a watered-down salt and vinegar from the heavy fog. And when he wakes up? Clammy skin from that fog, and the general bitter aftertaste anyone might associate with interacting with their creepy pit-grandpa. Zero out of ten.
So he’s a little worn out.
While everyone else is cramming their final days at camp with hand-to-hand combat—plus other normal stuff kids do for fun—Percy’s getting really into afternoon naps. Oh, that’s supposed to be an old-person thing? Uno reverse, Gramps. He already has the Poseidon cabin to himself, so it’s not hard to find a quiet spot. Even with his shiny-new status as the Ass-Kicker of Ares, the Mount Olympus Backtalker, the Lotus Casino Strip Poker Champ (ok, maybe the rumours are getting out of hand), the other campers don’t usually seek him out here. His guess is that the cabin stood empty so long that it became sorta mythically untouchable. Maybe that makes him the murky algae growing on the glass of the haunted aquarium, but he doesn’t care. He just wants to sleep.
Except one person never hesitates at the threshold. She doesn’t seem to mind the fishermen’s cathedral aesthetic or the unusual light; it spills down through tall, diamond-paned windows and reflects off the lap pool to cast a wavy aurora maris on the ceiling. Annabeth’s not daunted by the creak of suspended skeletons or the lobster traps piled by the door (why?).
She gives him the face that says he’s making a stupid choice which may or may not actually be wrong (she’s still deciding) and asks, “Why aren’t you outside?”
“I’m the demigod version of Superman: I prefer my solitude,” he says, then pauses. “Or, I guess Clark Kent, ’cause I’m not on duty.”
Annabeth frowns.
“Who?”
“Just… this journalist. Doesn’t matter.”
“You felt like being alone?” she somehow translates, sifting through the broken oysters of his words for the pearls.
He looks at her, her head tilt that could be cautious except he knows it’s thoughtful, her steps that miss all the squeaky boards his personal water feature has swollen with damp, the way her straightforward question spreads like a ripple—you felt like being alone alone alone alone?—because her eyes keep asking it after her lips close. Her feet keep walking into his abandoned marine museum, his one-storey lighthouse, his rejected Little Mermaid film set. He looks at her.
“Not… exactly,” he says, liking her here. “I was just gonna try to get some sleep.”
“Would it be alright if I stayed?”
There’s this feeling in Percy’s chest—sore and warped, but warm and still. He’s glad she asked; it means he doesn’t have to. It would’ve come out of his mouth wrong, fumbled and awkward, even though they’ve slept near each other before, basically the whole quest. He nods; it’s alright if she wants to stay. He can’t say he’ll probably be able to sleep better with her watching over him, that, actually, he’s scared a lot of the time, but not so much with her nearby. Even if their eyes are closed and their defenses are down.
Though Percy doesn’t stray from tradition and put his guard up as he lies down on his cot, there’s an awareness of a different nature. Annabeth darts a look at him like she’s suspicious that he’s going to keep watching her, but then she does something kind: she sits at the edge of the pool, right in his line of sight. She has her back to him as she strokes her hand back and forth through the water. Percy rolls onto his back, exhales. He’s not going to fall asleep, but he’s watching the light change on the ceiling, and he’s listening to the gentle waves break against the sides of the pool, and his eyelids are feeling heavy…
The cottage surrounded by darkness.
Kronos with the swaying lantern, the billowing cloak.
Percy: wide-eyed to be suddenly adrift inside his own mind, the cottage a trick.
An ominous message, full of blame, full of a sickening pride, full of ownership and control and—
Do you ever dream about Mom?
The look in his dad’s eyes, and then falling, but falling through light, falling like floating on water.
Percy knows he’s still sleeping—it’s the one similarity between this scene and his seaside encounter with Kronos—because he’s looking down at the lap pool from above. The water’s serene, undisturbed.
When he faces Kronos, does his body give clues? Does he twitch or flinch or groan? Anything that might call Annabeth away from the pool? Because she’s sitting there on his cot, holding his hand while he sleeps. Did he do something to make her scared for him, or is it another thing? A scared-if-you-don’t-feel-this-too thing. Scared if you do. Percy doesn’t know if this is real, but the feeling of wanting it to be is. They’re just… a good team. And if his tired brain was reaching for an antidote to Kronos’s unwelcome invasion of his subconscious, yeah, it coulda done worse than Annabeth’s hand tucked into his, light on her braids casting shadows like sea turtle ribs.
She’s looking at him. Her head tilts, and it could be cautious, wary, unsure.
Except Percy knows it’s thoughtful. She’s always thinking.
Right now, she’s thinking about him.
i know so many of yall will have complaints, which i personally will simply not pay attention to, bc personally this last episode was such a perfect adaptation
the fight with ares was phenomenal, and if you think for one second that it was underwhelming go back to reading the scene in the book, it was so fucking perfect, and percy's inexperience, and ares's slow showing off, and then the WAVE, and percy outsmarting ares and showing him he shouldn't have messed with him, im just !!! god i loved it
what takes the crown for me, is that sequence in olympus, from start to finish, a goddamn masterpiece, god fuck, lance riddick, rest in peace, but the TALENT the man displayed as zeus, the way he flawlessly showed off power with simply sitting in that chair and just standing, the ANGER when he attacks percy, the disbelief when poseidon shows up, he was so fucking good, god idk how anyone could portray zeus as easily as he did, and I'll miss him so much
and toby stephens too!! maybe it was my daddy issues, but poseidon surrendering, A GOD SURRENDERING, FOR HIS CHILD, "JUST SPARE MY SON"!!! and then the conversation with percy, god fuck, the raw emotion in his eyes, the PAIN when percy asks if he dreams of sally, i FELT THAT
and walker's acting, god he somehow has managed to accomplish the brown eyed puppy eyes with his big blue eyes, HE CAN PUT SO MUCH FEELING WITH JUST HIS EYES
and dont get me started on the betrayal of luke, both walker and charlie were amazing, and you can see how vulnerable luke looks already, even if little does he know that his fear, his pain, his manipulation is just getting started, the whole "im your friend percy, im not here to betray you", IT KILLED ME, the way he put so much feeling into it, god im crying
and annabeth being there! annabeth had to have known, bc why else would she lie about staying with chiron, why else not trust that they would be alright alone by themselves, the way she must have struggled so much with her inner feelings, bc she only fought back when Percy's life was genuinely in danger, she could have stopped the fight much earlier, but she couldn't make herself
and that ending 😭 them going their way, annabeth going back to her dad, percy going home, grover going on his search for pan, and PERCY proposing their pact to meet again in a year (he's definitely in for a surprise lmao), i fucking cried
and then meeting with sally, and SIKE, literally fucking taunting kronos like he's no big deal, and him calling kronos grandpa literally fucking killed me
i just need to say, yes, it wasn't perfect scene by scene from the book, it could have been more detailed, i would have loved more of annabeth, and no we didn't get the scorpion, but it was such a perfect adaptation
i get why everyone said this was the best episode, and i already know im going to rewatch the fuck about it, im genuinely so happy about it, i had such high expectations and this episode met every single one of them
tldr; percy jackson season 1, episode 8 is a masterpiece and you should definitely watch it <3
So here are my live reactions on the pjo finale:
- I’m not mentally ready for this yet
- Long episode tho :)
- Omg Luke opening gave me chills
- OH THEY DID HAVE THE SWORD TRAINING I WAS SO CONFUSED ABOUT THAT FIRST
- But why are they flashbacks and not just something we saw in ep2?
- I’m still confused on why they chose to reveal the Kronos thing already
- Why is Percy not wearing Annabeths necklace yet 🥺
- Damn slay Percy
- The fight didn’t disappoint I’d say
- Wait are they on Montauk 🥹
- The “please” 😭😂
- “I’m done running from monsters” babes you only just started
- AWWW there is the necklace 🥹
- I feel like Luke mentioning Annabeths arachnophobia is so random even tho he explained it 😂
- Oh hello Zeus
- That is one hell of a good casting choice for Zeus, appearance wise
- Okay Zeus letting Percy go already felt way too easy lol
- Percy you are so lucky
- They’re making Poseidon way too good of a father tho I’m sorry
- Oh I’m gonna listen to their Ancient Greek convo later and slower because I love nitpicking hihi
- I’m not sure whether I like that they changed the Greek coming natural thing, because on one side it feels like an unnecessary change, but on the other side I can still be delusional and think I’m a demigod, because Ancient Greek does not come naturally to me at all sadly
- Wait but does that still mean all demigods have dyslexia (and adhd)? I don’t remember whether they talked about it earlier in the series
- I will be so mad if Annabeth doesn’t have dyslexia and adhd (and still is also a bookworm, we’ve seen her being a nerd but not necessarily a bookworm)
- Awwww Percabeth hug
- Annabeth and Lukes relationship in this interaction was done perfectly
- Does Percy already suspect Luke now?
- That’s one hell of an accusation Percy
- But you know since he figured out about Kronos too it makes sense
- Backbiter name drop yas
- “This isn’t you” okay but how long do you actually know him Percy lol
- I’m very confused on what Luke is doing honestly
- What is he opening? And is the H on purpose, supposed to represent Hermes?
- Oh oh Annabeth is here
- Oh don’t know how to feel about that
- I do know that Leah made me cry, gods the betrayal in her eyes 🥺
- Really not doing the “names are powerful” thing huh😂
- Jason is so perfect for Dionysus
- “It’s a tree, Seaweed Brain, it doesn’t express opinions” 😂
- Leahs hair is so beautiful
- It feels so sudden that she goes to see her dad now, but I don’t remember whether it was less sudden in the books lol
- Annabeth not know what Disneyland is, oh my baby 🥺
- FREDRICK YOU BETTER SHOW HER A MOVIE THIS TIME
- “Go, be a kid” Percy is saying what we’re all thinking
- The trio is trioing 🥹
- What is happening
- That is FOUL
- What is happening part 2
- Yes please listen to your mom, don’t call him grandpa 😂
- I am patiently waiting for the Medusa Gabe scene here
- Please tell me there’s an after credit scene and it happens then
- Every time I watch the credits and every time I feel like it’s not the same
- YES ITS HAPPENING
- I have thoughts on the changes of Gabe turning into a statue but I cannot formulate them yet lol
- Ohmygod there’s a documentary
- Watching that tomorrow
Now the season is done I do wanna make an actual review of what I like and dislike both adaptation and just as a show wise
Hey guys!!! Just posted the first chapter for this what if idea!!! Thank you guys for all the comments, likes, and reblogs!
It's called Imitheos Phantasm on Tumblr!
#2 What if...
Percy Jackson was reborn as Danny Phantom, then was reborn into the DC Universe?
The Prophecy of the Universe:
The Hero of Olympus.
The Hero all pure hearted trust.
Warrior Prince of the realm of death.
Follow the dimension to the left
To the Hero thrice reborn.
He must live, or all will be scorned.
Life and Death forever in his hands.
He’ll lead us to peaceful lands,
Or all of existence will fall
If all fail to hear his call.
Note:
This is a prophecy I came up with for a Percy Jackson × Danny Phantom × DC crossover idea I have.
I actually dreamt about this crossover last night 😅
Percy Jackson dies and is later reborn as Danny Fenton. Danny Fenton of course dies and is reborn as Danny Phantom .
Here Kronos was reborn as Clockwork, who will grow fond of his grandson, and when Danny dies once again at the hands of his parents Clockwork will interfere and send the boy's core to be reborn again in the DC universe (and hence be thrice reborn). Of course, this sends ripples across time, and time well, time tends to hold onto the past as well as the present and future, and the reborn boy will eventually remember and his powers will come back to him. Still, the fate of the world always falls to the Hero's shoulders.
First - Previous - Next "What if...?"
FINAL EPISODE OF S.1!
SPOILERS AHEAD!!!
My memory is kinda fuzzy so this might have things left out
The fight scene was pretty good. I love any scene with ares in it so. But i kinda missed the whole police cars moment and i would have loved to see what the fight looked like to mortals
The scene with Alecto was good. i enjoyed how Percy was adamant about getting his mom back and Hades keeping his promise
when annabeth gives percy her necklace>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
THE SCENE ON OLYMPUS!!!!!!! guys this was sososossoosososo good<3. I love love loved how Zeus was "totally" gonna let Percy go and then as soon as Percy turned his back, Zeus was gonna strike him down. This conveyed how even after you had done something for the gods they could turn on you as soon as you turned your back.
part 2 of the bullet above. I loved how Poseidon intervened for percy. this solidified that percy is/will be his favorite kid. Especially how he had to surrender Zeus just to stop this war even though Zeus had not one but two forbidden kids of his own
I loved how percy asked if Poseidon dreamed about his mom and in turn himself. It shows how percy si trying not to hate his dad as he didnt really abandon them but he still wasn't around
When percy came back to camp🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
lets talk about the scene with luke. The way they changed it from the book was a change i liked. I liked how Luke was trying to recruit percy but not in a "you need to do this" way but in a "hey im trying to do whats best for our future" way. I loved how when they fought, when percy hurt luke, he immediately was apologizing even though luke was trying to kill him. I also loved the scene(s) of them training in the forest.
part 2 of luke point. THE LIGHTING CHANGED EVERYTHING. Like when they were just training, it was a light green/yellowy color to show happiness and joy(ish). When Luke revealed himself as the lightning thief, the firework that went off was purple and the lighting became darker and more menacing to show how Luke had changed. yellow and purple are also opposites on the color wheel so this could also show how luke was acting completely different then how he "normally" did. Also annabeth being there the entire time changed how luke acted. I could see tears in his eyes when annabeth revealed her self
THE HUG PART 2!
The group hug at the end made me so happy 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
The nightmare with kronos was good. Don't have much to say about it except for percy calling Kronos grandpa
the final scene was amazing. I saw on here somewhere that the rain on the window as the door closed signified how Poseidon could never reach them and was separated from them
Gabe's death scene was interesting as it wasn't by sally hands but by his own. His manipulative actions at the begin like answering sallys phone shows how even though people say "gabe wasn't abusive" he was abusive just not in the normal way people think of.
RIP Lance Reddick You were a great Zeus and you will be missed dearly
Okay, guys that seems to be it!! I can't wait for season 2 and to make more<3 love you guys and stay weird 💙💙💙
PJO is so funny once you remember Kronos is Percy’s grandpa.
Percy Jackson and that one time grandpa stole my uncles toys so my dad would fight him, then tried to drag me into the pit of eternal damnation as a vessel for his evil schemes.
Percy Jackson and grandpa stole a fleece to kill my cousin
Percy Jackson and that one time grandpa played a part in making me hold the sky
Percy Jackson and that one time good old grandpa possessed my cousin and chased me around a maze
Percy Jackson and that one time grandpa tried to take over the world so I killed him and my cousin.
Note
TV show Percy and Luke look like what book Luke and Percy kids would look like. Lol imagine a multiverse au where book Luke and Percy end up in the TV show world. Meet them, and like look at each as couples who have been together for a while know how to do and are instantly like 'Nope we are adopting/kidnapping them now. They're are too baby, and are not dealing with are traumas.' I mean seriously just look at them!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They so look like their kids. And honestly Herms would like being a grandpa.
My apologizes, I think I'm not quite grasping this right so:
Is this Lukercy? If not: I'm glad you're enjoying yourself.
Is this Lukercy? If yes, then OMG THAT WOULD BE SO FUNNY. 😭 THEY WOULD MAKE SUCH A FUNNY FAMILY LMAO you're right, it has never dawned on me that their in-show versions can make a good second 2 but now you've mentioned it that's just like. so brilliant.
I feel like 12-year-olds mixing up our blorbos' hair and eye colors to make up their children again. 😭😭😭 Luke would DEFINITELY look at blond blue-eyed Percy and straight up claim him as his son Poseidon be damned jahdasjkdhask. And omg in-show Luke seeing Percy the spitting image of him talking him down from siding with Kronos. 👀
Truly family model. lmao.
Btw Charlie is so pretty omg.
EPISODE 8 😭😭 THE FEELS
the first line being 'look, you didn't ask to be a half blood' 😭😭 this is the shows equivalent to the good kid reprise
The wooden sword 😂
they have my respect for showing a luke and percy practicing sword fight scene SERIOUSLY the rest of the riordanverse percy still hears advice from luke while swordfighting and that is a plot point that is so special to me okay
the transition from luke to percy as he asks for single combat it's SO CINEMATIC I LOVE IT
The threatening aura of ares after being grumpy and comedic is chefs kiss about dayum time
I wish they kept the scene where percy says something along the lines of "we didn't mention any dreams" when ares yells that gods don't dream but ofc tv!percy knows all
cue one of the most epic sword fight scenes of the century
IM THE SON OF POSEIDON NOW FACE THE TIDE INSIDE OF MEEEEEEEE
NO SERIOUSLY SOMEBODY MAKE AN EDIT
THE SIZE OF PERCY COMPARED TO THE WAVE, THE WAVE ENVELOPING BOTH OF THEM
The camera shots are too good I swear
Ok that was short
I kinda missed the police cars and the sirens in the background and the reporters and all that chaos
sallys in the breeze she's in the trees
Alecto redemption arc wasnt on my bingo card but I actually like it guys
THE NECKLACE
percy staring at annabeth as she makes it harder each day to believe no one cares about him will never get old ❤️
“Wheres the glory in that” lazy ppl dont need glory
Rip lance reddick❤️
the next time hes going to roast zeus’s family percy is going to be older and more intimidating ZEUS IS GOING TO LISTEN and thats something so amazing
the way that percy fell to the ground with his arms on his head by instinct as zeus raised his lightning bolt
POSEIDON YASSSSS
”perseus” wait a sec is this the first reveal of percys real name?
THEIR ACTING AS ALWAYS 10/10
”can i ask you a question?’ DID YOU EVER HAVE SOMEONE KISS YOU IN A CROWDED ROOM AND EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOUR FRIENDS WAS MAKING FUN OF YOU
Dude was like no hon i aint gon tell bout what i dream about your mother kaboom peace out
huggggg (btw guys im in this show im the camper in the background clapping for the hug) i love that laugh from percy like ‘yep this is how we roll now not bad’
I love that theyre using that position to just ominously talk about clarisse not even letting go, just hugging it out talking about the traitor
Luke and annabeth in the same frame!!! We got a hand on annabeths shoulder AND NOTHING ELSE
THE CINEMATOGRAPHY OF THE NEXT SCENE IS UNPARALLELED
THE WAY THE FIREWORKS GET DARKER AND DARKER AS LUKE IS CAUGHT
Backbiter glowed up fr now he can make interdimensional portals
also percy knows everything as usual.
the girls are fightinggggg
”im sorry” *luke taking advantage to slash percy in the arm* you will always live in my heart
The heartbreak in lukes eyes
the hearbreak in annabeths eyes
also that shot of leah against the bright lights of the fireworks makes her look so pretty
ok we’re just going to gloss over the sadness of the betrayal
Can i just say i love chirons casting SO MUCH im so excited to see him party next season
“I am percy jackson” slay
ANNABETHS PIGTAILS ARE SO CUTE
OFC SHES GOING TO DISNEY WORLD
the way shes just worrying about what it might do to kill her 🥺
annabeth: *Exists*
percy: ❤️🥺😁🥰
THE LIL FLOWER
HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
bro literally gave us the percy and sally reunion of our dreams
”your survival is the key to my rise” get lost grim reaper
Do you think Poseidon saving Percy from Zeus’s wrath gave him more confidence to stand up to Luke.
They aren’t perfect, but they are trying. Hermes looked sad that he didn’t get along with Luke. He helped them.
Poseidon saved him, and surrendered the war, willing to be embarrassed in front of his entire family, so his son’s life was spared.
Hephaestus wanted his family to be better.
Zeus turned Thalia into a tree to save her life, and the mention of her bravery helped dampen his anger.
ok the tree thing wasn’t the best idea, but he tried
Hades didn’t want a part of the family drama. He didn’t want a war. He saved his nephew’s mum and held her hostage to get his helm back. He held up to his end of the deal. He offered to protect them from grandpa in return for the bolt.
They are a toxic and disfunctional family, and demigods are small and scary. But they are trying.
Kronos on the other hand, never gave his children a chance.
When it comes to parenting, the gods are a slightly lesser evil.
It’s easy for Percy to understand where Luke was coming from. He isn’t stupid. He knows the gods aren’t good parents. He knew some of them didn’t care. But he’s seen them make attempts. Poor attempts, but still attempts him.
Poseidon still dreams about Sally. He protects Percy even though he failed.
The gods are bad parents. They are inattentive, they ignore their children. Use them.
Athena gave Annabeth the hat. But Annabeth embarrassed her. She wasn’t worthy of her love.
Ares hates kids. Maybe his kids slightly less, but they are still children.
Hermes doesn’t know how to connect with Luke, how to make amends.
Zeus turned his kid into a tree.
But Kronos ate his children two seconds after they were born. Luke’s justification is that the golden age needs to come back, because the gods were bad parents. Luke doesn’t seem to remember that Kronos is worse.
And Luke betrayed him. He put him, Grover, and Annabeth in more danger than they need be. He didn’t see why plotting to drag him into Tartarus was not a very friendly thing to do.
Luke had a point, a point Percy could easily understand. But at his dad saved him, when it would have been much easier to let him die.
Hermes helped them, he didn’t exactly want too. But these kids stole from him, he could have gotten angry at them, he could have stopped them. But he didn’t. They were Luke’s friends. And he knows how much Luke cares about Annabeth.
Camp Half Blood is the first place he felt he had true friends, and now Luke expects him to turn on them. And he had a very scary sword and sort of almost kidnapped him.
Whose side did you think he was going to take.
