Seeing the x ray of Dean's Enochian carved ribs makes me wonder if I should have referenced to that in my fic Ruins of a Soul. Missed the opportunity!

Rufus and Jo forcing Sam to swallow salt. Gosh I can't imagine how much it must have burnt going into the wrong pipe. And when Sam begs "stop", "please" whyy is that hot?! What's wrong with me??

see I like it when they don't portray Dean like a jerk. He figured it out it was war who was manipulating everyone. Good one!

5x02, Good God Y'all

Critical theory: Trust, devotion, war. 

Discussion:

They’re being dramatic. Just drop Sam off at Bobby’s it’s not that deep. He can be the research guy. [Like… you’re leaving him unsupervised?] They weren’t expecting that. Sam suggesting they take a break, or he takes a step back. There’s kinda no need for him to disappear. 

Kai, love that Cas is doing side adventures. He’s just off doing his own thing and we dpn’t get to see it. [It’s funny now. Give it a few years. How was Jerusalum? Arid. etc.][I had a minor breakdown here ngl.] He’s just a guy living his own life. He has hobbies. Guy can’t have hobbies? He’s just doing guy stuff. And he needs Dean’s necklace for it. Love how easily Dean gave in to that one. Cas: give it. Dean: No. Cas: 🥺 Dean: Okay. Cas is very assertive in a way that is very enjoyable to watch. And Dean gets asserted to. And Dean enjoys it. 

[So we’re looking for God now. How are we feeling about that?] Kai, “knowing this show, they’re gonna find God, and he’s just gonna be some guy.” They’re a bit mad about War just being a guy with a car. Demons are fruity, the horseman (or at least this one) are/is too. 

Love a kinda mindfuck episode. A trickstery one. The knife doesn’t do the usual demon killing thing. Their eyes are black the whole time. etc. Sam did just kill some teenagers this episode btw. 

Disappointed in Jo and Rufus. They should’ve figured that shit out actually. They should’ve noticed something was off, when the salt/holy water wasn’t working. 

They don’t like the title. Doesn’t really fit beyond the like. First few minutes. [Okay we looked up the reference and now we respect it.] 

No point ripping into Sam. He’s well written rn—he’s an addict—and pretty well acted. And in a regular show this would be sad. Except he did just raise Lucifer from his prison. [And we don’t need to rip into him. Sam knows. Dean knows. Sam feels like shit, they all know it, what is there to say?] How do you come back from that? He started the apocalypse. Dean: don’t trust Ruby. Sam: what’s the worst that can happen? Well. It was pretty much this actually. It’s the apocalypse. [Sam played best case scenario/worst case scenario and. Well. He lost.] 

However it is so sad watching Dean agree that they need to split up? Is it that he’s found something else to live for, or does he feel like he’s failed? Is he surrendering? Giving up? John told Dean to save Sam or kill him, and Dean did neither. Dean feels hopeless. 

[I know it’s only episode 2, but how are we vibing with this season?] Kai is enjoying it. Feeling well written, clear plotlines etc. This ep was fairly self-contained. Iga isn’t quite settled in yet. Misses the old format. This episode is a bit self contained, but the resolution isn’t quite there. It’s never over. It feels hopeless. There’s no burning the bones etc. It just leads to something else. It’s the goo robot. ["can’t help myself” by Sun Yuan and Peng Yu]

I love what they did with war this episode

I love the fact that they emphasize that this small town is religious and that war is using their religious fears to manipulate them

I do like that cas's first solution to finding out the angels are corrupt is to seek a higher power to set the systems to right like makes sense he would not believe he/winchesters could fix this

sam having this conversation about parting ways in a park and immediately going to hitch-hiking without asking for a ride to a bus stop is so indicative of both his view on what any kind of break with his family means, and also is so clear of his self-flagellation this season

thinking about sam's constant hope, hope he can be better, hope he can fix things, hope he can save people, hope that the world can be better, not me thinking about the sam "afraid of heights" boy genius amv that lives in my head and doesn't exist

Another example of Dean's love for Cas

I watched a show. So far so good. But then I saw a scene where the girl tells the guy to get out of the room despite his brother telling him multiple times before and he does it when SHE says it. What happens in the very next episode? Well, he tells her about his feelings for her.

So what my brain did is that he thought about Destiel (obviously, of course, as always) and thought about how this could apply to them.

Are there times when Dean does what Cas tells him to? The answer is yes there are.

Episode 5x02, Castiel wants Dean's necklace to find God:

CASTIEL: May I borrow it? DEAN: No. CASTIEL: Dean. Give it to me. DEAN (takes off the amulet): All right, I guess.

2. Episode 15x09, their whole trip in Purgatory (before and during):

DEAN: Chuck has Sam. I'm not leaving him. CAS: Chuck's not gonna kill him. That's not the ending. DEAN: Wh— Then he'll torture him. CAS: Dean, will you stop? Just stop being so stupid. DEAN: What? CAS: If we attack Chuck now, we don't have anything that can hurt him. We get that Leviathan blossom, complete Michael's spell, build the Cage. That's our chance. That's the way we'll save Sam, and that's the way we'll save the world.

Boom! They go to Purgatory. Then, when they're in, this happens:

DEAN: [...] Okay. Let's split up. CAS: What? DEAN: You go that way. I'll go this way. We'll meet back at the Rift, alright? We'll cover more ground. We'll better our odds. CAS: Yeah. We'll also improve our odds of getting lost or killed. Come on.

Boom! Cas sets out, and Dean follows after him.

There might be more examples, that was just those I could remember. If you have others, please feel free to add them in comments or reblogs. Anyway, it's funny to see that straight from the start of their relationship Dean already did what Cas told him to.

Did Dean have feelings for Cas since season 5? Maybe, I'm not sure what my headcanon is about this yet.

This is Dean's face when he and Sam decide to split up, because Dean has to focus on his job (saving the world from the apocalypse) and can't worry about his little brother all the time, and I CAN'T!

Don't know how many times this show has broken my heart now, and still I come back for more...
