I have strong feelings about this scene
#wwdits#nandor#nandor the relentless#gif#what we do in the shadows#ok I need Nandor using a sword more often#like he looks very powerful#and look at both of them in this scene#you can tell Nandor is well trained and is very calm and with good posture#you can tell by his body language he knows what he's doing and every swing is perfectly calculated#while Guillermo is very fast and all over the place wasting his power in extra movements#self trained relying only on his strength and his slayer intuition#and still he's a match for Nandor#I think Nandor never trained Guillermo with a sword because he knows he will outmatch him in no time#In this essay I will-#Mygifs

shoutout to the only panel in the cheshire contract where roy actually looks believably 22ish. you will always have a special place in my heart <3
#why do young men in 80s comics all look like they're 40 years old on a good day??#and don't get me started on the kids...#dick here doesn't look old so much as he looks like a plastic action figure.#that posture is not natural. drink some water and stop clenching every muscle in your body#dc#dick grayson#roy harper#the cheshire contract#mine: dc

wah i looove their designs and animation...
#sketched last night looped ''hot air balloon'' track last night rewatched elemental last night you know just how it is....i love it all augh#elemental#elemental 2023#pixar elemental#elemental fanart#ember lumen#wade ripple#it's so fun how just going w/the flow waviness drawing a wade is Correct. some flamey shiveriness / jaggedness in ember's lines is Correct#and it's all the more fun how it's like oh ofc not quite hitting the mark of how great their designs really are....so so good#and of course the expressive elasticity not only with their faces but the way their bodies ft. respective elements can be expressive#in addition to just usual [assume you have a usual literal human body] expressiveness options in posture / movement etc lol#also was thinking about how like we know everything we Need to know re: wade & his dad but also have so [zero details there]#which is interesting to wonder about. kinda assumed like oh a parent got sick & died but now considering how it could've been an accident..#the tiny layer of A Reaction he has when ember's talking abt parents giving up everything for you: could be nothing much; or Anything#also noting i Didn't note the first instances that they hear each other's names or introduce themselves thusly lol#or at least i sure can't recall it. just start knowing the other's name partway through which Isn't A Problem but it's like#ooh just more to consider & reexamine. i love to pick up More Details & that's helped by my difficulty in catching them in the first place#one thing about me i don't Catch things i don't Notice shit i don't Get stuff. and also of course: i do though lol#always a trip when it's like oh i love this movie i'm seeing it probably the two dozenth time#and then i notice something for the very first time that was clearly straightup meant to be Gotten upon the immediate viewing#even to the extent that smthing later seems to be kinda happening out of nowhere if you didn't. & i'd just rolled with it#like ok i'm autistic ofc that's something i gotta do all the time. & the adhd means i might keep getting distracted around the same pts.

i dont see a lot of people talking about this so that's my PSA for anyone who wants to get top surgery at some point: building muscle helps a lot with recovery and mobility, and you can do simple exercises at home and already have a world of difference for your surgery
stuff like doing squats, push ups and dips 3-4x a week for example. you can start with adapted versions to ease into them (like chair push ups) and i swear it will help out
as a fun fact since my surgery i lost around 10lbs (not counting my actual breasts) and most of it is muscle 🥲 but I'm glad i worked hard before that so I'd be prepared for that loss
#of course focusing on the upper body is good. back and shoulders will help you a lot with posture post op#and chest obviously is where the surgery happens so its good to have as much muscle as possible there#but i cant say how important squatting was. the first 2 weeks every movement to sit down and get up without using my arms was challenging#if i didnt have that leg strength it would have been much worse#top surgery posting

need to die asap
#I genuinely despise having a body#Not only is it ugly ofc#But like the basic functions of it ''working'' make me wanna stab it to a pulp#It's never happy#If I don't eat then it throws a fit feeling nauseous and passing out#If I do eat then it rewards me by shitting and making me fat#It refuses to fucking sleep normally. either it won't fall asleep at night leaving me tired#or it'll be really tired all the time and waste my day being asleep#and lt just wont get comfortable. always either too warm or too cold or bad posture or good posture hurts or dehydrated or needs to piss or#just fucking kill me already. I can't live like this

okay it's happening. im making a post about compensation and muscle pain.
let's say you have a pain. the type of pain that's been nagging at you for quite a while, maybe in different spots but it has a bit of a pattern: like your left shoulder, or the achy knee, and, of course, back pain.
most people don't really know when or where it started, but in this hypothetical scenario it's been building over the years. that pain, and how it has developed over time, is your body Compensating, which starts as something small, but can grow into something utterly disabling.
to give you an idea of what I'm talking about, imagine you've hurt your foot. it hurts to put weight on the ball, but you still need to do stuff, so you just walk around on your heel.
this isn't the normal way to walk, obviously, and most people would go back to normal once the injury is better. but let's say for whatever reason, you end up in the habit of walking on your heel for a while.
because this isn't the right way to walk, you're putting strain on the shin muscles, which have to constantly flex to hold your toes up. it will also overstretch the bottom of your foot. over time, that overstretched muscle starts to hurt too, so now you start curling your toes in to make it hurt less. this in turn puts more strain on the shin muscles, who have now recruited the muscles on the side of your calf to keep your toes raised.
you are now straining several different muscles, and that's just on the foot. each new pain that arises causes a different muscle to act, which creates another new pain when it in turn starts to strain. and the worst part is that this pattern can be so subtle, you don't even realize it happening.
so when you are modifying your posture to address pain, you have to be careful not to continue the cycle. remind yourself that a good posture is relaxed--even standing requires very little muscle activation. if you catch yourself clenching up, try to find the reason for it and follow it back. it's the only way you'll escape the cycle.
a good posture is a relaxed posture. instead of forcing yourself to sit straight, find the reason you were in that pose to begin with.
#fatals physio corner#chronic pain#chronic illness#you'll be clenching every muscle in your body just to stay upright and physiotherapists will be like#wow you have really good posture :)#youll be doing this for years and drs will be like but you're so healthy all your tests come back good#also this is basically what causes myofascial pain syndrome. i call it muscle compensation but like. it's mps.#it's just weird to me to call it a syndrome when the pathology is Like That

Woe, "Your favorite character who's probably just autistic and quiet and not very sociable and often speaks very plainly and in a more direct and blunt manner is now mischaracterized by the entire fandom as a sexy emo possessive no-nonsense 'I hate everyone and everything except for the weird quirky girl cause I'm the only person on Earth who knows she's super hot cause everyone else says she's ugly even though she's actually extremely conventially attractive' serial player who essentially treats every female character in the particular piece of media like his personal slave and is the subject of countless x reader fics, so much so that it makes you feel ashamed to tell people he's your favorite character because you don't view him like that in the slightest but literally everyone else in the fandom does so you're afraid you'll be lumped in with those people" be upon ye.
#genshin impact#thinking about the fandom's perception of alhaitham again#some of y'all really want him to be a y/a 50 shades-esque love interest and it shows#he does not have an aggressive possessive bone in his body bfr#that's not to say he's weak or a pushover obviously#he just has a very healthy amount of self-confidence and knows he's very intelligent#and rather than being all “noooo i'm not THAT smart haha” he readily acknowledges his skills and doesn't hide them#he's also very direct and prefers to speak his mind rather than hide behind senseless posturing#and apparently to a good portion of y'all that translates to christian grey behavior#free my man all he did was have some self-esteem and actually enjoy showing it#text post#shut up lea

Yesterday I've been doing some proper physical exercise for the first time since last year and I'm just imagining how proud my f/os would be of me🥹
#it was just a 20 minute beginners home workout and I can feel every muscle in my body now but I think they'd be so happy I pushed through!#I've had particularly Heinz and Maximilian on my mind I think they would be sooo happy that I'm trying to take better care of myself💖#Heinz because he's always there anyway of course but I kind of imagine Max is probably overall the fittest out of my f/os#he seems like the kind of guy who'd want to be an example for his soldiers and always hold himself to the same standards as them#he'd be so supportive and cheer me on and be proud of me every time I get myself to do something😭💖💖#I've never particularly enjoyed doing sports (aside horse riding but in the past year I didn't have time anymore for that bc of uni😭😭)#so I didn't really do anything anymore after I finished school#I started doing simple home workouts last year but in winter my mental health went a little📉 and then I had no motivation to keep going#dunno how long I'll go through with it this time but better than nothing I guess#again with the home workouts lmao bc driving to the nearest gym ain't worth the time for me and I'd need some basic fitness first anyway#I'm doing it mainly for health reasons but this time I'm also motivated to actually get a bit stronger#I don't mind looking like a stick figure and I'm overall content with my body (maybe it could help me to look a bit more masc tho?👀👀)#but I know especially for my posture and such it would be good if my muscles were just a tad bit more developed#my mum was proud of me too when I told her about it hehe :) she works in healthcare she's always a little concerned#she's just a little worried about me getting health issues when I'm older that could be avoided by taking proper care of my body now#I get where she's coming from but it's not easy but at least I'm motivated to try again now :)#selnia talks

new physical therapy milestone unlocked! If I move my arm a certain way my hand goes numb!!
#and now there are different exercises to do because this apparently explains some things#not all of them though#such as how this happened in the first place#(the answer is repetitive movement and sitting at a desk i guess)#i swear everyone else here is recovering from an acute injury or surgery and here i am#because apparently just moving is too much for my silly body#(we're getting there! got a compliment on my posture! which is good because i am DOING THE STRETCHES)

wwoah thank you, that way on how you draw the head/s is very useful, if it is okay to ask, how do you do the bodies as well? if this makes sense ^^; hopefully its not too annoying with me asking this stuff !!
not annoying at all! i'm so happy that first process post helped and i hope this one can too :]
ok!! here's an overview of the steps (once again with good posture v1, since that's probably more applicable to most ppl lol):
step 1: blocking out the body in three parts: chest, abdomen, and pelvis. these are based a much more human-like shape, as its body without its back attachment looks a lot like a regular torso in construction imo + again, i tend to go for organic rather than mechanical shapes
step 2: the chest!! i first draw in its chest plate based on pectoral muscles, then make them a bit blockier. its collar is much like a collar bone (innovative i kno.....) and then i use the cut off line i established in the base sketch to know how big to make the two plates beneath its chest. i'm,,,,sorry that's not explained very well ;o;
step 3: the abdomen!! this is pretty simple and follows the base sketch almost exactly, with a tummy panel that includes articulation points and is slightly open to reveal a couple threads of blood tubing just beneath the chest.
step 4: the pelvis! the pelvis is 100% modeled pretty directly from a human pelvis with only a couple notable differences: the front extends much further up in the middle and it has mounts that connect to the hydraulics we're about to sketch in. again this really lends a more organic feel to it!
step 5: the extras! here the hydraulic blood ports are added in - first i draw the rod from the side of its chest to the mount on its pelvis, then i draw in the little blood tank. its "backpack" is added here too, which is the mount for its wings and its blood reservoir.
step 6: an additional step to try to show how its limbs attach. the arms are tough for me every time tbh, mostly bc i'm not good at rotating an octagon in my head lol, but those shoulders do overlap a bit with the top chest plate. its legs are wide set and again attach similarly as they might on the pelvis.
i,,,,hope that helped a little!! i'm really not the best explainer and honestly i'm still learning myself how to draw the vs consistently! so don't give up! they're definitely complicated in shape, esp if you're new to drawing or have only drawn human characters, so just keep trying and you'll improve!!
#also drew it in good posture bc....my shrimp is harder for me to draw hhhhh#its body isn't meant to do that!!! but i force it anyway!!!#so it's complete trial and error im fighting for my life out there#ANYWAY hope this made any sense!!#the chest is by far the hardest part for me so that's why the description of that step is a little ?????#cake answers
