Okay so let's talk about the ending of the miraculous Paris Shadybug and clawnoir special cuz I wasn't satisfied with it........

So near the end of the special when Gabriel creates the alternate portal I really thought that this special is gonna end here and there will be an announcement of another sequel of this special.. But I was left in utter shock after seeing what happened next. I mean, don't you think that the ending was a bit rushed? I mean.... C'mon dude that was really rushed.

Another thing I find really really weird is that even when during the final fight ladybug had a shot of taking a lot of miraculous back from him but I don't know why the hell she didn't reclaim them. I mean just earlier she was crying about how she couldn't take the back....

I mean if they didn't want the story of special to affect the actual show them they could've made this one an alternate universe too where they reclaim some of the miraculous. I see absolutely no harm in that.....

However, one good thing about this was that we got to see anime lb and cn

C'mon guyss this looks so damn good......

I really want them to remake the ladybug pv version of the show instead of making those 12 seasons... I mean with 12 seasons the show will completely loose it's essence..(it is already starting to loose it's essence though)

Also I am saying this for the millionth time but I need another special of ShadyClaw or even a series of them. I mean c'mon we need to know their backstory and what happens after they get back.. well we know absolutely nothing about emonette and their world. About that supreme guy and the miraculouses of that world....

*Jubilation-Marinette was jogging (good for her, it’s nice to see her doing something to stay in shape what with being Ladybug and all and also outside of fashion) when she sees Principal Damocles The Owl, wait, this guy is still doing cosplay!? Sh*t! Didn’t he learn nothing from last time!? (“The Dark Owl”) Guess not!😒 How disappointing. So then Ladybug comes in to-WAIT! (record scratch) That is not Ladybug!

Is that-Is that who I think it is!? (GASP!) OMG! IT’S BRIDGETTE! (Squee) I DON’T BELIEVE IT! IT’S ACTUALLY HER! I KNEW WE’D BE SEEING HER-SOQUELINE!? (record scratch). Huh, well how ‘bout that!? This little Marinette doppelgänger was a former classmate of hers and now she’s LARPing too! Marinette doesn’t take kindly to this (even if Soqueline means well) so she harshly tells both Damocles and Soqueline to quit playing “make believe” and just be normal!

This of course saddens Damocles and he’s akumatized as Dark(er) Owl again, but with the power of The Pig Miraculous that brings happiness to its target. Hmmmm, a frightening Batman-esque villain with a power that brings joy…….how’s that gonna be effective? You’d be surprised! Cuz I think this ep gave us a foreshadowing on the series finale😉. It’s a common tactic villains use to mess with the heroes, magically putting them in a dream like world where everything’s perfect and they’re happy and it all goes according to plan to distract them from a bigger scheme they’re doing and then eventually the heroes realize its all fake, wake up and kick some a**. THAT’S how effective the power of happiness can be used for evil!

I’m impressed with Marinette here. She’s serious about quitting cold turkey on love and has really shelved Adrien and dating all together to focus on more important things in life. She’s still gushing about him, yes, but at least it’s subtle and I’m very proud of her for that. What I’m not so proud of is Damocles being a bird brain over here! The heroes told him not to go “dress up” and save the day cuz he doesn’t have powers like them and could seriously get hurt or worse, but Noooooo! He didn’t listen! :P. Btw, I’m not hating on cosplayers here, I’m just saying he should’ve called the authorities to help instead of doing dangerous things himself like saving cats from high structures. Marinette didn’t mean to be harsh to tell both her principal and friend about playing pretend, but she (secretly) knows first hand what it’s like to take big risks and have a horrible outcome from it (Shadow Moth’s Final Attack Part 1:”Risk”/Part 2:”Strike Back”). False alarm, it’s not Bridgette, it’s just some other girl who vaguely looks like Marinette and runs an arts and crafts shop. For those who don’t know, “Bridgette” was the fan nickname we gave PV Ladybug Marinette cuz since Felix from the PV was retooled as Adrien to be Cat Noir and then later brought back cuz of popular demand (in a disappointing manner), we didn’t want people confusing the two Marinettes cuz her name stayed the same, so PV Ladybug Marinette was fanly nicknamed “Bridgette”. Should’ve known, Bridgette wore shorts and had an ahoge that looked like it was alive and would form into a heart and Soqueline wears glasses and pants. Whether this was their way of bringing “Bridgette” into the show or not, Soqueline seems nice and was only impersonating Ladybug in the hopes of being recruited as a super. We were lucky she knew gymnastics and Taekwondo, otherwise, this would’ve been a disaster for both her and Damocles. I’ve heard people saying they don’t like Gabe/Monarchs new look, and yeah, it’s stupid. His new civilian outfit makes him look like a giant Q-tip and his new villain outfit makes him look like a “giant purple condom”! Bleh! And this guys supposed to be a fashion designer!? We got a more look into the alliance rings and they’re basically a Siri-like gizmo that also works like an smart phone using a digital version of either Adrien or Lila (and specialized for Gabe, Emilie) as a guide. Marinette was almost exposed as Ladybug when she borrowed Soquelines cuz the ring tracked her every route during her crime fighting and that’s why Gabe made those things! Don! Don! Don! Luckily, he thought it was Soqueline, so Marinette stays clear of those rings and Adrien doesn’t give a sh*t about them too cuz since he’s quit modeling, he’s now an everyday Joe playing video games in his jammie’s and leaving junk food everywhere (are they making fun of us Americans!?). Adrien, sweetie, it’s great you gave up modeling at long last, but please, GET A HOBBY! It kinda sucks that even though he quit, there’s a digital version of him still representing the Agreste brand so it’s not like Adrien “quit quit”, cuz it’s still his face modeling! Gabe needs to hire a new teen male model (when he’s not busy being a villain) Seriously! The Kwamies imprisonment is worse than we thought, Monarch’s using the newly redesigned miraculous rings as a fuse source by attaching his rings to their inescapable glass containers, transferring the powers onto anyone who bought an alliance ring to be akumatized with so the hero’s won’t be able to figure out where the miraculous is and dispensing food for the Kwamies to regain energy like they were hamsters! Poor things. What was the “happy” moment Darker Owl made them see? Weeeeeeell, they defeated Monarch by finding A BUSINESS CARD! XD, locating him through the address on it, doing a double single punch on him, saving Paris, falling in love, getting married with every superhero and celebrity in the show and having not 3, but 4 kids and becoming the new Incredibles! Cute. At least, it would’ve if it didn’t happen in a cheesy way.

Your whole body was trembling as you held him, blood and grime soaked through his Hellfire shirt. He cradled your face, smiling up at you with blood stained lips. How Dustin had managed to get him back through the gate, you had no idea, but you didn't care. He was here. He was safe now.

"We-..." sobs rattled you. Eddie hushed you lovingly, stroking your cheek as he looked up at you with heavy eyes. "We've gotta call an ambulance."

"No." Eddie cooed with a sad smile. "No baby. It's too late for that. 's not why I came back."

"Eds you're bleeding out. You're-"

"I'm not gonna spend my last hours in a hospital, babe. Came back to be with you."

"D-Don't say that please don't say that-" You begged, your whole body crumpling. Eddie gave you a sad smile, hushing you lovingly.

"Look at me." You scrubbed at your eyes, but he moved your hand away from your face. "Look at me, pretty girl."

Your eyes burnt. His features were blurred with tears as you tried to pull yourself together for him.

 "There's not much time left, huh? I don't want to die in a hospital bed. Don't want to die all covered in tubes and full of drugs."

"Eddie-" You couldn't form words.

"I know, princess". He brushed your tears away with his thumb, accidentally smudging dirt over your cheek. "Let's go home, babe. Is that ok? I'll take care of you and you'll take care of me...we'll do this together." You bit your lip, ignoring the churning of your stomach and the cries threatening to escape your throat. You nodded, sniffling, and he smiled so big at you that you can't help but let out another sob, kissing his forehead.

You let Dustin help Eddie to the car, giving them the opportunity to say their goodbyes. It also gave you the opportunity to empty your stomach into the bushes without Eddie noticing. Dustin brought you some water to wash your mouth out before you returned to the van.

You played Eddie's music for him on the car ride home, holding his hand loosely as he sang along croakily and softly.

"Y/N." He cooed, pressing a kiss to your hand.   "Will it hurt you to know? All of the things I wanted to do with you?"

You blinked back tears again, trying to find the courage to meet his eyes, which you just knew were filled with so much love.

"It makes me happy to think about them." He hummed. "Thought maybe they'd make you happy too. When I'm-"

"Tell me about us, Eds. What are we going to do, hm? Once you graduate." You met his tired eyes and he smiled at you sleepily. Your chest ached. God, your beautiful boy. Not your beautiful boy.

"I'm gonna put a ring on your finger. Snatch you up and make you all mine." He chuckled softly, "Save up and buy you a huge white dress."

You swallowed thickly, "Yeah? Didn't think you'd be one for a big wedding."

"Nah, I'm showing you off to all of Hawkins, babe." You smiled at him, wiping your tears, and he grinned so brightly back at you that it almost made you forget he was hurt.

"Then what?"

He choked a little, making your heart stop momentarily, but then took a labored breath and continued. "Then we get the hell out of here. Move somewhere with more than one goddamn stop light." He joked. "And a few less angry hicks would be nice too, huh?" He smiled to himself, thoughtfully. "I'll get you out of that shitty apartment and buy you a house. One we can fill up with a million little Munsons. Start an army."

You laughed, which makes Eddie feel very accomplished. He grinned at the sound. "A million?"

"Give or take a few!"

You smiled so lovingly at him as you put the car in park in the driveway, unbuckling your seat belt to kiss him. He nuzzled against your nose needily, groaning. "We're getting started now, huh?" He hummed against your lips.

You laughed, a tear rolling down your cheek. "I love you." Your expression crumbled a little at the words and you gave a soft sob.

"Hey..." he brushed away your tears, kissing your nose softly. "I love you too, ok? Always. Forever and always and then for a hundred years after that."

Eddie gritted his teeth, refusing to reveal to you that he was in pain in any way as you helped him into the apartment.

You led him to the bathroom, helping him to sit on the closed lid of the toilet as you pulled off his grimy clothes. Eventually, you gave in, grabbing a pair of scissors from your first aid kit. You couldn't keep trying to maneuver him out of the fabric anymore. Not when he was bleeding both externally and internally. You were so hesitant to cut off his Hellfire shirt, pausing as you held your scissors to the collar of it. He laughed softly, his eyes growing more droopy by the minute. "Just cut it off, babe. It's ok."

You mustered your strength and snipped the fabric, ripping through it quickly to free him of it before doing the same with his jeans. It took everything in you not to get sick again when you saw his shredded chest. You gave a sob, despite your attempts to abort the sound, and broke into tears again. Eddie's heart broke. "Hey no no no no shhh 's alright. I've got you. You're ok, sweetheart. I've got you." You gathered yourself a little, whimpering an apology. "No, baby, hey...I'm sorry. I didn't think, sweetheart. I didn't mean to scare you."

"No, it's just...I should've b-been there. Should've kept you safe."

"You are here, silly. You're keeping me safe right now. Taking such good care of me. That's all that matters."

He held you there in his arms for a long while before you finally forced yourself to run him a bath. " 'm gonna take care of you." You promised, rubbing your eyes. "Gonna make you feel better, Eds. I swear it."

"Hey..." He smiled at you as you turn back to face him. "Already done, baby doll."

He groaned blissfully as you helped him crawl into the bath, the water immediately turning dark with blood and dirt. You washed him of most of it carefully with a rag and drained the filthy water before filling the tub again.

"Christ, I've never been so grateful for this tiny, shitty bathtub before in my life."

You giggled at him as you poured water through his messy curls, grabbing his shampoo. He moaned softly as you worked it into his hair, your nails dragging over his scalp in a heavenly way. "I love you so much." He whispered, eyes fluttering shut as you worked. You kissed him, and he smiled against your lips.

You towelled his hair off when he was done, being careful not to hurt his chest or tummy as you gently dried him.

He was pale. Very pale. The bath water was pink by the time you'd drained it again and you knew deep in your stomach there wasn't much time left. You held the majority of his weight as you helped him limp to the bedroom. He was able to pull on a pair of boxers, but you could see him growing dizzy and clammy even from that, and quickly laid him in bed.

" 'm c-cold." He shivered as you brushed his damp bangs from his face. You curled up beside him, tucking a comforter around his body as you held him. He was blinking back the sinking of his eyelids now and it made a knot form in your throat. "Y/N."

"Yes, baby..."

"You've got to leave me, ok? Once I'm gone."

"Eddie-"

His grip around your waist, tightened. "I'll be alright, princess. I promise. But you've got to go. You've-" he coughed raggedly and your stomach churned. His voice was getting shakey and faint. "You've got to get out of here. You can't let them think you're part of this. They...if they find me alone they'll think it was some kind of satanist suicide ritual but you can't be here. I can't take you down with me."

You nodded, unwilling to argue with him or upset him. Not now. You whimpered, tears rolling down your cheek.

"That's my girl." He smiled an Eddie smile, pulling you in for a kiss. "My girl. Always my girl." You kissed him desperately, though gently, and he held you as close to him as his hands trailed over your skin. "I have a dying wish." He croaked softly against your lips. His hand trailing to your waist and down across your thigh to pull your knee over his hips, guiding you to straddle him.

"Eds-"

"Let me feel you. Please, let me feel you. Just one more time."

So you straddled him.

You'd never forget the soft sounds that left his lips as you, ever so carefully, rocked your hips against his. A taste of heaven, Eddie thought. One last taste of heaven before I'm sent to hell. He held you so close, his hands sliding up your back as he finished, his breathing heavy as he pressed soft, weak kisses down your neck. His heat filled your belly so perfectly, slowly spilling out between your thighs as you pulled his boxers back up as best you could, seeing as he refused to let you go. "I love you." He whispered, his breathing struggling to even out. "I love you f-forever. Even when your eighty years old and you've got great grand children I'll still be loving you. S-Somewhere out there."

His hands trembled. Swallowing his own fear as his vision blurred. He cradled your face, dragging his thumb over your cheek as you let tears spill. "I'll always r-remember...I'll always remember when Eddie Munson was mine." You sob, kissing his forehead.

"I was always yours." You could barely hear it, now. A lazy, sleepy smile adorning his pretty face.

"Don't go." You begged him. "Please, Eddie...keep your eyes open. Please." He blinked rapidly, holding your hand.

" 'm tired, baby."

"I know...I know, Eds. I-..." His hand sunk a little from where he held your face, but you didn't let it, cradling it to your cheek.

"It's time for me to....to sleep. Just need a nap. I'm sleepy." He hummed weakly, looking so lovingly at you with hooded eyes. "It's alright, baby. Just...just need to sleep."

"I know baby." You swallowed so hard knowing it was time to let him go. You sobbed into his hand as you held him. "It's ok. Rest for me, Eds. It's ok. I've got you. You...You can rest. You can go to sleep, now."

He smiled at you so sweetly, "Pretty girl."

His eyes fluttered shut as he drifted away. You held him for four minutes before he exhaled one last time, his chest going still.

You couldn't leave him. Not until you saw the sun starting to come up over the trees and you knew you had to go.

He looked so beautiful, there. The sun painting his pale face. Like he really was sleeping. You pulled the comforter up over his chest, hiding the gashes and the bites that had taken him from you. You took his arms from your waist carefully, laying them at his sides. You adjusted his pillow further beneath his head, combing through his curls, all fluffy and clean from the bath, with your fingertips.

"I love you, Eddie." You whispered to him one last time, kissing his forehead. You put music on for him when you left. Something soft and comforting.

Something he could sleep to.

Three months later.

Hellfire wasn't the same. Of course it wasn't. You knew it wouldn't be. They all did. But it was a piece of Eddie that was still alive. The boys needed it. You did too. So every week, the campaigns went on.

You drove them all to school in the mornings and helped with homework. You surrounded yourself with people who made your heart feel whole again.

You were late this morning. Really late. You choked an apology to the boys as they climbed into the van.

"Jesus, are you ok?" Dustin frowned, staring at you.

"Yeah", Mike agreed. "You look terrible."

"Thanks."

He rolled his eyes, "Are you sick?"

"I must be." You sighed as you grabbed the stick shift, adjusting it to back out. "I've thrown up every morning for a week and a half. I think I've got food poisoning or something."

Dustin scrunched his nose in disgust. "Shit."

"Wait..." Lucas leaned forward to meet your eyes in the rearview mirror. "Every morning?"

"Yeah. Usually goes away after an hour or so." You ignored the slight nausea that swam in your head as you took a sharp turn.

"Y/N..." Lucas looked a bit bewildered.

Dustin caught on, eyes going wide. "Oh my god. When was your last period?"

You hit the breaks, immediately pulling over into a lot. "What the fuck Dustin?"

"When was it!?" Dustin and Lucas yell.

You froze, realizing what they were saying.

"No. Guys it's not like that. It can't be. I haven't been with anyone except-" Your heart fluttered. Eddie. Eddie.

"Except Eddie?" Dustin hummed softly. You swallowed thickly, nodding. There was a long silence. Dustin took your hand, giving it a squeeze.

Your eyes found Gareth and Jeff.

"You don't have to answer this..." Gareth muttered, softly. "But when was the last time you guys.....??"

Your eyes fell to your hands. Tears burning in the corners of your eyes. You steadied your voice. "The night...the night he...." Dustin's brow furrowed with concern. He squeezed your hand. "He asked if we...if we could-" you swallowed thickly. "One last time."

Gareth smiled at you sadly. The van was silent as the boys were hit with the reality of what was happening.

Gareth stood, dropping his backpack and gesturing for you to hop into the passenger seat. You did, and he started the engine. "Where are we going?"

"A drugstore."

It was a sight to behold. You, eyes still teary and your hands shaking, buying a pregnancy test as 6 highschool aged boys in matching shirts watched anxiously. The cashier had her brows furrowed in an odd mixture of suspicion and confusion.

It only seemed to make the situation more puzzling to the store's employees when you asked to use the restroom, and were followed back by all six boys, who waited patiently for you to return.

You were trembling when you finally opened the bathroom door to see them, and at the first sign of the smile on your face, all six boys erupted in triumph. Tears welled over in your eyes, running down your face as they jumped and laughed and hollered and cheered. The boys crowded you, each one pulling you into big hugs. High fiving one another.

"Long Live Munson!" Gareth cried, cheers sounding from the group. "Still throwing surprises at us! Even now!"

In that moment you knew he'd been right. You knew that Eddie was still somewhere, loving you. Because you could feel it.

And right now, you were more than happy for it to feel like morning sickness.

Majijo Leaders Yuko and Salt

Guys, a long time ago I told you about some dirty work that I’d ask you to do. You’re gonna work for me. Now’s time, here’s the real business.

There’ve been lots of beautiful drawings around all those years, but there’s THE masterpiece that needs to come out once and for all. I want the most talented among you guys making a drawing with Yuko and Salt together. I know some of you don’t like it, Yuko will always be Yuko for some, Salt will always be Salt for others they’re not two girls who can be mixed together and that’s something we all naturally understand I feel the same, no explanation needed.

That’s why this stuff is so special, an exception cause I wanna get this gift from you guys. It’d be complete. It doesn’t really matter how you wanna draw them, if you make them kissing sure I’d marry you ;) .... More seriously, just great stuff will be fine that's why if you got good drawing skills then just fuckin show them off to me, blow me away. Beyond love, it’s also a personal way to let you participate.  Sure I’ve got other ideas in mind (nothing pervert but why not) that I’ll tell you later in the time.  I guess some old drawers have graduated but if some are still around here and reading this too that’s good, time to go back into business for a while. My Review of Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni GOU

(a.k.a. When They Cry Gou)

I know what you’re thinking. Why the heck am I reviewing this anime again? I’ve already written a review in 2009 and re-polished it in 2016. (Here it is BTW) I’ve made my point on who I like, hate, what ships are worthy, and poked fun at all the deaths that happened throughout the series. I think some time has passed that I should say some thoughts on this…um, story. After all, Higurashi is one of my favorite animes.

STORY: Ah shit, here we go again!

Higurashi or When They Cry is about a boy named Keiichi Maebara who recently moved to a place called Hinamizawa. And ever since moving to this town, he’s found his days are filled with fun mischief with fellow friends Rena Ryuuguu, Satoko Hojo, Mion Sonozaki, and Rika Furude. But little does Keiichi know that there’s a little murder mystery that surrounds the town. During a town festival known as Watanagashi (or Cotton Drifting), there’s usually one or two people that go missing or turn up dead. And this year, Keiichi is next. So let’s relive the horrors that plague the town of Hinamizawa and…

One episode later.

Wait, what the…?! It’s episode 2, why are we seeing Hanyuu? I don’t remember that in the manga. The visual! THE VISUAL! WHAT THE FUCK?! ISN’T THIS SUPPOSED TO BE A REBOOT? WHAT THE FUCK?! WHAT THE FUCK?! WHY IS THERE AN ADULT RIKA?! WAIT, IS THAT ADULT RIKA OR BERN? IS THIS GOING TO BE THE PARALLEL UNIVERSE TO THE WITCHES OF UMINEKO?! THE SHADOWS IN THE OPENING ARE TOO FAMILIAR FROM OTHER WORKS! Ryukishi07, you magnificent, fucking troll master for keeping this hidden until the second episode’s air date!

Many of us did not see this coming. When they announced a new Higurashi series that was going to be done by a different studio, many of us speculated whether this was going to be a reboot or a sequel. But then we got the PV trailers and it looked like we were going to get a reboot to correct the mistakes Studio Deen made years ago. Rika’s head doesn’t look like its gonna snap off because her body is so small in comparison. Improvements! I mean, they showed everything we were already used to like the yandere girls, the original soundtrack, the original freakin’ cast, and death by baseball bat. Hell, the first episode ended with an Eiko Shimamiya song! It was on track to being a reboot! A better looking reboot!

Here in lies the sequel aspect! After episode one, we get a scene that isn’t usually seen until the Kai part of Higurashi (a good 4-5 arcs away). And they give away the secret that Rika Furude is repeating the timeline of June 1983 over and over because she keeps dying. And as the series progresses, you notice little things different from the original series. Many of the well-known storylines end much differently than what you remember. Instead of Keiichi killing Rena and Mion with a baseball bat, you’ve got Rena going psycho on Keiichi. And Rika’s fate is somehow worse than the stories of the original series. So let’s head back to Hinamizawa to hear the cicadas cry and watch a murder mystery unfold.

THE SUB: All the original voice actors have returned to voice their respected roles. Perfection in a nutshell!

LICENSING: You’ve gotta be shitting me!

As I’ve mentioned years ago in my review, the original Higurashi anime went through a turbulent time being licensed in the states. It was originally licensed and dubbed by Geneon. But once Geneon collapsed, FUNimation licensed it and did absolutely fuck all with it. Geneon could only manage to squeak out one season. At this point, FUNimation was picking up titles that Geneon used to have before it fell under including Familiar of Zero, Kyou Kara Maou, and yes, Higurashi. All of these titles mentioned here were done absolutely nothing with despite having cult followings, second seasons, and OVA’s.

A year or two after licensing it, the license expired for Higurashi. For nearly six years, the only copies you could get were out of print and estimating at $500 at the very least for a full collection. Single DVD’s could be found in rare shops, but it would take like 13 years to complete the fucking collection if you did it that way. And that was only for the first season. Second season, the best all of us could do was bootleg DVD’s from Japan Town or fansubs with glaring errors for the best season to Higurashi. We had to deal with this shit until Sentai Filmworks licensed and released the first 2 seasons and the Rei OVA’s.

AND NOW YOU’RE TELLING ME FUNIMATION IS CLAIMING HIGURASHI ALL FOR THEMSELVES?!

Where the shit was this love 10 years ago when we were asking politely to release Kai? People ignorantly blew Higurashi off for years because season two was never released in the states until 2016 because they thought the damn anime ended after Rena held up the school. I’m already irritated with FUNimation after the Interspecies Reviewers debacle and I’m still quite butt-hurt over them re-releasing Nichijou with a dub to make a quick buck. Licensing Higurashi just brings back old anger. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy Higurashi is legally licensed and can be seen on at the very least Hulu. It’s just that I hold grudges and this was a big one.

THE DUB: Holy…um, okay! This is a rather big gulp to take in. As I’ve repeatedly mentioned in past reviews, the Higurashi dub was a mixed bag of okay, bad, and oh gasperts kill it with fire. So, not great! The good folks at Geneon (before bankrupting in America) dubbed the first season with a good chunk of folks that put their fake names to the credits. Again, not great! To me, there were some aspects of Megan Hollingshed, Mela Lee, and Grant George’s performances of Mion, Rena, and Keiichi that were okay. SOME! John Snyder and Karen Strassmen as Ooishi and Takano were the best out of that dub. Everything else was just irredeemable! It needed a redub, an overhaul, and a spit-shine. For years, I’ve wondered who would be the dream cast. Sentai Filmworks unfortunately never dubbed the remaining seasons when they released them. Would Luci Christian be the heavenly voice to do Rika Furude? Could we get Hilary Haag to do Satoko? Okay, that never came to pass.

This dub is a breath of fresh air. Rika doesn’t sound like Mihoshi. Satoko doesn’t sound fake, Keiichi doesn’t sound like a weird Sonic the Hedgehog. It’s perfect. ESPECIALLY BRITTANY LAUDA AS SATOKO! I knew the second she was cast as Satoko that she was going to excel the fuck out of this role. And I was not disappointed! The only voice I’m still not quite used to is Michelle Rojas as the Sonozaki twins. Probably because I was somewhat okay with Megan Hollingshed’s voice in the 2006 version that it’ll take some time! And we FINALLY got a voice for Hanyuu. I am super excited that Xanthe Huynh is the voice and I know she’ll do great with this role! With all of that said, here’s what you might recognize these folks from.

*Keiichi is now played by Khoi Dao (known for Kiriyama on March Comes in Like a Lion, Murata on Demon Slayer, Chaka on Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Pt. 3, and Iskhan on SAO: Alicization)

And when this pile of trash is cheating on that pile of trash, he sleeps with peak trash named Ritsuko. Teppei Hojo needs to die in every timeline. Whenever Keiichi bashes this cum-burger’s head in with a blunt instrument, I scream at the top of my lungs, “DIE SCUM, DIE”! And nothing, I repeat, NOTHING will change my opinion of Teppei Hojo.

Episode 23.

Oh, fuck you Higurashi Gou!

MUSIC: Okay, thank you for proving me wrong. I did not despise the opening theme. Having Higurashi with no Eiko Shimamiya is like having Pokemon with no Rika Matsumoto. Or Rozen Maiden with no ALI PROJECT. But this new opening is fine by my standards.

That’s right, get the niceness of the review before I get angry down below.

THESE TIMELOOPS: Rika tries to find solutions to end her time-loop in June 1983. Much like the original series, we follow stories from the Onikakushi-hen, Watanagashi-hen, and Tatarigoroshi-hen arcs (the first three stories to Higurashi, although now these have different names). However, all of these arcs have different endings. And after a positive turnaround with Satoko escaping from her abusive uncle, shit goes south when Detective Ooishi, who up to this point has never suffered under the Hinamizawa Syndrome or died a painful death goes on a murderous rampage. Higurashi style! That means, he’s after Rika Furude, will slaughter anyone in his way, and scratching his neck because he sees maggots (part of the hallucination effect).

What the shit? Ooishi for the most part has been a great guy. With the exception of the Tatarigoroshi-hen storyline, he was a nice guy! In the limbo with Hanyuu, Rika now remembers who has killed her. Every time Rika dies up to this point, she never remembers who was the cause of her demise. Hanyuu implanted that power to remember the deaths and a clue for Rika to use and then she disappears.

Now seriously, imagine Rika’s plight here. She has been repeating the month of June 1983 for over a hundred years. And each of these times she repeats, she’s horribly murdered. Rika got the shit-end of the deal in the murder department in the original series, including being dissected on while alive. Then, leaving her bloody, naked corpse out in the open of the Oyashiro altar! She’s tired of this shit! She wants to live a happy life away from Hinamizawa. She wants to grow older, become a teenager, and have fun. And this series made it worse by having her die four times in one episode. Not just that, but murdered by the most unexpected people including Akasaka, Chief Kimiyoshi, Mion’s mother Akane, and Keiichi. Keiichi has never killed Rika in any of the timelines up to this point. He has killed Mion and Rena, but never Rika. Keiichi loves Rika! Welcome back to A Million Ways to Die in Hinamizawa.

I’ll just add decapitation, drowning in a lake, set on fire, drowning in a sewage pipe, and death by…um…

ENDING: We all know by now that in the original series, Miyo Takano is the betrayer and the reason behind all the murders during the Cotton Drifting Festival. This time, it’s someone closer to Rika that’s causing Rika so much pain. After we watched the worst kinds of murders happen to Rika, the episode after gave us our answer. Satoko, Rika’s friend and confidant is not happy that Rika is turning her back on Oyashiro and Hinamizawa. All the while pulling out her intestines!

Oh Higurashi, don’t stop being gory!

Yes, Satoko is aware of past timelines much like Rika and is almost on a god-like state. So what the hell happened to her? I know Satoko’s past has been a cluster-fuck of horror with her brother disappearing, her parents dying, and every form of abuse from her uncle. But she was able to prevail after all that. After surviving 1983, a lot has changed in Hinamizawa. The three big families of Hinamizawa put an end to the Cotton Drifting Festival and claiming there is no curse of Oyashiro. Mion and Shion moved on and are going to high school. And Rika decides she wants to move away from this village. By attending St. Lucia! And she wants to do this with Satoko.

Oh, if you don’t recall St. Lucia, Shion attended this academy until she escaped during the Meakashi-hen arc. It was also the same school that Ange from Umineko attended. But of course Ange attended it in the 90’s and we are clearly in the 80’s. Moving on!

Rika and Satoko studied their butts off for years and their hard work paid off as both were admitted into St. Lucia. Now Rika was able to prevail and fit in with everyone. Satoko on the other hand couldn’t do the same as her grades took a dip, her manners are atrocious, and she doesn’t seem to fit in with anyone. And this caused a drift between Rika and Satoko! And so during a trip to Hinamizawa, Satoko went to the old shrine where she ended up getting sent to that limbo place Rika and Hanyuu were at many times before. There, she meets Eua (God, I hope that really isn’t her name). She’s much like Hanyuu except a lot more condescending. Oh, and she’s that mysterious shadow during the opening theme. She bestows the power to Satoko of reviving on death and returning to a certain point in time. In the hopes that Satoko is able to stop Rika from going to St. Lucia! But Rika is not going to budge. She wants out of Hinamizawa no matter what. And Satoko just wants to be with her friend no matter what. Satoko is even shown Rika’s past and still no dent in…Okay, this is bugging the fuck outta me. Pause the Ending portion!

MY GRIPES WITH SATOKO: Satoko, girl, the fuck is wrong with you?! I know Rika is like your main chick and everything, but for fuck’s sake loosen the grip you have with Rika. This season has changed you and not for the better. You made a connection with ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS from Hinamizawa. Big connections! At least in the original series you did. Look at your moments with Keiichi and Shion. Are you just going to shove them off? And what really sets me off is that Satoko literally had the opportunity to learn about Rika’s hundred year’s loop of death. And feels nothing about it! Only that it’s a challenge to break her herself! God damn, at the end of season one, Keiichi learned the truth and he was remorseful. This bitch doesn’t care that her friends were murdered in such a way. And Rika’s been shot in the head, had a live dissection performed on her, and other forms of torture…AND IT DOESN’T FAZE SATOKO!

I know in my original Higurashi review, I felt sorry for Satoko as she did seem to get the short-end of the stick living in Hinamizawa. I mean, her parents died right in front of her, she suffered abuse from her uncle, abuse from her aunt, ostrisized by the town for years, and a myriad of all types of shit to befall her. But Higurashi Gou has ruined this character. Rika didn’t really do anything wrong to Satoko. She didn’t snitch on her when Satoko got in trouble. She offered help to Satoko when she thought her grades were slipping. Satoko just held onto this petty vendetta. Satoko acted like Rika sexually assaulted her and have two other people gang rape her while drugging her. Okay, that’s a call for revenge, not your petty shit.

YOU SEE WHERE I’M AT WITH YOU SATOKO?! Your actions are so bad that you have me siding with the protagonist from Redo of Healer.

BACK TO THE ENDING: Sorry, had to get that off my chest. Yeah, Satoko is leaving a bad impression on many of us who have been following the Higurashi story for years. And it just gets worse as she uses her new power for petty shit and abusing it at that. I mean, we saw Rika use her power in order to find a way to live past June 1983. Satoko is just using that shit to win some games and have things go her way. What else could this series bless us with? How about an epiphany from Teppei Hojo?

Look, I admit that these moments with Teppei and Satoko were tame compared to the shit she’s pulled in the last several episodes. But this is Teppei Hojo! The same guy that used Satoko as his personal punching bag! The same guy who fleeced Rena’s father! The same guy many of us who cheer every time we see him on a moped because we know someone’s going to bash his head in with a baseball bat. Even my best friend knows how I am with this guy. When she gave me Higurashi free swag, I took everything except for Teppei. I don’t take trash. So seeing him so remorseful makes me…conflicted.

So now Satoko’s got things turned around for her. Her uncle has…changed?! Add to that, her God-like power. Satoko decides to change the past for her own advantage. This includes changing one of the biggest stories in Higurashi Kai with the kids vs. Miyo Takano. If Rika doesn’t experience the pain in those timelines, she won’t think about leaving Hinamizawa. And if she doesn’t leave Hinamizawa, she’ll stay with Satoko forever.

Oh what a tangled web of crazy Higurashi Gou was! I gotta tell you, Higurashi got me excited all the way up until we learn it was Satoko. And then it went straight to Hell. They turned Satoko into a straight-up selfish monster. Totally unlike the Satoko we’ve all grown to love in the original series. Yes, Satoko had those moments where, yeah, you would want to throw a chair at her and beat her ass with it. But that was only temporary! You would always see the good in Satoko despite that mischievous laugh and those episodes in Higurashi Rei. And God help me, I was a shipper of Rika x Satoko 10 years ago. Not a big one, but a supporter of it. Now, I would rather support Amourshipping from Pokemon than root for this. And I despise the living fuck out of Amourshipping. That should tell you something!

If original Satoko were bestowed the powers from Eua, I think things would be different. Satoko would probably use her powers to prevent all the bad stuff from happening to her friends and to her brother Satoshi. I mean, my goodness, not once did I see her think, hey maybe I should find a way to help my ailing brother. Change a few timelines, make him all better! And of course, feel sympathy for Rika’s plight. Do it for Rika’s sake, not your own selfish desires! Rika has died horrificly for hundreds of years. And I seriously just can’t get over Satoko’s reaction to that when she learned the truth. Instead, she wants to treat Rika like a caged bird. Best friend my ass!

Now can Higurashi SOTSU fix the hot mess of Satoko? Time will only tell! And good on them for having Higurashi air in the summertime. Summertime is for Higurashi! Autum is for Umineko. Speaking of, it’s been since 2009. Any chance you want to give Umineko the old reboot or sequel it sorely needs? Oh forget it! My likeness for this season is conflicted. I was annoyed by it, but I didn’t fully hate it. It’s just that last arc with Satoko really burned my beans. And I’m sure a lot of you all feel the same way.

Guys, if you want to watch Higurashi Gou, do yourselves a favor and watch the original series first. Let that swirl around your heads for a while. I know the creator tricked us at the beginning of this series thinking it was going to be an honest-to-God retelling. It is not! It is a sequel. And a sequel that isn’t based off a game or manga of all things. So fans are jumping into this with eyes closed! And if you’re a fan of Satoko Hojo, I’m sorry. I’m just sorry.

If you want to check out Higurashi Gou, it is available to watch on FUNimation and Hulu. But please, if you haven’t watched the original series, go to HI-DIVE now and watch “When They Cry” and “When They Cry Kai”. I think you can manage without watching any of the OVA’s.

I’d rather watch that Kira OVA where the fanservice is thin, you can practically lick off the whipped cream from the Sonozaki’s tit.

That should tell you something if I’m starting to say something nice about Higurashi Kira.

the deal with toon shader!! or rather... my deal with toon shader

i for one really like toon shader and never quite understood why people hated it? a lot of people talk down on megamix because of the pv quality but... other project diva games were made for consoles like the ps4, which has significantly more advanced graphics than the switch’s small screen. obviously megamix is gonna have less advanced graphics and pvs because the switch isn’t built to run 4k/1080p 60 fps music videos

and also, while i really like toon shader, i don’t think it fits every pv as well as it fits others. in songs like nekomimi switch, clover club, electric angel, age age again, hand in hand, and alien alien (etc) it gives the videos that soft cartoony vibe that don’t oversaturate the characters and adds a nice cartoon touch

and there’s also the pvs like negaposi continues, two faced lovers and interviewer that have utilized toon shader in other project diva games to get the cartoon affect that fits with the style of the video. although songs like systematic love didn’t have it originally i think the style of toon shader fits the video well

but i also think that there’s some songs that definitely look better without toon shader. songs like gigantic girl, freely tomorrow, blackjack, summer idol, sekiranun grafitti, decorator and cendrillon (among many others) rely on either very bright light sources and/or natural light sources that toon shader oversaturates and makes too bright which just drowns out the characters and doesn’t look very good

and that’s really all i have to say... BE NICE TO TOON SHADER‼️‼️‼️

Ever since Jug joined the Serpents, he was spending less time with you and more with the gang. You didn’t mind it that much but it made you feel sad not to always be hanging out together like you usually did.

“Hey Juggie, remember about the party my parents are hosting tonight. It’s at seven but you can obviously come before that.”

A look of forgiveness came across his eyes. You lowered your head looking at the ground.

“You forgot didn’t you?”

He gave you a guilty smile.

“I’m so sorry Y/n but I promised Pea and Fangs that I would come by later.”

“You knew how much tonight meant to me. You know how my family is, Jug. I can’t do this without you.”

He grabbed your arm and kissed your cheek.

“I hope that you’ll be able to forgive me.”

You turned around and started walking away not being able to look at him in the eyes. You felt abandoned by the one who told you he would always be there.

Jughead’s PV

I just stared at her walking away and couldn’t move to run after her. I broke her heart and failed to be there for her. Lately we weren’t spending as much time together and it was my fault. I let her down and I wasn’t sure if I could make it up to her. I got lost in my thought and was now standing alone in the middle of the student lounge. I grabbed my backpack and headed for Fangs trailer.

“Jug you alright?”

I raised my head and looked at Sweet Pea.

“I messed up big time with Y/n.”

“What did you do this time?”

“Remember how I told you about her problem with her parents?”

He shook his head in approval waiting for me to finish my story.

“Well they were having a family gathering tonight and she asked me a couple of weeks ago if I could come with her and I said yes but I forgot.”

Fangs entered the room but before he could say what he was thinking, someone knocked violently at the door.

“Fangs were you expecting somebody.”

He shook his head and we looked at each other knowing that something wasn’t right.

I opened the door and was met by Toni’s and Cheryl’s worried face.

“Girls what’s going on?”

“Why aren’t you with Y/n? You were supposed to be with her?”

“What…? What are you talking about?”

“We met the Ghoulies and they said that they were going after her trying to get to you but we didn’t think any of it since you told us you would be with her. That was until we saw your bike in the street.”

I felt my heart sink and I couldn’t move anymore.

“Jug we gotta go now!”

Cheryl’s voice brought me back to reality. We all ran and jumped on our bikes heading for Y/n’s house.

Y/n’s PV

“Y/n.”

“Yes dad.”

“Stop not doing anything and go get me a beer.”

You sighed and went inside to get him what he asked for. You went into the kitchen and opened the fridge door. Something hit you in the back of your head and you suddenly passed out on the floor. When you woke up, your hands and feet were tied to a chair.

“Nice for you to join us pretty girl.”

“What do you want from me?”

“See your the only way to get to your little serpent boyfriend.”

“He’s not my boyfriend and nothing you can do is going to make him come here. You’re wasting your time.”

The guy in front of you clenched his fist and hit you in the face pretty hard. You felt blood inside your mouth and the taste was disgusting.

“If I were you, I would probably stop talking.”

All of the sudden, the door was kicked open and the Serpents came into your house to your rescue.

“Leave her alone and don’t you dare touch her or I’ll kill you.”

“I’m so scared.”

They each pulled out a knife.

“You do know that you’re outnumbered and you don’t have a chance against all of us.”

The Ghoulies got cold feet and ran away. Jug ran to your side and untied you from the chair. He grabbed you and pulled you into a tight hug.

“Thank you for saving me Juggie.”

“I’ll always protect you.”

After they made sure that you were safe they decided to leave. You took Jug’s arm wanting him to stay with you for the night.

“Could you stay with me please. I don’t want to sleep alone.”

He smiled at you and brought you closer to him kissing your forehead at the same time.

“Go ahead guys, I’m gonna stay here for the night.”

They all waved at you and smiling knowing that you were going to be safe from now.

You and Jug went into your room and both laid on your bed. He held you into his arms so tight that you could hear his heartbeat.

“Everything that happened is my fault and I’m so so sorry Y/n/n.”

“Jug it’s not, you couldn’t have known that they would come after me tonight.”

“I should have been there for you but I wasn’t and you got hurt because I wasn’t there to keep you safe with me.”

You were tired of hearing him beating himself down for ditching you and you getting hurt so you decided that the best way to shut him was by kissing him. You grabbed his face and kissed him. He got surprised at first but it didn’t take long for him to return the kiss.

“I love you so much Y/n. You don’t know how long I’ve been waiting for the right moment to kiss you but I always got scared of how you would react.”

“I love you too Juggie. Now stop complaining and you should really kiss me again you know to apologize for ditching me.”

“I promise you that you are going to forgive me pretty soon.”

He teased you with his eyes and his smirk sent shivers down your spine. He captured your lips with his and that was the beginning of a memorable night.
