Joxkin AU Idea

I mentioned this in @yoonbum-in-drag ‘s discord server (which y’all should join because it’s a lot of fun) and I thought I should share it on Tumblr!

So the AU’s whole concept is based off the roaring twenties and proabition. It takes place in a speakeasy run by the Moomin family.

So far here are everyone’s roles in the AU:

- Moominpapa and Mama are the owners and handle running the place

- Moomin helps both of them out and is currently learning how to run the place so he can one day take it over

- Muddler runs the bar (he loves all the different shiny bottles)

- Hodgkins does general maintenance and repair work

- Joxter acts as a bouncer of sorts, but mostly just hangs out in a corner looking menacing to patrons

- Snufkin is a singer/dancer

A general overview of the plot of the AU:

Moomin’s parents finally think he’s ready to start helping out in the bar! He’s really excited and his first night there he meets all the other staff and thinks they’re all pretty chill (he’s mildly intimidated by Joxter, but everyone is tbh), however when he sees Snufkin he immediately falls in love.

Snufkin however, is already in a relationship with the Joxter. Because of the fact that Snufkin’s appearance in this AU resembles a flapper, and the fact that neither of the two have ever mentioned it, no one realizes that the two are related (and they want to keep it that way). When Moomin finds this out he’s pretty bummed, but Snufkin is his friend so he supports him! Snufkin knows Moomin has a crush and tends to tease him and be a flirt.

The main conflict that occurs in this AU is that Joxter isn’t a very physically/emotionally affectionate guy, and Snufkin is insecure and likes validation, which leads to a lot of drama (that I’ll divulge more into in a fic I’m writing)

I don’t want to give anything else away because a lot will be revealed in a fic I eventually plan on posting, but if you have questions or ideas of your own I’d love to hear them!
